Grand Café Markant in Wijk 01 Binnenstad

Wonderful atmosphere during Carnival! They didn't let too many people in, which resulted in a great crowd. Security was also top-notch; I'm definitely going again today!

Nice service, good beer but waiting time 4 food in the middle of the week was too long.

The toilet smelled terribly of urine...food was ridiculously bad...schnitzel with a lot of chamois and even the soup was dirty...good luck indeed

Beautiful terrace in the center of Oldenzaal. We had a good experience with Happen en Trappen.

What a fantastic place to enjoy lunch in the sun. Very friendly owner, very hospitable, nice atmosphere inside, just walked through to the toilet. We will definitely come back here again!!

We have been to the Netherlands very often and for years and have never eaten as badly as in this restaurant. In addition, the food was presented carelessly and unimaginatively and the friendliness of the service was limited. I'm still shocked a day later! Never again!

This afternoon I had to pay €9.50 for half a liter of Grolsch weizen on the terrace. Outrageous and practical theft. Once, never again.

Lots to see, comfortably furnished

This café is one of the few on the square (or even the only one) without a covered terrace. Inside you will find a special interior with many old things, you have to love it. I personally thought it was a bit old-fashioned/messy. The hostess was nice. I was the only customer at that time. The Beukenhorst cup promised nice coffee, but unfortunately the cappuccino didn't taste that good (a bit of a strange taste). Add a nice chocolate. And fortunately pinning was possible.

A super and authentic grand café. Very cozy atmosphere and furnishings. It is really nice to be here and there is a very friendly atmosphere. You like to stay there. Extremely friendly owner who enjoys a chat. You feel very welcome as a guest. The owner also did her best to make us happy. We had a delicious lunch with really hot cappuccino and delicious snacks. Great stay.

Het is inderdaad een markant café te midden van andere horeca-etablissementen op het plein. Vooral door de prachtige inrichting van het bruine café. Wij zaten op het terras dat, in tegenstelling tot vele aanliggende restaurants, op maandag wel geopend was. Uitgebreide keuze op de kleine kaart.

It is indeed a striking café among other catering establishments on the square. Especially because of the beautiful design of the brown café. We sat on the terrace which, unlike many adjacent restaurants, was open on Mondays. Extensive choice on the small menu.

I had lunch here in beautiful weather. The service is friendly and smooth.

What a fantastic spot this is. First I stood down for a cup of coffee, but since the Palthe Huis on the Marktstraat only opened at 12 noon, I also used my lunch here. I ordered a farmer's omelette with brown bread. Very tasty ! Het interieur is vol met oud - Hollandse gebruiksvoorwerpen . Hahaha I was sitting next to a string bean mill. Als je van minimalistisch houdt , ga hier dan vooral niet naar binnen . De mevrouw die mij bediende is efficiënt , lief en gelukkig niet van het soort dat constant vraagt of het smaakt . Nee , een goede aanrader voor koffie , lunch en ik zag ook lekkere diner opties .

Cozy old Dutch café. Atmosphere nice and old and cozy. Delicious coffee and tasty food. Toilet gentlemen, it looked like an old Moscow metro station. (old tile on the wall) cozy, not so modern toilet. Clean and tidy, fresh.

Prima, vlotte bediening met een praatje. Kwaliteit en prijs voor menu goede verhouding. Mooie lokatie, komen zeker nog eens terug.

Food was less than expected in terms of quality and quantity. Salad on the plate was brown, tomatoes dry and shriveled, beets and carrot tasted like cardboard/refrigerator taste... Vegetable burger turned out not to be a burger, but a small slice from the supermarket (exactly the same), not made into a burger. Indicated to the owner that it was not satisfactory, the answer was that you sometimes had different expectations (yes, for this price...). The lettuce also had to be from today, even though it was brown and limp. No compensation, drink or new fresh salad... Too bad! Could have easily been resolved by providing a solution instead of a rebuttal. Also no 'thanks for the honesty'. As I type this, another customer has also reported it (bad food) - same answer and no solution offered...

Low quality food, high prices, there are better places in Oldenzaal

oldenzaal de glimlach van twente, ook het personeel heeft een grote glimlach, echt vriendelijke en attent. Leuke kaart en mooi terras. De inrichting is uit overgrootmoeders tijd, gezellig twents.

We waren hier om een lunch te nuttigen. De kaart was goed verzorgd en compleet. Bediening is goed, niet op aan te merken. Huisgemaakte bal gehakt viel toch tegen temeer de prijs er wel naar was ( 7,20). Bal gehakt met wit broodje en het voorzien van iets groenvoer en een schepje salade. Het leek overigens wel een fabrieksbal. Mijn tafeldame na een broodje gezond. Wit of bruin brood wordt niet gevraagd of is er simpelweg gewoon niet. Gezien prijs/kwaliteit moet dit beter kunnen.

Coffee machine broken, no mint tea, beer from smelly glass. It's not surprising that the terrace seems empty, while all the others are full.
