Big improvement since the takeover. It was a bit disappointing at first to hear that all-inclusive costs €1 per alcoholic drink, until we saw that this also applied to specialty beers. Isn't that normally included in an all-inclusive package, and all for €1? I also found the food much better, with fast service and friendly staff. Ultimately, after a wonderful evening of dining and drinks, we paid €88 for two people. Definitely not expensive.

Nice place. Taken over by new owners. It's a shame the sushi and wok dishes are so-so. And a few times we had a roll that simply fell apart. They also have an all-you-can-eat concept. But for alcoholic drinks like beer and wine, there's an extra €1 per glass, and for a cocktail, it's €3.50. The cocktail is then half-filled with ice cubes. (Espresso Martini and Pornstar Martini) So I understand why they only charge €3.50. When I left the restaurant, I politely indicated my bill at checkout, and then I got a strange reaction: "Are you just here for the cocktails or something?" And well, you have to like this concept.

Every course was a little surprise and perfectly seasoned. The service is friendly and makes you feel immediately at ease. The atmospheric interior completes the picture and contributes to a relaxing evening out. An added bonus: the drink prices are very reasonable. The beer menu, in particular, is surprisingly extensive, with both draft and various specialty bottled beers, including Affligem and Japanese beer. Other drinks are also reasonably priced. A place we'd love to return to — this restaurant deserves a permanent spot on our list.

We used to love coming here, but there were some changes (and I now read they're under new ownership), so we went back. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and asked if we wanted all-inclusive or not. So we opted for all-inclusive. My immediate surprise was that they charge an extra euro for wine and beer? Why on earth am I even going all-inclusive? The new layout is uninviting, like a large, open, all-you-can-eat shack. Yes, it looks nice, but the open layout takes away the intimacy, and the noise of everyone else is no longer muffled. It's simply become unpleasant. We also ordered a cocktail, a Mojito... well, I may have only worked in the hospitality industry for about 20 years, but this was the worst Mojito ever. Even ready-made Mojitos from the supermarket come closer. And then there's the food, which is actually the most important thing at a place like this. It was just "OK." The problem is that it was just OK, which isn't necessarily bad, but if you add up all the negatives, it simply wasn't good. All in all, we won't be back.

The restaurant has been taken over and is now under new ownership! I would recommend everyone to eat here; you can taste the love in the dishes. The dishes are beautifully presented, including the specials (which cost a little extra, but are more than worth it). We're not from the area and drive about 30 minutes to eat here. Believe me, it's worth it. We've eaten here once on a weekend and once during the week, and the service remains excellent! I can't wait to go back. Good luck to the new team in the coming years, and I'm confident this will be a great success!

Five of us had a lovely meal at Goya Sushi and Frituur. It all tasted quite good. We were helped by friendly staff. Occasionally, a tray came quite close to my head. Those large trays were quite uncomfortable, of course. Eventually, I had a conversation with a young man, a restaurant employee, who asked if he could give me his card (after a brief conversation). He turned out to be a Jehovah's Witness, unfortunately, not my kind of faith! I politely returned the card. Is this the modern way to recruit members of the Jehovah's Witnesses? Strange aftertaste!

My son turned 13 and got to choose where he wanted to eat for his birthday. I'd never been to Goya because I didn't like it. But I thought, okay, new owners, let's give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The sushi was fresh and really delicious, as was the rest of the menu. The service was super friendly, and the lady even came out singing with an ice fountain for my son's birthday. It was so much fun and definitely worth going back.

Delicious food. I've been going there for years, and after they reopened, I was drawn by the good deal. I read the negative reviews just before I left, but we (10 people) had a delicious meal and didn't have to wait long. The new ordering method is a bit tricky, mainly because the menu numbers aren't in the app, which would make it easier. After closing, I realized something and decided to text the number again. To my great surprise, they responded quickly, and I received my receipt again. Great service! As for the atmosphere, I missed some music in the background. Oh, and it's also great for kids!

It was a bit nerve-wracking, a new owner. This often comes at the expense of quality. At Goya, this is anything but the case; what a relief. A new owner, a new look, a whole new experience. The new owner has elevated this restaurant from the all-you-can-eat snack bar vibe to a whole new level. Not the hectic, chaotic environment where you're just a number and your food is involuntarily served or thrown at the table, but genuine service, like in a full-fledged restaurant, with interaction between the staff and the guests. Upon arrival, a warm welcome and a personal chat. Engaged, not contrived. A modest pride radiates from how beautiful and well they've created this restaurant. The staff are well-trained and proud to talk about their scientific studies. A peaceful atmosphere prevails. Piano music plays in the background. A clean restroom where you can sit comfortably without poking yourself halfway into the sanitary bin. The food was fantastic, the wine so much better than before, and the cocktails were top-notch. All in all, you pay more, as wine and beer are +€1 per drink, but it's worth it. We'll definitely be back.

I've been a regular for years, never had a single complaint with the previous owners, but I left yesterday so disappointed. The service was very slow, it took ages to get our drinks, and we also had to wait quite a while for our food. The food... the sushi was very cold and sticky, and all the meat that came off the wok/grill was dry, hard, or chewy. Even the shrimp could have been used as a ping-pong ball. It's such a shame, but after eight years of regular visits, we have to say goodbye to Goya. We miss the old owner terribly!

Not recommended after reopening! Nowadays, with an all-inclusive menu, you pay an extra €1 for each beer and wine! A lot of people won't like this and will go to Una in Alkmaar. Cheaper and more luxurious. After reopening, the dishes are tasteless, lukewarm, take forever to arrive, and are incredibly chaotic. While it was perfectly organized under the previous owner, it's now a nightmare. Drinks also take forever to arrive. The menu has also shrunk. Not recommended and won't be returning. The only positive is that it looks more atmospheric. But that's useless if the rest isn't right. Way too expensive for what you get!

Last time I came over for dinner with my two-year-old nephew. He ate a frikandel and threw up afterward. I even tried the frikandel myself, and it tasted strange. I went back with him today. When he got home, he immediately threw up and said he had a terrible stomach ache. This time he only ate chicken nuggets and fries. It's really strange that it happens to you all the time; it seems like the frying fat or the product itself isn't good. I also think it's a shame that the white chocolate fountain is suddenly gone.

I picked up food at Goya. I'll start with the positive. The restaurant looked nice and tidy, and the staff was friendly, but the food wasn't great. I threw away the teriyaki chicken and a container of fried mushrooms after two bites. Nothing tasted good, but the low point was the tuna sushi—it was truly awful. It was inedible, and the smell was awful. Everything else was very greasy. The fried shrimp were also inedible. I've never complained to a restaurant in my life, but this time I went back to express my displeasure. I brought back some food to show (and let them smell) that it didn't look good. I paid €70 and got €20 back as a consolation measure. However, we only ate about 10%, so the €20 refund isn't correct—very disappointing.

Terrible! I've never experienced such a bad sushi place before. They put green beans in a dish that, according to the menu, contained green asparagus, and the sushi fell apart. The tenderloin looked like (and tasted like) döner. The teppanyaki chicken was burnt instead of fried. The sweet and sour cucumber looked like it had been prepared by a toddler last month (unfortunately, it tasted like it too). The staff were serving in dirty personal clothing. It took ages to get drinks after ordering via tablet. I spent half the night on the toilet with severe stomach cramps and vomiting. In short: it's a shame we ever ate here (we last went five years ago and had a great experience then). Next time, we'll go back to their competitor, where the higher price is definitely worth it.

I recently had dinner at Goya and overall the experience was pleasant. The location is nice and the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice — I had a good seat. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was also served quickly. Nice detail: there were two types of Japanese beer available, which made it just that little bit more interesting. Unfortunately, there was also a serious disappointment. The tuna in the sushi turned out to be very clearly not fresh. This was immediately noticeable in the taste and texture, and eventually also visible in the color. When we reported this to the staff, little to nothing was said about it; the plate was taken away without any explanation. That moment left us a bit overwhelmed. I also indicated that this should absolutely not be served to other guests, because you can really get sick from it. In short: a restaurant with potential, a nice atmosphere and fast service, but the handling of a serious quality complaint was disappointing. Hopefully this will be handled more carefully in the future.

The food was very greasy and the meat from the griddle was quite tough and I unfortunately suffered terribly all night long. I indicated with the steak that it had a strange aftertaste. According to the lady/owner, that was the best-selling meat, sorry, but the quality was downright bad. The sushi was decent. It's a shame that all the sauces were so incredibly salty. Don't come back here again

Yesterday we ate at Goya in Heerhugowaard for the first time (and for the last time), and what a disappointment! From the start the service was downright bad. It took more than 20 minutes for my drink to arrive, and when I wanted to order two instead of one drink, the response was unfriendly. The owner himself even started arguing, as if I asked something strange. The food? Definitely not fresh. My stomach still hurts the next day, which says everything about the quality. Reading other reviews, this doesn't seem to be a one-off incident, but rather the normal course of events here. Waste of time and money. There are plenty of other places where you are treated well and where the food is at least fresh. I absolutely do not recommend Goya!

Een rampzalige ervaring! Ik zag de kok in zijn neus peuteren terwijl hij eten aan het bereiden was, en hij waste zijn handen daarna niet! Het was echt walgelijk. Toen ik het personeel erop wees, negeerden ze me volledig, alsof er niets aan de hand was. Het is duidelijk dat hygiëne hier geen prioriteit is. Ik raad niemand aan om hier te eten!

A disastrous experience! I saw the chef pick his nose while he was preparing food, and he didn't wash his hands afterwards! It was really disgusting. When I pointed it out to the staff, they completely ignored me, as if nothing was wrong. It is clear that hygiene is not a priority here. I don't recommend anyone to eat here!🤮

I went to this restaurant with some friends, and the service was the worst I've ever experienced. The tables were dirty and the cutlery had not been cleaned properly. When we asked for a new set, the waiter completely ignored us! The owner was also very rude when we wanted to make a complaint and treated us disrespectfully. This was a horrible experience that I will never repeat!

Het eten is erg gewoon ronduit smerig, manager totaal ongeïnteresseerd in klanten, het duurde 20 min voor hij kwam om te vragen wat we wilde en geen zin om uitleg te geven over de tablet en bestellen, na 15 min kwam serveerster het uitleggen. First Christmas Eve dinner here with family and young children during the second shift. Food excellent and well arranged upon arrival. The requested table is available, which is nice. Did notice that it had been busy. Unfortunately, the previously used tables that have not been booked remain full of used plates and rubbish, giving an unkempt impression. Service does their best, but they are so busy (too few staff?) that it takes a long time, especially to provide drinks. Or conscious choice regarding including drinking arrangement... All in all, sufficient for what we want in this setting.

Walk past your closed restaurant almost every day, at least 2 days a week there is one of the tables where there are still empty plates with leftover food, empty glasses, empty bottles and chopsticks on the table! This doesn't seem so fresh to me and after a while it will become a feast for mice... this will certainly stop me from coming to eat with you again! This is of course not a sales pitch to attract guests to your restaurant.

Food was not super fresh and warm. Management and service very messy. A lot of inexperience and stress when it's busy. Tablets were very unsanitary as well as the table. Drinks were very expensive. Dessert bar was minimal and ice cream bar was also 'dirty' as in no clean water for the spoon, spilled ice cream, etc. Not worth repeating.
