Hoek's Fish & Food in Wijk 00 Harlingen

It is located directly opposite the terminal for the boats to Terschelling and Vlieland. But it closes so early that you cannot eat there if you arrive or leave in the evening with the ferry, to and from both islands.

Super delicious kibbeling platter (complete with fries, salad, and two dips), friendly, young, dynamic team, quick preparation. You can eat inside or outside, and the place is clean. I'd go back anytime.

The tastiest kibbeling from the wide area. Always friendly service. A real family business.

We have rarely experienced such a boom in unfriendly service and therefore skipped the food.

Ordered 2 rolls of Dutch shrimps with whiskey sauce and kibbeling to take away. A shrimp sandwich costs almost €10 each. There were so few shrimp and sauce on it that we actually only tasted bread. Just ordered here, because the sandwiches were previously well filled. The bickering was okay.

September 2024 Hoek's Fish & Food looks neat. There is an outside terrace with wind screens. Traffic does pass relatively close to the terrace. You can buy all kinds of fish dishes at this place. For example, when you get off/on the boat. No toilet available. You can go to the toilet at the parking garage with a 50 cent coin. The restaurant provides these for guests. Excellent service.

Delicious fried fish, all fresh. Breaded fried mussels, delicious. I recommend the full plate.

At first glance, it's a pretty nice atmosphere. The aquarium in the middle of the room is a real eye-catcher. At second glance there is a bit of dirt here and there and the paint is off. The fish was solid. A little salty for our taste, but nice and crispy.

I can recommend the zeemix. It's a mix of Kibbelinge, fried shrimp, fried mussels and fried squid rings.

The food was generally delicious, but the salmon roll only had salmon on it. Sauce would have been nice. Otherwise it's a really cute shop that's great for a midday snack.

They cannot cope with the crowds at all, they could work much more efficiently. It took half an hour to get 2 herrings. Hygiene insufficient. Taste is fine.

Leave the boat from Terschelling, straight to Hoek. This means you can survive the train journey to Groningen without any problems.

This is the only place in Friesland where I eat and pick up my fresh herring. Or at the other location in Makkum. Fresh from the knife and well cleaned. Kibbeling is also recommended. Good spice mix and not overly breaded like half a donut like in other places.

Had a delicious portion of kibbeling that was crispy and juicy. The only drawback was the temperature of the restaurant, it was nice and warm inside

Ordered a large kibbeling but it was nothing big

We came here for the top reviews, but we all found the fish dry and not thoroughly cooked. The crust wasn't even crispy and there were almost no herbs on it. The fishmongers from our own city (Emmen, Angelo) are more expensive, but really better in every way.

bought something a few times to take with me. It turns out that they can only half develop a croquette sandwich with mayo. For the umpteenth time, when you unpack your order elsewhere, the mayo appears to still be in their stock. How difficult would it be

Delicious fish for a fair price. We tried many different dishes and everything was delicious.

We hadden haast voor de boot. De kibbeling was op tijd klaar, maar ze weigerden het in het bakje te doen. Reden onbekend….

We got off the boat at 6:40 PM and the closed sign was already on the door, a staff member was already standing there with her coat on. The opening times were open until 7:00 PM.

Ate a portion of kibbeling, tasted very good. Friendly help from the lady on duty, food was brought to the table. To be repeated.

After having had several fish restaurants in Harlingen, this one is superior. Especially the kibbeling and the herring. Recommended!

I think opinions about this fishing tent are very different. The bickering was perfect for us. The tables were indeed a bit dirty, but after asking they were all cleaned.

We eat there every time we visit Harlingen. Large portions, everything fresh, located right at the harbor.

Op advies van een "local" daar lekker kibbeling gegeten. En ze waren heerlijk. Vers, krokant en prima gekruid.

It's good when you have no where else to go and you're on the run. But in general the food is not very good. The herring isn't fresh, even though they're right next to the sea. Kibbeling is also frozen. Fries had no flavor. Fish tank in the middle needed to be cleaned.

Uitstekend plekje voor verse en lekkere gebakken vis én snacks, die overigens niet in hetzelfde vet worden gebakken natuurlijk. Wel moet je hier doorgaans lang op je bestelling wachten. Ik wilde vanmiddag 2 softijsjes bestellen, er stond niemand bij de snacks. Wel 4 m/v bij de vis. Ik werd niet eens aangekeken, en ook geen "momentje, ik kom er zo aan". Óf om mij de mededeling dat ik bij de visbalie had kunnen bestellen. Ik ben maar weggegaan, het softijsje hebben we elders gehaald.

Vis ok. Weggestuurd worden , tijdens halfvol restaurant, aankomst boot, en zeggen dat ze na een halfuur weer open gaan. Wilde gewoon een haring meenemen.......Kan echt niet!

I always come here whenever I go to Terschelling and they never disappoint. Very tasty fish and they also have milkshakes. The staff is really friendly too. (Today, I accidentally already paid for a small milkshake while I wanted to order a medium milkshake. They worker told me it was fine and he'd make up for the difference, and I still got the medium shake)

Lekker, minder vond ik dat er op het terras waar gegeten wordt, ook gerookt wordt.

Hele moie schone winkel. Netjes . Maar wat mij wel op valt , dat er maar 2 goede mensen zijn die weten hoe je kibbeling moet bakken. Geen idee of het hier lekker is, want zo ver is het niet gekomen. Direct na binnenkomst, vanaf de boot van Terschelling, werden we de deur gewezen want ze hadden te weinig personeel en moesten zelf nog even eten! Alle begrip voor een tekort aan personeel maar ga dan niet open als er een boot arriveert. Voor mij een slechte klantervaring!

Belachelijke dure prijzen voor zo'n klein lekkerbekje. En veels te vet,lag veel vet in het kartonnen bordje. 3 lekkerbekjes met saus net geen 20 euro op paar centjes na. Kwa formaat 1 lekkerbek, moet je hier 2 lekkerbekken eten. Kwa prijs veels te duur. En binnenzitten te weinig ruimte,je moet geluk hebben, als je plekje hebt. Schreeuwend de bestelling oproepen steeds.

Leider waren alle Sitzplätze und Tische die frei waren sehr verschmutzt. Das Essen können wir nicht beurteilen, da wir wieder gegangen sind.

Pommes und Kibbeling sind sehr lecker. Ambiente, naja, ist ein Schnellrestaurant. Aber sauber! 😉

Die Kibbeling waren frisch fritiert und gut. Fertig- Sauce dazu. Ein Fast Food Fischrestaurant im Hafen, bei den Fähren, nicht zum gemütlichen Aufenthalt geeignet und gewollt.
