We celebrated a super fun birthday party with my son in the cellar bar! Everything was arranged perfectly. Highly recommended!!

Terrible experience. The bouncers are incredibly rude and downright violent with little to no reason for it. I saw girls behind the counter taking advantage of intoxicated guys by making them pay double or triple for hanging up their coats, their beer, etc. Apparently, nothing comes for free when you work in a club full of drunk young people…

This place was recommended to one of my friends as a nice place to go for a fun night in Zwolle. We went there on a Saturday before Easter Sunday and while waiting at the door for the person before us to show his ID, a group of girls celebrating a bachelorette party walked passed us and entered the bar (I guess they were already inside so easier to get back in). After they entered, the security guard asked to see our ID’s and student cards. I told him I wasn’t a student and he said we couldn’t get in, I asked him if the girls who just went in were students he shrugged. His colleague feeling guilty and more friendly, tells us to go to the other bar a few doors back. On my way back home, I asked a group of people if this bar is a student bar that only allows students, and they told me a lot of students usually go there but other people can go as well. I went back home wondering if the security guard didn’t let me in because of the color of my skin or because it really just was for students.

The bodyguards seem to accept and reject people based on their student status and their color. Very interesting…

My work regularly organizes drinks at Het Vliegende Paard, and it's always perfectly organized. The service is fast and friendly. We agree on the number of drinks beforehand, and we receive that amount in tokens. Highly recommended for groups.

We had a fantastic evening! Everything was well-organized, and they checked in regularly to make sure everything was to our liking. The food was delicious and plentiful. You were free to do as you pleased, and if there was anything, the communication was excellent! Thanks so much, and we'll definitely be back!

We've now celebrated our staff party at Het Vliegende Paard for the umpteenth time, and it's always a hit. It's simply a wonderful place. The snacks and appetizers are delicious and of good quality, and the space is perfect for our group. The atmosphere was fantastic: a fun evening with a great DJ and lots of fun. We also regularly rent the meeting room upstairs, and we're very satisfied with it as well. The number of seats, the projector, and the bar in the back are perfect for our setup. In short: highly recommended for both staff parties and meetings. We'll definitely be back!

We rented a venue for about 50 people for a private party. Saturday night was no problem. Excellent service and helpful staff. We were able to set our own music with our DJ. Our guests could leave their coats in the secure cloakroom, which was very convenient!

We had planned a reunion with former colleagues in the back bar. The space was cozy and not too large. There were tables and chairs and plenty of standing room. They regularly asked what we wanted to drink, and we had a nice arrangement to finish with snacks. They politely came just before the end to announce it was time for the last round and took our drink orders one last time. All in all, it was a successful evening that we'll definitely be back.

We celebrated our party here with a group of 60 people. Everything was well-organized. The food was good and plentiful. We were seated in the upstairs room, which was cozy, and the ability to create our own music playlist was also great. Definitely recommended for a large party.

Last Saturday, as a group of friends, we used the Heerenkamer for our own pub quiz. We had reserved the room in advance. For us, this was the perfect location given the atmosphere, no extra costs, the available facilities, and the helpful staff with good service. Highly recommended 👍🏻

The last time I came here was 8 years ago, back in my student days. Now I have been here to organize a company party for 40 people. Everything was arranged perfectly; the communication with Christian in this case was good, and we looked together at what best suited this group. We decided to have a burger buffet and unlimited drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks). The burgers were delicious, and this way everyone could decide for themselves what toppings they wanted. Nothing was made a fuss about anything, and the bartender was also super nice and helpful. All in all, we had a great party, which was also super affordable. The venue was nicely decorated with disco lights and its own bar. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something for a group of this size. If you have a smaller group, they also have smaller rooms available.

I used to go there often, but it's changed a lot since then. It's incredibly crowded since they let everyone in, with tons of (too) young people, lines stretching out the door, everyone crammed together because there's not enough space. I can't even go in to pick up a coat anymore; I have to wait outside for an hour. It's ridiculous. The atmosphere really isn't the same as it used to be. I wouldn't recommend it for a night out.

Terribly serviced during a bachelorette party. Pushed into a corner near the kitchen serving area. Played a quiz, but you can't hear anything half the time, and the staff wouldn't turn off the music either.

From work we had dinner with a large group of (inter)national students for a conference and a party evening at the Flying Horse. This was very successful. They are very flexible and think along for a large group. Definitely recommended.

Was here last month, our server was Sarah very lovely. Bit disappointed there wasn’t a card with the sodas she took the time to explain it but as a foreigner it’s kinda hard to understand. And also bit confusing it didn’t say on the card when the cocktails get cheaper on Thursday. But overall the food and the service was amazing

As indicated on the internet, you can hand in carnival coins here. It says open at 4:00 PM. Was there around 4:30 pm. Well not... you'll just be sent away again because they don't have time, I can come back another time. It was very quiet and there was hardly anyone there. A small effort... or not that you can hand it in to you. I think you are obliged to take them. Café de pul against top players and what lovely people and can simply hand in the coins there.

Het Vliegende Paard has been a leading catering establishment in the Voorstraat for years. Unfortunately, this has also changed in recent years from a fairly social commitment to a commercial management, which has not benefited the atmosphere. Excellent staff with loving contact with regular guests and visiting guests, and the older "anything is possible" atmosphere is certainly still present. Still the best pub on the Voorstraat, but no longer the peak of Zwolle.

It was a nice atmosphere, on the recommendation of the clerk I got an IPA which was very tasty.

On Wednesday evening, some fellow students and I went for a drink in the Paard. When ordering coke(!) we were asked for our ID. Apparently you have to be 18 to order a Coke. According to the employee, this was stated in the rules, which are nowhere to be found. This party didn't happen

Waiter clearly under influence of drugs or alcohol spilled beers he was bringing to our table. It was all over my girlfriend, her clothes were all wet including her phone. Didn't even get proper "I'm sorry or anything" While we understand it can happen to anyone.. But they didn't care much nor show any remorse. And who will pay for the dry cleaning of the leather jacket which now smells of beer and wine?

The student café in Zwolle. In the afternoon you can sit on the terrace or inside while enjoying a drink and something to eat. In the evening there is something to do every day of the week, from cocktail evening to live music or tasty treats, you can also go out here. In my opinion it is too busy during the weekend, but on Thursday evening it is very pleasant with the student associations that also have their society in the flying horse. Definitely recommended to visit!

Had a fantastic party yesterday with an eighty's theme. It was a cozy room with DJ and disco lights. A nice bar with tasty beers and tasty drinks. Recommended.

The entire street belongs to an owner who has a monopoly in the Voorstraat supported by the Zwolle city council, which makes it feel untouchable and places itself above the law. Very unfriendly and racist people who only want to lift you. Be warned and as a foreigner or as a person outside Zwolle you will be treated differently than a blue finger in all his affairs.

Excellent location for students. I'm not one for partying myself but it is a fine location for regular gatherings earlier in the evening. They are also always happy to host student organisation meetings.

As a student in Zwolle you can't really ignore the Horse. Although Boreas has acquired her own society since this academic year, I still have a lot of wonderful memories of the horse. Many parties, AGMs (on the top floor), committee meetings (in the various meeting rooms on the 2nd floor), microwave meals (acceptable quality for a reasonable price) and of course alcohol. The only thing that was really lacking was the quality of the red wine that was served, you wouldn't even do that to a student.......

I can be found at Het Vliegende Paard every week - wrong requests on Tuesdays, live music on Wednesdays, going out on the weekend... even a menu for dinner! The food has good prices and I especially recommend the live music on Wednesdays. Topper in Zwolle
