Fort NOXX in Hoofddorp

Friendly atmosphere, cozy restaurant, highly recommended.

We had made a reservation for two at 6:00 PM on May 30, 2026, at Fort Noxx Hoofddorp. We were able to park in a small adjacent parking lot (blue zone until 6:00 PM). The establishment features a fairly extensive terrace, which is a pleasant place to be on sunny days. The restaurant is accessible via stairs on the first floor, but guests with limited mobility can make use of a—albeit goods—lift, accompanied by staff. The restaurant is atmospheric and spaciously laid out with an open kitchen, although the chairs without armrests felt somewhat uncomfortable after a while. The small tables for two are also a bit on the cramped side. Remarkable: there were no menus in the folders; the plastic sleeves were empty…? We opted for the advertised Chef's Menu. The dishes served were beautifully presented on the plates, and the portions were sufficient for the average diner. However, apart from the piri prawns as a starter, the other dishes were of good quality but, in our opinion, very bland in taste—a bit bordering on tasteless—a pity, or was the piri in the starter the cause? The service was prompt, professional, and courteous. It was remarkably quiet in the restaurant; the dishes arrived quickly upon request. The pricing was on the high side, 50 euros+ per person, partly because the chef's menu did not include the side dishes, which were charged separately. All in all: a rating of 4. We had expected a little more from the kitchen, but it remains an establishment in a special historical location.

Went there with the team recently; the service was terrible. The steak didn't taste good, so they made it again, but it still didn't taste good. There was clearly something wrong with the meat. Instead of offering something else, they said they didn't want to take it off the bill. They only wanted to offer the same cut of meat again. You would think they would want to keep a group of ten people happy, but certainly not here. I would not recommend eating here.

The meat was lukewarm and overcooked....chicken satay was very greasy....glasses were empty but no one came to ask if you wanted anything else. The carpaccio and salmon were fine though! Unfortunately, a bad first experience here.

I wasn't here on Saturday. My girlfriend was sick.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing visit to Fort Noxx this afternoon. We had made a reservation for lunch (11 people). An annual outing with volunteers. Upon arrival, there was a bit of a surprise. The table was not set, and we were informed that there would be live music that afternoon. Something that, unfortunately, had not been mentioned beforehand. We now had about 1.5 hours until the music was due to start. In the meantime, the place filled up with music lovers, not regular lunch visitors. We certainly did not feel at ease, and a normal conversation was difficult given the noise. A pleasant afternoon that turned into a disappointment. No negative comments regarding the service or the food. A message beforehand could have prevented the disappointment. For us, the service team, and the other visitors alike. Apologies have been made, but this is nothing more than cold comfort. This does not do the trust in the hospitality industry any good. Customer experience must come first, something the service team failed to achieve this time.

We went to Fort Noxx for the cheese fondue and chicken satay. Unfortunately, there was a new menu without this being announced on the website, causing all the usual options to disappear. There were only meat and fish options, with no vegetarian options for my girlfriend. I was shocked by all the unusual dishes (squid, guinea fowl, steak...) and therefore asked for the salmon – from the kids' menu. Unfortunately, this was not allowed. Additionally, the waiting times were very long. We received a free portion of fries as compensation, but they ended up on the bill anyway. All in all, many disappointments in one evening. Such a shame for our long-awaited night out.

Last Saturday, we dined at Fort Noxx with six people. Before we arrived, we were told that this was the first day they would be working with a new menu. You naturally take into account the possibility of some delays; on the other hand, the menu is fairly limited, so that should actually work efficiently in terms of purchasing and preparation. Ordering and the serving of a bread roll beforehand went smoothly, the starter took a bit longer (the salmon we ordered was unfortunately sold out, but salmon for the main course was still available?), but we had to wait an unacceptably long time for the main course. We asked and complained repeatedly but each time without result. The wait staff are really nice, but apparently cannot get information from, or exert influence on, the kitchen. They also do not communicate proactively (if you promise that the food will “really arrive” in fifteen minutes, and that unexpectedly doesn't happen, it is nice if you just let us know with a new expected time). In between, I spoke briefly with some guests sitting in a separate room with a large group; at that point (having been inside for almost 2 hours), they hadn't even had a starter yet, so we weren't the only ones who were dissatisfied. Eventually, we had had enough and decided to leave without a main course. We made this known to the wait staff, and to be honest, we got quite angry, but then it turned out the food could be served after another fifteen minutes (the restaurant was practically empty by then). Unfortunately, the quality of the food was substandard, despite the enormous preparation time. I understand that a new menu can cause some teething problems, but if a steak (meat of mediocre quality, by the way) cannot simply be cooked medium rare, and if fries cannot be fried properly, then something is fundamentally wrong. The location is beautiful but deserves a (much) better kitchen and service that knows what is happening in that kitchen and responds to it in their communication with guests. It had been a few years since I ate here, and I am also happy to let quite a few years pass before I try it again.

Good food in an historical fort ! Very cozy and industrial too.... If a lot of people...sound can carry a bit more than a normal restaurant....

The restaurant itself is a very unique and cozy place. The atmosphere inside the old bunker is really special and creates a great setting for a dinner. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to the expectations. We had booked the “Sharing Dining” menu in advance online, but when we arrived it seemed like this had not been checked. We were given the regular menu and had to remind the staff what we had booked. We were also asked about drinks almost immediately after sitting down, before we had even received a menu. The staff were friendly, but the service felt rushed and somewhat unorganized. For example, the starter included a soup but we were not given spoons. When we asked for one, it was forgotten and we had to ask another waiter. The starter was actually the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the main course was disappointing. The fish itself was fine, but the skin was not crispy and was still served on the plate, which was surprising. The pumpkin risotto was watery, overcooked and lacked flavor. The meat was very tough and almost raw, and we were never asked how we would like it cooked. There is an open kitchen where you can see the food being prepared, but it looked like everything was simply cooked in the oven. We never saw anything being prepared in a pan. The fish, meat and vegetables all seemed to come straight from the oven, which might explain why the fish skin was not crispy and why the meat lacked flavor. From the dining area we could also see the kitchen staff using their phones while wearing gloves and then continuing to work without changing them. One of the chefs was not wearing gloves at all, which of course can be completely fine if hands are washed properly, but we did not see this happen during the time we were watching. Another small detail was that the red wine was poured at the bar instead of at the table, which felt unusual for a restaurant at this level. We also ordered water at the beginning, but it never arrived. It was not on the bill either, so it seems it was simply forgotten. Dessert was also disappointing. The cheesecake tasted mostly like cream and cinnamon with very little flavor. The best part of the dessert was actually the ice cream, which seemed store-bought. The crème brûlée was okay. Overall, the staff were kind and it seemed like our waiter might have been new, but several things were forgotten and the service felt rushed. The location and atmosphere are great, but the food and service unfortunately did not match the setting. When the bill arrived in a box suggesting tips, it felt a bit strange considering the overall experience.

Very nice restaurant. We went at a bit of an odd time, 3:30 PM, but there was plenty of choice, very good service, and a nice bonus was being able to look around the fort! A very special place.

Nice, large brasserie in an authentic old fort in the center of Hoofddorp.

The monthly three-course menu is delicious and well-presented. The jazz performance is also enjoyable and quite lively. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

Wedsbybembregts Wedding Photography In May 2025, I had the pleasure of capturing a wedding here at the top of the fort. What an incredibly cool setting and stunning view. A truly beautiful Dutch scene. We had a wonderful meal and celebrated!

The location itself is beautiful. Upon arrival, there was a jazz band playing their last song, so we had to wait a bit for a table. The friendly and helpful staff explained the menu well. Due to time constraints, I skipped the appetizer, but the main course was beautifully presented and very tasty. I had the salmon, followed by dessert. The total cost for 4 people was excellent.

We had dinner and a party there. Excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere.

Fantastic atmosphere and vibe. There was a jazz band performing in the early Sunday afternoon and it filled up with a bunch of locals who were dancing and having a great time it was really fantastic.

I was the master of ceremonies at a wedding at this fantastic venue. We were so well looked after by Martin, Nancy, and their staff. From the early start of the day until well after, we were pampered, and all our questions and ad hoc adjustments to the program (which always arise on such a day) were immediately discussed and implemented. A special shout out to Rijk, a young man who's already mastering the hospitality industry! I recommend Fort Noxx to anyone celebrating!

What a fantastic place to have your wedding. From the first meeting to the day itself, it feels so comfortable. The staff are wonderful and know how to organize a wedding. On the day itself, they have a great crew that really makes you feel festive. The food was delicious and more than enough. And the venue itself is very photogenic (see the photos). They also recommended a band to us (Brand New Jam) who made it a fantastic party. All in all, a fantastic experience!

We all found the food mediocre. There's also room for improvement regarding hospitality (conversation at the table, etc.). It's a charming venue, though (very cleverly done for an old concrete bunker). The acoustics could also be improved.

Great restaurant with excellent food and service. I ordered the salmon, dish of the day, and it was fantastic. The salmon was cooked perfectly, served with vegetables that complemented it beautifully. All the flavors worked really well together. Highly recommended!

The fish was fine, but it was 3 pieces of raw beetroot, 1 Brussels sprout, a piece of cauliflower, a wilted piece of lettuce, and a portion of fries, which had to be paid for separately. No appetizer or dessert, 1 wine, and 1 soft drink cost around €61. A terrible experience, not to be repeated!

We made a reservation in advance for four people. When we arrived, we were told they needed to make a table for us; it felt like our reservation hadn't even been confirmed. While we were waiting, another group of four arrived, and they were immediately seated, which was strange. After that, things just didn't improve for the rest of the evening. The menu was forgotten. Drinks were forgotten. Food was forgotten. Which, once we finally got it, was delicious. I don't know if we'll come back. A lot can go wrong in an evening, but acknowledge it and just say sorry. You don't have to pay anything in return, but the ladies' attitude was as if we were a nuisance. If only we were, they would have served us, but they forgot...

We had a wonderful lunch with excellent service. It was very tasty, and the M&M cheesecake was a delicious and creative way to end the meal. 👍

Cool!!! What you can make of a bunker!!!!!!

This is one of the 40 forts built between 1880 and 1920 to protect the city and Amsterdam. It's a brutalistic building that has been turned into one of the best restaurants in the Netherlands. I had the tomato soup and the entrecote. Both were well made and absolutely delicious. Don't pass on the pepper sauce !

A very bad experience. We made a reservation at 6:30. The starter was too cold. The main course, the cod, was too dry and, like everything else on the plate, was drowned in the sauce. We opted for the chef's menu, but the dessert (lemon tart with blood orange ice cream) was no longer available (they had run out of ice cream). From 8:00 PM onward, the cleaning was in full swing. The open kitchen was being scrubbed and scoured, and the smell of chlorine wafted from behind the bar. Add to that the very rushed service and the falling of things... we won't be back.

Cozy place, and safe from a potential drone attack 😛 Food very spicy and salty: 1 (!) satay stick with spicy vegetables and fries. Dame Blanche for €10 with 3 scoops of ice cream, fake whipped cream, and a bit too little chocolate sauce. Friendly service.

We received a polite apology and an explanation for the previous reservation error. This time we had a super fun and delicious evening. The food was delicious, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. Definitely recommended if you want an evening of good food in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere.

I expected more from the menu, and the waitress forgot everything. Even my salt and pepper for the omelet, which was almost cold by the time it was served.

Wanting to dine there but arriving late, I was pleasantly welcomed by very friendly, smiling staff. The setting is relaxing and really pretty, atypical.

We had a unique experience at Fort Noxx, and not in a particularly positive way. We arrived at the Fort intending to enter an open, bright, cozy restaurant/brasserie with a pleasant atmosphere. It turned out to be a small outdoor area (directly on the left upon arrival) with a corresponding, very small, dark area with a few tables. The man who welcomed us himself suggested it would be better to sit outside because "it's not very cozy inside." We ordered a starter, main course, and dessert. All three were mediocre. There was no real depth of flavor. The meat wasn't particularly tender, the vegetables with the main course were tough and tasteless, and the desserts seemed to have been prepared far in advance and had lost their lightness, making them very filling, which was a shame. After a few courses, a toilet visit was necessary, and upon arriving at the restroom, I was quite shocked. It felt like I was back in elementary school with the open cubicles and swinging doors. The restroom hygiene wasn't exactly great either, but that might have been due to a visitor who wasn't feeling well. All in all, the restroom could definitely use a serious overhaul. Probably nice as an event venue, but we won't be returning for the food.

What a crappy place! It's July 25, 2025, July 26, 2025, this is happening again! In the middle of a residential area, next to a hospice, with absolutely no respect for the neighbors or the environment, they're playing sounds that pretend to be music that NO ONE wants to hear! Why are you letting everyone enjoy it? I find this truly bizarre and antisocial! Stop this! Don't do this in a residential area, and especially not next to a hospice!

On a sunny day, we had a work outing. The entire department went first for activities and then for food and drinks. It was a beautiful location, and it was special to see it as part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. Bunkers and defense of the capital. Good food, spacious, and unique, right in the heart of Hoofddorp.

We had a lovely meal outside. The service was good, the young man was friendly and helpful. We had steak and chicken satay. The vegetables with the chicken satay didn't look appetizing. They seemed overcooked and tasted nothing special. I left them, which was a shame. The menu described stir-fried vegetables. I had a different impression. A bit more bite instead of a soggy mess.

A very friendly waiter who didn't use the phrase "we don't have this," gave us a nice glass of wine outside the selection, and also understood that we weren't in a hurry. We had the sharing bread and Camembert as a starter, followed by the main course of entrecote and satay, simply delicious. It was indeed different three years ago. Thank you, and see you next time.

A beautiful, unique location, a large fort with a cozy restaurant inside and a lovely terrace outside. The staff is mostly very young and seems to have no structure. I didn't find the food special. It was fine, but nothing more.

Had dinner yesterday and I was positively surprised. Amazing location and atmosphere. They have also bands playing and hold quizzes if not mistaken. Nice experience, we sat outdoors

It's not the location, food, or staff that's the problem. It's the owner/manager who ruins the atmosphere with his grumpy remarks. He has no idea what customer service is, let alone service. Too bad, you won't see us there anymore with a small pan of fries for €5.50 🤔

Informed in advance that we had limited time. (2 hours) as yet only had a dish, which we had to wait endlessly for. When this was cleared away there was no more time to eat and we just left... (Unfortunately this was the 2nd time here that we had to wait a very long time, for everything) So if you go out for an evening, don't eat here.

Burgers, steak and sweet potato fries are really great. Food is simple in a good way, good ingredients, great technique - it just works. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We will be back.

Super nice place with great live music!

Had a lovely meal outside with pleasant frog sounds, water birds and the trauma helicopter. Service was friendly and relaxed. Again far too few vegetables; 2 green asparagus and chopped seasonal vegetables which together was no more than 2 tablespoons. The extra ordered sweet potato fries were nice and crispy. My entrecote was supposed to be medium rare, but was more like medium. A bit too dry. The garlic sauce and green pepper sauce, was one same brown sauce in two containers. In one container they had added some garlic and in the other A few green peppercorns. But not enough to taste more than the brown sauce itself. I don't send food back unless it is completely inedible, but I have certainly eaten better for this price.

Unfortunately, keeping time was not the quality of our waiter. And by conviviality we ourselves not. Therefore only able to enjoy a starter!

Really nice open space with natural Fort and also indoor and outdoor restaurant, perfect for birthday, wedding , romantic. Dog are allowed, they prepare also water for dog. Sate with black Keroepuk must try. They said it's Squid ink. Well presentation for the food. Busy time will be take longer time for your order., but enjoy whenever you stay there.

It is a beautiful place, in a quiet and pleasant environment. In summer it is surely perfect to meet with friends.

Amazing experience for my husband’s birthday. First time to visit here and we were blown away. Place is packed with locals so you know that it is high quality food! 😋 We tried their 3-course-meal for two adults, risotto and burger for the kids. We especially love their dessert samplers. The ambiance was very cozy, with Sinterklaas decors that time so great photo experience for the kids. Reservation is highly recommended.

Today I had lunch at this special catering company located in Fort Noxx. (Amsterdam Defense Line). Small but excellent lunch menu with delicious lunch dishes. Fast, nice service and a beautiful terrace at the front. Nice place to visit while walking or cycling. Also rooms for parties, weddings or meetings. Good kitchen, bar and clean nice toilets! I am a very satisfied customer.

Delicious food! Food was really delicious, staff also friendly, but what we found super annoying was that every 5 minutes we were asked if we wanted something to drink, while all the glasses were still full. For dessert we ordered tea and 1 lady blanche, nothing else and we still asked twice if we wanted something to drink. Super annoying, especially when you're in a good conversation.

Vanavond voor de tweede keer hier gegeten. Tuna Tartare (voorgerecht) en zalmfilet (hoofdgerecht) waren heerlijk! De zalm boterzacht. Ten opzichte van mijn vorige ervaring in 2024 vond ik deze keer minder. Niet door het eten maar wel door de service. Als de bediening om de paar minuten aan tafel komt om te vragen of we nog wat willen drinken, is dat echt ‚too much‘ !! En dat terwijl de glazen nog halfvol zijn en we midden in een gesprek zijn. En de Roseval aardappels bij de zalm vervangen door frietjes lukte na enig uitleg wel - ik heb alleen nog nooit meegemaakt dat je hiervoor extra moet betalen. Hopelijk lezen ze de recensie en trekken ze hieruit de conclusie dat er nog wat verbeteringspuntjes te halen zijn om van ons gezelschap de volle score te krijgen.

Invited by friends for dinner. The third visit for them, and the first for us. Surprising location, where good use has been made of the special atmosphere that such an old fort creates. Friendly employees and good cuisine, with a price:quality ratio that is absolutely right. Well, there's nothing more to say about that. So go there and (also) discover!

Ideal venue for a wedding or party

Special atmosphere. You simply have to taste it once!

Yesterday we celebrated our 12.5 years of marriage with a small group. The food was delicious and the service very friendly! Just a pity that we had a high table (not very convenient with some elderly people). In addition, one half looked straight into the kitchen, nice to see but not very attractive. There was also a cold draft from the kitchen, which made it quite chilly on your back. I asked for another table, but this was not possible due to other reservations, but no one ever sat at that table. It was a nice evening, but with a small blemish on our holiday.

Don't. Uninterested, ignorant and unlistening staff. Definitely nice girls but unsuitable for working in the catering industry. Potentially nice location, unfortunately everything falls short in the execution.

What a noise last Saturday in this restaurant. Requested a rare bavet [clearly indicated to the service] served medium with 3 Brussels sprouts as vegetables, sweet potato fries were no longer available at 7:30 PM. I would say go to La Croute at village street 114 in Warmond, you can learn something from there.

The eight of us had dinner last Saturday evening. Service super fast and friendly. Starter and main course served quickly. Nothing to complain about. Only after the main course did you get the feeling of being left to your own devices. No more service to be seen and it seemed like everyone was busy cleaning up. In the end we got our own menus at the bar for dessert. That was a minus

Unfortunately, the Christmas dinner on Christmas Day was not what we had hoped for. Given the fact that everyone had to be served at the same time, this was at the expense of quality in the kitchen. The concept was fine, but the execution was very poor. Dishes were either lukewarm or undercooked or dry. No, this was really not good and you should not approach it this way anymore. We also got the idea that there were not enough staff around. The wait was long and it was over after 3 hours on these seats. We didn't wait for the "dessert" and left disappointed.

Nice restaurant especially for groups.

Fort Noxx is truly a great experience for anyone who loves a challenge and adventure! This escape room center offers a wide variety of rooms, each with unique themes and challenging riddles that will challenge you both mentally and physically. The atmosphere throughout the building is exciting and well decorated, really sucking you into the adventure from the moment you enter. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they make you feel welcome. They explain everything well and give you just enough hints if you get stuck, without giving away the game too much. The escape rooms themselves are of high quality and well maintained, with complex puzzles and surprising elements that make the game fascinating.

Had a pub quiz here a while back. It was well organized and very enjoyable! Unfortunately, according to the staff, it was not possible to order gluten-free food. Even after indicating that it could be something from the restaurant's menu instead of the drinks menu, this was absolutely not possible. And while the pub quiz lasted all evening. Went home hungry after the quiz... Very unfortunate.

Ate here for the first time tonight. The special menu that had been in the Hoofddorp newspaper for a nice price. It was great. Great service, special location and above all delicious food. The venison steak was delicious, but so were the appetizer, the starter and especially the dessert. One of our party had the cod and it was also delicious. Everything was delivered quickly but with sufficient space between the courses. Between main course and dessert we were also politely asked if we were ready for that. Highly recommended!

Fort Noxx is een prachtige historische locatie in Hoofddorp. We hebben uitstekend gegeten. Wij hadden een speciaal Lezersmenu. Heerlijke gerechten die je niet zo snel van de kaart zult kiezen. Bediening is vriendelijk en enthousiast. Wij kunnen Fort Knoxx van harte aanbevelen en Hoofddorp is het blijkbaar met ons eens want het restaurant zat vol op deze zaterdag

Because we got there early it was still a bit chilly, but otherwise it was very pleasant and we had a nice evening. Partly because of the nice service. The food was DELICIOUS!

Unique place in the fort of Hoofddorp, part of the Amsterdam defense line. Sounds cold but is atmospheric. Good restaurant, also for fish dishes. Outdoor terrace in several places and rooms for various occasions.

There were 16 people celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary; beautiful location, very helpful and cooperative staff, perfect service and delicious menu. Highly recommended!
