The welcome was warm, and the hostess was also pleasant at the table, despite us being half an hour late. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant. The food was very good, but not for a very big eater. It was fine for me, but if you like a lot, it becomes difficult. However, for me, it is recommended and definitely worth repeating.

The food was truly excellent and the service was very polite, although they occasionally forgot to bring drinks we'd ordered. And the ambiance is truly stunning, beautifully decorated. A real asset to Deventer.

Hidden gem for fine dining! We’ve been here twice now and both visits were absolutely fantastic – we were not disappointed either time. For anyone who loves pure, refined flavors, we highly recommend this restaurant. Not only is the food well above average, but the ambiance is more than excellent too. If places like Huisje James, Lemon Tree, and Sizzles at the Park represent the level you’re looking for, this restaurant can easily keep up with them. Last minute booking was not a problem!!

Beautiful location and good food

This is absolutely the last time I'll be back. Having a drink on this beautiful terrace is simply far too expensive. This time, I was there with my granddaughter for two glasses of wine and a portion of bitterballen (a type of Dutch snack). The wines arrived promptly, but the bitterballen were slow in arriving. Ultimately, we had to chase them ourselves. Only when our glasses were almost empty were the bitterballen served—and then we were asked if we'd like another drink. You'd almost think this was a deliberate strategy to get customers to spend more.

Had a wonderful lunch. Beautiful, sleek yet atmospheric decor. Excellent service with expert wine knowledge. And the view! A truly culinary afternoon. Top!

Our experience with seven people, made well-advised reservations, was negative. One of us ordered a cocktail, which arrived exactly 45 minutes later. We received our menu 20 minutes after arriving/receiving us. So, everything was very late. The pizzas were very small (we had asked about portion size beforehand) and insufficient for a main course. There were no vegetables at all in the dishes. We had a 16-month-old baby with us who needed to be changed. There was a high chair, but no table with baby equipment. We had to lie on the floor with a hastily provided towel. A truly terrible experience, and they won't be seeing us again!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a modern style. While the furniture inside is comfortable, the outdoor furniture on the terrace is less suitable for long periods of sitting, with the exception of the lounge chairs. On the terrace, you sit upright in the chairs, while the view and the menu invite you to spend a good part of the day relaxing. We had a wonderful meal and drinks! We found the bites a big hit. They were all very tasty. We found the cauliflower kibbeling a bit large. The foie gras crème brûlée is sublime. Unfortunately, it sold out quickly, as you'll want more of it! A matter of inventory management? For our main course, we shared a crunchy tuna pizza, fries, and a green salad. The pizza was delicious, but the side dishes need some attention. The price-quality ratio isn't quite right yet. We drank the cava brut, which paired everything well. The service was young but good! At times, the staff were a bit too busy with each other. But otherwise, they were friendly and knowledgeable. All in all, the restaurant is a place we will definitely return to and will continue to look at and order from the menu with fascination.

Teleurstellend August 2025 Helaas viel ons etentje bij IJssel restobar erg tegen. Vooral de prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is volledig zoek. Zeebaars was kromgetrokken, oesters verdwenen onder een soort mousse waardoor de smaak niet tot zijn recht kwam, witte wijn die wij drinken niet koud op voorraad, een kleine tournedos voor maar liefst 50 euro, geen menu, alleen a la carte, voor de side dishes hoge prijzen, geen amuses of attent voorafje en zo kan ik nog wel even doorgaan.! Mijn inschatting is dat deze uitbaters vreselijk misbruik maken van de mooie locatie en ervan uitgaan dat de mensen die er komen eten de rest voor lief nemen. Het personeel was gelukkig vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Helaas een gemiste kans om op deze plek een mooie eetervaring te creëren. Jammer!

Heerlijke lumch op het terras. Geen aparte lunchkaart en voor kinderen niet echt geschikte gerechten. De gerechten die we hadden besteld waren heerlijk. Alleen de huisgemaakte mayonaise bij de friet viel wat tegen, teveel denkend aan mosterd, ook de kleur was wat geel, wellicht persoonlijke smaak. Bediening uitstekend en natuurlijk op de allermooiste plek van Deventer!!!

A really top restaurant with delicious dishes in a relaxed atmosphere.

Went for lunch. The restaurant tries to come across as exclusive. The food and especially the service are disappointing. Prices are, however, exclusive.

For the prices charged I expected better. I expected better knowledge of the staff about the menu, if you don't want to give the drinks menu at first, then you have to know exactly what is on it. Another example, there are 9 types of tea, but you can't see them in advance, (just name it and we'll have it) so another tea had to be fetched again, all quite easily solved by putting it on the menu, or as staff actually knowing (which can be expected with these prices). Or come by with a tea box, but that may be a very wild suggestion. The food was fine, but if you pay €85 per person for a starter main course, one drink and two bottles of water (€5.50 per bottle, sparkling and still, from their own tap) then I really expect more. Fine is not enough. So although there was little to complain about, preparation etc. was sufficient, I still drove home somewhat disappointed.

Okay, this is quite pricey...but it's worth it! What a delicious lunch! Enjoy! The location is fantastic on the IJssel, sun, breeze, boat. Map is original. Service very friendly and nice pace. The food is just really good and you don't mind paying a little more. Just enjoyed it on the terrace!

What a wonderful place! The interior is beautiful, which makes you feel right at home. Especially because the hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much for them! The menu contains many delicious dishes and the dishes we ordered did not disappoint. It was wonderful! Definitely recommended!

Very nice place, beautiful location. The atmosphere with which you are received, the relaxed way in which you can enjoy the menu and, above all, the incredibly good dishes make you want to come here again.

Delicious meal with 4 people. Some nice dishes: cauliflower kibbeling, beetroot tartare, sea devil and not to forget the gravy that comes with the Rib eye. The price-quality is out of balance. For example, the wine list only has bottles of around €50, the service is very enthusiastic but not too accurate and unfortunately several dishes/wines were not available. Because of the pricing you create a certain expectation that unfortunately could not be realized.

Michelin star worthy food. Delicious oysters with Asian preparation to start, then highly recommended, even though it is the most expensive starter on the menu, it is worth every euro: MRIJ langoustine tartare, a steak tartare with caviar and Granny Smith topping, really the best I have ever had. Dry-aged ribeye to share as a main course was also really good and the mega pistachio macaron for dessert completed the evening completely. Really great food and super friendly service.

Afgelopen vrijdag wezen eten in het vernieuwde ijssel restaurant. Een mooie uitgebreide complete kaart met voor ieder wat wils. En de kwaliteit is prima. Echter alleen voor de prijs is het compleet doorgeslagen t.o.v. de hoeveelheid en bij het hoofdgerecht mag je na dit aangegeven te hebben extra betalen voor een portie friet en salade. Wij zullen hier niet snel meer komen. Bij een restaurant met een ster krijg je meer.

Had a fantastic stay! Very nice and attractive hotel, great for each other. Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the sauna, breakfast (a la carte), dinner and delicious drinks in the conservatory. Room with a view of the IJssel. Dinner was great, nice menu, friendly, knowledgeable service, good wine advice. Own parking lot, ferry sails to Deventer dozens of times a day, when you get off you are in the center. Can't think of anything that was wrong.

I haven't had such a bad restaurant experience in years as I did this afternoon at IJssel Restobar. We had lunch at IJssel Restobar at the invitation of a birthday boy; the birthday boy or girl had reserved this in advance with a menu proposal from the restaurant itself. It started badly with no reception upon arrival, so I had to hang up the coats myself. There were two staff members at the bar, one of whom had a blouse full of stains. The second waitress also did not have a clean blouse on. Our birthday hostess had reserved a luxurious lunch, according to the restaurant's proposal. We had a number of courses, soup, wrap, then yoghurt with fruit (never mind at half past two in the afternoon, I had already had breakfast!), a sandwich with cheese (!) and an egg Benedictine. Nothing special, the wrap or sandwich tastes the same at the Albert Heyn to-go. It might have been okay for breakfast or brunch, but you wouldn't suggest this to someone who wants to book a festive lunch, would you? People knew that there was a birthday boy, but no further attention was paid to it. In any case, the service was substandard, in the beginning we had to walk to them three times while they were folding the napkins behind the fence. No attention to us as guests, let alone any cordiality. In the toilets I saw that the rubbish bin could use a cloth, with caked-on dust, which, together with the dingy appearance of the service, gave an unpleasant impression. I absolutely cannot recommend IJssel Restobar. Addition in response to management's response: you suggest that the birthday boy/girl has made the choice for lunch. This is only partly true: she was offered two options: the normal and the 'luxury' lunch. The birthday boy chose the luxurious version. What matters to me is that you even propose such a lunch with a bowl of yogurt and granola at half past two. And a later addition: during the telephone conversation with an employee about my complaint, I had explicitly indicated that the birthday hostess should not be told that someone had complained. And what happened: the employee calls the hostess and says that someone has left a bad review. It is downright scandalous to do it this way when it had been explicitly discussed not to do this.

Geluncht. Zou feestelijk moeten zijn. Het lunchtent bestond uit mosterdsoep met wrap daarna fruit met yoghurt en granola en daarna een boterham met kaas (echt waar) en een erg bedeictine. Wat n aanfluiting. Zo niet bij elkaar passend. Slechte bediening en n rekening van meer dan 700 eur voor 8 ps…..verschrikkelijk

Good service but simply too expensive. The service was enthusiastic, interested and personal. The young servants deserve a compliment for their friendly attention. The kitchen is technically in perfect order, but lacks the creativity that would justify the hefty prices. For example, you would expect the monkfish and duck breast to be served with different supporting flavors, and not both with white beans in garlic foam. This was really a bad combination with the duck. The wines we chose were delicious, but why are we not offered wine pairing? Similar: our coats were taken and we were guided to our table, but after paying, this attention was no longer there. We were able to look for the cloakroom and choose a jacket there ourselves. Glad they were still there. With a little more attention and creativity, this friendly restaurant can live up to expectations. For now, however, it was simply too expensive for what was offered.

called a day ahead for a reservation in the restaurant with a dog. this wasnt possible, but cafe and terrace was. we arrived today for a coffee and the dog wasnt allowed due to "hygenic" reasons. such a shame that even a place like this doesnt provide guests with the right info ahead. Even at the reception telling that dogs are not allowed for higenic laws....is an outright lie since there is no open kitchen. waste of time!

Attractive restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious 3-course surprise menu and beautiful wines. Tip: also offer a wine arrangement. The breakfast was also great. It was served a la carte. Upon arrival we received a delicious appetizer and a vitamin shot. You could order as much as you wanted. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back!

Delicious food. Attention for us as guests. Had to switch gears with the concept of the menu. But you can also make delicious combinations for lunch without it becoming a full dinner.

Seated in cramped space in an otherwise empty room; loud and inappropriate music; some of the dishes were not worth the money. According to the reaction from the IJssel Restobar they have tried to call me multiple times. They in fact called me only once at an inconvinient moment, so I asked them to call again. There is no trace of any further (missed) calls in my phone list. I also answered them by email and gave them a 2nd telephone number. No reaction. I wonder why they want to give the impression that they tried to contact me. This behaviour only strenghtens my impressions as expressed in my original review.

We drank 1 cup of tea per person. Simple glass of tea with a mini cookie. It turned out to be €6 per glass!!! Shameful, we will never come back!

Tasty food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. In my opinion, the price of the wine is not in proportion to the price of the Christmas dinner. It also took more than an hour before the first amuse / bread was served. That's way too long. The same thing was said around us. Nevertheless, we had a beautiful evening. I hope that in the future bread or a snack will be served sooner.

Prijs-kwaliteit ligt volledig scheef. Gerechten zijn niet hoog op smaak, smaken zijn vlak. Porties zijn klein. Tempo tussen de gangen ligt erg hoog. Wij hebben zelf even op de rem getrapt anders stonden we binnen 1,5 uur weer buiten (3 gangen). Inrichting van de zaal vonden wij steriel (kan natuurlijk een persoonlijke smaak zijn). Als je als koppel komt dan is de kans groot dat je een bank deelt met je buren, je zit bijna bij je buurvrouw op schoot. Persoonlijke gesprekken zijn hierdoor vrijwel niet mogelijk. Stoelen zitten niet comfortabel, bank vertoont doorzit plekken. Personeel is vriendelijk.

We really enjoyed Christmas dinner here. Delicious food, very customer-friendly service and for dessert the fantastic location on the IJssel. A real gem!

Delicious Christmas dinner. Taken care of down to the last detail. Was a great evening. For consideration: 'adults only' for these types of dinners. It is probably possible in France, but the average Dutch child (<14?) is not interested in fine dining.

Beautiful location, nice atmosphere. We were a bit unlucky that there was also a large group dining that same evening, which sometimes made it a bit noisy, but that didn't spoil the fun, because the food and service were excellent.

Amazing food, perfectly chilled wines, but noise levels on an industrial scale. Impossible to have a conversation with yelling across the table. Which is a pity.

I booked a table for lunch as i always used to deo, But, when we arrived , all was changed, instead of sitting out on the terrace to watch the river Ijssel and lovely view of the city we were seated inside in an empty dining room. Then when it appeared we were not happy we were eventually seated outside to enjoy the view, the place was deserted. Usually on a sunny day it is packed with happy guests. The waiter gave us the dinner menu, there did not appear to be a lunch menu, needless to say our good feelings sank like a bad soufflé. There was not much to choose from, The chefs here had always supplied the lunch guests with many choices for a reasonable price - this was no longer the case. What seemed like hours later he returned to take out orders, we made do with entrees and snacks - especially since I am vegetarian the choice was, well, nil. When we finally did get out food, it was beautifully plated very attractive and on tasting everything delicious, a joy to eat - I cannot fault the chef. So, the problems here lie elsewhere. The new management has taken away our charming terrace and our friendly lunches and created something, apparently, that nobody wants. We were deeply disappointed - except for the quality of the food - and we will not be returning.

We came in with high expectations. The photos of the food looked fantastic. The welcome was very good, the door was held open and we were taken to the table. After that it was a bit disappointing, the service is friendly, but we did not have a permanent employee, so we had the feeling that we were occasionally forgotten. We were always either without drinks/food or with dirty plates and that is just not what you expect. the ambiance is good, but it is very noisy in the room, I had to lean over the table to hear what my partner was saying. The concept gives the impression that you can share everything, but the portions of the starters and starters make this difficult. Example: the crispy polenta is 1 piece of polenta that has been topped, which is difficult to share. Just like the North Sea crab, a small shell that is served in an awkward bowl. Beautiful dishes by the way, but difficult and too small to share. As a result, I also think that the price/quality ratio is perceived as out of balance. We do not drink alcohol and we were offered one alternative, a non-alcoholic cava, for which we paid 8 euros per glass. That is almost equal to the commercial cost of a bottle, a bit exaggerated if you ask me. We'll skip this next time.

No welcome, no attention from staff. Mediocre furniture, bad acoustics, little privacy. Starters good, main courses disappointing: cold, bland. Too bad for such a beautiful location! After a couple of days the supervisor, who read the feedback on the restaurants side, phoned and apologised and offered an new meal. Excellent service!

Beautiful place and a surprising menu. Very tasty meal. Nice addition to Deventer! The artichoke and the vegetable garden are highly recommended. A few points for improvement (hence 4 stars instead of 5): upon arrival it would have been nicer if someone was present to receive us and guide us to the table and in our opinion the service could be a little less stiff. Anyway, overall a pleasant restaurant, we will definitely come back.

Just having a drink with my husband... 2 cappuccinos and 2 apple pies with whipped cream, we had to pay 25 euros... sorry, but those are not normal prices and that is also the reason we no longer come to you. Very unfortunate. because we used to enjoy coming there so often

The card is very disappointing, high prices and out of balance. Gone are the amuses, the surprise menus, where you could dine for a long time. I opted for cod, which I got without any vegetables or anything else. The bread and the extra fries ordered were much needed to fill the stomach. Too bad, because the place is fantastic and the service excellent.

Warme ontvangst, mooie locatie en fijne inrichting. Eten was echt zeer matig het niveau waar ze zich op richten halen ze niet prijs kwaliteit volledig uitbalans. Geen plek om lang te tafelen alles gaat enorm snel. Hoe warm de ontvangst was, hoe koud het vertrek. Jammer.

Neither meat nor fish. Way too expensive for what you get. Lunch for 4 was 250 euros+ ex wine. Wine is turned upside down 5 times. Lots of high end ingredients (eg caviar, lobster) but not much creativity in the menu. No amuse-bouche. Very extensive menu with an almost empty terrace on a beautiful summer day seems to be an omen that this restaurant will not survive. Entourage (beautiful setting and a great interior) and a kitchen that has its technology in order shows that there is potential. Only by drastically changing the menu (including lunch menu) and simplifying it, and filling the seats again, will this ever become profitable. As an example - the delicious artichoke would definitely deserve a permanent place!

Mooie ambiance, mooi gelegen terras. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding slecht, eten viel tegen. Tongschar was nog rauw aan de graat en niet te fileren. Een beetje prut erbij een soort van remouladesaus. Had hier beter verwacht. De dame die ons bediende was chagrijnig. Kortom niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Op deze warme zomerse dag een fantastische lunch genoten op het mooie terras van dit restaurant aan de IJssel! De restobar is onderdeel van een hotel, maar is ook heel uitnodigend voor niet hotelgasten. We worden deze middag vriendelijk ontvangen en de menukaart wordt goed toegelicht. De kaart biedt veel keuze aan bites, voorgerechten, hoofdgerechten en klassiekers. Zoals wordt uitgelegd is alles mogelijk en kun je als klant je eigen middag of avond naar wens invullen. Een klassieke menu opbouw, shared dining of enkel voorgerechten, de keuze is aan de klant! Klasse! Wij kiezen met 3 personen een 6 tal bites / voorgerechten om te delen. Een goede keuze zo blijkt. De langoustines worden rauw op ijs geserveerd met tijgermelk en limoen. De kwaliteit van de schaaldieren is fantastisch en de tijgermelk is mooi op smaak. Ook de Spaanse ham is van uitstekende kwaliteit, de olijfolie die over de ham wordt gesprenkeld haalt de mooie smaak nog verder naar boven. Het getoast brood met tomaat maken deze Spaanse klassieker compleet. De ganzenleverterrine wordt geserveerd met hele mooie dikke palingfilet, bereidingen van appel en brioche! Zalig! En we vallen in herhaling maar ook bij de ceviche van kingfish valt de versheid en kwaliteit van het hoofd ingrediënt in positieve zin op! Heerlijk! Het garnituur van sinaasappel en grapefruit maken dit tot een mooi zomers gerecht. De brioche met gepekelde eendenlever wordt vergezeld door ansjovis. Een bijzondere, maar zeer smaakvolle combinatie. Last but not least de tartaar van rund met rauwe langoustine en kaviaar. Een ultiem luxe gerecht dat geweldig smaakt en zijn hoge prijs (€45,-) zeker waard is. Als dessert is de dame blanche erg lekker en extra luxe door de vers gebakken madeleines erbij! Ook de mascarponetaart is een prima afsluiter en wordt op een originele manier aan tafel bereid. De “lange vingers” worden besprenkeld met koffie(likeur), de verse mascarpone komt hier overheen en erbij geserveerd een heerlijke compote van fruit! De service verloopt hier vandaag uitstekend en vlekkeloos. Dit team doet oprecht zijn best om de klant een mooie middag te bezorgen en dat is vandaag zeker gelukt. Kortom de locatie, service en gerechten stralen klasse uit! Complimenten voor het hele team in zowel de keuken als bediening!

Super positive experience after the renovation! Restaurant looked warm and welcoming. Despite his youth, Mica was a good, helpful host with a good sense of humor! Enjoyed several dishes, soft-shell crab was a real favorite. A whole artichoke is really great as a starter. Salmon as a piece was really fantastic. Schor was baked very nicely!

Fijne avond gehad. Goed ontvangst en begonnen met een heerlijke champagne. Personeel was kundig en kon veel uitleggen over de kaart en over de wijnen. Begonnen met de oesters, erg lekker. Ook de ceviche en steaktartaar smaakte goed. Hoofd gerecht vond ik niet heel bijzonder en vond ik niet tegenvallen tegenover de voorgerechten. Thee gedronken in de serre, erg lekker. Al met al, hele leuke en lekkere avond.

Leuke, sober maar modern ingerichte eetzaal. Uitstekende ontvangst en bediening. Originele menukaart. Vrij kleine gerechten tegen stevige prijzen. Ook wijnkaart weinig keus in betaalbare wijnen. Gerechten op zich heel smakelijk. Prettige sfeer. Mooi terras aan de IJssel. Veel , (bijna) gratis parkeergelegenheid dicht in de buurt. Prijs/ kwaliteit voor discussie vatbaar.

What a disappointment! We have eaten at the IJssel restaurant (3 times) before and now for the first time since they call themselves Restobar. We had high expectations after previous times. We had nothing but excellent experiences. The price/quality was always top. But now? The quality is only okay and the price is way too high. We had a Cava as an aperitif and the ceviche kingfish to share (€ 26). Beforehand, when making the reservation, we had indicated that we did not want coriander. The description on the menu also did not mention coriander for this dish. To our astonishment, it still contained coriander (oil). We complained to the waiter and he would pass it on and ask. However, he did not come back to it himself and when we received our main course there was again (and now fresh) coriander with the soft shell crab (€ 24). Complained again and now he said that the kingfish only came with a small dash of coriander oil. As if that could be justified. Once again he would pass it on again, but again no response. The other main course was one of their “classics”; chicken egg from 3 preparations (€ 18). You can't call this dish more than a snack. Very disappointing! Anyway, with a glass of white wine for both, the total came to just over € 118! And that certainly wasn't worth it for us. You can hardly speak of a full lunch. After paying we got up and walked past our waiter. No “thank you”, no “thank you for coming”, no “have a nice day”, just a nod. It's a beautiful place, but we won't come back for the food and the price you pay for it.

A truly amazing restaurant. They have a new design, a new card. Super beautiful dishes, of very high quality. No fuss, just really delicious. And everything can be ordered à la carte. Really something different from all restaurants in Deventer. You can eat one dish, but you can also order different things. You pay a bit more, but I actually don't think it's expensive when you look at the quality of the products. Like crab and caviar are very neat. Nowadays everything is expensive and this is really nice if you take the quality into account. Truly a top business for Deventer. It's a bit of a French style from Belgium and a bit of a Bistro style, but of a high standard. Highly recommended to eat here. I think the menu was put together under the guidance of Yannis Bevet, the old three-star chef of Inter Scaldes.

delicious food, very nice concept!

The food was ok but not for that price. They had a new concept. Unfortunately we were not aware of this. The chairs were not comfortable. But we were glad we weren't sitting on the benches. Your table would then be at chest height. They now have starters, main courses and desserts. But then you expect that you will get more than a piece of meat (potato / vegetable) with a main course. You could also opt for sharing, but the dishes were not really like that. And the table was too small for that. Price was very high for what you got. Shame…. Perhaps due to the new concept, some adjustments will be made. I certainly hope so.

The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was excellent! We were well looked after in a relaxed atmosphere. The culinary delights were delicious and very affordable! Renovations will take place soon and we will definitely come back.

Very good and friendly service, very good quality food

Given the price and status of the restaurant, we went out for a long, pleasant evening of dining, but the staff thought differently. The time between dishes became shorter and shorter. While the main course was being served, certain lights in the kitchen were turned off and cleaning began. Even the floor was clearly audibly scrubbed while we were still eating. A real shame because the bites and starter in particular were really tasty.

Beautiful restaurant located on the IJssel. Entrance is difficult to find.

Enjoyed the chef's dinner on Saturday evening. We opted for the 5 course dinner with matching wines. With each course a clear explanation about the food and the accompanying wine We enjoyed it!

Breakfast is fantastic at this beautiful place with views of the city and river. The new breakfast is "a la carte" which means you pay a fixed price and can order from a menu the items you wish to eat / drink. A vitamin shot belongs to one of the items standardly served to your table. All is served fresh and hot to your table. Dinner I cannot judge as I have not had the pleasure of discovering but judging the breakfast must be fantastic too!!! Highly recommend and that includes the hotel as well!!

A beautiful location and fantastic restaurant

Very tasty, beautifully presented plates, friendly service and nice. Pricey? Yes. But you will definitely get a wonderful experience!

We had an excellent mustard soup for lunch and then various snacks, all from the chip shop. Those snacks were certainly of good quality, but we thought it was a mistake to provide a lunch with them.

So we just weren't helped...and when we got a waitress to take our order, the entire order just didn't come...😳 Really bizarre. It really wasn't too busy or anything. Our impression: if you are not a hotel guest, you are not welcome on the terrace

Wij kwamen voor de lunch. 3 Gangen waarvoor je even de tijd moest nemen. De jonge brigade vertelde uitgebreid over de gerechten. Wij hadden wat te vieren dus namen wij een fles Cava, verrukkelijk! Prachtig uitzicht over de IJssel, in de zomer ook mooi op het terras.

Al weer een tijd geleden dat we hier genoten van de lunch. Vandaag dus opnieuw en we kozen nu het 7 gangen lunchdiner van de chef met bijpassend wijn arrangement. Wat een aanrader!!! Alles klopte gewoon en mede door de vriendelijke goede service en de prachtige lokatie hebben we een fantastische middag gehad! Dank witte en zwarte brigade!

Er wordt goed nagedacht over de (nieuwe) gerechten. We waren er op de eerste dag van de nieuwe kaart. Er worden bijzondere en smaakvolle gerechten geserveerd. We hadden het drie gangen menu en dat werd in een mooi tempo voorgeschoteld. De bediening is vriendelijk, heeft alles zelf geproefd en weet dus waar men over praat. Dank Wolfje! Bijbehorende wijnen worden goed voorgesteld. De ambiance is rustig, gemoedelijk en sjiek. We starten en eindigden in de serre, van waar we de IJssel mooi konden zien.

Een zeer duur zaken restaurant je kunt er niet een een broodje kroket kopen...

Ik vind de plek perfect, maar bediening achteruit. Eten is prima. Koffie a 4,25 of 4,50 werd geserveerd zonder koekje of chocolaatje. En de eerste koffie ook nog zonder melk en suiker! Chocolaatje na navraag, blijkbaar alleen na de lunch. Dat werd dan nog nabezorgt. Jammer dat we erom moesten vragen. Beetje karig.

Bijzonder lekkere en interessante gerechten bij IJssel Restaurant. Uitstekend bereid en zeer smaakvol met goede, bijpassende wijnen. Voor de prijs had ik iets meer verwacht van de service. De borden en glazen bleven lang op tafel staan en iets meer inhoudelijke kennis over wijnen en bepaalde recepten/ingrediënten ontbrak.

Wij hadden het 4 gangen menu van de chef als lunch gekozen. De porties waren minimiaal. Alle gerechten waren aangemaakt met hetzelfde zuurtje. Dessert met olijf ijs en stukjes olijf vond ik erg onsmakelijk. Dame in de bediening was vriendelijk maar heeft nog veel te leren betreft uitserveren en tafels controleren op lege glazen. We waren 127,- voor 2 personen kwijt. Voor ons is het Ijssel restaurant niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Top avond gehad in combinatie met slapen bij Pillows hotel. Goede bediening, een keuken die durft te experimenteren en verrassende wijnen. Dank!
