After trying the burger here, I felt a happier person. The staff is phenomenal. I will definitely be back and absolutely worth trying!

We had a delicious meal in a very nice, busy restaurant. It was a bit of a shame that a young man was shouting at his colleagues throughout the restaurant, while the woman in question was working hard and was very friendly.

The girls all walk around with their hair loose, very unhygienic.

As soon as we entered, we were placed in a corner, where we had to wait 20 minutes to order drinks, and the same for our food. In my opinion, the service was simply terrible. Some staff members simply sat at a table to order a beer and chat while working. So, overall, not a direct recommendation.

At first glance, the restaurant seemed great and had a great atmosphere, but after being seated, we had to wait 20 minutes to order our first drink. The price-quality ratio was poor. We were also very dissatisfied with the service. The steak was tough, and the speculoos cheesecake tasted awful. This is not recommended if you're looking for a casual meal.

I often eat at Jules Verne. Last night's food was delicious, as always, but the service was catastrophic for the first time. There are so many young people there, and unfortunately, they don't know anything about gastronomy. I ordered water three times, and it was forgotten, and then they served a beer with a hair in it. What a shame. Hopefully, it will be better next time!

We had a brie sandwich today. They forgot the walnuts. We did get them after we mentioned them. The brie and the honey tasted exactly the same, like nothing at all. Very disappointing. When we went to pay, we were ignored by many staff members; after a long wait, they finally wanted our money.

We ate here on Sunday, September 28th. We ordered a bread board beforehand, which was fine. We ordered carpaccio beforehand, but our main course arrived suddenly. They took it back with them and gave us the carpaccio. The carpaccio was delicious and beautifully presented. Afterward, we had a beef steak and a ribeye. The ribeye was so tough and full of fat that it was inedible. We immediately reported it to the staff, and they immediately gave us a new one. The ribeye was in garlic jus and was very flavorless. The new ribeye wasn't great either, but we ate it. There was no point in mentioning it again; the meat is simply poor quality. My wife had a steak that was flavorless and not good meat. They should take the ribeye off the menu. After the main course, we wanted dessert, but it took so long to arrive that we decided to pay. The price/quality ratio is subpar. We will never go here again. The tall waiter really deserves a compliment; he knows his trade.

We had a wonderful meal, it's simply a top-notch place! The only thing was that there was some renovation work going on nearby, so it was a bit noisy, but that's only temporary, of course.

The patio was packed, but the atmosphere was good. The food was on the table within 5 minutes. They're even faster than McDonald's. The food was perfectly fine. The spicy chicken sandwich wasn't spicy, but you did get a lot of chicken. After lunch, I had to go to the restroom. Inside, I was stuck to the floor. With sticky soles, I had to climb a few flights of stairs to get to the restroom. It was even dirtier there. And then you can't wash your hands because of a broken faucet. I quickly left the place with sticky feet. If I had been in earlier, I wouldn't have even ordered lunch here. Hygiene is really lacking. Hopefully, the kitchen is cleaner.

We had a surprising meal at Jules Verne! A cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. The 5-course monthly menu was delicious. The standout: the red mullet! The shrimp cocktail was a bit disappointing, both in terms of the shrimp selection and the bland flavor. The leek soup was perhaps a bit too sweet, but that's a matter of taste. The main courses, both the sirloin steak and the sea bass, were very tasty. The dessert, the apple and pear tart with a cinnamon parfait, was a lovely ending. A great dinner for the price!

The food was delicious, but the next day I discovered that the scallop did not sit well in my stomach.

Service on the patio took a very long time. Several people came outside but then turned around and didn't come back onto the patio, resulting in a long wait. The cappuccino wasn't good, and the coffee was weak and watery. Once ordered, it was brought to the table quickly.

The location in the center of Apeldoorn is beautiful. We made a reservation just in case, and they even had a nice spot by the window for us inside. We ended up sitting on the terrace because of the lovely late summer weather, which certainly helped! We had duck breast and caprese tart as a starter, fish tasting and mixed grill for dinner, and chocolate cheesecake and espresso for dessert. Everything was delicious! The service, mostly young staff, was very pleasant and helpful! We had a wonderful Sunday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it.

My companions' bellies were rumbling when we arrived, so the bread and dip arrived promptly. This was a tasty twist on the classic "bread and dip." The bread was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and luxurious all around thanks to the addition of tomato and cheese. While many restaurants require you to carefully and carefully start with the rather sad little container of herb butter, there was dip in abundance. Next, I had a creamy bell pepper soup that I would have loved to order by the gallon to freeze at home. Honestly: this soup redefined the meaning of "delicious." And although I was actually quite full after the main course, I still wanted to stretch my stomach for the chocolate cheesecake—and it was a good choice for my taste buds. Service was horribly slow and the carpaccio was the worst I've ever had. The sandwich with hot chicken was okay. We waited for 40 minutes for our drinks after multiple reminders. We had to get our own food menus after asking for them. Horrible experience plus there's better food and service right next door.

I had a carpaccio salad with truffle mayonnaise. It was one dry mouthful. It was literally just a lot of lettuce with a few slices of carpaccio and a little truffle mayonnaise. No tomatoes, onions, or other oils. No oil or salt and pepper on the table. The weather was beautiful and we sat on the patio, but we were surrounded by people lighting one cigarette after another. So, all in all, not a pleasant experience.

Had a nice lunch with friends, actually wanted a skûmkoppe, but there were problems changing the barrel, but that didn't spoil the fun, so I ordered a hanging harry (also delicious by the way) and had a nice meal.

I had lunch with my son yesterday. The atmosphere on the terrace was great, and the food looked delicious. I chose brown bread, but unfortunately, I got two slices of white bread, one of which was so hard a knife could barely cut through. That was a disappointment.

Juleo Verne is a beautiful venue in Apeldoorn with a charming and inviting terrace where you can relax. The service was truly excellent: friendly, attentive, and clearly knowledgeable about food and drink. We felt welcome and well-supported throughout the evening. A major plus was the kitchen's flexibility. Although the tournedos with pepper cream sauce wasn't on the menu, they were able to prepare it without any problems – great service! However, the quality of the meat was slightly lower than expected; the dish wasn't at the right temperature, and I've had better tournedos. That was a shame, especially considering the rest of the experience. Fortunately, the dessert made up for it – a delicious dessert that ended the evening on a positive note. All in all, a lovely place with friendly staff and a beautiful ambiance. With a little more attention to the cooking temperature of the main course, it would have been a top-notch experience.

We ate inside, because there was a lot of smoking on the outside terrace. Service was downright bad. Not matching the delicious food. Far too little asked for extra drinks, not even one empty glass taken away, not interested and very messy. Too bad

Food: Good choice of food and drinks, the food is tasty and when we were there on Thursday afternoon for lunch we got both our drinks and our food very quickly. I had the brie/salami toastie and my friends had brie sandwiches and a carpaccio sandwich, which they were also very happy with. It is a good amount of food. Only a bit of a shame that the hot chocolate is seasonal. Service: Friendly service, our dog was with us and a bowl of water was offered for him. They also checked in to see if everything was still to his liking. Ambience: The lights on the terrace are very cute. The chairs are comfortable and there is enough space between the tables. The star deduction is for the ashtrays that are literally on every table, which strongly encourages smoking on the terrace. As a non-smoker this can completely ruin the dining experience, because smokers smell very bad and that is unappetizing. I would almost deduct an extra star for that.

As if it were yesterday, March 8, 2025, we went to Apeldoorn actually to walk in the gardens of the Palace, but this cannot be separated from the indoor area and we thought that was a shame with such nice weather. That is why we walked from there to the center and ended up on the terrace at Jules Verne. It was a fight for a spot, because on such a nice sunny day there are several people waiting for a spot. We were lucky because I quickly saw a spot become available. Once you are seated, you actually don't get up anymore. On such a busy day the service is already slower and a bit rushed, but that did not spoil the fun. Beer, good company and sun, what more could you want? A drinks platter of course, and I ordered this one too. Deliciously diverse and as a surprise sweet olives (recommended). In short, we had a wonderful afternoon on the terrace at Jules Verne!

Nice staff who are up for a joke, relaxed atmosphere

Nice grand café, been a regular customer for years. Permanent staff is always very friendly with good service. Furthermore, the sandwiches are especially good. Very generous. That's also why we like to come. The only downside is that there is no soya or almond milk available. My wife likes to drink latte macchiato or cappuccino with vegetable milk. A silent hint for the future.

And my goodness the monthly menu of May 2025 was really delicious. The monthly menu is therefore highly recommended. May 3, 2025 With my starter (duck breast with asparagus) they forgot to add my asparagus. And with my main course (beef steak), the meat was cold on the inside. This was all resolved neatly. Even received a whole new piece of meat as it should be and perfectly cooked. The plates were beautifully presented and the flavors came together well. I thought the ladies toilet was dirty. And it was only 5:00 PM. Apparently they don't put any effort into that. The trash can was overflowing with paper towels, the floor had been cleaned I don't know how long ago and the toilet roll holder had a lot of dust on it. The stairs hadn't been vacuumed in a while either, or so it seemed. The counter where you check in was also very dusty. It's all a shame because it's quite a nice thing. It was quite a disappointment all in all. Hopefully you will do something with the points of interest, because then I would like to come back. R. Jansen

Very modern restaurant. Very friendly staff and a good atmosphere. The food had a good price/quality ratio. The mixed grill with 3 different types of beef was especially delicious!

I regularly eat at Jules Verne. Usually dinner. Today I had the 5 course dinner. This time I was a bit disappointed. Portions were quite small and the sirloin steak was very tough. Normally always delicious food. Maybe it was due to the hustle and bustle of the nice weather.

The food was fine, we were just unlucky with only smokers around us on the terrace, but mainly had two mistakes from the kitchen and had to wait longer for service than I was used to from them

We had to wait 45 minutes for someone to come to us, then they said we could order cocktails at 5 o'clock. This was not possible at 5 o'clock, but it was promised! Finally we had a glass of wine and when we were not asked for 30 minutes if we wanted to order anything, we finally asked for the bill and he just walked away without saying that he would take the receipt. We wanted to drink coffee on Queen's Day, but drinking coffee didn't happen. We waited almost 10 minutes for service. They were busy walking back and forth without paying attention to us. Not even a good morning could be said. That made us decide to get up without having had any coffee. There was no reaction at all to our departure. Apparently they don't need us as coffee drinkers. A really worthless bunch of staff walking around here. The owner should pay more attention to the staff, otherwise there will soon be a sign on the door (closed due to circumstances).
