I ordered a specific cake a week in advance. On the morning of pickup, I'm told it's not available today. Just great... Now I'm empty-handed.

I got the Spanish Vlaii from here as a send off cake for my colleagues and it was so delicious and tasty.

I’m writing this as constructive criticism based on my experience today. I ordered through Too Good To Go from Echte Bakker and arrived just 3 minutes after closing time. Having worked in a bakery myself, I understand how closing hours work… but I also know that in many cases, staff are still inside and often make small exceptions, especially for something as simple as handing over a pre-paid order. What disappointed me most was not the refusal itself, but how it was handled. There was no attempt to come to the door, no explanation, and no basic courtesy, just a signal that it was a “no go.” A moment of decency, empathy, and simple social skills would have made a big difference here. My grandmother loves this bakery, and I specifically wanted to bring her something from here today, which makes the experience even more disappointing. She came on holidays from Norway and on her last day she really wanted to have something from this place. I completely understand that rules and closing times exist. However, the lack of empathy, respect, and basic human decency is hard to understand — especially for someone who has worked in this field for years and knows how small gestures can impact customer experience. I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive spirit it’s intended: not about the policy, but about how customers are treated.

After I got bad pastry and contacted customer service about it, I was allowed to pick up a new pie. This was of very good quality. Thanks for the good service and now good quality of pastries

Paying top price for a birthday cake that you did not order... unfortunately lost a customer.

Pastries were very tasty! Definitely recommended! But the staff could be a bit friendlier and better informed about the ingredients.

Tasty bread and pastries. Friendly staff in general. The dog is rightly not allowed inside, but just like the butcher, put a hook on the wall to which you can attach the leash.

Good bakery, very UNFRIENDLY staff. Is that necessary now? Unfortunately, I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

Ordered online, they didn't have a stroopwafel cake so I added a regular cake but I didn't need this. Fortunately I was able to find something else. Too bad they didn't call about this because I placed this order a week earlier. Then I could have looked elsewhere for a similar cake. Pastries tasted great!

Beautiful store with many quality products. I had now used a voucher via social deal for oliebollen and apple fritters and I recognize myself in a previous review that handing in a voucher is treated differently. Older lady behind the counter did not exactly radiate customer friendliness, exchanged not a word, not even if you want to have a chat and wishes for a happy new year were certainly not included in the package. When I got home, it turned out that there were currants in the oliebollen while I had ordered plain and they were rock hard, certainly having been baked much earlier in the night or the day before. Next year we will go to the oliebollen stall again.

Friendly service and a very wide range. The store is also large enough that you can have a lot of personal space and not bump into each other easily.

Extensive range and almost everything really tasty. But indeed, as others say, not all the staff are friendly. Especially the older ladies can be really grumpy and unfriendly. That's not good advertising for the store.
