Unfortunately, the last dishes I ordered were disappointing. The vitello tonnato was practically without tuna, with a portion cut in half, and the beef with potatoes was inedible, rubbery, with a texture I'd never seen before. Perhaps the only good thing left is the pizza 🍕

I ordered pizzas, so the result is naturally less than fresh from the oven. However, the pizza crust was very soggy, and the artichoke hadn't been peeled off far enough, leaving the outside hard.

Spectacular pizzas and great service at a good price. We ordered a dessert that we weren't too keen on because it seemed a little burnt, and the waiter's response was excellent. Not only did they bring us another dessert, but they also didn't charge us for it. Thank you so much. A well-deserved tip. Highly recommended restaurant with one of the best pizzas I've ever had.

It's a very lovely place with a cosy atmosphere! The food was amazing with a lot of vegan and vegetarian option. I highly recommend this place.

Every week were were ordering a very nice tuna pizza and it’s been now 7-12 months that the quality and quantity of ingredients dropped: almost no tuna and the taste is less good. We Hope you can go back to your previous quality.

The food was really good but the service was pretty disappointing! The staff was friendly but never came to our table - we always had to call them just to order or ask for something. For the price you’re paying, the service really doesn’t match the quality you’d expect.

Beautiful building in a great location in the city. The decor isn't particularly atmospheric, more practical. Excellent food, great pizzas. Plenty of staff and fast service, but impersonal. The restroom is small, and the small sink is downright filthy: the result of inadequate cleaning. I'd happily return for the food, but not for the rest.

One of the best pizzerias in The Hague! I ordered the caprese and they forgot to bring the extra mozzarella, when I called they just decided to give me an entire new pizza! Wonderful service, couldn’t recommend it more.

We stopped in for a delicious dinner after a day of strolling the Mauritshuis Museum and Haage Bos. The food was delicious and the service was lovely. It was definitely one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The atmosphere in the restaurant felt like a neighborhood hangout which was a much needed change from the restaurants in the more touristy areas of the city. We would love to go back some day!

Good Italian food, friendly service. The atmosphere in the main area is very good, but the side/adjacent area feels a little less inviting, partly because it's used for storing high chairs, for example.

Even though we made a reservation (we wanted a nice table because it was our birthday), they showed us a table in a dark place, we didn't want it, we sat in the side hall and we couldn't even eat our dessert because it was cold, from now on I will never choose this place for a special day, the staff is very uninterested and does nothing to please, we will have a birthday dinner again today in a better place.

Unfortunately, the service wasn't great tonight. We had to walk to the server every time we wanted something, and then we had to wait a very long time. The kids had already finished their pizza half an hour before we even got ours (they had forgotten us). It used to be our regular pizzeria, but unfortunately, this time we had a negative experience, partly because the food was really poor quality. It's also gotten quite expensive!

Their pasta dishes are perfect for sharing.

Great pizza, but my advice: do not take something else. Dishes are small, not super tasty and expensive. Bad tiramosu, caprese with mash salad, and with AH cherry tomatoes.

Delicious pizza and great service

This pizzeria served delicious pizza. Even though it was very busy, I didn't have to wait long. The tomato sauce was the first thing I tasted when I took a bite, and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

Donato is definitely among the better Italian restaurants in The Hague. The pizza that comes from their wood-fired oven is authentic and delicious, and when weather permits, dining in the garden makes for a very relaxing experience.

Yes, we wanted to try Italian pizza in The Hague, and we were completely satisfied! The pizza is delicious, with a high crust, soft, large, and made with fresh ingredients! I ordered the Caprese, delicious! Highly recommended.

We stumbled upon the restaurant by chance and didn't regret it. The food was very good and the outdoor area is very cozy.

The pizza tasted good, but was very wet and limp upon delivery.

I used to order pizza from this place several times a week — the product is genuinely very, very good. Today, I came for my usual takeaway order and decided to pay in cash. The man at the counter (with two rings in his ears) gave me the wrong change. When I pointed it out, he responded by adding 10 cents extra and saying, “That’s your tip,” as if it was a joke. I cancelled the order because of how disrespectfully the situation was handled. His attitude was dismissive and rude, turning what should’ve been a simple correction into an unpleasant experience. As a customer, I believe I have the right to receive the correct change — and I decide whether or not to leave a tip. It’s disappointing how one employee’s behavior can damage the reputation of an otherwise excellent place.

De kwaliteit is helaas achteruit gegaan. We waren eerst ontzettend enthousiast over de pizza's. Helaas is dat het laatste jaar niet meer het geval. Hebben nu al een paar keer gehad dat je 1,5 uur moet wachten om 2 pizza's bezorg te krijgen. Als die dan aankomen zijn ze klef en koud. Dat is jammer.

Service was slow and not accurate. We did not like the lasagna and it has been taken off the check at the end. The pizza was good.

True Napolitana pizza, natural and simple ingredients, fresh dough with thick crust in the borders. The service was very friendly and fast.

Delicious food and what a nice atmosphere!

It was the worst food experience i ever had in my whole life the service is 0 they treat me like im going to eat for free , then i changed my mind to take everything away then i was surprised he even didn’t give me a bag or even tissue i will never eat there again or order from them again , the manager said we don’t habe place available but when other customers came in i heard him accidentally asking them where they wonna sit outside or inside even though they didn’t make any reservation . And the pizza doesn’t worth the price there is much better and cheaper than that .

The service is so bad i literally had the worst experience ever, and racist behaviour, i don’t recommend at all i ordered take away but the water or “manager “ didn’t give a bag or a tissue, when i said i changed my mind i want to sit here out in the terrace he said no we don’t have places available its all reserved and we had to get up from our seats me and my sister….. this was the worse treatment I ever had in the whole Nederland. After this i went to wait for my order outside and 2 customers came in and i heard him saying we have place in and outside, when didn’t make any reservations!!!!!!!! so i was like!!!!!!!! this is soooooooooooooo racist and low class i will never go to any Italian restaurant again

The best pizza in The Hague, probably in South Holland, probably Holland….😍 we don’t give a full-5 stars only for the service. Parents with children can be annoying clients - we know it :) - however, letting a 6-years old waiting 30 minutes for a scoop of ice cream when she already couldn’t eat her lasagna because of an entire wooden stick left right in the middle of it by the chef, is kind of cruel 🙈 however, the really bad news is: the pizza is N.1 in Benelux. Sorry. We’ll return!

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. They have pasta and pizza, and a lot of other dishes as well. I really recommend this restaurant.

Let me start by saying that I ordered. I live in the same street, about 5 minutes by bike from Donato. Because of the many reviews and how nice it smells when I cycle past, I ordered here tonight. The delivery was super fast, I don't think it was even 25 minutes. Unfortunately, the pizza was not good. The pizza was super soft and the base was not even. I have eaten better pizza for much less in The Hague. The price-quality ratio is not right based on this experience in my opinion. It could be that I was unlucky, but it is a shame.

Of course 5 stars for my favorite pizzeria in the Netherlands! In addition to the delicious pizzas, the staff were able to organize a surprise dinner with cake after talking to my dad on the phone. One of the best restaurants ever :)

Nice neighborhood restaurant with a nice daily menu. Inside it is a bit noisy, but the service is friendly and the food is tasty.

Good quality pizzas made with real Italian background. Bases taste fresh and you get a good size pizza. It is not a super big location, but there is enough space inside. It is not one big space, but smaller spaces. Staff is very helpful.

Wij zijn hier al vaker geweest, gezellige drukke sfeer, de Italiaanse obers zijn erg vriendelijk. Hebben heerlijk gegeten, de variaties van pizzas is erg goed. Dit keer heb ik truffel ravioli genomen, heerlijk. Van Alessandro heb ik complementaire limoncello gekregen met de rekening.

Amazing experience. I had the cutest waitress, who was so nice and entertaining. She was stunning and made the dinner experience worth it. Would highly recommend and ask for Federica!

Our visit was on: May 3rd, 2025 We went there spontaneously, there was no problem and we were offered a table straight away. There was no pizza with tuna on the menu. When I asked if you could also make a pizza with tuna, a pizza passed by. The taste is really a 10/10! We became aware of the restaurant through the good reviews and can only agree with all the positive reviews. Thank you!

We ordered Capress and 4 cheese pizza. They tasted very good. The environment and staff were very nice. We were pleased that there was no alcohol in the tiramisu.

Nice restaurant, good food, good service, Italian atmosphere.

It’s used to be my favorite place when looking for an authentic Italian food. But not anymore. I went with two other friends and we ordered to share a lasagna (super dry, not enough sauce), a pizza (burnt), pasta (not well cooked) and a salad (it was okey). The dessert used to be the best part of this place, but nothing drier than this. We paid 40€ each for nothing. On top of that, we told the waiter that the lasagna was terrible having had a piece each and he replied “well, it’s almost finished, I can’t do anything”. Of course, we paid for it. Never coming back again!

We were 3 persons and ordered Pizza, Lasagna, Pasta, Burrata and Tiramisu. The Pizza bottom was almost burnt, the lasagna was uneatable (dry and tasteless) and the Tiramisu didnt even have coffee in it. When we complained about the lasagna, we were told we had almost eaten everything (we took a piece each) and should have complained earlier to get a new one. Still they charged it. Poor management. We paid 41 euros each and none of us were happy

I love this place so much! One of my favorite italian restaurants i’ve had in The Hague. Always amazing service, the people really care about you having the best possible experience and they actually know the food, what goes well with what wine ect. Other than the amazing pizza, there are so many other dishes with amazing complex flavors. If i could give a date/two person dinner recommendation, i would combine the pizza sicilia and the pizza django (down below). The creamy cheesy pizza sicilia goes great with the salty, complex pizza django so you can share with eachother!

A pizza that makes you feel at home even if you are in Holland!

Online besteld, eten was er niet op tijd. Eten was koud en de carbonara leek niet op carbonara. Bij betaling extra 25 cent terwijl er geen andere betaalmogelijkheid was. Bediening was niet vriendelijk l.

100% Italian environment and right in Naples but in Holland.... Beautiful place, delicious cuisine and very kind and helpful staff (Thank you very much (Amadeo & chef Alessandro) The pizza was simply fabulous. I recommend it to anyone who is in Holland for a work holiday or anything else.... Have a good continuation!!! I will be back

We asked for another table (at 4:45 pm) and the waiter said that was not possible. After we asked again because the entire restaurant was empty, the waiter said that we could also eat somewhere else and so we did.

I'm not the classic Italian who goes abroad to eat in Italian restaurants, but Donato is a fantastic exception. I've been living in The Hague for a few months and on Tuesday evening, after the traumatic experience of moving, I was looking for a comfortable, friendly environment, I wanted to feel a bit at home and so I went there alone. I had already been there with some friends and I knew I would eat well, but the thing that was out of the ordinary was the kindness of the service staff, I remember a girl and Alessandro with whom I chatted, thanks to whom I felt truly pampered. Basically I achieved my goal: I felt at home. Highly recommended

Hands down the most authentic Neapolitan pizza in the Netherlands! Great dough, ingredients straight from Italy, lovely staff and a real Southern Italian atmosphere. Whenever we’re wanting to go out to a restaurant it’s always the first pick, wholeheartedly recommend! Bravi ragazzi! :)

We visited this restaurant last night and OMG, it might be the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life so far (I am not even kidding) We tried Pizza Caprese btw 🍕🤤 It really felt like you were sitting in Rome: a relatively small cozy seating area surrounded by busy Italian waiters (ofc we could not sit outside to enjoy the sunset which made us realise we were in Den Haag 😅) The waiter was so friendly and made some fun jokes which we especially liked :) Location is pretty nice, in a calm neighbourhood close to Haagse Bos 🌳 Really recommended for a great night out!

Unfortunately a very bad experience. The 4 seasons pizza was inedible and had to be thrown away. Instead of salami they put a different type of sausage on the pizza that smelled really bad and tasted very bad. The dough is also less good than before. Once a very good place to pick up a pizza, but never again for us.

Okay, listen up ! No joke, the pizza that these Italian guys make is seriously more tasty than some pizzerias in Italy, and 💯 is the most tasty one I have tried in NL. So totally recommend! BONISSIMO!!!!!

The waiters are cordial but they don't speak Dutch. The food is fresh and authentic. I thought the starter was quite pricey and the peas too salty. We had a family outing and got a nice seat in the bay window. We were 5 adults and a child.
