After a long time, I ate here again through Social Deal. Of course, you don't expect to be able to choose from the entire menu, but choosing just one starter isn't a choice. The three main courses are also very similar. It's a shame the staff has to communicate in English. Otherwise, they're friendly.

We wanted a tasty bite to eat before a concert. And we got it! It was a great price, too. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly, fast service with a smile. Highly recommended, and you'll definitely see us again.

Unbelievable. Ordered via Thuisbezorgd well before closing time. We wait because the food is not coming. After waiting for over an hour we call to ask where the food is, it turns out they are closed. After calling a few times we got someone from the kitchen on the line who said that they could not prepare the order and that all the deliveries had already left. Nothing was communicated to us but instead they closed the place and went home. Really bad. Never ordering food from here again.

After a while back at Mantra, but unfortunately the food is no longer tasty. No tandoor oven, because we ordered mixed grill tandoori and it was cooked in tandoori spices and certainly not cooked in a tandoor oven !!! tasteless and spiceless Tarka Dahl. Everything is bland and tasteless….. never again The owner responds to my review with the fantastic sentence “I don't care if you like the food” that says enough about this restaurant I think…..

Ordered Rogan Josh from Mantra restaurant in Arnhem and it really wasn't tasty. This is one of my favorite dishes and I was really looking forward to the version from Mantra restaurant, but was really disappointed. The curry was tasteless full of chunky pieces of ginger and very small pieces of lamb. The onions were not properly caramelized and were still glassy and had no spiciness at all. Very unfortunate.

Went there on xmas night . Small cosy restaurant with warm interior. Staff is supper friendly , prices are realistic, and good vs price ratio is also great . Food itself was somewhere in between napalies, Indian and Pakistani. In short, it is delicious, not crazily spicy , well cooked, and well presented. I had chicken korma and pashwari naan as main and qulfi, which was super ethentic as dessert . As a starter, I had a mix plate, which had enough for two people and good verity . Highly recomand this place who want ethanol food without buring mouth and wallet.

Tasty, friendly, pleasant, in short, worth it!

The madras was very sour and not very hot. Staff were friendly but not quick to serve. We had to get attention for drinks and to order. We were the only table at the time (it got busy whilst we were eating).

I wanted to eat out of the box with a friend in Arnhem. Not only a restaurant in Arnhem that I have never been to, but also something other than carpaccio and spare ribs (of course I don't always have it, but I often do). I will buy a Social Deal from Mantra and we thought that would be a good way to try something new (I think that is also the idea of ​​Social Deal). The restaurant is a bit hidden in an alley parallel to Willemsplein. An alley that I never actually walk through, but I often pass by. So I had not seen the restaurant before. We made a reservation on a Tuesday at 6:00 PM. When we walked into the alley we saw that the restaurant was completely empty. If I hadn't made a reservation I wouldn't have entered such a restaurant (completely empty), but we were here to try it out. In terms of decor, it was a bit dated and the restaurant could use some more atmosphere (for example the floor). The Social Deal was a fixed menu and we could choose a dessert from the menu. As a starter we had crispy fried onion rings. This was tasty and I thought we got quite a lot. As a main course we all got a traditional Indian rice table. The rice table consisted of various containers with sauces (curry, yogurt, etc.), with a container of rice and naan bread. Everything that came with this dish was also very tasty. For dessert I chose the safe route, 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. In principle, 6 euros for a dessert is not expensive these days. Nowadays you can easily pay 9 euros or more for a dessert. But when I saw what I got, 2 very small scoops of vanilla ice cream with nothing else, I thought it was expensive again. Slightly larger buns, a sprig of mint, some whipped cream and a chocolate and they could easily have charged 9 euros. My friend ordered an extra coke with dessert, but she never received it, but it was later not included in the bill. Meanwhile, two new customers had entered the restaurant who actually wanted to take away, but ultimately stayed to eat. And later another couple came to pick up some food. So between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM there were 3 couples including myself (6 customers), while that is prime time I would say. Because the food is quite good, you start to wonder why it is so quiet. As I said, the atmosphere of the restaurant could use an update and the service was not perfect (no second coke and a dirty spoon with tea), but the man was not unfriendly either. In short, there are some areas for improvement, but I couldn't really explain it further. Although to be honest, I don't think I would come back because I find the atmosphere and good service at least as important as the taste of the food. Hopefully they will change something about that and things will run a little better, because the food was excellent! Legend: 1) Terrible! I don't recommend it, I will never come back! 2) Too bad, below my expectations, I won't come again. 3) Ok, nothing wrong with that, but nothing special, nice for once. 4) Fine, worth coming back. 5) Excellent! I recommend, I will definitely come back!

Great place to eat out. It's small, which also means it feels more personal. We had to move fur iture a bit with a group of 6. The staff was friendly and offered advice gladly. We asked to be surprised with a full menu, cook's choice. This meant we got a taste of new things (new to us), which was nice.

It's like a hidden gem, away from the limelight but the food is amazing. I am normally sceptical regarding Indian food around Europe but this place just won me over. Amazing food, flavours and customer service. The chef makes sure your requests are considered which mostly get ignored in other places. I've made sure to have dinner here whenever I'm in Arnhem and they haven't disappointed till now. Do check them out.

Very cozy and delicious. Friendly service and a very wide choice of tasty dishes (we did have to wait a while for our meal). The portions were large. I personally had 'tandoori tikka lamb' - it was actually too much meat for me / vegetables could have been more. Definitely recommended for a delicious meal! 👍🏽

Delicious food! Don't be distracted by the surroundings…

My husband and i thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here tonight. They were packed, but service was incredibly attentive (but not overly so), and the food arrived quickly. We had momos, onion bahji, saag paneer and butter chicken. Incredible flavors! They even made us our own special hot sauce so we could spice things up a bit. This is definitely our new go-to place.

Ate a few times in quick succession. It was already a favorite under the previous owner and it still is, now also with Nepalese dishes. What's on the table is always delicious, so enjoy! And although the service speaks English, they are also very friendly, so no problem. Perhaps the restaurant could use a small upgrade, but that is actually part of its charm and the more chic and luxurious the more expensive. And that is also a big plus because they still charge reasonable prices for the food here. So we will definitely come back there more often!

Atmospheric place where we rushed to last minute. We had 30 minutes to eat and were kindly received and helped. The food was delicious. I love saag panier and had never eaten this version before. This restaurant is recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy Indian dishes in a nice atmosphere.

I was a big fan of this restaurant for years. Even when Mantra changed hands, although it was a little different, it was still good. But when we were there yesterday, we were served a vegetarian thali that was scanty, tasteless, and extremely watery. After we complained about this, the response was that this was just typical Indian. Unfortunately, this was therefore my last visit to Mantra. If I want water, I turn on the tap.

zeer lekkere, eerlijke keuken, alsof ik terug in India was ruime porties, met drie personen namen we elk een ander gerecht nl Tandoori Garlic Lamb Tikka, Chicken Rizala, Veg Korma en niet te vergeten het overheerlijke, vers uit de oven Garlic Naan we kozen voor Kingfisher, Cobra en een rode wijn om alles te blussen alhoewel de gerechten heet maar eetbaar waren we waren gecharmeerd door zeer vriendelijke, correcte bediening, niets is hen te veel zeker eens doen wanneer je in Arnhem bent

I have been looking for some authentic Indian cuisine with some rich flavors. I had ordered garlic naan with Chana Masala and Paneer Tikka Masala. The garlic naan was so crisp, and the small bites of garlic was just so tasty and delicious. Chana Masala was so refreshing and the best Chana Masala I had in the Netherlands. Last but not least, Paneer Tikka Masala, the gravy was so rich and so creamy that I would have eaten just the gravy itself. I don't remember the last time when I had this delicious food. The person who greeted me was so humble, such a sweet guy. I observed that he greeted everyone with the same smile and same humbleness. Many, many thanks and respect to the chef who made such delicious and refreshing meals. Many thanks to the owner as well. He was also actively involved in serving, and he made sure his employees and customers got the same respect. It is difficult to find owners like this. If you are living around Arnhem and are craving for some delicious Indian food, look no further than this fabulous restaurant..😋

Delicious dinner with 5 people. 3 of us have eaten here before. Immediately received papadum with chutney, could watch quietly and ordered several dishes to share in several rounds. Vega starter mix, malai chicken as a starter. Lamb biryani, Goa fish curry, saag paneer, chana massala, garlic naans as main courses...and delicious warm gulab jamun with cold kulfi. Both on 1 spoon, delicious. We will do this more often with our group. We don't care about the interior at all, it's all about the food...but oh well.

We regularly eat at Indian restaurants. A few years ago (with the previous owner) we had a delicious meal here. Had dinner here again last weekend and the food was great! Usually our choice is something spicy, such as Madras or Vindaloo (which at the previous owner was very spicy compared to many other Indian restaurants), but this time we were attracted to dishes that we do not often see on the menu: Chicken Sharabi and the Gurka Lamb. Both were surprisingly tasty in terms of flavors! The naan bread and the mango lassi are also recommended. The peshwari naan in particular. The service was very friendly, but they spoke English, which was no problem for us. The restaurant is basicly furnished, but certainly not unpleasant. We will definitely come back again.

Food came without sauce that was on the menu. Lamb was cooked way too long and was rock hard. At the end of the evening it was announced that they were closing and the tea was simply taken away. Not feeling well on the way home. Unfortunately, I threw up at home.

We had a very nice meal with 9 people. May not be a fancy restaurant for some, but the food and service were excellent. Maybe a tip: there is a mixed starter (very tasty by the way). Something like this could also be done for the main courses. It's easy and fun to share if you're eating with a group and not everyone has to choose their own dish.

Incredible food! We ate here last week, and both the chicken vindaloo and the king prawn tandoori were delicious. We were seated and served very quickly (with some poppadoms and a very tasty mint chutney to start), and both the chef and owner were very friendly. The restaurant is slightly tucked away from the main street but absolutely worth finding!

I was on a month long business trip to the Netherlands recently and being a vegan, I was worried about the food. But Mantra restaurant came to my rescue. The owner Mr. Shyam is a true gentleman and took great care of our lunch and dinner during the entire stay. The chef, Mr. Deepak ensured to prepare delicious food, which tasted homely and we never felt like missing home made food. It was an awesome experience to meet these two gentlemen, who always ensure to take great care of their customers, especially those from India. Do visit once and experience it to believe my words. Had a delicious meal with 5 people. Large choice of chicken, lamb, fish, shrimp and vegetarian dishes. The different dishes we ordered were all equally tasty. As side dishes we chose naan and raita: fantastic! The service is informal, friendly and correct. The restaurant itself is sober in design. But it was well occupied on a weekday evening. That in itself says enough. Recommended.

The food is really so tasty!! The interior may be a bit simple. But you can really eat there emptier. So if you mainly go for the taste, this is the place for you. Reservations are useful, although not always necessary.

After seeing the good reviews, decided to eat here. It seems their chef is a microwave. The chicken was chewy, it is noisy and the cook looks uninterested. Never again.

After reading good reviews, we ate here. Bad food, bad service, noisy space. Smelly clothes afterwards. And to top it all off: having to pack your leftovers yourself if you ask to take leftover food with you. I don't understand where all those good reviews come from. Don't eat here!
