Although it was very comfortable to sit there and the machos were fine, the service was very slow; no one took the initiative to ask if we wanted anything else, we had to ask ourselves every time to order more, a friend of mine had to wait a very long time for his whisky, and incidentally, they asked about it twice and my drink even arrived earlier! So, I had very bad service, yet I would still recommend sitting here.

We had a delicious meal here today; the chicken skewer is very tasty. We will come here more often when we are in Apeldoorn. Highly recommended for a cozy evening. Great, and thank you.

Received very friendly service from the lady. She knows what she's doing, she arrives at the right moment. I love that. The lunch sandwiches were standard, but fine and generously filled. Exactly what you want during lunch while walking through the city. But putting Red Bull and Stelz on the menu? Know who you are and what you want to be… I hope you don't want to be a trashy bar, so take it off the menu. Then you have 'Hangende Harry' on the menu, but not its tastier sister, Disco Daisy. That would be a nice addition, but I don't hold it against you.

It is a nice place, but if you want to order something, you have to wait about 30 minutes for someone to come to you, and if you order coffee, you also have to wait half an hour. Absolutely fantastic! Due to my partner's extensive list of allergies, it isn't always possible to just grab a nice bite to eat out. The wait staff and kitchen were very attentive and helpful regarding what she could eat. A delicious chicken and pesto salad was served that fit her diet perfectly. Other restaurants often serve a simple plate of lettuce with a few vegetables, but this was a truly delicious salad. She had a really tasty meal out for the first time in a long time. By the way, all the other food was also very tasty!

The food was very bland but also really on the meager side. The vitello tonnato contained only 5 slices, a tablespoon of lettuce, 1 asparagus, and some tuna mayonnaise. The taste was very bland. The mixed grill was very meager. Not even 60 grams of steak on a skewer, about 70 grams of sirloin (very tough), and a tender piece of beef tenderloin. But even this was about 100 grams. About 2 mushrooms, 2 slices of zucchini, and 3 slices of eggplant on the side. In short, it was a lot of money for very meager food that was also very bland.

My wife and I asked a staff member if we could grab a bite to eat; that was possible, and we sat down. After fifteen minutes, no one from the wait staff had appeared, not even after our attempts to make contact; they were mainly chatting amongst themselves and practicing looking around and through us. We went to eat at another establishment, and that went excellently. I cannot say anything serious about the food at Jules, as we didn't get around to it. 4 stars, because otherwise the review won't go through.

Had a nice meal in the sunshine. We were able to share the fried egg sandwich another day. The other sandwiches were with brie. Mine was with salmon and melted cheddar cheese. The food is definitely tasty. The waitresses are friendly. And you are sitting in a nice spot.

It was a cozy place where you can have a nice chat and enjoy a drink. The food was okay, but don't expect too much from it. In terms of price-quality ratio, I found it too expensive, but that's probably because it's in the city, and everything is always expensive there. What a disappointment this was!!! It looks cozy and atmospheric, but the food is terrible! After waiting an hour for our main course, we were served almost cold lasagna and cold, dry sole. (Comparable to a ready-made microwave meal from the supermarket) I have rarely eaten so badly in a 'restaurant'. Definitely a place NEVER to return to! Another tip for the owner: make sure your staff looks presentable and not in (too short) Adidas track shorts and unironed, dirty t-shirts.

The lunch beef tenderloin tips were very tough, not or barely seasoned, with a green mush on top that didn't match the taste, the flatbread was baked too hard instead of a pistolet, and there were few vegetables... previously, before you changed this, it was really tasty, but now I left it untouched and the beef tenderloin, in our opinion, couldn't possibly be beef tenderloin, it was so tough with fat edges... you changed the hamburger too, almost no taste and not firm, fell apart as soon as I cut it, the toppings were changed too, no more chilies, cheese tasteless, no tomato and onions nowhere to be found, bread was very dry and tasteless, not even grilled, one limp bite. There were plenty of fries but seasoned way too salty: We came for a nice, cozy dining experience but what a disappointing experience, what a shame!

We had a family outing here; it is a nice restaurant in itself, where you can also enjoy drinks. We had a dinner (murder mystery) game here. This was reserved separately from the food. The service was reasonably fast, but given that it was a Saturday, it was very busy and things were sometimes forgotten. We received a 3-course menu, for which we had a choice of 3 courses for the starter and main course (meat, fish, or vegetarian). We personally felt that the portions were very meager. For the main course, most of us had sirloin steak; the portion size varied enormously for everyone. One person had a super small piece, another a large one. The proportions really didn't make sense. The dessert was also on the small side. The main course did not come with salad, fries, or anything else. This had to be ordered separately and was charged extra. In summary: the menu was very meager. And it certainly didn't leave you feeling full. The food was tasty. But also very expensive. We certainly wouldn't do this again. Unfortunately.

We had dinner at Jurven last Friday with a friend. We ordered a goat cheese salad, but it was very disappointing. When you go out to eat at a restaurant, you expect something more luxurious, special, and prepared with care. What we received looked more like a simple salad from the supermarket, with some dates and goat cheese on top. The salad was very dry and there was only a tiny bit of honey with it. This was really not what we had expected. Honestly, we often eat better than this at home. For the money we paid, we found this very unfortunate and disappointing. We have eaten other dishes here before and they were always good and tasty, which is why this experience was particularly disappointing.

We ordered 2 teas, 1 apple pie, and a toasted sandwich. The tea and apple pie arrived very quickly. The apple pie was a 6 out of 10 (the crust was undercooked). The service was friendly in itself, but after 30 minutes the toasted sandwich still hadn't arrived. The waitress said: "It's on the grill, so it's coming any moment." 15 minutes later, we decided to pay for the tea and pie and leave. And in the 45 minutes we sat there, we saw people sitting at a table later on getting fried eggs and salads...

Mixed Grill was really disappointing. For this price, I really expect better prepared food (actually grilled meat/vegetables) and just more. If you want to eat somewhere nice, you'd better go somewhere else, or at least don't order the Mixed Gierig here.

The food was served very quickly for a 5-course set menu! Very tasty. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy a nice meal out.

We ordered, among other things, tomato soup with basil pesto for €7.75. The soup was lukewarm and the basil pesto was missing. When we pointed this out, the response from someone in the kitchen was: "There are no robots in the kitchen, only people." The soup was taken back and came back nice and hot, with the pesto, but in a smaller quantity. No apology.

The food was served cold (Mixgrill) and upon return it was tough and not tasty (just put it in the oven for a quick chat). Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the meal and left well over half of it. I also complained to two different employees, but apart from a drink, there was no compensation whatsoever on the bill. Bad experience, and I don't like writing bad reviews, what a shame!

At 5:15 PM, we were given a table inside. First impression was good! However, the starter and main course were already on the table within 30 minutes. Eating in peace is not an option; everything is rushed through. The main course was cold, so we sent it back, and then we were given a shoe sole in return. We pointed out twice that it was not right. Waited a very long time for the food. We also had the feeling that our table had been crammed in somewhere. One moment someone was fishing the menus out from behind us, and the next a power bank was being connected for a customer by three staff members, who was standing over our plate, panting and watching. The food was inconsistent. Some of it was good, some of it wasn't. Waited 30 minutes for dessert. Eventually asked if it was still coming. It turned out to be one bite of tiramisu that wasn't tiramisu and one scoop of ice cream. Tasty in itself, but looked boring without any presentation on the plate. I don't understand why we had to wait so long for this..

Cozy restaurant, delicious food and drinks, and a nice atmosphere. Super sweet staff. My son is autistic and has an intellectual disability. Every weekend he goes to Jules Verne to drink a Latte Macchiato. He knows everyone on the staff by now, and even when it is busy, they are always very nice to him. Sometimes I go for lunch with him; the food is very tasty, and there is a wide selection. Highly recommended in the center of Apeldoorn!

To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we chose the monthly menu. The food was delicious and prepared with great taste. It was quite busy, so the staff sometimes didn't pay enough attention to the guests; that was a shame.

As very loyal guests of Jules Verne, we wanted to take advantage of the anniversary offer. We reserved a table for two. Upon arrival, we were greeted and directed to a small, low round table somewhere in the corner of the bar by Mr. Adnan. We indicated that if that was the table we were going to take, we were leaving. Mr. Adnan was immediately curt, saying, "Well, then you're leaving." Upon leaving, I may have closed the door a bit too forcefully, at which point Mr. Adnan rushed out to tell us to behave normally. I tried to explain to Mr. Adnan that we'd been loyal guests for 20 years, coming every month and even weekly for lunch during the summer months. The only response we got from Mr. Adnan was that he'd been coming for 25 years and that we were told outright that we could leave and never have to return. This is how Jules Verne treats his loyal guests. When Mr. Adnan's stress becomes too much when it is very busy, hospitality is hard to come by.

The social media marketing was great, but in reality, it was a huge disappointment. Five courses, two of which were incredibly bad, and the other three were small and barely passed. In short, I have no reason to eat here again.

Had lunch here, tasty sandwich, less than delicious tea, as there was mold on the ginger. After reporting this privately at the bar, nothing was done about it. A few nasty looks, but no apologies, and they didn't even offer me a new tea. I also had to pay the entire bill, including the moldy tea. Such a shame.

The food itself was good, but apparently we couldn't sit smoke-free inside either because the door to the terrace was kept open. When we asked the staff, the door closed briefly, but they reopened it shortly after. Staff at the bar (two young girls) are joking with the bartender (young boy), without clearing tables. Ultimately, we put signs aside as a signal. Didn't help much. One very friendly girl, hence 2 stars for the service. Fries with the (well-dressed!) hamburger were very salty, so in retrospect it was a good thing that the fries were not served for general use. However, we saw afterwards that they had been paid, even though we had indicated that the fries had not arrived. And the vegetables (eggplants especially!) were saturated with oil. So very fat. It was therefore very disappointing in terms of quality, especially considering the price and service.

In this case, the cappuccino is absolutely not cappuccino. It was weak with far too much milk and a huge layer of foam. You have to search for the coffee. A second cup, after I pointed out that the coffee was very weak, was regular coffee with another huge layer of foam. Too bad. The terrace is cozy and warm, though. Not smoke-free.

I often eat at Jules Verne. Last night's food was delicious, as always, but the service was catastrophic for the first time. There are so many young people there, and unfortunately, they don't know anything about gastronomy. I ordered water three times, and it was forgotten, and then they served a beer with a hair in it. We ate here on Sunday, September 28th. We ordered a bread board beforehand, which was fine. We ordered carpaccio beforehand, but our main course arrived suddenly. They took it back with them and gave us the carpaccio. The carpaccio was delicious and beautifully presented. Afterward, we had a beef steak and a ribeye. The ribeye was so tough and full of fat that it was inedible. We immediately reported it to the staff, and they immediately gave us a new one. The ribeye was in garlic jus and was very flavorless. The new ribeye wasn't great either, but we ate it. There was no point in mentioning it again; the meat is simply poor quality. My wife had a steak that was flavorless and not good meat. They should take the ribeye off the menu. After the main course, we wanted dessert, but it took so long to arrive that we decided to pay. The price/quality ratio is subpar. We will never go here again. The tall waiter really deserves a compliment; he knows his trade.

The spicy chicken sandwich wasn't spicy, but you did get a lot of chicken. After lunch, I had to go to the restroom. Inside, I was stuck to the floor. With sticky soles, I had to climb a few flights of stairs to get to the restroom. It was even dirtier there. And then you can't wash your hands because of a broken faucet. I quickly left the place with sticky feet. If I had been in earlier, I wouldn't have even ordered lunch here. Hygiene is really lacking. Hopefully, the kitchen is cleaner.

My companions' bellies were rumbling when we arrived, so the bread and dip arrived promptly. This was a tasty twist on the classic "bread and dip." The bread was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and luxurious all around thanks to the addition of tomato and cheese. While many restaurants require you to carefully and carefully start with the rather sad little container of herb butter, there was dip in abundance. We had to get our own food menus after asking for them. Horrible experience plus there's better food and service right next door.

I had a carpaccio salad with truffle mayonnaise. It was one dry mouthful. It was literally just a lot of lettuce with a few slices of carpaccio and a little truffle mayonnaise. No tomatoes, onions, or other oils. No oil or salt and pepper on the table. The weather was beautiful and we sat on the patio, but we were surrounded by people lighting one cigarette after another. So, all in all, not a pleasant experience.
