Happy Seafood in Schiphol

I used to like this place, but today I got told very rudely by the man sitting behind the desk that he is on break. Apparently he does not even know how to spell break… Everyone deserves a break, but he was not nice at all. Pity, I will find some food elsewhere where they hopefully are more friendly than this man.

A herring for €5!! assuming it would be a Dutch new herring. Unfortunately it was a pretty disgusting herring. Certainly not new! I don't think it's from Schmid from Rotterdam anymore. Ugh! Scam at Schiphol!

The name of this takeaway counter is not representative three times over. And that is about the only positive thing. Happy: your wallet and your appetite will not be happy. A dry white bun with a few pieces of steamed mackerel for €9.50 and a tiny portion of "kibbeling" (dry, tasteless, square nuggets from some fast food factory) for a shameful €11.50. You need at least 3 portions of ravigote sauce of €1.00 each to taste anything! Sea: if this comes from the sea, the ocean is in worse shape than is claimed. Food: the mini portion does not deserve that name, and even "snack" promises far too much. Let's call it an "experience", but a one-off. One that will make you crawl underground with vicarious shame in front of your foreign visitor. The positive side of this is that every visit to a fish shop or market stall will afterwards seem like a visit to heaven.

One that deeply embarrasses you vis-à-vis your foreign visitors. The upside of that (never forget there is always one) is that any visit to a Dutch fish shop or market stall after this experience, will make you feel like in heaven. If you’re passing through Schiphol and craving a taste of traditional Dutch seafood, Happy Seafood is a convenient stop. I tried their herring on a white bun, and it was fresh and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the onions and pickles. The kibbeling was crispy and satisfying, making for a delightful snack before my flight. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, which is typical for airport dining. The service was slow and not up to mark. Seating is limited, but it’s adequate for a quick bite.

Too expensive, dirty small herring, fish salads that have been lying around for far too long

Large plates of herring and cod, but they don't have it. Sold out. They don't even speak Dutch. Go grab a newspaper. Not suitable for catering.

Way too expensive and had to wait a long time for my order. Then you get a mini bowl of kibbeling for 12-13 euros which was literally disgusting. Ordering also took 10-12 minutes because no one was there. Always been a customer here. Hadn't been for a few years and then you look forward to a nice bowl of kibbeling, but this was literally too sad for words

Terrible service! First make people wait in line for 20 minutes, then casually say sorry at 7 p.m.! kitchen closed! Chaotic operation

It took some time to get the correct order and price and also the help of 2 employees to complete a simple dutch plate. Obviously new employees but still that is what made me lower the score on this review.

That was some really great fish and some really great fish! 😍🤤 Served with some Surinam music that made me want to boogie. 💃🏻 I had the loaded kibbeling with wasabi and fries.

Staff very unresponsive, slow and got the order wrong. When questioned we were robbed off twice, not to mention the high price.

3.5 stars I have passed this place dozens of times and finally decided to give it a try - and it was better than I thought it would be. I had the kibbling and chips with tartare sauce and a white wine and it was all nice. The gentleman who was serving and cooking was very pleasant (bald guy) and all in all the experience was ok. I would eat here again !

Average price & helpful staff. Suitable cafe for quick lunch while waiting for check in. Staff allowed us to eat our own foods, as long as you bought their foods too.

Bought herring yesterday, most likely not fresh but from the day before! Within an hour had a running tummy, spent hours on the toilet!

Came here many times for its herring but I don't have the photo show. This time I tried the fish and fries. The fish was big and flavorful but a bit pricey. I would come here again just for herring. Some of the staff here are friendly.

Considering Schiphol is a unique place where tourists get their first impression of the Netherlands, this fish is absolutely unacceptable. The kibbeling was not spiced at all, both the fish and potatoes tasted bland (how can you ruin chips?! It's literally potatoes), it's expensive, and it took pretty long to prepare despite there being only 5 customers. The small cup of sauce (for a €1 surcharge) is not enough for your small portion of kibbeling. We bought frozen kibbeling from Albert Heijn and it had more taste than this one. Tourist friends and all those who tried the fish for the first time here, please give us a second chance and go somewhere (literally anywhere) else to try the fish. I promise this is NOT how it's supposed to be. Actual authentic Dutch kibbeling is properly spiced, cheaper, a bigger portion (no need for chips to fill up), TASTIER, and should come with free ravigote sauce. As for atmosphere - well it's on an airport, of course it's not much. I'll give them that.

Even though this restaurant is supposed to accept airline vouchers, I was denied by the cashier. Then the food which was on display and I wanted to order was "not available" at the moment, even though I could point to it. Such an awful place, would never recommend this to anyone.

Refried in an oil that must be a month old. The attention is dry and unpleasant. Don't spend money here, for the same amount there are many better options.

Lady serving me got my order wrong then got annoyed that I tried to speak Dutch. Short tempered and curt with customers before me too. Attitude towards customers awful, food mediocre. You’d rather stay hungry than eat here, trust me.

Herring is very delicious. This is the only place you can eat at the airport.

The sushi rice is not properly cooked.

Between two trips, I found here something to eat on the go (kibbelings accompanied by homemade fries, all very tasty), with fast service and, what's more, smiling and friendly. As I also ordered a small bottle (25 cl) of delicious Sicilian white wine, I am very satisfied with this place, unfortunately not very visible in the airport.

They should be ashamed of themselves here. For 12 euros you get a measly little bowl of truly the worst seafood in the Netherlands, this seafood was definitely not happy. If you ask for such an idiotic amount of money, at least prepare it properly. There are only better alternatives in the Plaza

Used to be very good but back again today and they forgot my order while my husband already had his food. The bickering was downright tasteless. I don't think the waiter knew what he was doing. No apologies or anything like that. You pay €25 for 2 bowls of kibbeling!

Best place for a quick snack around. Fresh food, fast service. Just delicious!

Zeer langzame en slechte service door totaal niet geinteresseerd personeel. Koude kibbeling, halve order en grote mond voor een hele dure prijs. Nooit meer!

The herring sandwich or broodje is delicious. Place saved in favorites. Van harte gefeliciteerd!

Most of the overpriced food was tasty, but for such a small bowl you pay more than 11 euros (individual kibbeling without sauce), and you had to pay extra for that mini bowl of sauce, which was not enough for that portion. I lost more than 11 euros in total even though I already have a discount. It's almost my hourly wage 😭

Best to avoid! Food was unremarkable but not cheap and to describe the service/ staff attitude, I can only tell when I asked how long it is going to take for the burger after waiting for a while, the lady said - I don't know he must be making it!

Even though they are empty, they work very slowly. They took the order and discussed it among themselves for a long time, I asked what the problem was, and they did not give an answer. They delivered the order with a face like vinegar. It has nothing to do with the kibbelings in Amsterdam.

70 eur for four small pieces of fast-food which took around 40 min to arrive, and then when asking for bread, first they charged me and then told me it is not ready and takes 5 min to prepare but after 10 min when I asked what happened they just started preparing. Bad service, mediocre food.

Geland en zin in wat te eten. Om 15:22 de order betaald de dame zei tegen dat een paar minuten ging duren. Ik moest de trein van 15:35 halen dus dat moest wel lukken. Niet dus. Naar de trein, 15 euro armer en nog steeds trek

I had to tell you 10 times what I wanted. Person behind the counter said it is new. My tip, repeat what a person says to avoid confusion. This way I don't have to repeat myself dozens of times. Mussels have been in the fryer for a long time. Looked like bubble nuts. Very sorry... I thought the price was quite steep so I asked. This is without fries, right? 'I think so...' was the answer I got. Deeply disappointing. Don't come back again.

Kimbling overcooked, barely any batter and skimped on wasabi sauce.

Price performance for an airport snack bar was very ok, fish & chips was very good, exactly as you imagined! And there was also a greeting from the kitchen (matjes) 😊🤩

We hadden trek in lekkere visgerechten en kwamen terecht bij Happy Seafood. We kozen voor fish en chips, en dat smaakte prima.

If you feel like waiting a long time for a small portion of much, much overpriced fish and fries then you should definitely go here. The owners must be misers if they think that such small portions are enough for people traveling. You know you're paying top dollar at an airport, but you want it to be enough. Not four pieces of fish with some fries for 15 euros. And a student who takes fifteen minutes. I don't like writing bad reviews, but here I think: just go bankrupt, that's better for everyone.

Attention, food poisoning! I ate here before a flight and had the worst food poisoning of my life, so I can only STRONGLY advise everyone not to eat at this place! In addition, it took an extremely long time, the waiters just talked and completely ignored me when I wanted to ask something at the checkout! Unfortunately, my worst experience eating at the airport. I will also avoid eating fish in such places in future. Take care of yourselves <3

Slechte slappe friet, 6 stukjes kibbeling te hard door gebakken. En dat voor 14€. Onfrisse tafeltjes en chagrijnige bediening. Een doffe teleurstelling en de prijs absoluut niet waard. Snel vergeten die tent

Smakeloze goedkope Polak kibbeling voor de absolute hoofdprijs. Heeft weinig met kibbeling te maken, meer een soort fabrieks kipnuggets maar dan met slechte vis. Drankjes wel goed koud. Niemand achter de balie die een woord Nederlands spreekt ook maar dat schijnt normaal te zijn tegenwoordig. 2/10 afrader.

Staff get in each other's way, do not recognize their own ravigotte sauce, gourmand is not cod with a plastic layer, so it is too expensive. Fries good. Well-fed mice abound on the floor on the radiator behind the panels

Really, 1 star is even too much. Ordered a bowl of kibbeling. There is only 4 kibbeling in it. It took a very long time and on top of that it was impossible to eat and that dark woman behind the counter, well, well, what a service.

I have been selling for many years fish and chips and this is the most dry boring kibbeling I have ever had. The hearing is abit odd too. But I like the royal amount of pickels and union.

Delicious sandwich!!! Fresh Herring with onions - a Dutch staple. Fresh and great. The bun is awesome too.

The food was so salty, I ate it just because it cost me so much. Aside of that It wasn't that bad, but definitely not worth the price.

Inmiddels weer goede haring gehad hier. Enige tijd terug had ik pech, hij smaakte niet. Voorheen was de haring hier altijd erg goed. Tip: jullie hebben haring in de vitrine, ik begreep als showmodellen. Deze liggen er echter niet al te smakelijk bij.

SUMMARY The service was good however the food was just so-so, primarily the bread was a bit dry. I suggest you try scampi or something similar. Overall it is a good value meal for about €10. SERVICE The staff was polite and asked hhe right questions. Good. FOOD QUALITY The fish / protein of my burger was good, the potato wedges were good as well, however the burger bun was too dry.

スキポール空港でハーリング食べたいならここ！空港価格だけど致し方なし。 お店は“Iamsterdam”のモニュメントにほど近いArrivals1(制限区域外)のホール出入口の側にあります。 なお、個人的にはハーリングはサンドにしてカットオニオンとピクルスをトッピングして食べるのが好きです。

Microwaved, not really tasty...just ordinary airport food

일단 접근성이 좋고 장소도 넓어 편안한 분위기. 음식은 인스턴트 식품으로 만든 것 같은 느낌.

Had twee haring die goed waren, de kibbeling was echter doorbakken tot het droge toe. De ravigot saus was ook droog, wat bijzonder is voor saus. Ook de hoofdprijs voor het eten betaald.

Super lekkere kibbeling hebben ze! Het is echt een hap vis en NIET een hap pap doordrenkt in vet. Zeker een aanrader!!
