Eetcafé de Toog in Wijk 31 Oud Koog a/d Zaan

Wij gingen hierheen ivm verjaardag. Eten was ronduit slecht! Eens maar nooit meer. Stoofpotje was opgewarmd in de magnetron, ik weet niet wat het was maar geen stoofpotje!

We had the High wine. Was well taken care of. Tasty wines. More than enough food. Well cared for. Had a nice evening.

Het is een erg aantrekkelijke locatie om hier lekker te gaan zitten. Het broodje was oké, prijs kwaliteit was in verhouding.

Wij komen hier al jaren en zijn altijd tevreden over de kaart en het eten. Echter de prijzen zijn meer dan fors gestegen en dat overviel ons. Verder prima personeel en een goede sfeer. De cajunkruiden op de patat zorgt vaak voor veel buikklachten bij verschillende klanten. Tip: vraag om normale patat zonder kruiden.

Delicious food at De Toog at a reasonable price. Now I ate a cheese fondue, it was very tasty. Very noisy in the tent behind the café, one of my tablemates was noisy afterwards.

Today unfortunately not satisfied for the first time. The carpaccio came from the freezer and was still partly frozen, making it watery and tasteless. Hamburger was over 80% raw. The (Fresh) ginger tea had already been pre-chopped earlier today, so it had no taste. The skin was also still around it 🤔, which released even less flavor. Almost everyone at the service was friendly, except for someone who said: "the plates are not heavy". 😂 Tssss...

What a great atmosphere here. A cozy warm cafe. Staff very friendly. I had a latte and a delicious warm apple pie. But definitely going there soon to eat there. So cozy.

This is highly recommended! Beautiful monumental building. Atmosphere is really great. Nice outdoor terrace on the Zaan. Delicious dishes with a special twist. An example is an egg roll with fries on top. Large portions! You definitely get value for your money here. They're going to see me more here. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Service with capital letters.

Well, what should we say? Operation: EXCELLENT. Menu choice: more than sufficient. Other customers: very pleasant. Conviviality: very good. Whether we will come back: DEFINITELY! Minus point: we missed the Zaanze Piek beer. In other words: we had a great evening. Catering as catering should be. Simply AMAZING.

Abundant food and at a normal price. I liked the typical Dutch atmosphere and the outdoor patio overlooking the bridge, it gives it a special feel.

Wonderful and rejuvenating place. You can eat there on the banks of the Zaan on a terrace. We were so well received, the waiter took time to understand and explain us because we did not speak the same language. Thank you so much !!

I came for a cup of coffee with an older lady with dementia, but the place was not actually open yet...we were allowed to come in anyway and drank delicious cappuccino and delicious cake...super service

The designation 'diner' does not cover it all. This is simply a super restaurant! I had already surprised myself online about the extensive menu. Great variety (there really is something for everyone). Everything very tasteful and very pleasant and friendly service.

Cosy, high wine done on the Zaan

What a nice tent! We were on our bikes and luckily we were able to leave them packed next to it in the alley. A very good price/quality ratio. We had a lovely lunch on the terrace on the Zaan here!

Food was tasty. The atmosphere at the back of the (much larger than expected) terrace was pleasant. The only downside I found was that there was smoking near us. Food was tasty and service pleasant.

The food here is great, always delicious and more than enough. Wide choice of drinks. The terrace looks a bit uncomfortable in some areas.

It's always a party with Nico and the rest. Ricardo had an orange and wanted a straw. Frank was not there. Brentje was very pleasant and Jeff had eaten everything.

High tea is really not recommended. Slow service, no communication about why the rounds take so long, empty plates were not cleared and the sweet course is not exactly high tea style when everything is served on 1 plate (on top of the dirty plates).

Bijeenkomst oud collega’s Eerst lekker op terras langs de Zaan. Daarna in de tent van een mooie diner mogen genieten. Alles keurig verzorgd door de bediening vriendelijk vrolijk. Het eten ja ik heb ervan genoten en bij de buren zag het er ook lekker uit. Gewoon eens gaan en genieten

A really top restaurant, we received a friendly welcome, we had not made a reservation but were quickly assigned a table. The friendly waitresses had done their best to fulfill all dishes and wishes. We started with the drinks. The food was prepared in the meantime. The fresh fish of the day had a crispy skin and a delicious mustard sauce to enjoy. We also had the Pesto besto wide ribbon pasta and homemade basil pesto with Parmesan cheese and cream and arugula. Our dessert was a warm homemade brownie with strawberry ice cream balls and whipped cream. We had a wonderful dinner experience. Lively cozy atmosphere with family, couples and children too.

Ended up here by chance yesterday. What a nice nice tent. Top service, pleasant atmosphere, great food. In short, we would like to come here again. Keep it up

A gem behind a facade that you would just walk past....

waiting 15 minutes is not acceptable you ask for a menu and they tell you it's not there. you can only drink they don't understand English because the menu was there and when they see you leaving, they even say goodbye.

A very nice dining opportunity on the Zaan. Created more space by placing a tent outside. When the weather is nice you can sit by the water where boats pass by. Delicious food!

Best lekker geluncht bij eetcafé De Toog. Helaas was binnen al vol, dus in de tent gegeten wat minder sfeer had maar door de lampen wel aangenaam warm. De aspergesoep was prima maar met wat klonten en de friet was iets te dik en daardoor wat melig. Grote keuze aan speciaalbier. Lekkere hete koffie, vriendelijk personeel. Broodje burrata fantastisch. Komen zeker terug om ook de andere vegetarische opties te proberen en dan binnen met sfeer!

Excellent food and a wide beer selection

Love this place, so happy it is our new local pub. The prices are higher than some comparable places but the portion sizes are generous so you feel like you have eaten enough for the money. Quality is really good too. Their beer garden is a sun trap on warm days and they have a brilliant tent for the high summer when you need a bit of shade. Excellent option in Koog/Zaandam area.

The food is good. But I wanted a trio with three sandwiches 'for when you can't choose'. However, each of the three choices includes guacamole. Unfortunately I don't like this, so I asked for a croquette sandwich instead. This was not allowed on the weekend, because would it be too complicated for the cook? Then I thought, like those sandwiches are ready yet? It is not known what I will order. I found this disappointing. I was also very busy

Very stupid, but the food looked so delicious. That we forgot to take a photo. Even on a normal weekday it is still busy during lunch. All 4 of us had something different. But my chicken sandwich was so much and so delicious. Service is always friendly and fast. Highly recommended to go.

Op een zondagavond hier gegeten. Volgepakt met te kleine tafeltjes. Culinaire bites voor 2 personen. Grote berg matig bereid vlees, burger was een stukje stokbrood met een stuk kipschnitzel ertussen, veel te ver doorgebakken stuk zalm en een bakje patat. Geen salade of andere bijgerechten. Weinig culinairs aan dus. Personeel is aardig, doen hun best. Superirritant dat er elke keer als er een toetje naar een jarige gaat, knetterhard een liedje wordt afgespeeld en het hele eetcafe mee moet klappen. Een simpel eetcafé als dit, zou niet deze prijzen moeten hanteren. Kortom.. 1 keer en nooit meer.

Deze plek was altijd goed, maar gisteravond was het gewoon slecht Dit was eens maar nooit meer. Stoofpotje besteld rund… gewoon niet te eten .. opgewarmd in de magnetron.. het draadjes vlees was gemalen leek het kortom smaakloos thuis had ik het in de vuilnisbak gegooid en de ribeye was meer vet dan vlees bah heel jammer dit
