Good food, no reservation, reasonably priced compared to other places nearby.

Unfortunately, this time it was nothing like we were used to. I didn't find the atmosphere pleasant, and the staff didn't come across as spontaneous or welcoming. Upon entering, I wasn't even greeted with a welcome. I had to walk across the street myself to indicate that I had reserved a table. Hello, I am a guest; surely you can expect a little hospitality. Fortunately, there was one Dutch girl who *was* friendly and walked around with a smile. She was actually the only one who came across as genuinely nice and welcoming. The food was also very disappointing, unfortunately. It had more of a cafeteria vibe than the Greek atmosphere and quality I expected. In my opinion, the food lacked the love and attention you would expect at a Greek restaurant. The steak, for example, was simply served with some onions, and the whole thing felt very basic. Honestly, I could have made some of the dishes at home. What I found particularly unpleasant was that a glass of ouzo was placed in front of my child without a word. My child thought it was water. As far as I am concerned, that really needs to be paid more attention to, especially when there are children at the table. That is meant for an adult, not for a child! Unfortunately, this time it no longer felt like a cozy Greek restaurant to me, but rather like an ordinary eatery lacking the Greek atmosphere, hospitality, and attention I am used to. It is a real shame, but unfortunately, this was the last time for me.

The food here is so delicious. The owner is such a sweet lady who makes sure you are treated well. The meat is very tender and you get great value for money. Highly recommended!

Update 2025: Since we were served undercooked food twice in one year (one of which was chicken), my rating has dropped significantly; I also cancelled my last reservation and went somewhere else. Update 2026: ate there again for the first time today; our food was good, though it was a shame that most of the waitresses were grumpy *and* that undercooked food was being served two tables away. No matter how good the service and atmosphere are, the food simply has to be good. -- Ate there twice in one week, simply fantastic food, generous portions, deliciously seasoned, very friendly staff, neat tables and chairs, and a nice ambiance, tasty, separate, neat, and fresh salad bar: what are you waiting for > make a reservation! (that might be necessary, it gets quite busy).

As lovers of Greek cuisine, we have visited many Greek restaurants. This time, we were in Hengelo at restaurant Delphi during a short holiday at Van der Valk; it is about three kilometers by bike. The restaurant has an extensive menu, and choosing was not difficult. Unfortunately, no fasolada, so we had onion soup followed by the beef stifado. A few tasty glasses of imiglycos to go with it, plus the complimentary uzó. All in all, a successful dinner. This restaurant is one of the few that still has a salad bar. Reservations recommended.

I have been travelling a-lot in the world. I would say this place is the best for food and staff quality. I will definitely will come back to this restaurant whenever I make my way to Hengelo🫶

Good food and very friendly service. The portions are slightly smaller (read: better) than at other Greek restaurants, but still more than sufficient. The price-quality ratio is excellent! Unfortunately, we were not allowed to bring our small dog. Tip: a door closer on the front door is recommended during colder outside temperatures. Currently, when a customer walks in or out, people often forget to manually close the door again, causing a cold draft in the areas near the door.

Had a delicious Greek meal and it wasn't expensive. Beautiful, spacious area since the renovation. Very friendly staff. Definitely recommended! You do need to make a reservation on the weekend, as it can get very busy.

We ate here with our 14-year-old grandson. He has a severe gluten allergy, and this was taken into account very well. He also enjoyed the delicious food.

Delicious Greek food with fast but unhurried service

The lamb and tenderloin with the accompanying sauces were delicious, but the pork tenderloin was grilled too long for my liking and therefore too dry. The atmosphere and service were excellent, so definitely recommended.

The food is just normal like any other greek restaurant. We were welcomed warmly and friendly. The lady staffs are nice and friendly except the man who cannot wait for us to finish our food or leave, I was still munching my fried and he came asking if we were done, my daughter was surprised andnjust said. I felt ashamed that he hurriedly clean uo our table like he cant wait for us to throw out. I was about to give a tip but felt a little uneasy the way he ended our happy dinner.

As soon as we came in, we got assisted to our table. The servers came quick and asked if we needed anything as soon as our drinks or food was out. It was a lovely place and we got a free shot when we arrived. It was lovely and all of the food was amazing. + There is a free salad bar.

Best place where you can eat in Hengelo. I ordered a souvlaki that was excellent and at the desert a lava cake with cream that was even better. Update: I downgraded to 4 stars because they do not have Portokalopita

Food is very good and includes a welcome shot of Ouzo. Loved the mixed grill Ouzo. Vegetarian choices enough. Salad is DIY saladbar. Since the place was so huge, the atmosphere wasn't that cozy. Do think this is the best family Greek in Hengelo.

Had dinner with my parents during prime time on a Sunday. Warm and fast service—despite the restaurant being full—with a great variety of classic Greek dishes. Basic and tasty at an affordable price. I also thought it was very sweet that they gave us a small glass of ouzo beforehand! It's nice that there are still restaurants that don't add every last crumb to the bill :)

The restaurant looks spacious and was fairly full, but not noisy. We received a warm welcome. All the Greek classics are on the menu. We chose the oven dishes and two appetizers. The spanakotiropika and dolmadakia were good. However, the main course, the béchamel porridge with some zucchini, potato slices, and far too much flavorless cheese in a casserole dish, simply couldn't be called moussaka. The eggplant that should give this dish its flavor, and was listed on the menu, wasn't there. The other oven dishes were mediocre. It was good that we could get a glass of water with our bottle of wine. I'd say send the chef to Greece to learn how to make moussaka.

It's our favorite Greek restaurant. The service is excellent, the head waiter is very attentive and always pays attention to detail. The portions are large, and the meat and vegetables are fresh. The place is spacious, has a salad bar, and is very clean. I love the decor.

Wij hebben 6 weken geleden voor ons huwelijk een diner bon gehad en gingen dus het eten. Het eten was wel goed maar de bediening arrogant (daarmee bedoelen we de man/eigenaar denk ik). De salade bar was zo goed als leeg en wat er lag , lag er al een tijde in. Toen wij onze diner bin wilde inleveren zei de man LACHEND dat die niet meer geldig was sinds 1dag!!!! Huh deed net meer mee een die bon omdat ze commissie moesten afdragen, en hij vond dat erg laconiek en leek het ook erg leuk te vinden, gezien de brede glimlach op zijn gezicht. Wij vonden dat zeker niet het geval en vroegen hem hoe wij dat zouden moeten weten gezien hij in de lijst van deelnemers vermeld staat. Ohh zegt hij er hangt een briefje bij de deur. Wij vonden het zeer onbeschoft en ook zeker niet klantvriendelijk en zeiden dat ook tegen hem. Maar dat wuifde hij lachend weg, Wij komen hier nooit meer en zullen dit overal vermelden omdat wij ons goed in de maling genomen voelen door dit bedrijf! Als dot de klantvriendelijke manier is die dit bedrijf er op na houdt dan is dat verre van klantvriendelijk. BELACHELIJKE reactie en ook de manier waarop!!!!!!!!! Groet Barry

🌟 An all-round successful visit – absolutely recommended! 🌟 We were visiting the area and this restaurant was highly recommended to us by several people – and rightly so! We received a warm welcome as soon as we entered. The entire team was extremely friendly and attentive. What was particularly pleasant was that many of the waiters spoke very good German, which made communication easier while still maintaining the Greek flair. For our starters, we were able to help ourselves to the fresh and generously stocked salad buffet. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail and the three different dips with bread – everything arrived lightning fast and tasted excellent. For the main course, we spontaneously asked if we could share the platter for two with three people – absolutely no problem! We opted for a mixed fish and meat platter. The fish was swapped upon request, and even lamb could be added without any problems – this service deserves special praise! The meat was cooked to perfection, and the fish was wonderfully tender. Everything was lovingly prepared. They even provided wet wipes for hand cleaning – a small gesture with a big impact. During the meal, we were politely asked twice whether everything was to our satisfaction. Finally, we were offered the dessert menu – a perfect end to a truly successful evening. The restaurant seemed a bit dark overall, but we were lucky enough to get a great seat by the window – which created a particularly pleasant atmosphere. In summary: A wonderful culinary experience with authentic hospitality. We would be happy to return and can recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food and attentive service.

Very nice restaurants with cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Food was fantastic and the portions were very generous!! As a group we shared mussels, calamari, feta , and dolmadakia for starers.All were amazing but the ultimate was the baked mussels! My wife had the mix Anthony, and I had the arisschotel. We were both extremely satisfied with the flavors and were beyond full. This is a meat eaters paradise!! Can't wait to visit again and explore more of the menu

Het eten was oké, maar als je met een grote groep bent laten ze overal voor betalen! Zelfs zo erg dat we uiteindelijk hebben betaald voor een heel extra hoofdgerecht van €30,-. Het voelt als oplichting, geen prettig zit gehad daar! Zeker geen aanrader, maar als je er heen gaat check de bon goed. Voor je het weet ben je de Sjaak!
