Great, cozy place and good and fast staff

TLDR: We were charged over €12 for 0.5l beers. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience, and I've seen a lot in the restaurant business. We ordered two pitchers of beer, and the waiter recommended two Belgian beers on tap (1.5l per pitcher), which we then ordered. After that, we ordered two ciders and a shandy from bottles (approx. 0.3l each). In the end, the bill came to €98.60. That's over €12 per 0.5l beer! Yes, we didn't study the menu and prices very carefully – but is that really necessary in a simple pub in the Netherlands? The bill simply listed "speciaal bier" five times, so there was no transparency. When I asked for a more detailed description of what we had ordered, the waiter just wrote "special bier" on the back of the bill again and was very unfriendly. A constructive discussion was impossible; we were told to "come back tomorrow when the boss is here." A woman who intervened from the sidelines was also shocked by the prices. It was the last day of our vacation, and we wished we had spent it differently. Tourist trap! TLDR: We were charged more than €12 per 0.5L of beer. Yes, we have the map and the prizes for the best prices - can you get something in a simple pub in the Netherlands? On the bon stond alleen 5x "special beer" was reported, which was also totally good in terms of transparency. Toen ik vroeg om a specificatie of what we precies hadden gehad, schreef de Ober simply way nogmaals "special beer" on the Achterkant. A structural design was not possible; We want to say "tomorrow we'll be back as soon as he is". A woman who wants to have a nice look, has access to the writing and hair in the price. It was the last day of one of our vacancies and we had brought the items to the door differently. Tourist trap!

Super nice people, but there is one gentleman who doesn't enjoy his work at all. This review is certainly not for the pub itself, but purely for the person who served us.

I used to go there every evening when I was in Sneek... a lovely pub with lots of nice and friendly people, the staff are friendly and super efficient... Best regards to everyone, I'll be back as soon as I can...

Great place for a drink in Sneek. They have good beer on tap and the staff is friendly. I just didn't quite get the music selection; it was all Dutch ballads and carnival music. You'd expect something different from an Irish pub.

Musicians are allowed to wear hats inside, caps are not allowed, but I have to take off my hat (a hat is not a cap and if a musician can keep it on, why not the paying citizen?). Yes, then you won't lose anything to me, the ball tent at the fair has more atmosphere and fun in the empty cans that you can knock over, than the outdated rules of Jan ball tent!!! From now on I will go to Bar 't Ouwe Vat the old-fashioned way, where you can just be who you are and where it is fun for everyone, without being prejudiced whether or not you are wearing a hat, a Scottish kilt, Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord or Barcelona shirt on. You are welcome and can be yourself!!!

We come to Sneek especially for the pub. At least once, but if possible more often per year. Super.

Fantastic location for a party! Two weeks ago I organized a surprise party for my friend at the Irish Pub in Sneek. Pleasant communication, super friendly staff and a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Everything was neatly arranged and we had a great evening. Recommended!

Unfortunately no draught Guinness, but Murphy's is an acceptable alternative. Great atmosphere, and very friendly staff. A wide range of beers, wines and more. Have to admit that the 2023 Saint Patrick's Day celebration was a bit disappointing. Barely any Irish music played. Not really a traditional Irish atmosphere I'm used to when visiting Irish pubs.

Just a beer and a soft drink with a Bitrerball. Murphys Red was just drinkable, the 2nd Murphys was not Red but better to "haggle". Just put it on the keg that was almost empty, no problem. Atmosphere and hospitality are more than ok.

The house wine was sour. Paid 4.60 for it. I feel really cheated. Price in relation to quality is incorrect.
