I visited this beautiful old brown pub for the first time a while ago. I felt right at home here immediately. And personally, I was like, wow! Nicely decorated, lovely old bar. Very friendly and young owner who runs the pub and works hard. We had a nice chat with the owner. Mostly Dutch music was played, which of course fits in a pub like this. The prices were actually very good. You can really enjoy a nice evening of drinks here. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely come back here. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately I cannot give 0 stars for "Service and Atmosphere", and the 1 star I gave "Food" is also incorrect because I did not eat there. We spent a little too long at the Market last Thursday, while waiting for the gourmets our daughter suddenly had to pee. My wife walked into the first catering establishment to ask if she could use the toilet. The young man behind the bar / cash register kindly said that this was no problem. Our daughter went to pee and my wife was waiting in the restaurant in front of the toilet when the manager suddenly came up to her and asked if he could help her with something. She explained the situation where he seriously and not happily said that this is actually not possible and that she will have to go to the town hall next time they (or our daughter) have to go to the toilet (as if she will ever go in here again). It was completely strange that even after her explanation to him that she had asked this and also indicated that she would pay for it, there was no understanding from his side. I think it could be quite annoying if everyone came in all day to pee alone instead of coming to eat or drink, but a better solution would be (apparently judging by his behavior this happens at least 10 times a day), an A4 note on the window with the text "toilet use only for guests" or what I call a small table with a saucer in front of the toilet so that people understand that they "have to" leave some coins behind it ("have to" in quotes because I do this I'm not sure if it might have changed, but I thought that the catering industry was not even allowed to refuse when a person comes in and asks if they can go to the toilet?) what my wife already indicated she wanted to do. There will probably be better solutions because I have no catering experience and know little about it. I hope his mother never experienced this with him before because it makes women feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Fortunately, this has never happened to us before, also because the same situation rarely or never occurs, but on the occasions when our daughter had to and we asked for this, we always received very good help. This young man is completely unsuitable for the catering industry, unfriendly to women and discriminatory, in the Netherlands women (especially in the presence of her daughter who is too young to understand what is happening but because of his attitude and way of talking thinks she has something wrong) done) simply treated with respect. The boy behind the bar should be the manager. It takes more than being "related" to hold this position and run a business profitably, unless it doesn't matter if it's busy or not...
