I used to like going to Emma's, but after what I experienced today, I won't anymore! The owner went completely berserk with an old woman who happened to park in the spot he was planning to. "Crazy people" and "I'm going to kill you" were all over the place. After I told him to calm down, he turned on me and went completely berserk. It got worse and worse; the man had completely lost touch with reality! The woman's car was hit several times because she wouldn't move it. Everyone there was a bunch of "cancerous racists." The man had to be restrained by ten men and dragged back into his shop. I briefly went into the supermarket, and the police arrived, and he yelled at him again. Absurd behavior from someone with a successful business! Never, ever again for me!

Placed an order at 4:00 pm for 5:30 pm and 2 hours later still no food then you call those slow guests they say yes it will be there shortly and then they make you wait another hour.

Fast delivery food was really delicious tjauwmin with Javanese chicken, roti roll chicken Moksi meti really recommended!!

We ordered and paid through Thuisbezorgd, but never received the delivery. The restaurant called to cancel the order, and they said we'd receive a refund through Thuisbezorgd. Annoying, but we politely agreed to this. In the end, they didn't handle anything with Thuisbezorgd and simply took our money! So we paid for nothing.

I will never order from here again, I ordered roti and a barra. You could squeeze the barra and the potatoes in the roti were just RAW... I called and they wanted to deliver a container of potatoes afterwards... hahaha I asked for a refund but unfortunately they don't give a damn about you... rude

We just got takeout from Emma's Kitchen. We had to wait over 25 minutes for two meals. It wasn't particularly busy. When we got home, the roti plate hadn't been put in the bag, and I was given three stale potatoes crammed into a small container. I'll never come here again. Waste of money.

I didn't get my food until an hour and a half later than I ordered. I won't be getting your food here. The sandwiches were limp, as were the fries. And after such a long wait, they even forgot the mayo.

Wow, oh my!! We ordered food at 6:30 PM, it's only 9:00 PM and we still haven't received anything. Last time it took over an hour and a half as well. This was definitely the last time we ordered from them.

First time ordering; never again. I had to wait four hours for the food, despite calling three times. I ordered at 5 p.m., called at 7:15 p.m. and asked where it was: the delivery driver would be coming our way in 20 minutes. I called twice more after that; both times it was on its way. At 9 p.m., the doorbell rang and they offered to refund half of the amount I paid. We sent it back; we'd already arranged other food, so I expect a refund. Such a waste of your time and ours. Update 2 weeks later: I still haven't received my refund despite asking twice.

Good day, I was a regular customer at Emma's until today. The staff there can't make two different sandwiches for you because this always goes wrong. Today I went to Emma's again to get food, but there was no staff present. After waiting 5 minutes, more customers came in and approached me. I wasn't helped, but the customers who came in were helped. You'll never see me again. From Johan van Bosstadtweewielers, the bicycle shop on the square.

Horrible! I had to wait almost two hours for my delivery. Look how my bags were delivered... my bakabana was stuck to the bag and rock hard! Who puts bakabana in a bag? Instead of a container! Waste of money! Never again!

Had delicious food delivered on my birthday, it was perfectly organised!

Such a bummer... After waiting 4.5 hours for our order the last time, no one answered the phone that time either, we tried again. Unfortunately, it arrived more than two hours after the chosen delivery time, and the order was also incorrect. We received nasi instead of Surinamese bami. We called because we deliberately chose the bami and were told they could deliver it, but that it would take at least another two hours. Apparently, customer service is lacking, especially with an order of 60 euros.

Super tasty and good food at Emma's. Not always the fastest delivery times, but always good food, so it's worth the wait.

Delivery is apparently a known problem at Emma's Kitchen. requested times are certainly not met and when you call about it the delivery person really just leaves. Ordered online. Quite skeptical about Surinamese food, because at home you prefer to make it yourself so let's try it. I think they are better than the other places in Purmerend. Ordered: Roti roll chicken (thicker dough than I'm used to, but super richly filled and easy to tear off the edges to eat/fold food), chicken curry sandwich and spring roll (spring roll sauce more than you get elsewhere and with a bit of pepper in it 💕✨). All were richly filled, good taste (I really like that) and nice and warm. I was sick myself and felt better immediately after the "warm hug" 🤗 of the food. Pepper was included and was enough for me, because I was sick so my stomach was a bit sensitive, but if you like pepper I would definitely ask for an extra bag. Delivery took longer than Thuiszorgd indicated (not a big deal, but I prefer it to be accurate if I still want to do something and I don't mind waiting a long time for GOOD food!), but it doesn't matter in a Surinamese place: Haste makes waste...not good food 😏🤭.

Took 2.5 hours for the food to arrive and it was cold! Called them to ask how that was possible! Eventually I was allowed to send a tikkie and ask for half the money back. Well you guessed it no money received!!!! What bad service!!!!!!

Telo with bakkeljauw came without bakkeljauw. An hour after delivery they delivered it, but by then the visitors, who had already had the dry telo, had already left.

My husband ordered a meat dish with rice but there were only 6 small pieces of meat with more bone and sawn than meat, I had a vegetable dish with satay sauce but there was no rice. Lousy service. You come to pick up your order, after waiting 10 minutes they ask if they can help you, but they don't know anything about your order... We order for a reason because they are super slow. Not the first time something goes wrong. I'll never come again!

Food was fine, only satay sauce was forgotten on the chicken menu. Delivery takes 50 minutes, but we live 10 km away so fast enough. Price quality okay.

I can't rate the food because now 2 hours after ordering, they have set their phone to voice mail! I called them after 1:15 minutes (despite the restaurant stating that the restaurant delivers in 50 minutes) and asked them for an update. He indicated that he was busy and that they would pick up the order in 10 minutes. It would still be a maximum in total last 30 minutes. It's now been another 50 minutes and I haven't heard anything from them. If you call the restaurant now, you will receive a voice mail. So now more than 2 hours later, no food, and no idea if we will get it or when. Totally inappropriate NOT to serve your customers like this. We have been very patient and have a lot of respect for crowds, but if it is too busy, you simply have to put a stop on new orders. This really isn't possible.

Today I thought, I'll order one somewhere else. I come to Emma's kitchen. I have been waiting for two hours now and have already called twice. It's coming, they said half an hour ago. Well not.....I will never order anything from here again. This kitchen may close soon.

Finally a real Surinamese cuisine, definitely recommended

I literally received burnt food, and just two pieces that were only bone, and you can of course cover satay with sauce, but if you take a bite and you taste burnt meat (black) then you are doing the wrong thing, such a shame because they BBQ was always tasty plus point, the sparerib was good and very cooked, fries too salty and very lukewarm, delivery also took more than an hour, I even called for that, I am disappointed this time

Very hospitable staff who help you with your meal or just for a tasty bite, you can always have a chat with the friendly employees. Definitely recommended to satisfy your hunger, you can always find good food here, I always get my chicken sandwich there, very tasty and a menu offer on Fridays Definitely recommended for young and old

The roti roll was definitely not lamb masala! They were dry pieces of lamb, there were still 'hard' pieces in them and I cannot recommend this dish in any case. It was more rotivel than meat or long beans! I also didn't really understand that they also sold hair salon and pasta carbonara? Those are not Surinamese dishes. Maybe don't mix the cuisines... I can't say much about the atmosphere, it is a takeaway restaurant. It all took a very long time too. No success, very disappointing.

Paid 62.50 for 2 xl meatlovers and 2 lovers. Food was delivered after an hour and fifteen minutes. Pasta no taste at all Meat is more muscle and fat and the taste is not good. Literally both portions 2 to 3 bites and what you see in the photo is what everything looked like before I put it in the trash. 62.50 euros poorer and still hungry. Smint in my mouth to get the bad taste out of my mouth. This was honestly the worst thing I have ever eaten.

Fine roti chicken, very tasty. Just ask as standard if the customer wants pepper with it. Twice at home I found out that there was no pepper, but it tastes a lot better with pepper.

One time I didn't feel like cooking, we were late doing the shopping and walked past Emma's kitchen. Well that sounds quite charming. Unfortunately it wasn't that charming inside, because the woman who helped us was not at all friendly. There was actually no explanation. The choice had to be made quickly and questions were not really appreciated. Was actually about to leave the business, but hey, that's something. At home, still somewhat hopeful, I opened the two containers and scooped them up. It actually didn't look very attractive. A mountain of brownish rice and noodles. Both are present in abundance Not much else really. The eggs that actually belonged there were gone, but the amount of vegetables was also not left. Then it might still taste quite nice and some people might think so, but then they have to like salt, a lot of salt. Now that I have listed this, the two star rating is actually a bit much. No more Emma's kitchen for us, we'll just cook ourselves, then we'll eat a little later.

Ordered food online. Kapsalon BBQ chicken with satay sauce is really tasty! Large portion and enough meat. Highly recommended. However, the eksi koekoe or cake was disappointing. The bottom of the cake was hard or rubbery at the bottom. And as you can see from the photos, there were also lumps of flour in the cake. I would say don't sell cake anymore. A piece of cake costs €4 each. I ordered 2 pieces. Wasn't worth the €8.

Worst service ever. Ordered at 6:20 PM. 7:30 PM but was called to find out how long it would take. It was indicated on the telephone that the order was ready and the delivery person would leave shortly. The bara we ordered turned out to be gone, was a sandwich also good? Fine for us. Called again at 8:10 PM, the delivery person would have been on his way for a while so he would really arrive soon. 8:25 PM still nothing, so I called again. Being told that the chicken is gone, so did I want lamb?! So the order had not yet been made, let alone on its way. It would be appreciated if this was told honestly the first time you called. Now we have waited two hours for an order that was said to be "on its way" several times, while this was not the case at all. Ordered roti for the first time, never ate roti that bad, never again

Today I tried Emma's roti for the 2nd time after I was very dissatisfied the 1st time. This time we decided to go to the restaurant itself instead of having it delivered at home. This was one of the best roti I have eaten in a long time. Everything was fresh, wonderfully prepared and it tasted genuinely delicious. On the right track !

I have ordered from them the last 2 times and the service I received is super bad, The first time I had to wait almost 4 hours for my food The second time I received 2 vouchers of €10 each and I was told that I could use those 2 vouchers at the same time. Ordered here for the first (and last) time today. I was first called to say that several things were out of stock and if this could be replaced, this could easily be done. But the potato wedges I got were lukewarm, the bara was absolutely not fresh, and the curry chicken sandwich just had a few grill marks on it, but the dough was still raw and really inedible! The delivery person was also on time and very friendly, and they were also very friendly on the telephone and apologized for the missing dishes, therefore 2 stars.

Very old and dirty food, very small portions. Cold barbecue chicken and barely any chicken. Roti cold, very little food. Tjauwmin was cold and old and very dirty. Had to wait 2 hours, so all in all it was a waste of time and money!! Save your money and don't order anything here. Very expensive and very bad food.

Order placed on a normal weekday. I called 4 times and each time 'the delivery person was already on his way'. The delivery person only arrived 2.5 (!) hours after placing the order. Order refused, but the delivery person said I couldn't get my money back. I have contacted Thuisbezorgd and they will give me my money back. EDIT: The owner's answer says it all: 'UNFORTUNATELY, even on a normal weekday it can be extremely busy here.'

They serve lovely Indian food. They are my go to place when I want to order in. Their portions are filling and tasty, in some cases enough to share. The delivery is really quick in about 30 minutes I'm eating.

The most delicious foods! Service with a smile. Always a clean store and good price/quality ratio. The Kapsalon is definitely recommended, this is not a Kapsalon as you know it!
