Food was just cold when it arrived and it also took over 2 hours for my food to arrive

I was there today. Everything was cold and tasteless. And most of all, I was impressed that it was much more expensive than other restaurants. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there, especially not with children.

A very bad experience at Donnerbey (Zaandam). The sandwiches are frankly awful, the food tastes mass-produced, everything is poorly prepared, and the place is generally unclean. The cashier (who also makes the fries) is rude, careless, and makes you feel uncomfortable. When I speak to him in basic English, he doesn't understand, which is rather odd in a very touristy area where a minimum level of English should be expected. The man who prepares the sandwiches does his job reasonably well, but the atmosphere is tense: they speak Turkish amongst themselves and argue while preparing orders… And I noticed that when female customers arrive and speak their language, the same cashier immediately becomes more polite and friendly… I strongly advise against going there. Avoid it and eat somewhere else.

One star is still too many! A very bad experience. Never again! We waited over two hours for our order. During that time, we called several times, and each time, they said the delivery driver was "on his way." Finally, the food arrived: the kapsalons were sour, the fries were cold, oily, and limp. When we called about this, we were verbally abused and told that the order would be picked up and we would get a refund. Then, the call was suddenly disconnected. Within a minute, the same man called back to tell me I was rude and hung up. He also claimed that my "boyfriend" had called too often and that they "always deliver within 10 minutes." Apparently, he doesn't know the difference between 10 minutes and 2 hours. On top of that, we suddenly wouldn't get our money back unless we returned the order ourselves. (At 2:15 AM) If I could have realized this, I would have picked up the order myself in the first place instead of having it delivered. What an antisocial, rude, and completely unprofessional way to operate. People, don't order from these disgusting scammers.

Mixed grill 😂isn't a mixed grill, fries with shawarma and done. Cold food. Stingy with sauce, ordered 3 hot dishes and only got 1 sauce. Not worth it

Delivery took over two hours due to a delivery driver mishap, which I understand. Unfortunately, the food was cold, old, and of poor quality—I even had to throw it away. It's a shame, because this isn't what you expect. Hopefully, they'll put more effort into delivering quality and retaining customers.

Exelent food and fast and friendly service. The price is a little high but the plate was huge. I took the chicken dooner with chips and the portion was enoght fot 2 people. I would surely recommend.

I am Iraqi and I visited this place. The food is delicious, the music is Turkish bouzouki, and the atmosphere is wonderful.

We ordered food at 4 p.m. with the option of 5:30 p.m. delivery, but by 6 p.m., it still hadn't arrived. So we called, but no delivery driver had arrived, and it was very busy. That's fine, but don't give people the option to specify a delivery time. The food finally arrived at 6:30 p.m., cold, and no apology for the delay. This is the second time this has happened; we won't be ordering from them again.

I was at Donerbey recently, and the food was surprisingly delicious. Everything tasted fresh, from the tender meat to the crisp salads. The döner was surprisingly delicious, much better than many nearby competitors. You could taste the freshness. I also noticed how clean and tidy everything was. They clearly take hygiene seriously and work professionally. The staff were friendly, and you feel welcome as a customer. So don't be misled by some of the negative reviews—my experience was actually very positive. I'll definitely be back!

We had ordered a Döner and a Chicken Menu. First it took Quite a while, then they did not bring twister fries as ordered, but both the chicken as well as the Doener was not good at all. Old dry chicken, fatty Doner with way too much salt. This all comes with a team behind the counter that seems to be totally incapable of managing the shop. Once and never again!

3 sandwiches, 2 sauces? Large Turkish bread with lamb shawarma, got a small pita with sour, overcooked old meat. 10 euros, trash. Doner, delicious. My drink was wrong, I didn't order it. I checked, and it wasn't lamb, but regular shawarma... but just at Doner Bey, you know.

Wanted a bottle of coke, but the boy behind the counter didn't understand me, asked in Dutch and Turkish. From a chair somewhere he shouted in Turkish "what does he want". I said again that I wanted a bottle of coke. In the end it turned out to be almost 3 euros for a can. A bottle of coke turns out to be almost 5 euros. I got a drink from the neighbors (Febo) and eventually something to eat. I spent 5 euros on that. Ridiculous prices. With every review someone leaves, the owner claims that you probably visited the wrong company. Instead of accepting criticism and improving his business. The owner's motto is apparently: "If you don't like it, s....ter git"

I placed order JFXRR8 at 01:45 and it arrived around 03:00. The food itself was also very disappointing. The bread was soggy and just fell apart, not fresh at all. The taste was bland and just really not nice. Also the chocolate soufflé was inedible that I had to rinse my mouth. It had a strange taste, not at all as it should be. Ordered food but took quite a long time. When it arrived the fries were soggy like I don't know what and I have never seen my chicken strips so burnt and it was dry that is not normal. 2nd time I have a bad experience ordering here!

We chose the City Hotel because we were staying in Zaandam, but it was not good. They make the doner kebab right out of the fridge, there is no such thing as turning it and cutting it fresh, the potatoes are the same way from the freezer. There is loud music playing in the shop, as if saying "eat and go".

The food itself was good and I give it a good score. The portion was enough and fresh french fries served with Mayo and Ketchup. Also the staff were friendly and you can get an affordable food there BUT: The toilet was something really bad. No paper tissue, No lock and dirty. Also there was a delay for preparing the food.

BEWARE. Not only is the food horrendous and small, they hire kids who harass people on the streets.
