It is always a pleasure to have something to eat or drink here after a short walk. All the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. They don't immediately switch to English and actually help us order in Dutch. I really appreciate that! Thanks! 😊

Nice location in the woods, attentive young staff, great for a drink (or two) with a snack. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace under one of the large parasols, although they are quite moldy. Unfortunately, an older couple next to us felt the need to light cigars while eating: such a covered terrace is no longer really an outdoor terrace, the smoke lingers annoyingly…

I've been coming here since I was 9, now I'm 35 and it's still great! Especially when Jan is here, it's super fun.

The food itself was fine and tasty. The staff seemed unenthusiastic/unmotivated and came across as unfriendly. Additionally, charges were applied (a bottle of Spa Blue) because we asked for a glass of water to cool down my 7-month-old son's bottle (which they had warmed up for us, making it too hot). By the way, we did not receive a bottle of Chaudfontaine, but half a glass of water. Also charging 5 euros for a small piece of butter, chocolate sprinkles, and jam.... In my opinion, that is the wrong way to make money.

Beautiful spot in the woods. Unfortunately, the carpaccio salad consisted of hard pieces. A glass of tap water is charged on the bill as Chaudfontaine for €3.40😑 Due to a gluten allergy, we only asked for a small jam and chocolate sprinkles, and that was listed on the bill for €5.25 😲 Not worth repeating for us.

On Mother's Day, we enjoyed a lovely walk with the dog and had a delicious lunch on the nice terrace. Very dog-friendly, with even treats for them on the menu!

We had a reasonably nice lunch here. Pleasant terrace with friendly service. It is situated in a beautiful spot in the woods, with varied walking paths, partly along a heathland area, and with many benches. We found it surprising that the terrace was wonderfully sunny despite the many trees. Far away from traffic noise. Part of the terrace is behind glass and is therefore more sheltered.

The restaurant is located in the middle of a park, serving traditional Dutch lunch with sandwiches, toast, and soups. The place is very pleasant. I ordered a fish sandwich, it was delicious!

I have been to this place many times, but have never been so disappointed as today. Unfriendly service, sloppy and noisy. I did have a delicious lunch, though, but I was used to better in the past.

You can have a nice meal there. Ordered a cup of tea. It's just a shame that the cups are small. A bit more water or slightly larger tea glasses would be an improvement.

The Joe Mann Pavilion is a really lovely place. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly, making you feel welcome immediately. It is beautifully situated in the woods, which makes it extra cozy. Especially in the winter, it is really snug here, and at Christmas it is nicely decorated, creating a wonderful atmosphere. But in the summer, too, it is a perfect place to sit on the terrace. It is simply a top-notch spot.

A wonderfully welcoming and friendly Brabant forest restaurant. A nice, relaxed atmosphere; since the renovation a few years ago, the interior is smartly, modern, and yet very cozy – a top job 👍🏻 The staff is always very friendly to me, and the owner is a true Brabant host. The food is simply top-notch, delicious fried eggs and good soups! This is highly recommended for lunch. Dogs are very welcome here (also inside) and are treated as customers, so whether you like that might vary from person to person.

Perfect location for a drink after a walk in the woods

On March 8, 2026, after a lovely walk with the dog, we settled down on the terrace. The weather was just perfect; it was just before noon and not too busy yet. We received excellent service and a delicious meal (noon snack) with prompt and courteous service. A no-nonsense place with a good price-quality ratio, and hospitable to the owner and dog.

A cozy, bustling forest pavilion. The farmer's bun and croquettes with floor bread were delicious. The beef stew with fries was also delicious. It's exceptionally dog-friendly, so many people brought their dogs with them.

And yes, today, December 16th, I found myself standing in front of a closed gate again at 3:15 PM. Another 40 km drive for nothing. Yesterday, December 11th, about 15 of us stood in front of a closed gate at the Joe Mann Pavilion again in the morning. Fortunately, the Forest House was welcoming enough to welcome us. Today, November 26th, I found myself standing in front of a closed gate again at 10:15 AM, even though they should have been open at 9:30 AM. Luckily, the Forest House was open. Today, after a 18 km drive, I found myself standing in front of a closed gate before 5:00 PM for the third time in two weeks, even though the official opening time is until 6:00 PM. Very unfriendly to close so early. Today, February 24th, we stood in front of a closed gate again at 10:15 AM for the umpteenth time. No one answered the phone either. Fortunately, the nearby Forest House was open.

Delicious food and fast service! The 12-hour fish menu is highly recommended!

Nice and beautiful walks to take

Seriously, folks...we held a tasting at six forest houses around Eindhoven and JoeMann has the tastiest chicken nachos ever...just the right amount of sauce, chicken, and heat, the taste is fantastic.

I couldn't get past the door before being yelled at for being full. The road was icy. No salt had been spread. Dogs were wandering around in the dining area. Cars couldn't make it over the bump because of the icy conditions.

This super cute little place is nestled in the woods near the Joe Mann Theater. Unfortunately, it's not very spacious inside, so seating is limited when it's busy. The outdoor patio offers more seating, and it's often crowded in the summer. They also cater to four-legged friends, with special canine snacks and water bowls available. The loaded fries are highly recommended! There are also many other delicious options on the menu, including some good beers. The last two times I was there, I unfortunately had to turn back because it was so busy and full, but hopefully not next time! :)

Food is great, not cheap but certainly great, location is also great in the woods, only service is way below par, soup and eggs served at the same time, never had that before and we said something about it, they thought it was strange and when we left they didn't even say goodbye but chat with each other more important

After the fire that destroyed the entire building and unfortunately caused it to be closed for a year, it has been beautifully restored. After a walk in the lovely wooded surroundings, you can sit down here for a drink and/or something to eat. There is plenty of room inside for a number of people, and in good weather, you can also sit on the large terrace. Dogs are always welcome, both inside and outside.

This place is located in woods, very nice spot if you are biking or hiking. We visited on a very busy day and service was still quick and food was nice.

The pavilion is the perfect woodland café. It has a lovely interior and a beautiful, spacious terrace. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The lunch menu (they don't serve dinner) is good and quite extensive. The pastrami sandwich is a winner. There's a wide selection for beer lovers. The prices are a bit high, but the atmosphere, quality, and friendliness more than make up for it.

Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. We just arrived from the airport and decided to have breakfast/lunch here. The 12-hour snack was delicious, with delicious brown bread too. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area again.

We were here after a short hike in the woods. The place was busy, there was not anyone to help with the table. After waiting for about 15 min we called a waitress to order. Food was quick. Food was decent, big portions and tasted ok. We asked for dessert options, we were told they have two tarts and ijs, and when asked what ijs is, it’s something very cold and fruits and nuts. It was a ball of frozen sugar and one the side butterscotch crystals!! Was very disappointed because that’s not what was told it is.

After waiting fifteen minutes, no one from the staff had yet come to our table to take our order. Meanwhile, the owner, wearing a football shirt, was standing behind the bar. He and another staff member were busy watching videos on their phones. They were chatting loudly and eating, completely ignoring us. After watching this for 15 minutes, we decided to get up and leave without ordering anything. A real shame, because the location is otherwise beautiful.

I waited 25 minutes to order food... I signaled, waved, and called out... The restaurant wasn't even full. At one point, I just walked in to order... Then waited another 35 minutes for the food to arrive... I ordered vegetarian croquettes and veggie nachos. Both contained meat... When I pointed this out, she didn't believe me. Then I showed her. No fear, no apology either... She did, however, change the dish, so I had to pay more. Delicious! 😂 Oh yeah, and the hot chocolate was lukewarm... Lots of cute dogs, though😍

The service was incredibly slow — we felt ignored for about 15 minutes. We eventually had to wave down the waitress just to get noticed, which felt awkward and almost rude. It’s a shame, because the atmosphere and setting are really lovely. Unfortunately, the lack of attentive service made the experience disappointing. Otherwise, I’d say it’s better to try somewhere else.

I arrived at Joe Mann Pavilion half an hour before closing time and tried to order a coffee. It was refused because a wedding was scheduled to take place later. An hour later, there was still no wedding, only a few farmers who were allowed to drink, but not us. This felt disrespectful and unfriendly. Absolutely not a welcoming experience.

Ik stond vandaag voor de 3e keer in twee weken al vóór 5 uur voor een gesloten deur, terwijl de officiële openingstijd tot 18:00 is. Vandaag was de poort al vóór 16:45 gesloten. Ik vind dit zéér klant-ontvriendelijk. Ik woon op 18 kilometer afstand. Deze afstand rijd ik niet graag voor niets.

2 meiden in de bediening op een doordeweekse middag. Kostte veel moeite vriendelijk te zijn bij het opnemen van de bestelling en het brengen daarvan. Nadat een glas gesneuveld was kreeg ik bezem en stoffer en blik om het zelf op te ruimen (door honden glas gevallen). Ik snap het wel alhoewel het niet echt getuigt van goede service maar de zuurheid droop van de medewerkster af. Niet echt behoefte daar naar terug te gaan.

Mijn moeder komt hier bijna wekelijks lunchen met vriendinnen. Voor Moederdag leek het mij dan ook heel leuk haar te trakteren op een lunch daar. Ik woon zelf in het buitenland dus de cadeaubon zelf ophalen word lastig. Ik belde om te vragen wat de opties waren voor het eventueel online bestellen van een cadeaubon of overboeking vooraf. Dat is niet mogelijk helaas. Dat kan en is geen enkel probleem, nee is ook een antwoord natuurlijk. Maar de manier waarop ik telefonisch te woord werd gestaan en weggedrukt is buitenproportioneel. Wellicht is het druk in de zaak, ik kan niet aan de andere kant van de lijn kijken. Maar geef dat dan aan dan bel ik op een later moment terug. Nu werd ik door meneer op een vijandige toon aangesproken en zonder pardon werd de verbinding verbroken. Zeker een punt van verbetering voor deze zaak om ondanks wat er speelt wat meer de rust te bewaren en de klantvriendelijkheid te bewaken.

Very beautiful (party) location. Wonderful in the woods, with the disadvantage that when you leave in the dark, you can't see a stitch. The telephone lamp should provide relief when looking for your transportation. Very friendly service and nice and tasty snacks. Top!

I read that expectations from other customers are too high. If you are looking for a star restaurant? Then drive a bit further. And the young staff Not good enough? Give the youth that great opportunity to learn the trade Everyone should... The surroundings are beautiful, just like the restaurant and staff.

It's been a while since I've been to Joe Mann Pavilion, but luckily some things have remained unchanged. The location remains beautiful, surrounded by greenery, and the atmosphere is still relaxed and inviting. There is also little to complain about the food – the quality is good and the menu offers something for everyone. What is unfortunately less positive is the service. Although the staff seems friendly, they clearly lack experience in the catering industry. Orders are messy, there is little attention for the guests and the feeling of hospitality that such a location should radiate is not there. It is a pity that this aspect, which is so decisive for the overall experience, is left behind. Joe Mann Pavilion has all the ingredients for a top experience, but the team's catering experience really deserves attention. Hopefully this will be addressed in the future, because the location deserves better.

After waiting at a table for more than 15 minutes, we saw that 2 more tables came in after us. They immediately received a lunch menu and drinks and we were still waiting to be helped at all. No service.

Service really that bad! Waiting, waiting and waiting again for a cup of cappuccino! Pass twice after waiting fifteen minutes. How difficult can it be. In the end they come twice with cappuccino. And this isn't the first time the service has been bad.

The staff themselves were disturbingly noisy with discussions/comments to each other that were of no use to customers

We thought nice coffee and cake. Unfortunately, you will be disappointed if you see the full baked display case upon entering. Everything was still frozen so we could only look at it. 🙈 Fortunately the coffee tasted good. Although the view was dramatic. The most filthy umbrellas you can think of were the view. You really don't want to sit outside under that when the weather is nice. 🤮

A cool monument to commemerate a war hero who gave up his life by throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his 6 buddies. Big celebration in September to relive the history. Nice lodge serving good food/drinks. Ideally located on the walking trails around the forest in Best - near Eindhoven!

Today after a walk in the woods I wanted to come and have dinner with my girlfriend, I stood inside the bar for a few minutes, unfortunately I was knocked over by the staff but I was not spoken to, we will not come here anymore

Sympathetic spot hidden in the forest near Best. Spontaneous and friendly people, good beer list, tasty sandwiches, pastries and snacks make you want to stay longer than you actually intended. Maybe prune the trees a little more to get some more sun on the terrace?
