Dorstige Hert in De Reit

Prima locatie, zakelijke onpersoonlijke sfeer en bediening. Wisselende ervaring kwaliteit. Gerechten met vis en spareribs prima. Hamburger ontzettend zout en schnitzel droog. Twijfel of we nog een keer het café restaurant zouden bezoeken.

3 januari 2025. Lekker gezellig geluncht in het voorste en oudste deel van dit ruim 100 jaar oude bruin café. Een verrassing van mijn vrouw. Niet vooraf besproken en gelukkig was er nog 1 tafel vrij in dit deel van het gebouw. De bediening was gemoedelijk en de lunch weer lekker. We zijn hier al vaak geweest en hopelijk gaan we hier nog dikwijls terugkomen.

Other than staring at his thermometer, the chef has no idea how to cook a steak. It’s grey meat with pork-colored pink inside. It is medium rare, as I requested but… Almost looks like it was boiled. No flavor and relies on the sauce for any savor. Yet the very white “champignonsaus” has no caramelization and appears to be just mushrooms thrown in mayo with a tad bit of salt. Zucchini wasn’t even cooked either. Learn to sear and caramelize your meats and foods and the quality will go way up. The wait staff were pleasant, however.

Gezellig ouderwets bruin café. Zowel binnen als op het overdekte buitenterras is het goed vertoeven. Leuk personeel en Hans de uitbater heeft altijd met zijn waakhond wel even een praatje voor je!

Seats in the old part still breathe the atmosphere of the past and have the most beautiful view. The attached part radiates businesslikeness and exudes more of the atmosphere of the present. Large outdoor terrace at the rear. Service is friendly and the menu has sufficient options and is well priced. I think it's highly recommended

This is the oldest pub in Tilburg and they radiate that proudly. The ambiance is therefore great, it exudes a brown café. The food tastes good and the portions are more than fine. The staff are very friendly. In short, definitely worth it for a snack or drink.

Had a nice meal, delicious curry soup (not often seen these days), beautiful tasty schnitzels, at my neighbor's, and I enjoyed a delicious fish trio dish with an old cheese board, so I enjoyed it.

Had a delicious meal yesterday, pan of shrimps in garlic oil with bread as a starter and as a main course a perfect medium fried round steak with beans and cauliflower florets in mushroom sauce with fries, really great!

What a nice restaurant this is!! We dined with 4 people, we all ordered something different and all four of us enjoyed it. We sat in the cafe area, where there was a nice bustle. They also serve home-brewed beer; I had a blond deer and I liked it very much.

What an attractive location. Very nice smooth operation. Delicious snacks with drinks. We had a great time here at our neighbor's birthday party.

I can't say anything about the food, we were not helped, so we left after 15 minutes.

Crappy tent. The staff and presumed owner did not spare us a glance for 20 minutes during lunchtime, even though the store was virtually empty. We were completely ignored and no one came to us. They almost seemed to deliberately avoid making eye contact. After 20 minutes of having no idea what we were experiencing, we left. Unprecedented and never experienced in the catering industry in the Netherlands.

I really liked the interior of this cafe. The cafe has its own private parking. The cafe also has its own kitchen with a good menu and reasonable prices. The service could be better.

The food and atmosphere are good, which is a shame that we had to wait 45 minutes between courses for the main course. If you are there at 6:15 PM and you get your main course at 8:20 PM and have to ask for water for the dog 3 times, then something is going wrong with the service and paying attention to your guests.

For an eatery, the food is really tasty! Not too expensive. You can sit comfortably inside and/or outside. Friendly staff.

Een heel gezellig cafe met een heel leuk terras Alleen de prijzen rijzen de pan uit. Voor twee glaasjes wijn en een glaasje port meer dan € 21 mioeten betalen is we erg veel. Ik denk dat ik daar dan ook niet meer naar toe ga. Erg jammer, maar ze prijzen zichzelf zo wel uit de markt.

Nice location for when you have something to celebrate. Both private and business. Characteristic location in a beautiful wooded area. Providing the snacks for drinks is fine. Both the regular and vegan snacks are worth a try.

We were there for drinks after a funeral. Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, people regularly asked if we wanted something to drink, delicious snacks. The reason was of course not pleasant, but otherwise it was a perfect ending to the funeral

Nice place for lunch, tasty, cozy and friendly service

A nice mix of pleasant dining options and a place for local residents in particular to have a drink and keep up with social contacts. The nice thing is that the condition of the interior has deliberately retained a rural appearance. It is not large and there may be a few too many tables in the café, but the canopy outside and shielded from the wind makes it a nice place to stay. You can go there alone and there is always someone to start a chat with. So a big plus for this cafe and it's worth taking a seat there.

Despite its dusty reputation, I went there once and after the renovation (apparently) the dusty old brown kaffee active character has been thoroughly polished and it is a nice cozy place with good food!

Het is er heel klein binnen en de tafeltjes staan heel dicht op elkaar. Dat vind ik wel minpuntje. Het eten is er wel heel goed en personeel is vriendelijk

Soep was erg zout, dat kan je bevallen of niet. Maar mijn god, ik had een medium rare kogel biefstuk en deze was zo mals, deze is een reden om hier heen te gaan. Geserveerd op een goed bed aan groente en voor een vrij dikke steak, nog steeds goed medium rare gebakken.

Vaker geweest masr vanavond was echt waardeloos. 2x de garnalen vooraf .. Niks aan gekookte garnalen idem bij het hoofdgerecht(vistrio ) garnalen waren bleek , gekookt Voorgerecht was meer water smskelios Vriendelijke serveerster. Je merkt wel dat ze eigenlijk niet geïnteresseerd zijn naar je mening . Als ze vragen " heeft het gesmaakt " zijn ze tegelijkertijd al bezig om je bord weg te halen Kost ze een oaar sec als je zegt " nee " Konen nig een kop koffie of toetje krijgen ... Had liever gezien dat de kok kwam en laat maar zitten behalve de drankjes . Onpersoonlijk en zo niet gewend bij hun *gatverdamme gekooktegarnalen#nietteeten.,nl

Wij hebben gezellig op het terras gezeten. Wij hebben hier wat gedronken en wat snacks besteld.

Heerlijk buiten geborreld met fantastische borrel planken. Vriendelijk en attent personeel

Wij waren bij een verjaardagsfeestje van Lia en Paul, we wonen zelf in Tilburg maar waren hier nog nooit geweest. We vonden de accommodatie fantastisch en we vonden het zo leuk dat we waarschijnlijk ook nog eens langskomen om een hapje te eten. Voor ons een geslaagde plek voor een feestje. 👍

Ik (we) word (worden) hier gewoon blij van. Lekker gemoedelijke sfeer, heerlijk eten, gevarieerde kaart, lekkere drankjes en attente bediening.

Leuk menu met prima prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Minpuntje is wegwerpbakje met saus wat omvalt. Gegeten: schnitzel, saté, vis trio en kindermenu. Lekkere witte wijn. Bediening niet pro actief. Achtergrond muziekje zou leuk zijn.

Heerlijke borrelplank, ook huisgemaakt Schuim gebakje is top! Was mooi weer dus ook nog buiten op terras gegeten!

Heerlijk eten voor een goede prijs. Bediening super vriendelijk. Zaten in de serre, heerlijk zitten, maar als het te druk is, dan hou ik het helaas niet lang vol ivm prikkels. Het lijkt wel dat mensen steeds harder gaan praten.

Hier al vaak geweest. Meestal met het gezin. Maar vorige week ook op een avond met een vriend lekker buiten gezeten. Mooie locatie, prachtig oud bruin cafe. Met goed eenvoudig restaurant.

Gisteren wilden we rond half negen nog wat gaan eten. Daarvoor gingen we naar Het Dorstige Hert. Daar aangekomen bleek de keuken eigenlijk al dicht te zijn (20:00 uur). Maar, het fantastische personeel zorgde er voor dat we TOCH wat konden eten. We kozen voor de saté en die was echt buitengewoon lekker!! Kortom, een topavond gehad mét lekker eten terwijl de keuken eigenlijk al gesloten was.. Hulde !!!

Ik zou graag een tip aan de keuken en de bediening willen geven: Zet een vlaggetje in het glutenvrije eten zodat de bediening geen fout maakt zoals bij mij!!! Dit doen veel restaurants. Ofwel de keuken moet het duidelijker maken voor de bediening (vaak jonge meisjes of jongens) dat het eten glutenvrij is. Ik ben er goed ziek geworden van verkeerd geserveerd eten helaas!! (Geen glutenallergie maar een darm ziekte die COELIAKI heet! DAN ZIJN GLUTEN GIF!)

Lekker gegeten. Nette en vlotte bediening. Beperkte kaart. Wel zeer smakelijk. Veel ruimte buiten. Dus ondanks de drukte was de ervaring rustig.
