By far the best fish and chips I've ever eaten. Maybe a little less salt, but otherwise the price-performance ratio is unbeatable.

Great chip shop with a large selection and very tasty fries. You can watch them split the potatoes fresh to make the fries. The Brandner mayonnaise is highly recommended as a side dish. There are a few seats inside and more outside.

After having delicious milkshakes a few times and eating at the nice tables, today, 05-09, I ordered online and picked up for the first time – fries, snacks, fish, and an ice cream to go – and that was absolutely top-notch too. Despite the busyness, everything was ready right on time, nice and hot, and neatly packaged. The young girls are really feisty: always friendly, they go above and beyond, serve delicious food, and enjoy their work. The 2 slightly 'older' ladies are a bit less fun: less customer-friendly, a tad arrogant, and somewhat easily annoyed; unfortunately, that is not the kind of thing you can expect, but the nice atmosphere and the girls ensure that I will gladly keep coming back. Top notch!

Very, very delicious fries, fresh and crispy!

On my friend's recommendation, I ate fish and chips here and was definitely not disappointed. The food was delicious, the service friendly, and everything looked clean and well-maintained. You pick up your food directly at the counter. A little tip: watch out for the seagulls outside – they'll be there faster than you think if you leave your food unattended on the table. 😄 Overall, highly recommended!

For a portion of fish and chips €13 and 4 pieces of kibbeling, I think that's a bit excessive.

The fries are great, but unfortunately, I know kibbeling to be different. The fish tasted of nothing.

Excellent fries at a perfectly fair price. The price-performance ratio is spot on. So it is possible after all. The staff are also incredibly friendly. Takeaway is also available. The best part is the fresh preparation – not like in some "stalls" where they use frozen fries, but cut and cooked directly from the potato 🥔. Crispy, not too greasy or oversalted. Highly recommended.

The fries were good. However, the lady behind the counter snapped at me when I asked if they had a beer. Apparently, you're not even allowed to ask anymore. Of course, it was my fault; how could I not have known they don't serve alcohol here? I sincerely apologize!

Small chip shop right in the harbor of Den Helder with great chip variations and super delicious fresh chips :)

The snack bar is located right in the heart of Den Helder's harbor area. The fries are still made from fresh potatoes and are absolutely delicious. All the other dishes are also very tasty. The only downside is the paper cutlery, which could be better. We highly recommend this snack bar; the food is excellent.

We spontaneously stopped here for a quick bite, and it was a great idea! The potatoes were right in front of the counter, and you could watch them being made into fries. They tasted absolutely fantastic, and the price was very fair! There are several tables outside, some in the shade, where you can enjoy your fries while being watched by some larger birds :) Thanks for the hospitality, and greetings from West Lusatia in Germany!

Friday is fry day, as many already know. I placed a large order around 6:00 PM and could pick it up at 6:30 PM. It was mega busy, so it was a bit confusing as to whose order was ready. Exactly at 6:30 PM, my order was ready. I drove back and only realized when I got home that the squid bites were missing. This is a real shame; it could have been a great "take me back to Spain" moment because I enjoyed the calamari so much there. Then I was faced with a dilemma: if I call now and say that the squid bites weren't in my order, I would most likely have to go pick them up myself, but then I would have cold fries when I got back (the fries were very tasty). In the end, I decided to cut my losses and leave Spain behind for good.

Hi, I had some really delicious fries and frikandel with lots of tasty, fresh onions here yesterday. The fries are made by hand from fresh potatoes right in front of the customers. The curry ketchup and mayonnaise were also especially good. They're from "Oliehoorn." I'd love to come back and try the fish and chips next time. It looked delicious too. Best regards, Frank Koop

There's absolutely nothing to complain about here. Neither the quality, the taste, nor the quantity gave any cause for complaint. The portion of fish and chips was more than worth the 13 euros. We'll see you again on our next visit to Den Helder.

Fish and chips; it simply doesn't get any better. Succulent fish fillet in a beautifully crispy breading. Absolutely delicious! And the seagulls and jackdaws would have loved to join in. :-)

Delicious fries! The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old harbor. The fries are made fresh from whole potatoes. We think this chip shop deserves all the praise it gets. We're always regulars when we're in Den Helder and look forward to coming back every time.

The fish was very dry, but the fries were good. The ravigotte sauce was more than welcome, and it was a generous portion! But unfortunately, we were kicked out because it was closing, which apparently was 5 minutes after we received our food. Which, unfortunately, wasn't mentioned... We'll go to the chip shop around the corner next time.

The best fries of our holiday in North Holland. We'll definitely be back. Ketchup and other condiments are dispensed from a tap, just like beer elsewhere. Very friendly service. Plenty of outdoor seating for nice weather. Lots of free parking nearby.

My husband and I placed an order last night: 2 fries, 2 bamischijfjes (noodle slices), and 1 frikadel speciaal (fried meatball special). When I got home, there were two empty containers where fries were supposed to be. I drove back. The order was remade without an apology or compensation. I thought that was strange. After a short wait, my order was ready, except for the bamischijfje (noodle slice), which was still in the grease. After another minute, it arrived in its own bag. And you guessed it, it was cold. We threw everything away. The girls behind the counter were practically panicking because of the crowd. They were yelling at Else. Young girls, who were out of control; I felt sorry for them. Yesterday, I immediately sent a message to the Werviaan, but I didn't get a response. Disappointing...

It was ready quite quickly, but the fries were quite salty so I couldn't eat them.

I had the best fish and chips I've had in ages! The fries are cut from fresh potatoes and taste wonderful – and the chips are coated in a paper-thin, well-seasoned breading – truly first-class! A portion costs €10 (plus sauces of your choice), which is a generous portion – what more could you want? Friendly atmosphere, attentive service, plenty of outdoor seating, clean, and no fishy smell whatsoever! Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back! 😋

A chip shop right on the harbor. It's beautifully located. However, you can only sit outside, as seating is limited. They serve excellent fries and typical dishes like kibbelinge, frikjandell, etc. They also serve a variety of sauces. Everything is filling but delicious, and very good value for money. Definitely worth a visit.

I'd like to say upfront that the fries with chili cheese are amazing. I was expecting spicy cheese sauce on the fries. Instead, they came with a sauce made with ground beef, jalapenos, peppers, and cheese sauce (all fresh and delicious ingredients). I thought they were sensational. The fries, in particular, taste really delicious and are cut on-site with a kind of stamping press. The two people behind the counter were very quick, courteous, and friendly. I can definitely recommend them. If we ever vacation here again and visit the Naval Museum, we'll be back. Awesome fries... ✌️😇

Visiting Den Helder without trying the potatoes feels incomplete, the parking area is spacious, close to the museum. Unfortunately there are no toilet facilities for guests here.
