Nice café in a nice spot on the market square. Service friendly and attentive. I had a late lunch there: a meal salad with fish and shellfish. Delicious! The calamari and scampi in particular are superb, and the house wine (Chardonnay) is also very tasty. The only downside is the toilet. It is located all the way at the back, which is fine in itself, but first you have to pass the men's toilet, which apparently has no door. A row of urinals is not exactly a pleasant or inspiring sight, and the smell is also terrible. Please install a door there, preferably one with door closers so it closes automatically. And regularly pouring several liters of thick bleach into those urinals is also recommended.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A big thumbs up for Restaurant De Buren in Sittard! Yesterday, we had reserved a table for 11 people at a nearby restaurant for a family gathering. Unfortunately, upon arrival, it turned out that our reservation had been completely forgotten. There was also no possibility to sit outside, even though that was exactly what we wanted. So, we walked over to De Buren. Although we hadn't made a reservation at all, we were received with incredible hospitality. Without any effort, no fewer than 5 tables were pushed together outside so that we could all sit together comfortably. And what a wonderful afternoon it turned out to be! Delicious food, fast and friendly service, drinks served promptly, and above all, amazing hospitality. Everything was simply TOP-notch! 👌 A huge thank you to the entire team at De Buren for your flexibility, service, and hospitality. You ensured that an afternoon that briefly threatened to be disappointing ultimately turned into a wonderful and enjoyable Sunday afternoon. The staff are friendly and the food is good. The speed and attentiveness are also excellent. It is always busy, but that makes it lively.

Asked for a small container of extra garlic sauce because there was barely any on the bun, then received a small container of mayo. Pointed it out, they gave the same container back. Pointed it out again, you get a different container with mayo and some chives on top to make it look like garlic sauce. When paying, they did charge for it, and when you ask about it, the employee themselves says the recipe went wrong and it is indeed mayo, but you still have to pay for it.

Great food, nice terrace. Delicious pastries and flans from the best baker in South Limburg. It is just such a shame that the apple pie is served warm straight from the microwave (!). If you order apple pie, my advice is to definitely ask for it not to be served warm (from the microwave!), as it compromises the quality of the pastry. The cake becomes completely soft, which it shouldn't be.

The worst "welcome" imaginable! If you want to be treated like you don't exist, this is the place for you. We arrived as a large group of 11 people and stood at the entrance for a good 10 minutes. The waiter kept walking past us but didn't even bother to look at us—no "Good afternoon," no "One moment, please." Finally, we decided to go in ourselves. Inside, three bored female employees were waiting, and we had to fight hard to get their attention. We were refused a free table with the explanation that the four empty tables were reserved. The icing on the cake: Apparently, all of these tables were booked for exactly 5:00 PM. An astonishing synchronicity, almost unbelievable. We were left with the strong feeling that a large group was simply unwelcome and they were just too lazy to push the tables together. Customer service and hospitality? Non-existent. Absolutely not recommended!

What a lovely ambiance and coziness both inside and out; the staff were friendly and well-presented. Table service was also perfect; not pushy, the order was taken neatly and correctly. And we were able to start our dinner right on time. Not only did it look beautiful, but the food was exquisite; compliments to the chef. I do have one minor point, though, considering we are getting on in years and tend to spill things. The napkin included was as thin as a newspaper. That is a shame. This is because I spilled a bit, which is why I was a little short on a napkin. But otherwise, it was wonderful, thank you very much. ,

Best spareribs in town, very tender. They fall right off the bone. Simply delicious. Nice, cozy eatery with tasty lunch dishes and an excellent terrace location 👍. But the Pizza Taco is also highly recommended.

Tasty pizzas at De Buren! We had the Hot and Spicy; not too hot, nicely flavored. A bottle of water on the table (it's a shame that free tap water has gone out of fashion), a delicious virgin Spritz, a cozy terrace, and attentive service. Highly recommended.

Very pleasant and the food was delicious. Nice service, a pity the waitress forgot to take our dessert order. The music could have been a bit more background music. But overall: great.

We ate at De Buren on Friday evening during the Kennedy March weekend. Incredibly friendly staff and fast service. We both ordered pizza; despite it being very busy, my pizza arrived quickly. It turned out my partner's had gone to the wrong table. My pizza was politely taken back to the kitchen so it wouldn't get cold, and we were told we would receive the order within 10 minutes. With apologies and a bread roll on the house. Even though they were already super fast, this was handled incredibly well. The pizzas were generously topped and, for a "non-Italian restaurant," really excellent. With coffee/tea, you get a delicious piece of fudge/nougat/chocolate, more luxurious than average. On Saturday evening, after the Kennedy March, we found a table for two to finish off with warm apple pie; again, quick and tasty. We will definitely be back here if we are in the area!

Because the service at our hotel was lacking, we ventured into Sittard's city center. It was utterly deserted in late January. We ended up in a square behind the church with terraces all over, some still in their Christmas spirit. Very few people everywhere. De Buren looked very cozy, but also had few to no visitors. We sat down anyway. The terrace was very heated and decorated very attractively. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, even though there were no customers. We ordered the Deluxe Snack Platter and each of our special beers. WOW!! How amazing and delicious! We hope that next time there will be no one at De Buren, so we can enjoy the friendly service and snack platter! So if you're looking for warmth during these winter months, the lights are on at De Buren in Sittard!

It was loud, but child friendly. Loved the Lego wall, but there were many wild children playing near our table due to sitting near it. I ordered a vegan burger and got a real burger. It was hard at times to get the waiter‘s attention. My husband really loved the ribs and my mom really loved the spinach ravioli. The pizzas were okay.

The outdoor seating area looks lovely at Christmastime. We got a table without a reservation, and the service was friendly; the food was okay. I'd say the salad had mayonnaise instead of dressing, but perhaps it was some kind of dressing. The Aperol was unfortunately just water with a tiny splash of Aperol; I've never experienced it like that before. The restrooms were a complete disaster, filthy beyond belief.

Given all the positive reviews, we chose this place, but we weren't exactly lucky. The food (stew) was terribly salty, the appetizer (squid rings) was more breadcrumbs than squid. The onion soup was good. We had bottles of red wine and simply requested a carafe of tap water. They refused, but they did serve very expensive bottles of still water. The schnitzels were mediocre. But one of us had Spaetzle Ribs, which were really good. Bottles of sparkling water: tiny, 0.20cl. Loud music, which was turned down at our request. The service was generally friendly.

Very fast service, the food was excellent and certainly plentiful. We came with a group of 26 people, as we'd been there several times as a couple and knew you'd be in good company at De Buren. Better a good neighbor than a distant friend.

September 18 We sat down on the patio when the waiter came over, face down in their shoes, and started spraying the table with window cleaner or something similar. She sprayed us all over too. When I mentioned spraying the cloth, she said, "Nobody normally sits here." No apology, nothing at all. What are you doing then? Another young person who doesn't care. Just stay home!

A cozy terrace with friendly staff and comfortable seating. Excellent bistro menu with a varied selection. It's still a challenge to eat such a huge hamburger neatly; I usually prefer the flatter, more bite-sized burgers.

The carpaccio starter is good, the mushrooms and squid rings are less so; small and on the greasy side. Expectations are high when you read the menu. The spare ribs are very good. It's a shame they don't offer a small salad with any dish. The pizza crust is good, but too much cheese for my taste. The vegetarian burger is poor; the bun wasn't toasted, the cheese wasn't melted, and the zucchini wasn't cooked through. You don't get mayonnaise, but fries sauce. The fries come with it. It's cozy, the staff is very friendly, but too expensive for the quality of the food. Drink prices have skyrocketed; that's the case throughout Sittard. It's a shame. For dessert (a slice of cake from Peter Lemmens), they charge €7.50. So we went for a delicious ice cream at Elao Rebel.

I learned about this restaurant through my daughter. It's fantastic. They have a wide selection on the menu. Everything I've eaten so far has been delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommended. Also good to know: they serve delicious cocktails. It's a great place to relax, both indoors and outdoors. The staff is also very friendly. Parking nearby isn't available, however. You'll have to go a bit further for that, but it's worth it.

I really enjoy eating there after shopping. Not only does the atmosphere look nice and comfortable, but the staff is also extremely friendly. The food is delicious, and you don't have to wait too long.
