What annoyed me was the incredible mess in the place. Dead hanging plant, all those containers and empty chip containers on the windowsill. As a customer you have to sit among other people's mess and leftovers. It was otherwise quiet in the shop, so it wasn't the crowd. An employee went to refill the drinks cooler, which was otherwise well stocked, and was apparently blind to the mess. Then I put on my coat and went home, because it was quiet... The three of them were chatting. This took place on Saturday evening, October 19, around 7 p.m.

the only place that makes groningen worth visiting. the fries are phenomenal, like unforgettable. the ketchup curry is to die for, and so is the server. he is smart, competent, well meaning, can speak french fluently and has a nice earring. was in groningen for 3 days, went there 3 times. will definitely come back.

At Frietwinkel you can get delicious fries made from freshly cut potatoes. There is also a selection of different sauces and other snacks (e.g. Frikandel, Kroket). The fries aren't exactly cheap, but they taste better than some others. It's also practical that the sauce is served separately - so the fries don't get soft. There was a lot going on when we visited at the weekend, but we were happy to accept the short wait for the delicious fries. Payment by EC card is possible without any problems. Thanks to Hartelijk, we come back soon!

Delicious and fresh fries! Very crispy and because the sauce comes in a separate compartment, you also have fresh fries right down to the bottom. The service is friendly and quick and the prices are reasonable.

Delicious food. Fries were fresh and nicely fried. Handy container on the cone for the sauce. Also ate a delicious Groningen egg ball. When the weather is nice you can sit outside on the benches. There is also seating inside, but on sunny days it is very warm inside.

I visited Groningen for the first time to meet with a local friend and we popped in here. The guys behind the counter were absolutely brilliant, very friendly service and the cashier spoke English! The fries were absolutely lovely, crispy outside and really smooth inside. I went for the curry ketchup but I was able to try a sample of the mayo with pepper and I would recommend that sauce over the curry ketchup! But both sauces were really tasty.

Great place 🥰 We ordered large fries with joppie and fries sauce. Fries were hot, slightly greasy and crispy. Joppie sauce was slightly sweet and curry-like and the frit sauce resembled mayonnaise. I love fries and still portion was satisfying 🍟💛 Fries are made fresh from potatoes with the peel.

Went there yesterday 24.07. in the afternoon. The dark haired girl was super rude when I asked her which sauce the typical Dutch fries sauce is. Then waiting an extensive amount of time for the fries I was watching the blond girl who was preparing the fries, while she was waiting for the fries to be finished she bit her nails and had her fingers in her mouth, also she kept poking her ears... With the same fingers she then prepared the paper cones for the fries touching them inside. On top of all of this I just got the normal mayonnaise instead of the sauce (the only reason I went there ) . Surely won't be back, pity this place was recommended to me by locals but if staff who are preparing food are not washing there hands after putting their fingers to their mouths I cannot recommend.

Actually too expensive for a fries that actually taste good. The gentleman who helped us clearly didn't feel like it. The location with a view of a lady behind her window is not very appetizing... Fortunately she was not in the picture all the time because occasionally the curtain closed (provided there was patronage...).

Here you don't get pre-packed factory fries, but hand-cut fries with skin in a cardboard cone. The sauce is in a separate container. I thought the fries were very hard fried and many were dark/brown instead of golden yellow. There were also many small pieces at the bottom of the bag. Please note that there is a difference between chip sauce and mayonnaise. Sauce is not included in the price as standard, so please note. In terms of taste, I didn't think it was very special, to be honest. Staff is friendly and the fries were served very quickly. Recommended in my opinion.

Ben hier heel lang niet meer geweest en ik haalde destijds zo nu en dan even een grote portie friet en iets van saus. Snel, simpel, makkelijk, lekker. De laatste keer dat ik ben geweest waren de porties wel erg klein en ik had er even genoeg van. Het is een poos geleden, dus ik probeer het nog een keer. Ik bestelde een grote portie friet met Mayo. Nou een half afgevuld bakje friet, noem ik geen grote portie en daarnaast zat de mayo er niet eens bij! Wel erg triest dit.😞 Dit was voor mij dan ook wel weer even de laatste keer geweest. Jammer! Ik vond het vroeger een top tent.
