The food is certainly good, but the delivery takes a very long time every time. The wait is at least an hour.

Ordered via Uber at 6:30 PM, original ETA between 7:10 PM and 7:30 PM. I understand if it takes longer due to the snow, but my order never arrived, and the restaurant was unavailable by phone all evening. Hayai had marked the order as "In transit" around 8 PM, but I haven't heard anything since. The delivery took so long that at 9:45 PM the order was marked as "Completed" (by the restaurant or Uber?), leaving me literally empty-handed and with an empty wallet... And still NO ONE answers the phone!!! Edit: The delivery person finally showed up, 20 minutes after this review went live. But even an "sorry" was barely manageable.

I placed an order at 6:56 PM, it's now 8:15 PM, I haven't received my order yet, and no one is answering the phone. I don't know if my order will arrive.

Horrible experience!!! I'm from Belgium and I'm staying at a hotel here in Rotterdam for New Year's. We wanted to order food at 7 p.m. because that would be faster than ordering in person. We ordered at 7 p.m. and the order was supposed to arrive at 8:30 p.m. At 9:15 p.m., still nothing, so I called the restaurant. They told me the delivery driver was on his way and would be there in 5 minutes. I then waited another 20 minutes outside and still nothing. I tried to call the restaurant again, but they didn't answer. After calling 20 times, I decided to go there and see what happened. When I arrived, they were told they closed at 9:45 p.m.? Even though their website says they should close at 10 p.m.? In the end, I never received my order, and they claimed to have delivered it on Takeaway. A truly awful experience. Unprofessional. Terrible. When I contacted the restaurant the next day to explain the problem, I wasn't taken seriously, and the manager claimed I was "stupid" and that it wasn't their problem at all. The manager was incredibly rude on the phone and yelled at me. Unbelievable! I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant!!!

The order never arrived, more than an hour later than the expected delivery time. The company doesn't answer the phone either and just pushes you away. Eventually, I managed to get a refund through Thuisbezorgd. Never again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Ordered for delivery at 1:00 PM, called at 1:20 PM, yes, sorry, a bit late, the delivery driver is coming. Now, 1:50 PM, still no delivery driver, and the phone is suddenly not answered. I hope the food is fantastic because the service is terrible!

After over an hour, the order arrived, and several items were missing. I called immediately, and an hour later, they delivered the missing items. Unfortunately, it was the wrong one, and it was completely cold. I called again, but the response was extremely unfriendly, and unfortunately, they didn't offer any assistance with a solution. My advice: don't order from here.

I've ordered from Hayai several times, and this time I received this. It was supposed to be a deep-fried salon roll, but it tasted stale and the salmon was gray. When I called and sent them a picture, they said it was supposed to be like this. After ordering at least 5 or 6 times, it arrived like this for the first time, so how is this the standard? The service was absolutely terrible, never again!!!! And the rest of the order was absolutely awful, truly disappointing, for over €70.

I placed an order at Hayai Sushi Delft at 5:22 PM for delivery at 6:45 PM. At 7:10 PM, I called them to ask where my order was. The person on the phone said (as is always the case here) that the delivery driver was on his way, so I assumed it wouldn't take longer than 10 minutes. At 7:45 PM, I still hadn't received my order, so I called Hayai Delft again. He said the delivery driver was still on his way, so I suggested I call the police because something must have happened to the driver. "No," the receptionist said, "he's gone with 10 orders!!!" How can you deliver fresh fish with 10 orders at once? How do you get food poisoning? Well, that's how it is. Finally, at 7:59 PM, the doorbell rang with my order. I'd like a refund, and I advise everyone never to order from here. Owner Mohamed Karim also sent a message, but he doesn't care because his pockets are already full.

Delicious sushi, tasty food and a wide range of different flavours

Drama, previous reviews are familiar. Long wait, standard response to a call, and the taste wasn't great.

Never order from here again! Food delivered two hours later than requested. Unreachable by phone and if you do get hold of them, the standard answer is "the delivery person is on his way, will only take another 15 minutes" and then you have to wait another half hour. Had to throw away half of the sushi because it was tuna that had been prepared at least two hours earlier and was therefore spoiled by the time it reached your table. If you deliver later, make sure you prepare it later and transport it refrigerated. This is just asking for a claim for food poisoning.

Delivery always takes an hour, and the customer service is rude!

Unfortunately, The cashier was unfriendly and not cooperative, the sushi was not tasty, the rice was hard and the taste was nil, it was filled with (chicken) instead of shrimp, Unfortunately I will not come back, the taste is bad.

Came much late. For the umpteenth time. Then you call and you are told that they are on their way (yes on their way for more than an hour, that's great)

Ordered, after an hour I called again to see how the order was going. Of course they were on their way (I know from previous orders that they often said that, even though it usually turned out to be incorrect afterwards). Now after almost 2 hours we assume it won't happen again. Calling doesn't work anymore because they are now closed. I wonder if we will get the costs back. Tip: just let us know if it takes longer or if you have made a mistake. That's so much nicer. Edit: finally got it at 11:01 PM. Sushi itself is made with care.

Good sushi, best price to tasted and amount ratio around, that already kept me coming back. Today, however, there was a mistake made with my order, so I called. They forwarded us once, heard out the problem and resolved it in the most satisfactory way possible - all super fast and convenient.

Delivery took 2 hours and then the wrong order was delivered. No more contact possible, on the phone I am pushed away / no answer.

Whenever I feel like having sushi I always order from Hayai! Delivery is always neat and relatively fast. And also important: tasty and complete.

Always tasty :) sometimes orders take a bit long but you get good deals and plenty of sushi.

Excellent price-quality ratio. I order from here often and it's always good. On busy/weekend days you will notice that the hot food has sometimes already cooled down a bit, but that is logical if the delivery people have multiple orders

Ordered online but never received anything

The food is acceptable (although lukewarm), except that it stood on the counter for an hour and a half until I went to pick it up myself because I had to go somewhere. Ordered via Uber at 5:15 PM for 7-1930, called at 7:45 PM, told that it was already ready and was only waiting for a delivery person, at 8:15 PM exactly the same story, then I got it at 8:30 PM but collected yourself. What a shitty service, just tell me straight away that it would be better to pick it up yourself rather than wait, I live a 4-minute bike ride away (I didn't know that at first and you don't get a discount through Uber when you pick it up). I wouldn't order here in the evening, only pick up if you really have to.

I recently ordered sushi here for the first time via UberEats and it was unfortunately a very disappointing experience. I ordered a Uramaki mix. Upon receipt I noticed that the Uramaki mix was incomplete. I decided to call the restaurant to resolve this, but the man on the phone was very rude and abruptly hung up the call. Furthermore, the sushi had a strong fishy flavour. The combination of an incomplete order and poor customer service has ensured that I will never order from here again.

Ridiculous service. I also delivered in the past myself, so I can totally imagine that it can be busy and too late, but now I ordered in the morning before 12:30 and called at 1:15 PM. Received a blunt response that it was on its way and nothing else. No apologies or anything. Been waiting for an hour now. Ridiculous service. But from the looks of it, not the first and not the last.

I loveeee hayai sushii order here almost every month and it's always great, even if you put something in the description, they do everything they can to complete your order <3 always delivered quickly and super tasty and freshly prepared!

Ordered online at 5:50 PM via their website and was delivered 2 hours later. It was a Saturday evening so I can imagine it being a bit busier, but taking 2 hours to place an order is really far too long. In addition, the biggest problem I found was that this business is completely inaccessible by telephone. This is really not okay. The sushi tasted mediocre & the snacks were cold. I will not order from here again and I would recommend not to do so. Unfortunately.

Ordered sushi via Hayai's own website but forgot to click on a free roll. By calling, we were able to correct the error immediately and be able to collect the rightful roll within five minutes. Great service!

FYI they transport their waste (garbage bags) in the same bin on the scooter as your food!

I've come by before to pick up sushi and the order is usually ready within fifteen minutes. Today we opted for home delivery via their website. Sushi was fine, but the food was only delivered after an hour. (I ordered at 4:40 PM and it arrived at 5:42 PM) For the rest, nothing to complain about, but I would still pick it up again next time. Normally always satisfied here :)

I wouldn't order from this place if they were the last food option on the planet. They hung up on me twice after I called them out for lying about my delivery. The gyoza was ice cold when it arrived (more than an hour after it was supposed to have arrived) and the sushi was horrible. They claimed they were super busy. News flash, it's Friday night, of course it's busy. That doesn't mean your food and service will be awful. Such a terrible business/restaurant. I plan on complaining to the Gemeente. They should close this place down for good.

How can a restaurant be SO bad and not be shut down? Waited 90+ minutes and when food finally arrived, the dish that should have been cold was warm and the food that should have been warm was cold.

I ordered some sushi for my mom and me, but it ended up as a huge disappointment. The delivery was very late (waited more than 1,5 hours) and they didn't listen to my messages to take my moms dietary needs into account and package the gluten-free sushi and sushi with gluten separately, thus my mom was unable to eat the food and had to make a sandwich after all. Besides that, the sushi tasted quite bland and not fresh. I will never order here again

Please don't order here! Waiting more than 1.5 hours. Didn't answer the phone 5 times, then did so the 6th time with the excuse that the manager was late. I want to cancel. This is possible within 3 working days before the money is refunded. Called back after 5 minutes: we're not going to cancel it anyway, so you're out of luck. NEVER AGAIN

The food took 4 hours to arrive because they were busy! I called every 30 minutes and everytime “the food was on its way”. Food was good but obviously very cold! and we didn’t get a compensation for it!! so awful experience!!

Ordered many times now and it was actually delicious every time. An extensive palette of delicious sushi. We always thought it was great, but something has changed. I placed a large order around Christmas and the sushi just didn't seem fresh and was cold instead of lukewarm. Really different than usual. We all liked it a lot less. I emailed my complaint, after weeks of no response I emailed again and unfortunately again I heard nothing from Hayai Sushi Delft. This is very unfortunate! So we don't order here anymore.

Never eaten but what nasty delivery people. A man confronts a delivery man because he throws trash on the street. Then two delivery people challenge the man and curse at him. In any case, I will never order food here.

Sushis themselves are reasonable. I was shocked that people were concerned about noisy, smelly mopeds. And this in this time of increasing awareness about the environment. There are plenty of good alternatives. Our meal in a bag above the smelly exhaust. Reason not to order here anymore.

Really in shock how the food arrived. completely stuck together you could no longer call it sushi. crispy mayo sushi half filled The fish tasted old and the beans were cold and broken in a bag. De meeste slechte reviews zijn van van een tijdje terug. Tijd voor nieuwe eerlijke review: Wij bestellen hier echt vaak. Super lekker en verse sushi. En geloof me, wij zijn echt sushi kenners. De gratis rol goed aangeven bij opmerkingen dan is er niks aan de hand.

Bestelling geplaatst en na een uur nog steeds niet bezorgt, geprobeerd de zaak te bellen om te vragen waar onzr bestelling blijft is de telefoonlijn bezet. Bestelling na 1.5 uur aangekomen en was het wachten niet waard helaas. Slechte zaak ik ga hier niet meer bestellen!

Beste Sushi van Delft ik koop mijn sushi’s altijd bij Hayai sushi. De sushi’s zijn erg vers en perfect op smaak en de bezorgers zijn erg vriendelijk. Aanrader !!

Although the order was delivered on time, the sushi itself wasn't good. The rice was all clumped up and had a strange taste to it, the soy sauce and wasabi they provide also has a strange sour taste to them.

I always used to order Poke Bowl and it was always very good so I thought “hm let’s order some sushi it must be also nice”. Well well, how wrong I was. Extremely tasteless, old sushi rice. I suspect that they literally buy the Albert Heijn sushi and just sell it, because it tastes THE SAME. 2 stars only for the poke bowl.

Ik bestel echt vaak, ben keer op keer tevreden! Vandaag ook weer! Ben enorm tevreden en de anderen waar ik mee was, waren dit ook! We vonden het heerlijk. De actie van de gratis rollen is ook een enorme bonus. De hoeveelheid en dan in vergelijking met prijs enzovoort, vind ik echt super. Het was in een prima tijd, snel bezorgt! Het personeel is bij mij al voor 2de keer heel meegaand. Ik maakte een beide keren een foutje en is prima opgelost! Echt waarde voor me geld. Fijne bezorger ook, heel vriendelijk. Ik zeg dit moet je echt proberen!

Hayai Delft betere Sushi heb je gewoon niet, altijd vriendelijk, Sushi gewoon top!

Vaste plek waar we sushi bestellen, altijd dezelfde kwaliteit en erg lekker! 1x meegemaakt dat ik wel uurtje moest wachten op het eten maar het was rond etenstijd dus dan snap ik dat zeker. Voor de rest is het altijd top en bezorging ook prima!

Hayai betekent snel/vlug in het japans. Als ik echter de comments lees zijn de bezorgingen langzaam. Dan klopt er iets niet. Ik laat deze gaan.

Ik bestel hier vaak, en over het algemeen ben ik heel tevreden! Als je via hun eigen website besteld staan er een hoop aanbiedingen zoals bijv gratis rolls bij 15euro of meer. De sushi is lekker en niet al te prijzig.

Ik raad aan om te kiezen voor ophalen of pinnen voor +€0,30 Wisselgeld was niet genoeg, maakt niet uit wat je kiest op de website. Lijkt niet super eerlijk.

Goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Goede hoeveelheid vis. Rijst helaas iets te dens en qua azijn net niet helemaal.

Good food, but they don't accept debit card, just cash

Twee keer sushi besteld. Prima. Grote ronde schaal. De sushi zit een beetje tegen elkaar aan geplakt als er geen nori omheen zit, zoals California rolls. Bij elke besteding van 15,- kun je een gratis rol naar keuze krijgen. Dat moet je wel ff weten, want het staat niet aangegeven in de bestelopties op de website. Je moet dat in het opmerkingen-veld zelf invoeren. Al met al: prima sushi. Warme bijgerechten waren ook netjes op temperatuur. Smaak is goed.

Ordered vegetarian and vegan sushis and they were all very good. Totally recommend!
