Grand Café D'n Optie in Druten

Before the renovation, we ate here and were the only ones in the restaurant. Back then, the food was fine, but not great. Now, after the renovation, we went for the second time on Sinterklaas evening. But what a disgrace! The staff just chatted with (what seemed to be the owner). And the food was absolutely terrible. Very bland, with raw vegetables. We eat out a lot, but this was truly subpar. But the worst part, I think, is that they didn't do anything about it. After I told them I really didn't like it (I'd left almost everything), they offered no alternative, no apology. We went home frustrated, still hungry, and our Sinterklaas evening was ruined. It's no wonder there were only two occupied tables. It's truly poor quality and incompetent staff.

There's a lot wrong with this restaurant. The welcome drink was okay. After that, no one came by to ask if we wanted another drink. We ordered food and it was delivered an hour and a half later. The duck breast was mediocre, the schnitzel was XXL, okay. But instead of beef, we were served a pork tenderloin. We discussed it, but after an hour and a half we were hungry. Also, the potato and vegetable gratin wasn't on the plate as it said on the menu. Only a plate with meat!! Sloppy. Everything was wrong with the kitchen. We got free drinks when we signed off, and that was the least they could do to make up for it. I don't think we'll eat here again. Too bad.

Had a wonderful meal with (former) colleagues. A friendly welcome with a welcome drink on the house. A very cozy and atmospheric restaurant. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Meal salad with shallot was delicious and so much, I couldn't finish it.

The soup was delicious and a good portion. The main course was either too dry or undercooked; served with gratin and vegetables, it meant dry bits of vegetables and nowhere to be found mashed potatoes under the meat. The dessert was very tasty.

A glass of rosé should contain 150ml of wine. That's not what they serve here (I haven't drunk any of it yet).

A very friendly welcome with a free welcome drink. The service was smooth and friendly; they also handled a minor criticism very well and seriously. Definitely a must-go!

What a gem D’n Optie in Druten is! During our vacation, we stumbled upon it on a busy holiday in the village, and despite the huge crowds, the staff remained remarkably friendly, patient, and professional. You're greeted with a genuine smile, and there's a warm, cozy atmosphere that immediately invites you to linger. The service is excellent: fast, attentive, and always with an eye for detail, even at the busiest times. We chose the meat platter, and it was absolutely delicious – perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and with surprising flavors clearly created with care and passion. The portions are generous, the ingredients fresh, and the price-quality ratio is more than balanced. What makes this restaurant truly special is how accessible and welcoming it all feels. No fuss, just honest, delicious food in a pleasant setting with people who know their craft. Cozy cafe to sit on the terrace!

Gisteren op 5-7-2025 bij de Optie gegeten en gedronken. Er is een nieuwe eigenaar werd ons verteld en onze ervaring was zeer positief. Zowel de zeer vlotte en nette bediening als het goede eten. Friet moest apart afgerekend worden. Het gratis welkomstdrankje en broodplankje verraste ons in positieve zin. Vooral de kok willen wij een compliment geven. Voor ons is het voor herhaling vatbaar.

Had a three course meal last night. All courses were prepared with care and delicious. Service was friendly and alert. In short, highly recommended!

Another delicious meal with 4 people. Could eat inside or on the terrace. The 3-course menu is highly recommended, excellent quality. Very friendly and attentive service. Will definitely come back again.

The coffee was too weak, it was because something was wrong with the setting of the coffee machine, nothing was done, bad!

Sunday March 16 here with 7 people. Delicious meal! Super friendly service, with a delicious welcome drink upon arrival. The starter, main and desserts were delicious! Hospitality with a very capital G:-) We had a wonderful and fun evening, everyone was very satisfied! Recommended and will definitely come back!

Good food, no more, no less than that. No gastronomic surprise. Strange that for a 3 course menu you have to pay 3.50 extra if you want an Irish Coffee (6.50) instead of a dessert of 9.50. Pleasantly priced for wine and beer!

The lady with a ponytail at the counter tried her best not to see me. I had asked for water for the dog, but that was not possible because there were no more bowls. Two were forgiven. Well. Never experienced anything like this before.

Just got back from D'n Optie, it was great! Received with a welcome drink before dinner. And a delicious meal. Beautifully prepared plates and the meat/taste was superb. Service also super friendly. And had a nice seat. Highly recommended!

Vlotte bediening, gezellige entourage, maar helaas waren zowel de biefstukpuntjes als de varkenshaas taai. Wel jammer want de locatie is leuk zo in het centrum.

Very cozy, but above all of good quality. I always pay attention to whether it is hygienic, and that was certainly the case.

The restaurant is very unpleasant. There is nothing on tables. All very bare. It is not busy. Starter was not hot and the skewer option consisted of just a few small dry pieces of chicken. Well grilled vegetables. The glass of white wine was poured very sparingly; just a few sips. Too bad everyone. Missed opportunity.

We have been coming to the option for years with pleasure, but now it is less, we order the dishes, the starter was fine, but the main course only came with meat and fish, when we asked after 5 minutes they said it would be here... When we finished the meat, the fries etc were brought to the table in an unfriendly manner. Shame!

Nice place, delicious food and good service.

Coming here for quite a long time has its ups and downs. As was the case tonight, the food was good, the service was nice, but the environment unfortunately does not improve. It was cold, no atmosphere at all, the tables were not neatly laid out, which is a pity.

Update 2024: There is a new owner but the quality is still excellent - the service is also very good and pleasant. We were here for lunch this time: caesar salad, 12-hour meal and satay dish were all excellent. -=-=- What a nice restaurant! Pleasant service by two young people and a nicely decorated restaurant. The dishes were excellent; The meat was beautifully tender. Fine! A place where we will definitely come back.

This weekend we have been to the cozy b&b for the 5th time, which is always great, but this weekend was a disappointment after taking over the option, the atmosphere is always good, the staff is always friendly, we just wanted something to eat and we were very disappointed. as we are used to for starters baguette very salty soup just like main course steak too many peppers after course we got lady blance we are used to cold ice cream had no idea we were eating ice cream menu to choose from was also very meager we thought we hope this will be expanded

Excellent food in a very nice atmosphere and very nice staff.

Excellent lunch for 2 people: ciabatta with beef strips and salad with prawns and beef. For dessert cappucino with apple pie and fruits with sorbet ice cream havoc (that's what it's really called). Everything was well taken care of and very tasty. Cozy restaurant with friendly service. The price/quality ratio is good.

Lekker eten en vriendelijke bediening. Leuke plek om met een groep gezellig te gaan dineren.

Ondanks een zo als lege zaak, vond de bediening het teveel moeite om drank en eten op een fatsoenlijke manier uit te serveren. Kwaliteit van eten was matig.

Geweldige service en heerlijke lunch en diner, we gaan zeker terug!

Zoals we van D'n Optie gewend zijn, weer heerlijk gegeten en goed bediend door het vriendelijke en sociale personeel.

Het is een gezellig restaurant. Behalve de eend, die erg taai was, was het eten lekker. Maar wat duurde het allemaal lang voordat het voorgerecht en daarna het eten kwam!!!!!

Zéér gezellig terras, sfeervol binnen, super vriendelijk personeel! Echt een aanrader! Heerlijk gegeten, Vissers-broodje en Optie-Burger, ook weer een aanrader van de kaart.

Heerlijk gegeten. Je gaat naar huis met een volle buik, zo vol is je bord. De bediening was zeer vriendelijk. Ik kom er zeker nog een keer eten.

Restaurant/Grand café midden in het centrum van Druten! Diner, Lunch of een drankje op het terras. Heerlijk genieten van het uitzicht.

we wonen al 7 jaar in Druten, maar hier eigenlijk nog nooit eerder geweest. Dat gaat nu wel veranderen, want we hebben lekker gegeten. De bediening is vriendelijk en lekker vlot. Het eten is gewoon goed op smaak en ziet er ook lekker uit. DE parfait is de lekkerste en romigste die ik tot nu toe ergens gegeten heb. Totaal geen kristallen en precies de juiste temperatuur/hardheid.

Even gestopt voor n hapje en drankje bij grand café, zondagmiddag 3 uur. Terras halfvol maar nergens glazen of borden. Blijkbaar geen bediening.. na 10 min. ben ik maar bij de buren gaan zitten. . Halverwege mijn bier verscheen r toch ineens bediening... voorbeeld van slechte service.

Zentral gelegen mit innen und Außenbereich. Die Auswahl der Speisen ist überschaubar. Der Service ist top. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.
