Best place where you can eat in Hengelo. I ordered a souvlaki that was excellent and at the desert a lava cake with cream that was even better. Update: I downgraded to 4 stars because they do not have Portokalopita

Food is very good and includes a welcome shot of Ouzo. Loved the mixed grill Ouzo. Vegetarian choices enough. Salad is DIY saladbar. Since the place was so huge, the atmosphere wasn't that cozy. Do think this is the best family Greek in Hengelo.

Had dinner with my parents during prime time on a Sunday. Warm and fast service—despite the restaurant being full—with a great variety of classic Greek dishes. Basic and tasty at an affordable price. I also thought it was very sweet that they gave us a small glass of ouzo beforehand! It's nice that there are still restaurants that don't add every last crumb to the bill :)

Update 2025: Since we received undercooked food twice in one year (once of which was chicken), my rating has dropped significantly; I also canceled my last reservation and went elsewhere. No matter how good the service and atmosphere are, the food simply has to be good. -- Attended twice in one week, simply fantastic food, generous portions, deliciously seasoned, very friendly staff, clean tables and chairs, and a nice ambiance. A nice, separate, clean, and fresh salad bar: what are you waiting for? Make a reservation! (You might need to, as it gets quite busy).

The restaurant looks spacious and was fairly full, but not noisy. We received a warm welcome. All the Greek classics are on the menu. We chose the oven dishes and two appetizers. The spanakotiropika and dolmadakia were good. However, the main course, the béchamel porridge with some zucchini, potato slices, and far too much flavorless cheese in a casserole dish, simply couldn't be called moussaka. The eggplant that should give this dish its flavor, and was listed on the menu, wasn't there. The other oven dishes were mediocre. It was good that we could get a glass of water with our bottle of wine. I'd say send the chef to Greece to learn how to make moussaka.

It's our favorite Greek restaurant. The service is excellent, the head waiter is very attentive and always pays attention to detail. The portions are large, and the meat and vegetables are fresh. The place is spacious, has a salad bar, and is very clean. I love the decor.

Wij hebben 6 weken geleden voor ons huwelijk een diner bon gehad en gingen dus het eten. Het eten was wel goed maar de bediening arrogant (daarmee bedoelen we de man/eigenaar denk ik). De salade bar was zo goed als leeg en wat er lag , lag er al een tijde in. Toen wij onze diner bin wilde inleveren zei de man LACHEND dat die niet meer geldig was sinds 1dag!!!! Huh deed net meer mee een die bon omdat ze commissie moesten afdragen, en hij vond dat erg laconiek en leek het ook erg leuk te vinden, gezien de brede glimlach op zijn gezicht. Wij vonden dat zeker niet het geval en vroegen hem hoe wij dat zouden moeten weten gezien hij in de lijst van deelnemers vermeld staat. Ohh zegt hij er hangt een briefje bij de deur. Wij vonden het zeer onbeschoft en ook zeker niet klantvriendelijk en zeiden dat ook tegen hem. Maar dat wuifde hij lachend weg, Wij komen hier nooit meer en zullen dit overal vermelden omdat wij ons goed in de maling genomen voelen door dit bedrijf! Als dot de klantvriendelijke manier is die dit bedrijf er op na houdt dan is dat verre van klantvriendelijk. BELACHELIJKE reactie en ook de manier waarop!!!!!!!!! Groet Barry

🌟 An all-round successful visit – absolutely recommended! 🌟 We were visiting the area and this restaurant was highly recommended to us by several people – and rightly so! We received a warm welcome as soon as we entered. The entire team was extremely friendly and attentive. What was particularly pleasant was that many of the waiters spoke very good German, which made communication easier while still maintaining the Greek flair. For our starters, we were able to help ourselves to the fresh and generously stocked salad buffet. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail and the three different dips with bread – everything arrived lightning fast and tasted excellent. For the main course, we spontaneously asked if we could share the platter for two with three people – absolutely no problem! We opted for a mixed fish and meat platter. The fish was swapped upon request, and even lamb could be added without any problems – this service deserves special praise! The meat was cooked to perfection, and the fish was wonderfully tender. Everything was lovingly prepared. They even provided wet wipes for hand cleaning – a small gesture with a big impact. During the meal, we were politely asked twice whether everything was to our satisfaction. Finally, we were offered the dessert menu – a perfect end to a truly successful evening. The restaurant seemed a bit dark overall, but we were lucky enough to get a great seat by the window – which created a particularly pleasant atmosphere. In summary: A wonderful culinary experience with authentic hospitality. We would be happy to return and can recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food and attentive service.

Very nice restaurants with cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Food was fantastic and the portions were very generous!! As a group we shared mussels, calamari, feta , and dolmadakia for starers.All were amazing but the ultimate was the baked mussels! My wife had the mix Anthony, and I had the arisschotel. We were both extremely satisfied with the flavors and were beyond full. This is a meat eaters paradise!! Can't wait to visit again and explore more of the menu

Het eten was oké, maar als je met een grote groep bent laten ze overal voor betalen! Zelfs zo erg dat we uiteindelijk hebben betaald voor een heel extra hoofdgerecht van €30,-. Het voelt als oplichting, geen prettig zit gehad daar! Zeker geen aanrader, maar als je er heen gaat check de bon goed. Voor je het weet ben je de Sjaak!

What do you mean, you end with an ouzo? Yamas! Before you get to that point, taste the bifteki, the mousaka and/or the souvlaki and accompany it with tzatziki. And that for a reasonable price. Simply fantastic!

Afhaal was altijd lekker. Al een tijd niet meer grieks gehad.Nu eens hier binnen gezeten. Bediening vlot en netjes. Had de mix Ouzo. De bifteki was altijd lekker, maar nu gewoon een groothandel hamburger. dik en compact. Voorheen werd het zelf gemaakt. Erg jammer. Verder was de smaak van de kip vlakker dan voorheen voor mijn gevoel. Miste ook de grilstrepen. De gyros was wel weer erg lekker. Verder kan je hier prima eten voor een nette prijs.

Everything was good, food and service. At a birthday party as a surprise, grandson came unexpectedly and was charged an extra 4 euros for cutlery and plate. What we thought was a shame was our impression of the business.

Drie jaar geleden tijdens vakantie in Hengelo hier aantal keer gegeten. Vandaag opnieuw in de buurt dus weer gereserveerd. De verwachting was hoog en daar is zeer zeker aan voldaan. Goed meegedacht met allergieën. Voorgerecht inktvis mmmmm En voor partner garnalen cocktail ook lekker. En hoofdgerecht kipfilet met gyros. Heel verrassend werd de portie op ons verzoek aangepast maar ook de prijs. Top! De gyros had iets warmer mogen zijn maar de smaak was uitstekend. Al met al net op tijd voor de vakantie van het restaurant. Gelukkig. Komen, als we in de buurt zijn zeer zeker terug.

The food is delicious. The main meal comes with a self-service salad bar, rice, chips and watermelon. The staff is friendly and the drinks are delicious. The Greek desserts are special.

Upon arrival we were welcomed very nicely by the lady behind the bar and we were able to take a seat outside immediately. This also boded well for the rest of the service as it was very good. The place was full, which gave a good feeling. After ordering the first drinks we were surprised with a shot of Ouzo, where do you get that nowadays! The food was prepared super well and quickly and the taste was delicious. The portions were just right and the quality was top notch. For this price you will not easily find better food in the region.

After the renovation a much more spacious and enjoyable experience. Well prepared meat, excellent service. Definitely worth repeating. 2024: another enjoyable experience.

We had a delicious meal. The meat was tender and highly flavoured. Maybe a little too much for those who eat almost no salt, but for us it is very tasty. Be sure to come back to see if this was a one-off or worth repeating.

The food was very good, the portions were generous and everything was savory. You also get a little aperitif shot at the beginning. The baklava was ok. The service is a bit slow and even if everyone was polite and welcoming it can get a bit frustrating trying to get the teams' attention.

I ordered salmon with calamari and large shrimps. I expected the salmon and shrimp to be freshly cooked on the grill so I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately I discovered that it was all deep fried, which made it quite chewy. (why batter a shrimp in its shell and then fry it???) So not exactly fresh. I didn't expect this from this restaurant.

Despite the hustle and bustle of King's Day, the food and service were excellent. There were plenty of staff and they were certainly friendly (despite the crowds). If you like meat, you'll love it here! The portions are more than sufficient. Parking is available on the nearby square, it is free in the evening, just check what time it is. In any case, on Saturdays from 5 p.m. I gave 3 stars for the atmosphere, because all the tables are arranged in one large room, with an occasional low divider between them. So I didn't think it was really intimate. That makes up for the friendly service and delicious food. Book on time, because Delphi is a popular restaurant in Hengelo. Worth repeating.
