I now live in the Achterhoek, but I still miss this bakery every day. Jolanda and her team are the most friendly salespeople I have ever encountered, and everything is absolutely delicious and fresh. Thanks for all the years of keeping bread aside for us; bags full of wally's! All the best!

Super nice bakery. Even though I have moved to another part of the city, I still come here to get my loaves of bread to freeze. Never found such good bread anywhere as at Straathof. Also nice ladies behind the counter.

It's a bakery. I get my bread there every Saturday. And of course I always take something tasty with me. The atmosphere and service are always top notch. It's always busy, that says it all, but before you know it it's your turn. And what they sell... I haven't tasted everything yet, but what I did eat was very tasty and of good quality. Therefore 5 STARS!

Closes super early, like by 4:30 every day, I can never make it with work. Even when it is sunny and busy on the market and they still have stock. Super frustrating.

Lekker vers, maar wel aan de duurdere kant.

Beste bakker van oud west. Zowel brood als gebak, alles is lekker. Wel jammer dat ze niet meer op maandag op de markt staan.

Lekker noten brood, helaas nog maar 1 in de kar

Stayed in Amsterdam a few days around the corner of the market where this bakery is located. We went there on Saturday morning and there was an impressive line of people waiting to get their baked goods. In front of me was a woman explaining to some kids why they were waiting in such a long line. She told them, and me, that this place had the best bread in the neighbourhood, everything baked fresh by themselves. I bought some whole grain, some sausage roles (saucijzenbroodjes), a croissant and this flaky thing filled with spinach and cheese. All was very nice, the puff pastry was top notch and the spinach cheese role was very popular. Besides all this, the people behind the counter were very friendly, extremely helpful, they took their time even with a long line (or there is a long line because they take their time, I'm not sure) and they gave a bunch of helpful suggestions. It was a great start of the day and it made us feel quite welcome in the city. Totally worth the wait, and I dislike lines quite a bit. So that's saying something.
