The best fries in The Hague! The peanut sauce could indeed be warmer and a little less sour... otherwise, a 10 for hygiene! And friendly, hard-working people!

It's not what it used to be. In the past, you ordered by phone and were told how long it would take. It could be ten minutes, it could be forty-five minutes. No problem, because you knew when you had to head that way. Nowadays, they don't answer the phone when it's busy. The result: everyone walks over to order and sometimes stands waiting for almost half an hour just to be able to order at all. In that case, you would have been better off cooking something yourself, or faster. It is still tasty, though: that hasn't changed.

Quite nice people, but the fries are really substandard, just like the peanut sauce. They have no flavor and are undercooked; it used to be better.

I've never been treated so poorly in my life. I've always been treated kindly, until a girl with pigtails gave me a rude and aggressive receipt and got defensive when I told her she'd forgotten her sandwich. She yelled at me to leave, even though I'm always polite to the staff and have never had any problems. I've never been treated like that in a restaurant.

A fixture on Weimarstraat for many years. We drive there especially because Joke Koemans has the tastiest homemade peanut sauce (not the sticky, sweet sauce from Wijco). The display case is always well-stocked and looks very well-maintained. Just like the rest of the store. Joke and the rest of the staff are always friendly and professional, always looking impeccable in their white shirts, which speaks volumes to the overall hygiene standards. If the taste police were to come here, it would be a 10 with a star. So, Joke, keep up the good work, so we can continue to enjoy the delicious snacks and your tasty peanut sauce for a long time to come. Best, Maurice

Very good place. Tastiest fries. Top-notch. Please note! Temporarily closed from January 5, 2025 until (I believe) January 14 due to renovations.

I was sitting with my 6-year-old son on the bench outside Koemans. We'd gotten ice cream at Luciano's. We were aggressively dismissed. A female employee said it didn't say "Luciano" on the bench. I asked where it was, but it wasn't written anywhere. I was shocked by her tone. You could just say it politely, or clearly write on the bench that only Koemans customers are allowed to sit there. Very unfriendly to me and my child. P.S. The bench is a bit further away from the building.

Just got a large fries with mayo. Unbelievable that you get a single scoop of fries for €5. The containers are indeed large, but the fries that should be in them weren't. I might as well have gotten small fries. Shameful, I didn't expect this from Koemans!

My experience at Koemans was that I was helped very politely by a man and a woman. They were very positive and customer-friendly, just how you always want to be helped. They sell the most delicious fries and milkshakes there. Even though it was busy (Friday evening), it didn't take long before I was helped. I highly recommend eating here!

Delicious fries, friendly staff, the Surinamese gentleman is the best! The ladies are also super friendly. For me personally, these are the best fries (read: clean, and incredibly crispy). I don't really understand the negative reviews. My whole family has known Koemans Weimarstraat for a long time. For us, it's still the tastiest and best in the neighborhood!

This young girl with glasses is tragic. You always wait a long time for your order and she is not nice. But the gentleman who works there is very nice. If someone is able to accept this, they have really fresh fries.

My partner was aggressively approached by an employee on a normal question after his order was executed incorrectly. From reading the other reviews my partner niry is the only one who was treated rudely by the employee in question.

Today I picked up an order, but before I could order it was already 20 minutes away. During the making, a girl was trained by an experienced employee, which was done in anything but a good way. Everything the new girl did was criticized and not told in a respectful manner, she was yelled at and made fun of in front of the entire store. It took a long time before my food was ready, for example the fries were already ready and the smacks still had to go into the fryer.

The fries are always good here: Nice and crispy, not too greasy (fat is always fresh), snacks always well fried (they also have soufflé cheese soufflés! :D), and the staff is friendly and competent. It always looks clean and organized inside. I come here regularly and am honestly surprised that they don't have more stars on Google. Glad to have this one around!

You were met with a greasy smell, okay, benefit of the doubt (it used to be great here), order anyway, rasp fries were not tasty (old fat), salad was old. Employee not one of the nicest.

Super fun dynamic between the two lovely ladies who were working! Made it very accessible or something and human! A snack bar where you would go if you want a sandwich and a smile!

Heerlijk om zo af en toe te halen. Aardig en gezellige mensen!

Na 6 maanden in het buitenland erg verlangd om bij terugkomst hier het hele snack-schap leeg te kopen om bij een grote berg friet weg te eten. Belevenis om lekkere frituut te halen. Hoop altijd dat Manon er is. -1 ster omdat ze geen stoofvlees hebben (mag je dat vragen boven de rivieren)? En omdat ze niet zo efficiënt zijn met bakken, maar daardoor heb je er wel nóg meer zin in gekregen

Vandaag heb ik hier voor het eerst een frietje gehaald. Was erg lekker en niet te vet. Binnen ziet het er ook schoon en fris uit en dat zie je ook niet vaak. En dat er geklaagd wordt dat het te lang duurt, neem de tijd en laat die mensen goed hun werk doen ze hebben het nu eenmaal druk omdat het een fijne zaak is.

Lekkerste "old-school" patat, snel geholpen en vriendelijk personeel ondanks de drukte. Veertig jaar geleden kwam ik er al ( we werkten in de buurt... ) en toen zat het Koemans cafetaria er nog naast. Begrijpelijk dat dit opgedoekt werd want als je zo'n makkelijk afhaal cafetaria naast je hebt zitten zal het wel moeilijk zijn om je brood te verdienen ;-) Inmiddels een tijd later en in de buurt komen wonen en nu regelmatig klant. De pindasaus én de patat is geweldig, de rest natuurlijk ook. Ik denk dat dit ongeveer wel de enige serieuze snackbar in de buurt is en verdient de gouden pieper wat mij betreft ! Jammer voor het personeel dat er niet zoveel meer ge'fooi'd wordt omdat niemand meer een piek in zijn zak heeft... ;-)

Sloomste personeel ooit en extreem gierig met porties. Doe een beetje je best op z'n minst.

Snacks zijn niet lekker. In de afgelooen weken 2x dezelfde bestelling gedaan en 2x bijna alles wegegooit. (2x broodje frikandel special, 1x kipcorn, 1x patatje mayo, 1x raspatathe mayo). Alleen de raspatat was een beetje te eten. Wil je lekker snacken ga dan niet naar deze koemans maar die op de frederik hendriklaan. Helaasssssss....

Prima snackbar, alleen wel even controleren of alles in je tasje zit. Ze vergeten weleens wat...

Snacks prima, maar er kon de eerste 10 minuten wachten geen groet (of even oogcontact dat je gezien was) af. Daarna wel oké verder geholpen.

Wisselende ervaringen af en toe, maar erg fijn dat het nog een gewone snackbar is.

Kom hier al dik 20 jaar. Prima snackbar.

Eten is prima bij deze zaak. Eigenaresse is erg onvriendelijk voor personeel en dit weerstaat mij toch om hier wat te halen.. Geen prettige sfeer.

Lekkerste friet, schoonste zaak.
