We had dinner at Rue de la Gare tonight. The service was excellent—especially Niels, who was prompt, friendly, and helpful. His two colleagues were also very friendly. When I told them we were on the bus and it would be leaving in twenty minutes, the desserts were quickly brought to the table. The food was delicious. The starters were served with pieces of baguette and a generous amount of herb butter. As another review already mentioned, the soup wasn't real Tom Kha Gai—but then again, it's not advertised as such. The burger was large and delicious; the cheesecake was perfect. My partner was also very pleased with the food. We ate in the garden, in the sun but sheltered by the trees. Perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Highly recommended! Friendly welcome, fast service, we were even asked if we wanted the main course right away or if we wanted to wait a little longer. A bit noisy, not much furnishings so you hear everything. The Tom Kha Gai was not what was promised, it tasted too much like curry, and there is no curry in Tom Kha Gai. Still tasty, but that wasn't right. Tom Kha Gai is chicken stock/galangal/coconut milk/lime/fish sauce/lemongrass/red pepper. I couldn't recognize any of that.

We had made a reservation for 4 people. Unfortunately everything was full, but we were able to wait at the bar for a while. It was packed and we ended up waiting for 25 minutes. Called Groothuis and they made a spot for us there. Very unpleasant introduction to this case and I can name 10 ways I would have done differently. Downright a mockery

Cozy restaurant with excellent service that cares about its guests. Delicious food; the spareribs in particular are fantastic, as is the dame blanche. We would love to go back there again when the opportunity arises!

Not a winner. In terms of café and drinks it is a great place, but in terms of food we didn't think it was anything special. (unlike other reviews here) In our opinion, the price/quality ratio is poor. The owner? (a man) didn't really feel like it either. The ladies, on the other hand, were very friendly and cheerful. So for a beer (and music, I read somewhere): go for it, because it has the atmosphere of a brown café. If you want a nice bite to eat: look further. (with the exception of the cheesecake: it was very tasty)

An old-fashioned café where you can also enjoy delicious food. Had a carpaccio as a starter and a tournedos as a main course. It's been a long time since we ate such a tasty piece of meat. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. We will definitely eat here more often.

Hele leuke en lekkere avond gehad bij Rue de la Gare! Personeel is super vriendelijk en verwelkomend. De porties eten zijn enigszins enorm. Houd daar rekening mee, vooral als je een kleine eter bent. Je krijgt dus waar voor je geld. Het is óók nog eens ontzettend lekker en lange wachttijden waren er niet. Goede bierkaart ook! Mooie locatie: sfeervol en warm ingericht, gaaf historisch pand met nog veel historische kenmerken. Al met al, een absolute aanrader voor wie lekker wil eten in Emmen.

Door B&B Villa Emmen in de Stationsstraat zijn we geattendeerd op Rue de la Gare. Tijdig reserveren was nodig maar dubbel en dwars waard! Gezellig, netjes en lekker!

Via diner cadeau kaart gezocht naar een restaurant in de buurt van odoorn omdat we daar n hotel hadden geboekt en de volgende dag naar Wildlands gaan. Dit restaurant kwam naar voren en zag er goed uit. Ook omdat ze n kindermenu hadden want onze dochter lust niet veel. Het eten was heerlijk en gezellig druk. Bediening was vriendelijk.

Alleen op het terras een paar biertjes gedronken.

Gisteren met de hele familie gegeten en gedronken, in 1 woord perfect. Ontspannen sfeer, uitstekende bediening(niets is hun teveel) en vooral heerlijk gegeten en een hele relaxte sfeer.

Spontaan naar binnen gestapt. Ge-wel-dig! Gezellige sfeer. Geitenkaassalade (hoofdgerecht) ècht een aanrader.

Super gegeten, hele leuke bediening, en tevens onze gevallen kleinzoon goed van pleisters, Sprite, en snoepjes voorzien, toppie voor iedereen.

Midweek weg voor mijn verjaardag naar Erica, laatste avond wouden we lekker eten en via Google hierop uitgekomen. Het voorgerecht was heerlijk maar de spareribs waren goddelijk! Je had geen mes nodig je kan de botten er zo uithalen, heerlijk mals. Mijn vrouw en ik kregen het beide niet op dus we kregen het in een doosje mee naar huis. Ook veel Belgische bieren te krijgen. Sfeer en bediening was perfect!
