Jo's IJssalon in Wijk 00 Reuver

I always loved going there, with the emphasis on "came." Although I didn't consciously avoid the ice cream parlor, I notice I haven't been there yet this past season. And it's already mid-July. Eating ice cream is an experience, and that experience has become much less so now that the terrace is gone. It's not inviting to eat an ice cream on a bench, so I've regularly crossed the ferry to eat one on a terrace... which I actually find a shame, because I do wish the owners success. I hope for their sake that running their ice cream parlor was a good choice, but I'm really looking for more of an experience than just a sundae from a plastic cup. Sorry.

We thought we would eat an ice cream on the terrace after a bike ride. No terrace, but an ice cream from the door. This is over for us!!!!

Today I had a scoop of ice cream, yes, I had one. Outrageous for that price, you would expect a scoop of ice cream. Then back to Het Droomijsje at the ferry in Reuver, where you get value for money and it tastes even better! Sorry Jo's ice cream parlor!

Wanted an ice cream sundae, you get soft ice cream in a cup. I think an ice cream sundae really consists of different scoops of ice cream with e.g. fruit, nuts, whipped cream. Much too expensive. Better drive around for a really tasty and better sundae.

They could better call it an ice cream counter now instead of an ice cream parlor. All the atmosphere of the past is gone. No more beautifully served ice cream sundaes, no more table service. Everything is now only focused on take-away and there are only a few seats. That is a shame because the ice cream was always delicious. But now we unfortunately go to competitors where you can eat a nice ice cream sundae on the spot. Hopefully they will come back to this again.

Too bad, too bad and too bad, too few seats. Nothing but praise for the taste and assortment, but we are still looking for the possibility for more ice cream experience with regard to consuming in a nice atmosphere and not having the feeling of getting ice cream at a takeaway counter.

We wanted to have a nice ice cream today We were so disappointed when we found out that there was no longer a terrace. You can still order an ice cream or coupe in a plastic cup inside and sit outside on a bench. It will cost Jo's ice cream parlor a lot of customers. Next time we'll go to Clevers.

Unfortunately, the atmosphere has changed in the ice cream parlor. Where you used to be able to sit comfortably on the terrace, that has now disappeared. Only a small part of the ice cream parlor is now used, and fortunately it looks very neat and tidy. The choice of ice cream is still enormous, and you can now even buy chocolates there. An ice cream sundae is still available, but instead of an elegant glass it is now served in a paper cup. Fortunately, there is sufficient choice of different cuts, but it is a pity that there are no examples to make it more visually attractive. Inside there are only three tables available, and there you sit very close together, with only room for three people per table. You really have the feeling that you are sitting at the table with your neighbor. The cozy feeling of eating an ice cream together has unfortunately been somewhat lost. The charm of the ice cream parlor is no longer what it used to be. It is now mainly functional, but for those who like atmosphere, this is a missed opportunity.

What a huge decline. Come from the beginning. Floor dirty inside. Three employees with their arms folded behind the counter. Weeds everywhere on the patio. Where are the cozy tables from the past? No napkins with your ice cream. Very sorry !!

Delicious ice cream, nice service. But 4 stars have been deducted because people still smoke on the terrace. In a place where so many children come, this is unusual these days. If you want to eat ice cream, you sit in that nasty smoke. Pity.

Today I got ice cream for the first time and nothing can be said about the taste, but I am certainly not happy with the quantity and price. The coupe was only 3/4 full with seriously 6 pieces of strawberry and that for 10 euros. The nut coupe contained no nuts but only chopped hazelnuts and this too was 10 euros. You have become a lot more expensive and the quantities have become less. No longer affordable for an average family.

We hadden coupe Sunrise. Er zat maar 1 bolletje vanille-ijs in deze was één en al ijskristal. Er ontbrak sinaasappel ijs en een stukje verse sinaasappel. Bij het melden werd er niks mee gedaan. Was echt een tegenvaller voor ons beiden.

Zojuist bij Jo,s ijs gaan eten en het ijs was erg lekker. Echter geef ik deze ijstent maar 2 sterren. Wij hebben namelijk 1 uur en een kwartier moeten wachten op ons ijs. Hopelijk is de ervaring bij andere beter met minder wacht tijd.

Leuke locatie, vriendelijk en hartelijk personeel en last but not least: overheerlijk ijs! Veel keuze wat betreft ijssoorten en smaken!
