Ordered delicious food from Cafetaria Oud Waubach today! The sour meat was really top-notch 😍 Delicious in taste and exactly as it should be. The delivery also deserves a big thumbs up: delivered super fast and the food was still nice and warm when it arrived. 👌🔥 Really enjoyed my meal! ⭐️ What a huge disappointment. For the amount we paid here, we had expected, at the very least, that the food would be hot, properly prepared, and served in normal portions. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. We ordered an XXL special frikandel, a hamburger, large special fries, and regular hot fries. The XXL frikandel was NOT cut. There were just some half-cut pieces lying on top, as if someone thought: that’s good enough. Moreover, the frikandel itself was lukewarm. Ordering an XXL special and then receiving a lukewarm, completely uncut frikandel… peculiar. The hamburger looked fine at first glance, but turned out to be truly tasteless. It’s nice that it looks good, but ultimately, it’s about what happens in your mouth. And then the fries. The LARGE special fries were more like a normal portion in terms of quantity. The REGULAR hot fries were completely embarrassingly small and looked more like a child's portion. There were literally more onions than fries in the container, and the sauce was nowhere to be found either. For this price, you would expect to get at least a decent amount of fries, sufficient sauce, and a hot snack. We were therefore downright baffled by this and ended up leaving half of it. Not because we weren't hungry, but simply because it was so disappointing that we lost interest. Way too expensive for what you get. Meager portions, hardly any sauce, a lukewarm and not even cut frikandel, and a tasteless hamburger. Absolutely not a second time for us. They should be deeply ashamed of themselves for this.

I had placed a takeaway order and paid in advance. When I arrived at Cafetaria Oud Waubach, I was told that they could not deliver my order. I was sent away without food, even though I had already paid. I have since received the full amount back one day later, but the pickup experience remains very disappointing.

Waited 2 hours and 15 minutes for bad food. Ordered at 7:00 PM on a Thursday evening. Called at 8:20 PM. Then we were told that our order was the next one leaving. Called again at 9:00 PM. The order was on its way. It arrived at 9:15 PM. The satay sauce was old, the fries were old. All in all, not a good experience with this place.

What a sad cafeteria this is. There are 4 ladies working there who are incredibly busy arguing, on the phone, tasting fries in full view of the guests, and talking very loudly. The discussions include who is better at frying (I guess nobody), but also the height of the ladies🫠 It was also about who has to keep working and who doesn't, and when a delivery order came in, a literal air raid siren goes off, which is of course great while eating. Now, about the food…… The fries were completely soaked in grease. Very soggy and not crispy. My Sputnik, which I had ordered with some mayonnaise, was more mayonnaise with Sputnik than the other way around. This was a one-time thing.

I went to this cafeteria yesterday for the first time in a long time. I had to wait almost 40 minutes for 2 fries with a frikadel. I don't know how that's possible, and it wasn't very original either, but I thought it was great. A shame, because the fries were tasty and the staff were friendly despite that.

Yesterday I ordered food via Thuiszorgd for the first time. It was supposed to take about 40 to 70 minutes. After an hour and a half, I called to see if the order was on its way. It was supposed to be delivered soon. After 45 minutes, I called again, and there the food was at the door. So we waited for our food for longer than 2 hours. It was inedible; the fries were soggy. The hamburgers were just thrown together; the meat wasn't even cooked through! Ordered 60 euros worth of food; definitely the first and last time.

There are good points and bad points. To stay positive, we will start with the good points. For example, there is a beautiful plane tree standing outside the shop. It is lovely to sit on the terrace under it on a warm day. I will leave it at that.

I have ordered from here 3 times now via Thuisbezorgd. The food is really delicious, but my god, you have to wait so long for it! Even now, while placing an order, I’ve been waiting 1.5 hours for fries and a sandwich. The first time it happened, I just thought it was busy. The 2nd time, according to them, it was a glitch at Thuisbezorgd, and now, on the 3rd time, it’s another 1.5 hours later.

Old product prices are still displayed on the TV screen.... too bad. Just update it; it's also better for the customer coming to pick something up.

After it took 2 hours for the order to arrive (I can somewhat understand that on a Sunday evening), I feel that for the prices you pay these days, you should receive a decent product. If you run your business this way, you don't deserve to be in the hospitality industry!

So much choice! Delicious food, I've tried many. Takeout, delivery, and dining in. Friendly staff. And it's affordable too.

What disgusting food, I was here recently and it took more than half an hour before we got our food and it was cold, the staff was also unfriendly and my daughter had a fly in her fries, which was really unacceptable, you couldn't enjoy the food in peace because there was all sorts of children's noise coming from behind.

Since January 1, 2025, it has a new and very hospitable owner. The fries are among the best I've ever had. There's a wide selection of dishes and snacks, several of which are homemade. They even offer vegetarian stew. There are parking spaces next to the cafeteria, and you can dine in. Highly recommended, because the products here are still artisanally prepared to perfection.

So we left and went outside with this customer. Never again!!!!!

Saturday, September 20th at 8:06 PM, I ordered two satay platters. They were delivered promptly, but both satay platters, without satay sauce, were a bit dry. Unfortunately, the restaurant was already closed so I could make a complaint. It's a risk when ordering and paying online; something can always go wrong.

It's outrageous that they're charging a whopping €4.75 for a single spoonful of dried-out Gypsy sauce from the microwave! Hot chicken fries cost €7.50, I could see the bottom of the container! What a scandalous display!

The first time, my goulash looked like goulash, but it tasted like sour meat. And the bami wasn't cooked through. In short, it was spoiled. Now, when I ordered, I only got crabs and fries that had already been fried more than twice. The schnitzel was dripping with frying fat. I thought I'd give them another chance, but now I'm done with it.

I've ordered several times, but lately it hasn't been great. Even a healthy sandwich was way too dry, hard, and poorly wrapped. It just falls apart, and it's all way overpriced. Sandwiches were my last resort.

Ordered a few months ago... the food was terrible... from raw hamburgers and snacks to rock-hard fries... threw everything away... and ordered pasta from our regular pasta shop... definitely still hungry and the regular fries place closed... called the store, said Thuisbezorgd... but no answer... so I left a review on Thuisbezorgd and requested a refund... the lady called me back a few days later... okay, fine... did I keep the food...? A few days later...!!! Hahaha, she was just blackmailing me... I had to delete the review or I wouldn't get a refund... so she eventually deleted it herself... and after I said I was getting legal assistance, I finally got my 35 euros back after more than two weeks of calling back and forth... seriously, I'm never going back here, or ordering anything, or anything like that again... I'd rather die a natural death...

We ordered extra Lipton iced tea; we received fuze tea instead. The sausage was also missing, and we ordered "friet oorlog" (fried war), but we received "fries special." And to top it all off, a raw, frozen-in-the-middle hamburger for €8.50. This is truly ridiculous.

We had ordered well in advance for 5:45 PM, just before delivery, we received a call saying something was out of stock. We quickly changed our order. At 5:45 PM, the order arrived on time, but when we unpacked it, the large fries weren't included. So we quickly called and were told they would arrive shortly. My guests could already eat because they had separate containers of fries. After waiting half an hour, we called again. They said they'd be there shortly. In the meantime, we ate the snacks because they were already lukewarm. After another fifteen minutes, we received the fries, and instead of the 5:45 PM order, we could start eating the fries without the snack about an hour later because they were already gone. Besides arriving far too late, we also paid €1.60 too much because the currywurst with curry that hadn't been delivered was much more expensive than the Sputnik we received. The delivery woman was very friendly, though. No next time for us.

We ordered 4 sandwiches of which they didn't have the one with mackerel. We had to arrange with Thuiszorgd to get it refunded. A quick phone call if you didn't have something would have been enough, we would have taken something else. The delivery person had to tell us that. By the way, this is not the first time this has happened. But for us it is the last time we order something there. Simply worthless. If you wanted to call them, the phone is next to it. After trying for half an hour I thought it was okay. Never order from there again.

Order was incomplete. They didn't have a sandwich. Normally you call the customer but not now. When I wanted to call them, the busy tone was constantly there. They won't see me there anymore.

I ordered two large fries, but the amount seemed more like one large fry. It was one large bag for €8, which was scandalously small compared to other chip shops. I called to ask if this was a mistake, and was told these were the normal portions. I also ordered two satay croquettes, which were very cold and barely tasted thawed. I mentioned this over the phone, and the woman offered to re-deliver the satay croquettes and another large fries, and apologized for the inconvenience. The delivery driver arrived within 20 minutes, and he also apologized politely. When we saw the satay croquettes, we could clearly see a difference. The first croquettes were very yellow, while the new ones were a nice brown. So something must have gone wrong with the original order. The difference is visible in the photo, looking at the crumbs (I only thought to take a picture afterward). The fries that came with it were about the same amount as the original order, but the note said "1 large fries." I don't know the correct amount of fries, but I do know that the original satay croquettes weren't prepared properly. I do have to say that I think it was resolved well. They listened to the problem and provided an alternative. Mistakes happen, but this one was resolved very well. Hence, 5* service. Since the fries weren't clear yet, and it wasn't correct the first time, I'm giving the food a 3*.

WORTHLESS! Frietje Oriental should have been with bean sprouts (according to the menu) but was actually with white cabbage. Satay sauce was reheated and slightly burnt. Onion rings were not crispy and cooked through, they tasted mealy. Gyros was wafer-thin and a very small portion. Fries were not cooked properly and some were still half raw. The salad was completely inedible, you can't do it with just oil, vinegar and salt.... Staff is noisy, sneezing over the cutting board, has their long hair loose instead of a ponytail and even their coat on while they are working. We will not go there again!

Fries hard fried, inedible Unfriendly, it doesn't make for a good day. I really wonder why someone takes over a business that shows on day 1 that they don't feel like it. An eternal shame and a place to avoid. EDITED FEBRUARY 2025 After a tip that there was a new owner, I immediately gave it the chance to see if it was better. And YES it is significantly better, even very good and tasty. The place is clean, smells like a chip shop should smell. Both fries and snacks are very tasty. How lucky that this owner knows what a passion for good food is. Keep it up!

Wow! This really is already the discovery of the year! We have been living in Heerlen since 2021 and have been looking for a cafeteria with fresh fries and tasty dishes from our own kitchen all this time. Tried different addresses, but this is really our new favorite. Already been 3 times this year despite good intentions 🙈 Sour meat fries or Goulash for us... super tasty! Don't forget the bamiballe and satay... and for our daughter the spaghetti ball... surprisingly tasty too... Highly recommended if you like fresh fries... the sweet (Dutch!) owner is happy to give you advice if you have trouble choosing... 5 stars may be just 1 too few, but that's the way it is 😂 We only took pictures after we had already tasted...

This was never my favorite snack bar. But this has changed. We had a delicious meal and certainly left us wanting more. Lots of prosperity and success for the new owner and her team. With innovative changes on the horizon, I am very curious to see what will come next.
