I love this magical atmosphere, the drinks are good

Already open earlier and a lovely place for the children to play.

August 30, 2025, very poor food! Nothing wrong with the park itself, always one of my favorite parks in the Netherlands, but I was extremely disappointed with the food! Normally, I get something small and simple, and nothing wrong with it, but this time we decided to grab a bite at Fabula, and I've never been so disappointed with my park food! First, our order was wrong, which was resolved very quickly and efficiently, but we had to wait 30 minutes for our food, and it was practically stone cold! It was also absolutely awful! The burgers were cold and limp, and the rosemary fries were even worse than the limp fries from McDonald's! This was honestly a huge disappointment for the long wait and the price you paid! This definitely needs to be looked into! (As Niels Kooiman would say!). I really expected more for my money; there's no way I'll be doing this a second time! For a 30-minute wait, I definitely expected hot and good food, not a worse, bland meal than McDonald's! A bit of a shame, Efteling!

My family and I ordered burgers, rice with curry and some kind of giardiniera, and steamed fish with couscous. As soon as we tasted it, we had to throw it away. The staff was friendly but a bit unprepared. They only had olive oil as a dressing for the salad. If you want to eat well, take a stroll to the pancake restaurant in front of Symbolica. That's real food!

We had coffee here before and that’s fine. But this time I ordered a meal menu with rice and yellow curry for lunch. I was shocked by the price. Especially for what I got served (1 drink, the rice with curry and a small pancake/bread thing and a small salad for 18,70 euros). And for that price they don’t even bring it to your table. And they even forgot to give me the salad. These prices are getting out of hand. I have a photo of the meal box (though I already ate the pancake/bread thing). I won’t order this meal menus anymore here till they cut some of the price (it’s worth 12 or maybe 13 euros maximum). The playground for the kids is awesome by the way. That’s the reason for the 4 star atmosphere.

Need to add more nutrition on the menu that is "edible".

If the attractions open at 10:00 am, the Fabula Savannebar will be open at 9:00 am. Here you can start the day in the Efteling with coffee, tea and soft drinks. You can also get cake, muffins and apple pie, apple turnovers, gravy sandwiches or satay sandwiches here. Nice seating areas in the room where the children can play.

The staff (which was understaffed) couldn't handle the order. We ended up with a hamburger and fries, which ended up in the trash after one bite. Unbelievably bad! On top of that, we both ended up in bed with stomach aches. The service, quality, and hygiene here are seriously subpar. Not Efteling standards! Stay away!

Very limited and rather special selection. Small portions, but very expensive. Not again!

Poorly cooked fries, pasta cooked way too long and way too expensive for what it is. In addition, I had a night with a stomach ache afterwards, so it's best to stay away from here!

Not enough staff for good service. Cashier also had to do preparations.

Slow and unfriendly service, no sauce on my burger and soft undercooked fries. Not recommended.

It's nice that vegan options are offered, but the execution is very disappointing: undercooked, soggy fries, salad is served with only 1 cherry tomato, 1/2 radish and arugula without dressing, and the veggie burger was served without sauce, the staff is unfriendly and absolutely not customer-oriented and all this for a very high price. Although the decoration of the restaurant is very beautiful, I would prefer to choose a different place to eat in the Efteling next time.
