We spontaneously decided to grab a bite and popped in. If there's still a free spot, you just sit down and chat with strangers. The service is wonderfully down-to-earth and friendly. The food was truly exceptional! And the prices are reasonable. I'll definitely be back!

Favorite restaurant in the Netherlands! It has such a cute atmosphere and the restaurant owner is such a gem. You will feel like you are at grandmas and you will taste the care put in the food.

This is a cosy little restaurant that serves traditional Dutch dishes. The service is informal and very friendly. We booked in advance on the phone and they accommodated us as a group of ten.

Great tiny family run place with traditional Dutch fare. We had schnitzel and the 'daily plate' of pork in mushroom sauce. The desserts were super: a warm banana in rum sauce, warmed apricots in rum, and strawberries with delicious ice cream.

Authentic Rotterdam coziness! Where my father makes a superb stew, tastier than my own grandmother's. And where my mother and daughter dedicate themselves to entertaining customers with a lively chat. Farm boys and girls complete the experience. Where else can you find this?

Went here for dinner with 4 people in total. My girlfriend was pregnant and got a unique collector's item bib as a gift. A lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Living room feeling. A family atmosphere reigns in this friendly little restaurant in the Delfshaven district. I was able to eat a stampot from the menu even though I'd been looking for one for several days. The staff is very friendly.

Eating at Martin and Bea really feels like coming home! I really don't understand why Rotterdam isn't chock full of living room restaurants with typical Dutch pot. If you really want Dutch food such as stew, stew, pork chop, chicory, then this is THE PLACE TO BE! I've been coming there for years and the food is delicious, Bea and Martin are very hospitable and you get an evening-filling program of real Rotterdam humor, as if you were entering a standup comedian show and didn't even buy a ticket. Not that anyone will care about that in this Eethuisje. Immerse yourself in a real Dutch dinner evening packed with Rotterdammers and a lost tourist, highly recommended! Oh yes, if you can't choose, Bea will immediately offer you a “tourist menu”. The very best choice because you get a combination of the 2 daily snacks and have something of everything!

We regularly eat at Martin and Bea's. The atmosphere is really great and the food is super tasty Dutch food. It is not without reason that many international tourists come here to experience Dutch cuisine and Rotterdam cosiness. If you say “That looks nice!” is Bea's standard answer “You'll just have to wait and see!” In flat Rotterdam and with a broad smile. A pearl in Delfshaven.

Honestly A TRUE GEM, maybe the best authentic nutritious YUMMIEST food you can get that in Rotterdam that will actually feed your soul. Home cooking at it's finest. So tasty and place is comfortably gezellig, down to earth and chill. Host is a funny lovely sweet and hard working lady. I so recommend this, and especially if you have never been impressed by Dutch food yet!!!

Fantástica comida tradicional! Restaurante local con señoras tan amables que demuestran recomendaciones de los mejores platos. Tenía el schnitzel. A grandes trozos jugosos con salami y patatas. No pude terminar todo para poder ahorrar espacio para las pasas calientes y albaricoques con helado y crema batida. Como su abuela solía hacer y es la piedra angular de una comida maravillosa. Si estás en Rotterdam, debes venir para una comida agradable bien hecha.

What can I say, I looked for weeks for a genuine Dutch restaurant and thanks to my hostel host I found this one! I honestly have no idea why traditional Dutch food is not more prevalent because what I had was so freaking delicious! I ate Stammpot with a good sized and well seasoned hamburg steak on top and it was honestly the best meal I had in The Netherlands by far. Not only that but if you take a window seat then you're eating with a fabulous view of the city streets and a bit of the canal. To top it all off I had very gracious hosts who checked up on me and were very happy to give me seconds (that's right I ate another whole plate of the Stammpot!) The only dissatisfaction that I found was that I found this restaurant on the last day of my trip and I couldn't get to try any other dishes. If I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely hitting this place up!

Comida increíble en este restaurante. Llegaron con su marido y su hija, las señoras que trabajan allí son cálidas y acogedoras para todos, serviciales y capaces de sugerir buenas opciones. Teníamos sellos y fogones, mi hija que tiene 9 años se quedó con una buena porción de sello. No hay fotos como lo devoramos todo. El ambiente aquí es tan cálido y charlamos con algunos de los otros clientes y se sentía como si estuvieras con la familia y no en un restaurante. Posiblemente el mejor lugar en el que hemos estado en Rotterdam para cenar. Estuvo abierto de 4 a 9 pm (no el sábado) y todas las opciones de menú están en pizarras y algunas cambian diariamente. Parece ser una institución local.

Brilliant traditional Dutch restaurant, unfortunately one of the very few not just in Rotterdam, but the Netherlands, that are still surviving. Incredible food, fantastic service, and so much value for money you’ll be ashamed to pay the amount on the bill! Go there before it disappears and all you’re left with are chain restaurants!

Delightful local Dutch food in Delfshaven. As an American, I really wanted to try authentic Dutch food but was having difficulties finding it in Rotterdam. I was excited to find this recommendation on TripAdvisor. The menu specials rotate daily. Got the beef stew and the stamppot/sausage special and enjoyed both. It was clear from the owners that Dutch culture and community are thriving here. Don’t miss it when you visit Rotterdam.

Really brilliant way to experience Dutch food. The food is a little basic, which only enhances the vibe that this is your Dutch grandma's living room and you just came hungry from school. The waitress also reminded me of my grandma, she very kindly explained the menu and helped us choose. If you have only one dinner in Rotterdam, this is the place to go. I recommend sitting at the window, the view is beautiful.

I actually picked it up regularly when we still lived in Rotterdam. The kale stew was really tasty and I would drive almost 40 km to get it again when it was back on the menu!!

We can only agree with the other reviewers. It's like coming "home" to grandma. The tiny restaurant is run with so much heart and love that you can hardly put it into words. You can feel the love in every dish. And as befits home, you are immediately involved in all conversations. We'd love to come back next time.

Tatsächlich servierte "Echte holländische Hausmannskost" beschreibt die kleine Butze – in der die Zeit seit den 1980er Jahren im Gastraum stehen geblieben scheint – ebenso treffend wie unzureichend. Ein herzlich warmer Empfang begrüßt alle Gäste gleich beim Betreten, Platz findet sich anschließend zwischen wohl regelmäßig vorbeischauenden Nachbarn und internationalen Besuchern. Wir fanden uns zwischen Holländerinnen, Australiern und einer britischen Familie wieder, die sogleich ihre persönlichen Empfehlungen mit uns teilten – bevor überhaupt ein Blick auf die Kreidetafeln an der Wand, die dort eine übliche Speisekarte ersetzen, geworfen werden konnte. Was uns an kleine Bistrots in Paris oder griechische Insel-Tavernen erinnerte, die man erstmals als Fremder besucht und als gefühltes Familienmitglied nach dem Verlassen für immer ins Herz schließt. Geboten wird dort tatsächlich eine herrlich unprätentiöse Küche – wie früher bei Muttern oder der Oma. Mit lokalen Ingredienzen, bestens gewürzt und auf den Punkt zubereitet. Dazu gibt’s einfache Weine aus ungarischen Kaffeegläsern, viel wissenswertes Lokalkolorit zum weiteren Besuch von Rotterdam, und das gute Gefühl zu wissen einen kommenden Abend dann unter Freunden zu genießen. P.S.: Zum Dessert unbedingt nachfragen, was gerade in großen Weckgläsern hinter der alten Theke zur Vollendung mit Eis und Sahne wartet!

We always visit 't Eethuisje when we're in Delfshaven, visiting the Dutch Pinball Museum. The food is always good and hearty, and you'll get a warm welcome from mine hostess! The menu is ever-changing, but there's always a fish dish and a meat dish. Portions are generous and the prices are reasonable for the area. All in all, a lovely unpretentious little gem that's well woth a visit. Note that it's closed on Saturdays!

Authentic Dutch fare (according to restaurant staff, we went with the recommendation), considering we don’t get much of that in the Netherlands in general, mostly international cuisine. Would recommend if you are dropping by Rotterdam for a day or two. Price wise not the most affordable given that the food was quite simple, the prices didn’t make that much sense.

Posticino molto carino, personale gentilissimo (soprattutto la Signora ). Carne e pesce ottimi, ben cotti e du qualità con dei contorni freschi e variegati ( funghi, verdure, patate) Anche il dessert è semplice ma di qualità. Noi abbiamo preso fragole con panna e gelato. Costi modici , soprattutto rispetto alla media di Rotterdam. Straconsigliato

La comida tradicional holandesa era muy deliciosa y fue superado solo por el anfitrión muy amable y acogedor. Se lo recomiendo a cualquiera que esté en para una buena comida y una charla aún mejor con los propietarios.

The price-performance ratio is not right here. The portions are far too small for the price, around 20 to 26 euros. And there are very fatty foods for that. So greasy that you can hardly eat it. In addition, very greasy fries, some made from leftover pieces and a mayo bottle from the metro as well as a careless salt shaker from the discount store. The side salad has virtually no dressing. The service was friendly. There is no food or drinks menu. It may be that many people consider this food to be authentic and delicious. Not me. The many positive reviews are incomprehensible to me.

It's difficult to find traditional Dutch food in Rotterdam, the food scene is generally quite international. But we are so glad we've found this gem, a real Dutch restaurant where the locals go. The food is freshly homemade and absolutely delicious. We ordered the beef stew and fried cod, both are really good. The owner is so lovely and friendly too, she even translated the menu in English for us😄 We would definitely come again when we are next in Rotterdam.

Dit is een heel klein knus eetcafé, je zit praktisch in iemands woonkamer. Je kan binnen en buiten eten. Het zijn flinke borden vol lekker eten voor een goede prijs. Zeker een aanrader!

Je komt niet voor de sfeer naar het Eethuisje, of je moet op oud hollandsch / bruin cafe vallen. Je komt voor degelijke kost! In mijn geval afhaal Het was een soort sentimental journey. Ergens 1988 heb ik mijn eerste appartement op de Schiedamseweg weg gekocht, in dat voor historische pand. Destijds 79k gulden, wil je dat geloven? Inmiddels is het een paar ton in euros. Daarna vele keren verhuisd, inmiddels woonachtig achter Centraal Station. Destijds kwamen wij regelmatig bij het Eethuisje eten! Begreep van de huidige eigenaresse dat zij het 27 jaar doet. Denk dat zij destijds (als jonge meid) voor de vorige eigenaren werkte. Ik wilde een stamppot. Neem altijd mijn eigen bakjes mee. Géén probleem! Echt lekker gegeten. Ga er vaker naartoe .

Hier kwam ik als Rotterdamse student al in de jaren 90 regelmatig eten. En nu 30 jaar later nog woonachtig in Rotterdam. Je schoof gewoon bij elkaar aan. Je at wat de pot schaft. Schappelijke prijzen. En idd van arbeider tot directeur. Wethouder artsen agenten enz. Iedereen werd gelijk behandeld. Het was altijd je en jij (op een gegeven moment kende iedereen elkaar bij naam). En kwam je regelmatig dan werd je herkend en was er tijd voor een praatje pot. En moest iemand er langs dan werd je gewoon opzij geduwd. Gewoon een goede kok en zijn vrouw in de bediening. Bea & Martin wat een fantastisch team.
