Grand-Cafe Neuf in Raalte

Cozy pub, had Friday afternoon drinks with colleagues. Reservations are essential, especially for large groups. The drinks platter was very tasty.

The four of us had a lovely meal at Neuf, but we were a bit disappointed: the main course was a bit cold for two people! We didn't mention it immediately, but simply ate it. Afterwards, when asked if everything was to our liking, we mentioned it. The chef said he would inform them, but no further feedback was forthcoming. We ordered coffee, but there was no offer to pay for it. In short, we spent €185 there, and there was no goodwill. A missed opportunity indeed.

The most charming grand café in Raalte and the surrounding area! Delicious, no-nonsense dishes that are beautifully presented or have a fun twist. The staff exudes a friendly atmosphere. They're eager to please. It's great that you can peek into the kitchen. And of course, everything is under the direction of Brian Poppe.

It's nice that you have a party in the morning or afternoon, but if regular customers then have to eat somewhere else, then you don't really understand the concept of ownership.

Had a delicious lunch, friendly and adequate service

We enjoyed coffee and tea with two apple pies, followed by a delicious glass of rosé and red wine. The service was excellent and friendly. The decor is cozy and inviting.

We were sent here on the recommendation of the receptionist at our overnight accommodation. Very friendly, English-speaking staff. The menu was manageable, yet there was something for everyone in our family of five. We'd be happy to come back if we were ever there again.

The location is nice, but I've rarely had such an uninspired, thrown-together snack platter! Cheap nuts and poor, third-rate meats and cheeses all jumbled together on a board. Sauces in paper containers. No flavor whatsoever. Not worth the money, unfortunately!

Nice location , good food and a very friendly staff.

We enjoyed the best Trappist beer here, La Trappe, with delicious asparagus and a glass of wine. It wasn't too expensive, except for the very expensive draft pilsner. We'll definitely be back without the draft beer; the Trappist beer is better.

Beautiful terrace with many places in the shade

The salmon with risotto, and the ribey 300 gr. Were excellent. Our compliments to the chef. The service is very friendly and hospitable.

The food is delicious, but the menu could be a bit clearer regarding the ingredients. We had an Asian chicken sandwich, but unfortunately, it didn't mention that it was breaded. My husband doesn't like breaded things, so that was a disappointment. Great service, cozy atmosphere. We normally sit outside on the terrace, only missing the lounge sofas from before the pandemic. This was our first time inside. We didn't realize it was so big. Upstairs, service was also prompt. It's a truly great place.

You can always sit here for a nice meal and drinks. Lunch was also delicious. ☺️

We ended up here through our hotel because we could bring our dog "as long as she's nice," haha! On the staff's recommendation, we had a steak tartare sandwich. Loaded with extras: poached egg, lettuce, and sweet and sour. Delicious! Our "neighbors'" other dishes also looked delicious! Next time! One note: if you serve such a thick sandwich, serve it with a large serrated knife, like a steak knife. It makes cutting easier. Delicious coffee, and the whole thing is reasonably priced. A nice location on the edge of the charming town center. Make a detour for lunch here!

Wij hadden in januari een artikel in de krant gelezen met de titel ‘Irritatie over torenhoge prijzen dwingt horeca tot ingrijpen: zo eet en drink je toch voor een goede prijs’. In het artikel werd o.a. Grand café Neuf te Raalte vermeld. De eigenaren melden nog vrolijk in het artikel ‘Onze ervaring is dat klanten goed begrijpen dat alles duurder is geworden, maar dan willen ze wel fantastisch eten en een échte ervaring hebben.’. Wij wonen daar in de buurt, dus we hebben ons voorgenomen om daar maar eens een keertje te gaan eten. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan. Het eten was kwalitatief zeker goed. Echter de kwantiteit was aan de magere kant. Ook de prijs vonden wij nogal fors voor het gebodene. Op de kaart staat o.a. Twentsche hoender voor €26,50. Eerst maar eens gevraagd wat ik kan verwachten: een heel hoentje, een half hoentje, een pootje, een filetje? Het bleek een filet te zijn met wat garnituur. Vooruit dacht ik, laat ik die maar eens proberen. Het bleek echter een heeeel klein hoentje geweest te zijn. Al met al was het filetje nog geen ons. De garnituur bestond uit 3 spruitjes, één champignon, één cherrytomaatje, één asperge, één stukje babymais. Het smaakte allemaal prima, maar op dergelijke miniporties kan ik niet leven. Gelukkig hadden we er nog extra friet en salade bij besteld (ieder €3,50). Die waren netjes geprijsd en het was een prima hoeveelheid. Mijn echtgenote had als voorgerecht Beef Tataki (€12,50). Hetgeen goed smaakte en de hoeveelheid was voor een voorgerecht nog net OK. Als hoofdgerecht had zij de kalfswang voor €27,50. Ook hier was het v.w.b. de hoeveelheid nogal mager. Een stuk of 6 dobbelsteentjes kalfswang met ook een klein beetje garnituur erbij. De kalfswang smaakte overigens prima. De rekening voor 2 biertjes, 2 glazen wijn, 1 voorgerecht, 1 extra salade, 1 extra friet en 2 hoofdgerechten was €91,70. Wij hebben er geen moeite mee om dergelijke prijzen te betalen, maar dan verwachten we ook met een voldaan gevoel weg te gaan. Dat was nu niet het geval. Thuis gekomen hebben we alle twee eerst een boterham met kaas gegeten. We hadden namelijk nog honger. Conclusie: de kwaliteit is prima, maar de kwantiteit laat nogal te wensen over. De titel van het artikel in de krant ‘zo eet en drink je toch voor een goede prijs’ is hier dus niet echt van toepassing.

Had a delicious meal at Neuf, a pity for older people that the toilet is downstairs via a narrow staircase, as my guest said, and not really suitable for wheelchairs.

Sit on the terrace with a drink. Would you like to eat something, says the waiter, that is only from 5.30 pm?? Also don't indicate that there might be something else... Then we had a nice dinner at Koek en Pan in Heino

We were referred here by Hotel de Zwaan, which is not surprising, it belongs to the same chain. It is a cozy café with dining facilities. Now that food is highly recommended, there is a chef in the kitchen who can really work in the better segment. He/she has a great sense of flavors and the presentation of the plates is beautiful. The service is friendly, but due to the crowds, the service took a long time. After the starter, the waiter asked if the main course could go straight away, we responded with a 'yes', 40 minutes later the main course arrived. The manager managed his people well and worked just as hard himself. You can sit upstairs or downstairs. Some of the staff ran up and down the stairs, so they did their best. Definitely eat there, we were pleasantly surprised.

Delicious luxury drinks platter and wide choice of drinks. Very nice staff. Helped us when our son became unfit and had to go home. The drinks board was neatly packed. The only tip we can think of is to purchase another high chair. Now the only high chair they had was already occupied.

I was in the cafe on Friday with my friend june21 watching nederlands & france match . One of the barista was standing in-front of us and i asked her colleague politely to move little bit to the left so we can watch the game and was last 5 minutes of it but she looked at me and didnt move!! That was arrogant and rudely.

Tafels te hoog of stoelen te laag...in iedergeval zat het niet lekker. Vier garnalen kroketjes op brood met sla en saus; smakelijk! Wifi slecht.

Omdat mijn man redelijk lekker heeft gegeten geef ik dit restaurant een redelijk. Ik heb vreselijk slecht gegeten. Kabeljauw met risotto, de kabeljauw was smaakloos en de risotto was duidelijk niet vers, het leek wel stopverf. Sorry maar hier komen we nooit meer

Super nice restaurant, great food and atmosphere

We zaten er zaterdagavond het barpersoneel was onbeschoft en ze concentreren zich alleen op grote groepen tussen de drankjes soms wel 45 minuten wachten om te bestellen als er minder als 3 tafels bezet zijn word je gewoon weg gejaagd en dit kan echt om 11 uur al zijn terwijl er op de site staat dat ze tot 1 uur open zijn op zaterdag

Matig restaurant slappe koffie en de uitsmijter erg klein voor het geld

Op een rustige dinsdagavond spareribs gegeten. Deze waren goed gaar en lekker op smaak.

Hier gegeten met collega's top vriendelijke medewerkers leuke sfeer goed eten.

Goeie service en fijn personeel

Het was een dsg van het wk voetbal, en een tv in het restaurant dus dat bepaald nogal de sfeer. Een glas warm water wordt als thee afgerekend, maar verder waren we gematigd tevreden. Niets fantastisch maar ook niet slecht. Garnalen voorgerecht verdient een pluim.

Gezellige uitstraling, zit plaatsen met privacy aanwezig.

I don't know where to start. I would give this restaurant 8 stars if I could. Wonderful in every way. Great service by an attentive staff, tasty food and desserts, and the perfect atmosphere for small or large gatherings. I give my highest recommendation for this restaurant.

Mooie en chique aankleding van het restaurant. Het eten en drinken smaakte zeer goed. En qua hoeveelheid zeker genoeg, aangezien we niet eens alles op kregen. Toch wel een paar puntjes van kritiek, aan de tafel naast ons zaten ongeveer 8 mannen te kaarten wat het meer op een kroeg liet lijken. Op het begin kwam de bediening vaak genoeg om te kijken of we wat nodig hadden, helaas waren ze ons op het eind vergeten en kwam de karaf met water helaas ook niet meer. Al met al een heel fijn restaurant om te eten, de punten van kritiek waren waarschijnlijk maar een momentopname.

Heerlijk gegeten, vriendelijke bediening. Fijne stoelen binnen en inrichting is mooi/warm/knus.

Onverwacht hier gegeten. Maar wow wat een feestje. Een hele mooie en knusse sfeer, aardige bediening en heerlijk eten. We komen graag weer terug.

Grand cafe Neuf is een mooi cafe. Naast een mooie lijst bieren was er ook een zoete witte wijn waarbij de ober de moeite nam om er het één en ander over te vertellen. Iets wat niet gebruikelijk is. In Amsterdam is zelfs geen zoete witte wijn te vinden. Maar ja das amsterdam hè. De locatie van Neuf in Raalte is super te noemen en een mooi terras completeerd het geheel. Lijkt me een superlocatie voor een feest. Als ik hier zou wonen zou ik zeker vaker komen.

Leuk terras vriendelijke bediening de uitsmijter was lekker de presentatie was nogal saai en de rauwkost was erg doorsnee maar eerlijk is eerlijk het was ook niet duur ...pluspunt regionaal bier op de bierkaart

Lekker gegeten super vriendelijk personeel

Lekker terras met loungebanken vlotte bediening. Helaas kan binnen een biertje halen en dan buiten staand opdrinken dan weer niet: het moet "op een tafelnummer geboekt" worden. Jammer dit.....

Im Zentrum von Raalte gelegen kommt man fast nicht daran vorbei ;-) Die Speisekarte war bei unserem Besuch übersichtlich. Ein vegetarisches Gericht haben wir nicht entdecken können, Vorspeisen wurden um 20:30 Uhr (Küche freitags geöffnet bis 22:00 Uhr) auch nicht mehr angeboten. Unsere Gerichte waren von guter Qualität, die Portionen ausreichend. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam. Für unseren Geschmack kam sie etwas zu oft an unserem Tisch, mit der Frage, ob wir noch etwas trinken möchten, obwohl die Gläser nicht leer waren. Im Großen und Ganzen jedoch eine Empfehlung unsererseits! :-)

Geweldige ambiance super bediening voortreffelijk gegeten

Voor de 1e kerstdag een verrassingslunch voor mijn ouders geregeld. Gisteren nog even gebeld omdat een mijn vader nogal kieskeurig is als het gaat om eten. Aan de kaart ligt het niet. Ruime mogelijkheden dus voor ieder wat wils. Ontvang ik van Brian Poppe een mail dat ze de lunch maatwerk kunnen inzetten dus een prima oplossing. Blijken mijn ouders die op leeftijd zijn de rit naar Raalte niet aan te durven en alternatieven zijn er niet gezien de krappe planning op deze dag. Had ze graag opgehaald. Dikke hulde dus voor Brian en zijn crew. Dit is wat je bij blijft. Persoonlijke aandacht en een warm welkom. Wij komen in de rebound op een ander tijdstip bij jullie eten. Thx. Brian.
