What a fantastic party it was Saturday night at Ijgenweis in Clingendael. The atmosphere was great, the singing duo was also really fun, and the food from the BBQ was amazing. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great time. Thanks to Petra, Bianca, and the rest of the team.

Delicious food, friendly people, and a beautiful setting. And once again, success with the delicious cakes.

I love going to IJgenweis. Dogs are very welcome, and my dog always gets really excited when we're around. The lunch is delicious, and especially the vegetarian bitterballen and zero-calorie beers. The service is very friendly.

A lovely spot in the most beautiful park in the Netherlands. They have delicious iced coffee (crushed) with pistachio, for example. Excellent menu for lunch or drinks. Friendly service!

Chill cafe in Clingendale park. The apple pie with cream is delicious! My kids love the bitterballen and avocado fries. Great place to get some snacks and relax during the day if you happen to strolling around the park.

Nice place to have a cup of coffee or something tasty to eat after a walk. Variety of cakes. Service is also very friendly.

I asked for warm apple pie and regular 7up, they confirmed they would get it and then they served cold apple pie and 7up zero. Then the chicken strips had a weird tasting sauce, a bad experience and I waited like an hour for all of that… 💀

Small eatery in the middle of the Clingendael park. Fairly large terrace inside limited seating. We could sit outside. Plenty of staff, service was quite fast, we found the ladies friendly. Prices of food and drinks are good for what you get. Toilets available. Accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Parking is outside the park.

Zeer fijne plek om na een wandeling in het park wat te nuttigen. Bedoening is snel en vriendelijk ondanks de drukte. Er is een voor en zij terras en een kaart met veel lekkere broodjes en gebak.

We were here on Sunday, in beautiful, sunny weather, so it's no wonder that there were few free places. The service was very nice and the food was surprisingly good. Very tasty cake. I sincerely recommend it.

We had lunch here today on a sunny warm day. The atmosphere inside was meh...but it was cool, because there was no room outside on the terrace. My friend had two sandwiches with 2 croquettes. Was fine. I had 1 sandwich with lettuce and salmon. We received our food on white disposable plates....strange! All in all it was a dry mess because the bread was not spread with butter or dressing, unfortunately. It was a dry slice of brown bread with chopped lettuce, slices of salmon, too many capers and some dressing here and there, far too little. This didn't make me happy! After twisting your neck for a while and shouting at someone pretending not to hear you, the lady who had served us before finally came. This lady at the counter was very friendly. I asked for some butter and got it quite quickly. Unfortunately we were not asked why! Apparently not open to comments or suggestions....

Great terrace and service, but it is strange that it is called a tearoom with only mint and ginger tea on the menu.

It is strange that the site states that reservations are not possible during the opening of the Japanese garden and that all places inside are reserved. Outside there was no more room and buying a bottle of water to take with you is unfortunately not an option.

After half an hour of waiting and waving, no one came to take the order. So I don't know what it's like, but we left again.

Helps very well with losing weight. Ordered food, but did not receive it. Forget! It's best to order a drink and cake, but no food that needs to be prepared.

Nice place, but a pity that the quality of the lunch was very disappointing. There are really much better croquettes available. For example at Holtkamp in Maassluis or Oma Bob. The vegan was also disappointing. And why do they use paper plates? No advertising for a catering company. Shame

Het is niet echt een theescherij. We verwachten een gezellig theehuis met verse thee maar het is eigenlijk verouderde horeca met een standaard kaart voor lunch. Ze hebben wel thee maar gewoon de gangbare smaakjes in een zakje. Gebak krijg je op een papieren bordje. Niet sfeervol. Zeker niet wat je verwacht.

Nice place in a quiet park. Efficient no-nonsense service. The prices are significantly lower than elsewhere for comparable choices, but the quality has been compromised somewhat. The croquettes I ordered were edible....

We spontaneously stopped by here today for lunch and were very pleasantly surprised. What friendly staff and how well they had everything in order. We were served quickly and well. One of us had to eat gluten-free and this was also very well arranged. Sandwiches, poffertjes and carrot cake, it was difficult to choose, they were all so delicious. Great and highly recommended! Tip: a gluten-free cookie with coffee also completes it!

The toilets were exceptionally clean

Very nice place with very friendly staff. Enjoyed a delicious lunch. The piadini is highly recommended. We will definitely come back!

Very cozy, in the middle of Clingendael. There is a playground for the children within a 5-minute walk.

After a walk in the beautiful park and the Japanese garden, it is fantastic that - when the weather is nice - you can immediately relax on the terrace. The whipped cream you get with the apple pie is of rare quality

Very modest and cozy place with tasty food and nice service!

The service was very poor. The waiter forgot our ordered food. In the end it came on cardboard plates without cutlery. When we asked for cutlery, he said: I will get that. The food tasted mediocre. Not to be repeated. When I go to the park again, I bring my own lunch.

Hi I was not quite happy about this the reason why is quite ominous I saw a rat in my garden

Very expensive for something served on a paper plate. The tuna salad was somewhat dry, but very tasty chicken nuggets!

Older lady with white short hair terrible customer service, very rude . She showed all her negativity in first 20 seconds while I was searching for wallet in the bag to pay off my kids ice cream. Not sure what’s up with here , very unpleasant feeling after we even entered to get snack.

Lovely spot after a walk in Clingendael or the Japanese garden. Good wine. The lady who takes the order is an example of patience. Very relaxed. After a mistake in our order we were treated to a free drink. Class! Especially with today's hustle and bustle...

On Google it says open from 10am to 5pm. After sitting in the car for an hour for a nice breakfast, you will be closed until March 29.

You're sitting there wonderfully, in the middle of the forest. It's a pity that the cycle path does not continue to the terrace. You are obliged to walk.

Prachtige omgeving en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Voor elk moment van de dag hebben ze wel wat lekkers.

Never had bad service like here before. No friendliness and you are immediately treated as a second-class citizen. Above all, I had to pay €0.10 for a plastic surcharge, but I got everything made of paper. Even my coffee was in paper cup. The rest of the visitors received their coffee in a coffee mug.

A charming location inside Japanese garden. Tea and coffee are not really delicious but quite cheap. Staffs are so friendly.

Superlekkere verse appeltaart!! En hele fijne rustige plek middenin het groen. Cappuccino helaas niet van een echte barista/bonenmachine, dus dat proef je duidelijk.

Fantastic tea house within the Clingendael park to enjoy a sunny lazy day. They also had carrot cake on the menu but I went for a strawberry cream cake to expand my horizons. Will have to return to try carrot cake.

Ik kom de volgende keer weer voor een heerlijke lunch dat zag er namelijk ook erg lekker uit💚 en ik hoop dat jullie snel de airco krijgen🙏 zondag is in de omgeving gratis parkeren 🅿️

I arrived 10 minutes early than opening hours. They started to ask order sharp at 10, but they didn't follow the order of arrival, so I was 3rd although I was first. But then, kitchen is closed at 10... That makes very little sense. I mean they just make liquid at the opening...

Geweldige service!! Heerlijk eten en een heerlijke plek! Als je in clingendael ben moet je naar ijgenweis!!

Lekker in de zon op het terrasje genoten van een broodje rendang ( van jackfruit!) En daarna struinen in Clingendael en de Japanse tuin. Goede prijzen, vriendelijke bediening en lekkere versnaperingen!

Heerlijk genieten in het bos op een fijn terras met vriendelijke bediening. Ruime keuze uit gebak en lunchgerechten. Prima verblijf dus. Écht een aanrader!

Super leuke locatie om te genieten van een kopje koffie en een lekker broodje. Zeer vriendelijke en attente medewerkers. Ondanks dat het super druk was waren de bedieningmedewerkers geduldig en super vriendelijk. We komen zeker snel nog een keer langs wanneer we in de buurt zijn.

Wij komen hier al jaren. Heerlijke plek! Erg vriendelijk en gezellig personeel, lekkere dingen op de menukaart, ook vegetarisch. Je kan in de zon en schaduw zitten. Een aanrader!

Ik kom hier al meer dan 10 jaar en het is altijd goed. Vriendelijke bediening en lekker snacks en lunch. Prijzen zijn heel redelijk. Als het er druk is door Japanse Tuin moet je soms iets langer wachten maar door de prachtige omgeving en de (meestal) andere gezellige gasten is dat geen probleem. Een echte aanrader!

elke eerste maandag van de maand maken we al vele jaren met een groep een wandeling in Clingendael en gaan dan altijd gezellig wijn drinken en heerlijke borrelhapjes eten bij het theehuis IJgenweis! we worden steeds weer hartelijk ontvangen! de wandeling wordt steeds korter maar zolang we het theehuis nog kunnen bereiken blijven we ons daarop verheugen! veel dank voor jullie gastvrijheid!

Was een beetje huiverig vanwege de niet al te positieve recensies maar we hebben hier hartstikke leuk gezeten! Personeel was gewoon vriendelijk, eten was goed en je zit heerlijk relaxed en gezellig midden in de mooie natuur. Wij komen zeker nog eens koffie drinken 🙂

We hadden poffertjes besteld maar hadden gelezen dat deze niet gaar zouden zijn. We waren op onze hoede maar de kinderen wilde ze. De poffertjes waren prima en zelf hadden we heerlijk appelgebak. De serveerster gadget aan dat de poffertjes gegaard van de leverancier komen en worden verwarmd in de oven. Kids vonden ze heerlijk. Het was druk en bedrijvig maar snelle bediening en prima als korte tussenstop.

Vooral de sfeer buiten (achterkant) is leuk. Ik had hier meerdere recensies gelezen dus ik vreesde het ergste maar het viel mee. De mensen die er werkten waren vrolijk en aardig. De Japanse tuin is prachtig!

Uitstekend bakkie in het park restaurant

Lekkere cappuccino met speculaasje, en vlotte bediening. Heerlijk buiten gezeten aan picknicktafel met anderen. En zo kwam leuk eigenwijs gesprek op gang. 😃

Prachtige locatie. Wel handig om de openingstijden aan te passen op Google. Hij was namelijk dicht.

Gezellig druk. Alleen koffie gedronken.

Niet heen gaan wanneer het druk is. Er is geen overzicht en bediening is onvriendelijk.

Het was gezellig druk én lekker..

Leuke plek om even een drankje te doen tijdens het wandelen.

Zelden een plek op zon mooie locatie gevonden waar het personeel met zoveel plezier werkt dat je er liefst dagelijks even gaat zitten voor de koffie. Eerst een wandeling door de bossen en dan even genieten van koffie met iets lekkers bij IJgenweis. Altijd een praatje en altijd een koekje voor de hond. En het eten is ook nog eens heerlijk!

I have been to this park/café since I was little and often the staff of this café has been unfriendly. This time the staff was friendly though! Most of the time loud dogs and or children. To use the toilet it costs 1 euro and it’s the only toilet in the park that I know of. The food is pretty okay. The carrot cake and hot chocolate are good. We spent around 22 euro for 3 drinks and 3 cakes 🎂.

Mooi gelegen in Clingendeal. Eenvoudige gerechten.
