⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended! The food at Layali Al Sham in Nijmegen was delicious and full of flavor. 😋 The dishes were fresh and nicely spiced, with authentic Syrian flavors. Very clean, beautiful place with polite staff. I saw some bad reviews but really can't understand why. Please look at that photo... mixed grill for €20 but... And then they still complain... those people are crazy. This is definitely worth a repeat visit and I recommend it to everyone!

I ate a lamb shawarma sandwich; there was hardly any meat in it, 50 grams max. For 9 euros, you expect more.

The food here is affordable and super tasty. The dishes have an authentic Syrian flavor. I used to be a customer at the old location and they have maintained the same (good) quality at this one! I definitely recommend the food here.

Friendly service, salads fine. Chicken and vegetables, however, scorched(!) / very overcooked, soggy fries.

When we arrived, we ordered a portion of broasted chicken. The employee asked if we wanted to eat here or take it away. We said we wanted to eat here. Then he told us that the order would take exactly twenty minutes. We said that was no problem. We placed our order at 2:09 PM. After twenty minutes, then half an hour, and eventually even longer, we still hadn't received our order. Meanwhile, the people around us were getting their food, while we were still sitting there waiting. I went inside to ask what was going on. Then he said that there was a problem with the oven and that was why our order was delayed. But no one had come over to explain this. If someone had told us that immediately, I would have understood. Instead, we were simply left to our own devices without any information. Moreover, I am certain that my order was given to another customer who wanted to take the food away. Why should I have to pay for that? That is why I told him that this is the first and last time I will be coming to this restaurant. Time is money. You made me wait more than an hour for a simple chicken meal. Where were you supposed to get that chicken from?

The food was delicious, five-star service. Truly, I've never seen a Syrian restaurant in Naimchen with such quality, cleanliness, and service. I placed an order at 15:00 and received an estimated delivery time of 15:55; no problem. At 16:20 the order still hadn't arrived, so I called the shop. The gentleman who answered the phone (without saying anything at all) said, without me having mentioned my name or address, that my order was on its way; so I guess things go wrong more often. When I pointed out that he didn't even ask what address the order was placed at, he said, "What is your question? Do you want to place an order?" The man was very unfriendly. When my husband called again himself later, at 16:33, he was told that the order would be there in 5 minutes. In the end, it wasn't until just before 5. When it's busy, it's understandable that it takes a bit longer, but an hour without letting us know anything is excessive. Combined with how unfriendly the man on the phone was, this ensures that we will not order here again.

Extremely disappointing experience. The food tasted terrible and was excessively oily. The meat looked old, unappetizing, and had a foul smell. On top of that, the prices are far too high for such poor quality and terrible service. I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.

Just opened here in Nijmegen East I thought it would be nice to give it a try Never again The chicken shawarma sandwich with authentic Arabic bread consisted of grey chunks of seasoned chicken fillet in a sort of deep-fried durum that was dripping with grease Garlic sauce was nowhere to be found The burger menu was a small box with the burger crammed into a piece of aluminum foil and exactly 6 cold, soggy fries thrown on top And the extra portion of fries that was ordered wasn't included I'm only just reading now that they used to be in Beuningen with the same bad reviews I should have read that first, then I would have driven on to Dwars or Family Corner

This restaurant is terrible. We ordered a strange mixed grill, and instead of the apartments, they sent us a picture of chicken thighs to save money. When we asked, they said the thighs are more tender. The service was awful, the food was bad, and half the staff looked like street urchins picked up from camps.

My experience at the restaurant was excellent! I ate the kebab, which tasted so good it felt like you were in Aleppo, Syria. I also tried the Maria (toshka) dish, which tasted amazing. The eggplant dip was also excellent, with a balanced spice mix. I recommend everyone try this restaurant if they want authentic Syrian flavor and delicious food.
