We've been coming here for years, but this time was truly terrible. The service was slow, and we had to wait over an hour for our main course. Unfortunately, it wasn't up to par. As compensation, we were offered dessert on the house, but the kitchen was already closed, so the selection was very limited. I sent an email afterward, but unfortunately, I didn't receive a response. We won't be back anytime soon.

I tried to arrange dinner at Hangar with my company. The group wasn't too large, and the atmosphere looked good. Unfortunately, I was strung along and got the feeling they weren't interested in us coming to dinner. I called first, and was told only one person caters to large groups and would call me back, but that never happened. I called again, and yes, she wasn't there, so I emailed her. I emailed, and another week without a response. Then I called again, and I wasn't warmly greeted and told off for being busy because of the Sailing season, so I had to email again. I visited during the Sailing season; yes, busy, I only read the email on Tuesday. No way. Unfortunately, and a real shame, we weren't allowed to come for dinner.

A cozy restaurant with very friendly staff. The view over the water is also fantastic. It was especially fun watching all the boats and ships sail by when we were sailing. The food was delicious, so we'll definitely be back.

The sailing event with Brut de Mer was a complete joke. Dietary requirements were communicated, but nothing was done about them. The staff couldn't tell if anything contained pork. We had to wait an hour before any food was served. And then it was pork... half the menu I didn't dare eat, and the other half was truly subpar. Simply not tasty. The Brut de Mer served with only a wooden skewer? It made it impossible to eat the crab claws properly... the staff said they had nothing but the wooden skewers. Absolutely ridiculous. And then the evening turned into a boomer party for the owner. Very awkward and inappropriate. Not everyone is looking forward to that. His name is Tim, by the way, and he was thanked a hundred times by the singer. No idea why, because he just stood there with a cigarette and a glass of wine or scroppino, ordering his staff around 20 cm from our table. Very bizarre and unprofessional. Not recommended. Please spend your money elsewhere.

That was a nightmare experience! We booked a table based on their Sail Fest promotion, which promised a nice view of the water, a relaxing atmosphere, and delicious food. We received none of that. If we hadn’t already paid more than €80 per person in advance, we would have left as soon as we saw our table. Instead of a water view, we were placed far away, stuck between the grill area and the music stage, where it was so loud we couldn’t even hear ourselves. We waited half an hour just to receive the menu. The food was terrible, and even after I clearly ordered a non-alcoholic mocktail several times (being visibly pregnant), they brought me an alcoholic drink! This was the worst dining experience I’ve had in Amsterdam. Don’t give them any money in advance , it’s basically a scam. Our evening was completely ruined, and we didn’t even wait for the last meal to arrive before leaving

We had booked the SAIL package. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was very disappointing. We also found it unsatisfactory. The seafood platter came without any utensils, so everyone had to hit the back of the crab with a knife, as advised by the waiter. It was also very tasteless, and only some mayonnaise was served as a dressing. The food was also mostly cold. The event's decor was cozy, although heaters would have been a good idea. All in all, not what we expected given the associated costs (85 euros per person, excluding drinks, for 7 dishes and a scroppino; we went home hungry).

DO NOT book or pay here in advance. The lackadaisical attitude regarding the quality of the food and the mentality of the kitchen and manager reeks of "don't care, we've already made our money." A self-respecting chef wouldn't tarnish their reputation with such incompetent management of this establishment. The waitstaff is young and inexperienced, but friendly. They show dedication, but the basic equipment and attitude of the kitchen and manager are so poor that no amount of good will can compensate. They were deeply moved by our feedback after each course. The waitstaff's response: "We've indeed had other complaints; I shared your feedback with the kitchen, but they looked at me strangely." We shared this observation with the manager, who listened with indifference and swapped one plate of cold, lukewarm meat for another. Absolutely no effort was made to genuinely improve anything. The feedback on the dishes: "Fruit de mer comes first. No appetizers as listed on the menu." It consists solely of shellfish and crustaceans. Mostly dried out, the crab and lobster legs are uncracked or only partially cracked, and there's no cracker with the dish. So, a lot of good meat is thrown away. Only then do two mini-dishes arrive simultaneously (the reservation stated three, but the third was never seen). One of them still has a piece of rind that's impossible to chew or swallow. Then comes an overcooked paella with several identical shellfish – not tasty. The reservation stated low-carb. No consideration was given. No alternatives whatsoever. Only after mentioning it twice is the suggestion made to double the next course (pointed cabbage). This was the least bad of all the courses. Then comes the meat course. Dried and poorly cleaned chicken, slightly lukewarm on the outside, cold on the inside. The beef was also cold. No improvement with the exchange. As a customer, you're essentially stuck because the full amount had already been paid at the time of reservation. This is the first time in my life I've considered leaving without paying the bill (just for drinks). And afterward, I actually regret having paid it. And red wine by the glass is only available as Merlot with a menu that's grossly overpriced. In short, everything is subpar, except for a few friendly but powerless young waitstaff. The owner and chef, who are running the place like this, don't deserve this incredibly beautiful location. This is where people with a passion for their craft should be able to express their talents.

We were going to Sail and end the day with a nice dinner by the water. "Restaurant" de Hangaar had put together a lovely menu. So we made a reservation for the 8-11 pm time slot. The full amount for the menu had to be paid in advance. In retrospect, I completely understand the reasoning behind this. If I hadn't already paid, I probably would have left after a nearly impossible attempt to order a drink. The service: lovely people, but it was clear they had no training in the hospitality industry. That's true in many restaurants, of course. However, the quality of the product you offer to guests increases your pride and passion for a hospitality business. That clearly wasn't the case here. The feedback we gave about the food was passed on by the service to the kitchen, and that's where it ended. My girlfriend personally approached the manager and literally brought him to our table so we could discuss the quality of the meat dish that had just been presented. Three types of meat and a Citroën. Prepared according to a new method. "Cold off the grill." According to the manager, it should have been hot. So he resolved the issue by getting a new plate with cold meat again. I almost forgot to mention something positive. The online reservation system had a space for dietary requests, so we took advantage of that. However, this was completely ignored. Given the price of 170 euros for a dinner for two, I expected something of quality, but I would have definitely been happy with a Wopper from Burger King.

Being terrified that someone might use your restroom and then referring everyone to nearby restaurants. If you think you can create an exclusive atmosphere or something like that, you've certainly achieved it!

Reserved a table outside at Sail In. Called twice to ask if there would be a view of the boats. Sure enough, tall ships sail past here. That was a lie. Had a lovely day but didn't see a boat!

Wednesday night at Sail we had a fantastic evening with great live music that perfectly matched the atmosphere. The menu was delicious, with a wonderful amount of fish, and the highlight for me was the pointed cabbage! I never thought I'd enjoy it so much... A fantastic evening!

The food is way below par, very poor value for money. So very disappointing.

Ordered chicken thighs but got chicken legs, the entrecote was all but gone. The bread arrived at the same time as the main course. The steak was gone. And the coffee was very lukewarm. Never again.

Nice place, food arrived late (80 minutes), mussels shouldn't be ordered, and the steak was cold. In short, if you're looking for quality, don't go here.

Fantastic evening! They weren't actually open due to renovations, but we were welcomed with open arms with snacks and drinks. My date was a success, and if it doesn't continue, it certainly wasn't your fault. Highly recommended.

What an unforgettable day at the Hangar! We started our wedding celebration in a special way: we arrived by boat, while our guests were waiting for us on the dock in the sunshine with a welcome cocktail. A beautiful sight and a magical start to the evening. Then we enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner on the terrace. The setting was stylish and atmospheric – we received so many compliments about both the food and the decorations. After that, the party really got going… and what a party it was! A fantastic party that we will never forget. From the moment we talked to Joley about getting married at the Hangar, it felt right. She was incredibly helpful, thought through everything, and made us feel like anything was possible. The result truly exceeded all our expectations. The Hangar was the perfect location for the most beautiful day of our lives!

What a mess! Staff would rather walk past you with chairs and plants than come and take a drink order. After 15 minutes we left again…

Hangar seemed to us the best place for a bite and a drink on a warm Friday night. Unfortunately that was absolutely not the case. This restaurant does not understand anything: My negroni (13 euros) was not a negroni but some kind of cocktail mix from a cocktail machine. You could see that and you could certainly taste it. Cocktail sent back... We got 2 free Gin tonics in return, so we were satisfied again. Then our main courses arrived. My entrecote was nothing more than a sad and lonely piece of meat. Not even a small carrot to make it look somewhat attractive. My girlfriend's risotto was not cooked! We called the manager and he said it was al dente. Then he took a bite himself and admitted that "it could have been cooked a bit longer". We handed in our dishes and went somewhere else to eat a pizza. In short, definitely go to Hangar for a glass of wine/beer in the sun; small bites are also fine. But definitely don't go there for the kitchen and skip the "cocktails" too. You might as well buy cans of cocktail mix in the supermarket. Rarely experienced such a bad kitchen, while it was still completely fine half a year ago. The bizarre thing is that almost all the staff was not at all surprised that we sent our food AND drinks back. It was clear that we were not the first/only ones with complaints. So perhaps a tough day... Let's hope so

Reservation cancelled just like that! I received a phone call from a Hangar employee with the message that my reservation had been cancelled. This came as a great surprise to me, as I had already made the reservation a week ago. I am very disappointed with the way the reservation was cancelled at the last minute. With a double booking, one would expect to receive an upgrade, instead of a cancellation. I find this an unacceptable way of So if you book here, you are not guaranteed a table.

Food was ok-ish. Chicken from charcoal was black and not too much taste. A sauce with it would help a lot. Fries were good. Staff was trying their best and obviously working hard however too little people available both in the kitchen and the terrace.

Highly recommended! Nice food by the water. Good menu Friendly staff Great background music! And honestly... Food was perfect! Especially the prawns pil pil They were super fresh, you could taste the sea, no frozen stuff. The boneless ribs are super soft and don't have that heavy pork flavor that ribs often have.. The entrecote with cognac pepper sauce was also very tasty, the meat was soft and had a light smoky flavor. The vegetable risotto was also tasty but very rich... I was already full after the 5th bite.. Maybe I would have preferred the risotto in a smaller bowl as a side dish instead of fries or something. Because at some point the taste becomes a bit monotonous with every bite. But again, everything is great! Recommended: The P-Martini is really tasty here!

Interesting modern place; Food not up to the level required.

Went here last weekend, and had a really unbelievably bad experience. Apparently nothing is going well, because literally everyone is grumpy, from the service to the chefs. The food, really too disgusting for words. The location is so special, that it hurts to have to see how such an incapable team has to completely squander it. Such a shame that after something is designated in the city, it cannot also be adhered to democratically that quality is also delivered to the citizens of Amsterdam. Because please, if you can't run a business, make room for other talent that can't wait to realize a dream and put a smile on the faces of guests. A crying shame.

Hadn't been for a long time due to... move, but clearly different owner and/or chef. My hamburger was still very red on the inside and I was horrified by that, so I asked if it could be put back on the grill. I got it back and unfortunately it was still just as red. Overall impression was little interest in customers and therefore little service. This location must be doing very well. Comment from the staff "that's how a hamburger should be, but yes if you don't like it". Too bad because it's a great place.

Lovely place for drinks by the water. Love it

On a Thursday evening we went to the tent to enjoy an 8-course menu “By the fire”. All dishes were made on/with the BBQ. Wow, that was an evening of fully enjoying all the delicious food: from avocado, salmon, piri piri chicken, pointed cabbage to pineapple and coconut ice cream. The stove was burning, the view was great and the wines tasted delicious. What a beautiful evening!

Had dinner here with friends last night and highly recommended!!! It was chilly outside, but nice and warm inside, wonderful atmosphere and super friendly service. The food is really finger licking good. The three oysters with different topping and the fish of the day and dessert. All equally tasty and prepared and served with love. Not everyday wines, such as a white Rioja. In short, let yourself be pampered in the Hangar!

Had a delicious meal at the hangar last weekend!! They announced they had a new menu, so we went to take a look. This turned out surprisingly well. The employees did their very best to make you feel good and had everything under control!

Hangar Amsterdam-Noord; North is such a contrast to the center and we always feel at ease at the Hangar; hospitable, no-nonsense, perfect service, good quality food & drinks at a good price and parking in front of the door. A pleasure to visit in all seasons, but with nice weather just that little bit more with the water and the 'encampment' takes you into different atmospheres

What a beautiful place, perhaps the most special, unique location in Amsterdam. Interior is also amazing. The (really quick) ferry trip, if anything, makes it even more special. The ravioli was also very good, but I can't say the best I had this year, just pretty good.

A few evenings ago I came here for dinner with some friends. I had heard from family that Hangar was the place in North to have a bite to eat. On the advice of the friendly young man serving, I ordered the slow-cooked pork belly in advance, which was truly phenomenal. If I can believe my friends, the oysters, fish soup and tuna tataki were also excellent. As a main course we decided as a group to share everything. We went for the cote du boeuf, duck breast and large grilled prawns. While the cote du boeuf and duck breast were top notch, I was less pleased with the prawns. Don't get me wrong, the prawns were very tasty, but we thought 28.5 for 3 prawns with a small portion of fries was a bit excessive. Fortunately, the duck breast and cote du boeuf were well worth the money. For dessert I decided to go for the Hangar's mess, a kind of variation on the eating mess, but with a Hangar's touch. This was wonderfully sweet, exactly what you would expect from a dessert. During the evening we received excellent help from an extremely friendly young man, who was very attentive and had a lot of knowledge about the menu. All in all, I would definitely recommend Hangar and it won't be the last time I was there.

Little knowledge about allergens, dishes are prepared to such an extent that adjustments cannot be made. Fries are not prepared gluten-free. When ordering sorbet ice cream due to dairy intolerance, ice cream was still served.
