Very poor service and rude waitress. We thought the water would be complimentary as a normal practice in a restaurant. But no one came over and told us we need to order by ourselves. If we knew we would order at the very beginning instead of until the dinner is finished. Tried to complain it to the waitress, she didn’t quite understand me as she has poor English but instead arguing with me. I was almost going to tell her she needs to kneel down to apologize to me but I am too civilized

Do not recommend. There are better (food and service) restaurants in the airport. The food was good but not too flavorful. The staff was not attentive. They did not check on me once and I had to ask another waiter to get them for the check. I was sat by a busy work manager table and the staff was constantly coughing. Additionally, no to go boxes so we left after the food...food waste reduction should be important to this restaurant.

Tempeh banh mi and bao buns were ok, the ladies at the takeout corner were nice but the bartender wasn’t very nice. One of them kept « throwing » the glass bottles super hard in recycling, breaking our ears. No allowed to eat from takeout menu at the bar/lounge area which was completely empty, made no sense.

The ambience is very nice - especially for airport restaurant. We were very happy with food, it looked simple but the flavors were great! It is slightly on costlier side but if you want something with flavors and maybe healthier - not just some sandwiches, this is solid place to eat ✨

Never faced this kind of rude staff behaviour so far. I waited at the reception and one of the staff member let me in and asked me to be seated. I walked to the table and was keeping my things while another staff member came over and questioned me “Don’t you know you need to wait for you to be seated?” I clearly told her; I did wait at the reception and one of her colleague let me in. That’s when her tone changed and she says “Oh but this is my area😳” I’m like whatttt? I had to tell her straight to face that it is very rude and harsh to treat customers this way. She responded back saying I was rude!! There was a third staff member who sensed the situation and was kind enough to ask me what’s going on. However, with the pathetic treatment of her colleague I had to tell her sorry this is highly disappointing to be treated this way while someone walks so long crossing all the airport gates to have some good food seated in a restaurant 😒 She understood what’s going on but I believe she didn’t have the authority to question or stop her colleague’s ridiculous behaviour :( I literally had tears because I was dead tired and expected to have some hot food there! They didn’t even let me be seated! The lady who handled me made sure she didn’t let me sit😣. Not sure what she gained out of this :( I told the kind staff member you guys should handle your fights within yourself and not affect customers :( highly unprofessional treatment. I sincerely hope your management checks the behaviour of this particular staff and treat this matter. Very upsetting even after an hour to think of the way I was treated :(

My wife and I had a 3.25 hour layover in Amsterdam's Schipol airport on our way home to Manchester after a short 3 day break in Dubrovnik. Despite being a very large modern airport, although there were numerous fast food concessions, there were surprisingly very few restaurants that served fresh cooked food to order in Lounge 2 - the Kebaya Asian Brasserie was the only restaurant we found that did! The airport and restaurant wasn't too busy on a Wednesday afternoon so we were seated immediately in the very stylish restaurant with an open kitchen. There were some very good Asian food options on the menu but the prices were horrendously high even for an airport restaurant! However, as we didn't fancy eating at McDonalds or any of the other fast food outlets we had to begrudgingly pay their extortionate prices. My wife had the Malay Chicken Satay (2pcs with a peanut sauce) and I had the Ebi Tempura (3pcs crispy panko fried shrimps with wasabi mayonnaise and sweet chilli sauce as our starters. She had the Redang satay beef stew with boiled rice and I had the Yaki Udon (Japanese Udon noodle dish, served with chicken and mixed vegetables) as our main courses. My wife had 2 bottles of Tsing Tao beer and I had a cuppa jasmine tea. The total bill was a whopping 119€, however, all the food was very tasty with genuine Asian flavours with the satay sauce being the star of the show, closely followed by the Yaki Udon & Redang beef.

Prices have gone up a lot compared to before. I ordered the poke with some worry because there were many reviews saying it wasn't tasty, but it was better than I expected. It was fine after adding soy sauce. As for the price... well, even considering it's an airport, 5 euros for a 200ml Coke is a bit much... I ordered a Chardonnay, but it seemed like it had been open for a while, which was disappointing. The atmosphere is nice for relaxing, but there are no power outlets. These days, even in Europe, a tip screen is displayed when you pay, but please don't tip, even if it is inconvenient. Leave the tipping culture to the US; saying thank you is enough.

In particular, two members of staff (Annie and Alice, if I have spelled their names correctly) did not appear to be welcoming towards Asian customers, which felt rather ironic given that the restaurant specialises in Asian cuisine. After placing our order, my friends and I waited for quite some time, yet nothing was served. We eventually approached the staff for assistance, but two members of staff were occupied with their phones and appeared to ignore us, despite multiple attempts to make eye contact. After a prolonged wait with no response, we decided to leave, as no one seemed willing to assist us. At that point, the staff approached us in a rather blunt tone, asking why we were leaving without paying, as we had already placed an order. We explained our reasons, but were told that if they had not heard us, we should have come to the counter to speak to them. We did not expect five-star service in an airport setting; however, we do expect a basic level of attentiveness and courtesy, such as checking on customers or communicating politely. It is concerning to consider how this situation might have affected individuals who are less confident in English, such as my family. Overall, this experience was disappointing and did not reflect the standard of hospitality one would expect.

Good to have a better experience from my previous visit. Waited quite a while to get a table as staff were dealing with customer complaint. The guy showing us to a table poured the water left by previous customers over the table to clean it. We waited a long time to get our food delivered to the table. Main courses coming out before appetisers. All three of us served at different times. This report would have been 1 * if it was not for the food. The food was great and a good selection. Been here before and never had a problem. The staff seemed totally overwhelmed.

While the restaurant looks modern and clean, the food didn’t match the presentation. The miso chicken ramen was quite bland and not worth the price. I was also disappointed that no water was served throughout my visit. The waitress wasn’t very attentive & only came round to give me a iPad to place my order. Before a long trip, we ate at Kebaya in Amsterdam Airport. For an airport restaurant, it's very modern and luxuriously furnished, with a great location offering a fantastic view of the runway from the windows. A waiter escorts you to your table and gives you a tablet to easily place your orders. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There were three of us, and we ordered two pasta dishes and one rice dish – all delicious. While the restaurant is a bit more expensive compared to snack bars or fast-food chains, it's definitely a place we'd recommend.

Then you have to wait 20 minutes for sushi. Friends, you don't have to cook anything. The problem isn't the wait. People are standing in line while the tables are empty and the staff is just chilling. 💰Absurd for what you pay. 6 mini slices of sashimi, 10 small pieces of sushi €32.50, and the menu says "Richly Filled," yes, with decorations. See photo. 🍽️ The food was fine, not good, not bad. However, considering the price, it's poor. 📋Overall, a suitable emergency solution if you don't want to go to McDonald's or another takeaway place at Schiphol.

It took a few minutes to be 'noticed' as we were waiting to be seated but in fairness, wd could see that the staff were busy serving tables, clearing plates and resetting place-settings etc. Ordering your food couldn't be any easier with using a tablet with all the choice of menu on (you pay at the end of the meal). Terrible service, no staff guiding seat at entrance. Unknowingly we push trolley inside to find seat, after we finally found seat. A middle age lady approach and remind our trolley is in the way and is not allow here. After saying she just walked away. We were in confuse is trolley not allow at the place we put or not allow in restaurant? The moment we step in, no staff remind or guide us, only warning we get and nothing. Out of tiredness we decided to take out everything in trolley and push the empty trolley outside since we really need to eat and rest. Bear in mind, we scan and order by our own. After a while another group came in with trolley, this time this same middle aged lady treat them differently. She advise them where to place the trolley and take their order in friendly manner. So I have a perception this restaurant treat customers in preference and they can act this way since it is the only Asian restaurant in airport.

I was delayed for a flight and received a voucher so I was looking for a place to sit down. I found Kebaya in the departures lounge. I bought a few items with my voucher (for 28 euros - note that the payment terminal forces you to work through a tipping section) from the very prominent displays and wanted to sit down at a table in a near empty restaurant. The response was “we can’t let you sit there sir”. And that was that. I gave back the food, received no refund and walked away. And no visible sign for anyone walking in that guests buying at the counter are not wanted in the seating area, only in the bar area. The young man behind the counter started apologizing but his manager took no mercy on me. No seating for the wicked! I do not want a corporate response to this post: the point is that an airport is transient by default. No one expects that food bought in an open plan walk in restaurant at Schiphol can’t be eaten in that same restaurant.

Best food I had in an airport in a while. We lost our connection so had some time to look for options. The reviews threw doubts but we decided to give it a try. ⭐ Rating: 2.5 / 5 I recently visited Kebaya Asian Brasserie after hearing mixed opinions, and unfortunately, my experience leaned toward the disappointing side. At first glance, the place looks quite nice — clean, neat, and well-maintained. Presentation-wise, the food also looked appealing and hygienic. However, the taste didn’t live up to the appearance. My dish arrived cold, and honestly, I don’t know who would enjoy eating cold rice and veggies that were supposed to be served warm. The rice was sticky, and although the vegetables on top had a decent flavor, the overall dish just didn’t work for me. Another downside was the service experience. The staff member at the counter wasn’t particularly friendly or welcoming. Interestingly, I did notice another staff member being quite polite and attentive to other customers, so it might depend on who you interact with. For the price point, I expected much better flavor and service. It’s definitely on the expensive side for what you get. While the place seems hygienic and well-kept, the food and customer experience didn’t justify the cost.

There didn’t seem to be much else around but this was fine. A nice cold beer and the noodle ramen wasn’t too bad. Not the most authentic meal but can’t complain about too much, it did the job.

The egg in the ramen was incredibly sour. I've never had eggs like this anywhere in the world. They say it's pickled eggs, but I spat it out as soon as I ate it, but my mother started vomiting as soon as she got on the plane. When I complained, the server said I was the only one who had complained that evening and never came back. Another male server apologized on my behalf and didn't charge me, but my mother got sick with food poisoning on the plane. After I complained, the person eating next to me said the same thing, and only then did they say they were checking with the kitchen.

Came here for breakfast and chose a menu via tablet. I picked coffee and an Asian omelette. The coffee was served immediately, but by the time the omelette arrived, it had become cold. The food is surprisingly good for an airport!

Whilst waiting for our flight, we had a late lunch at Kebaya. A lovely eatery and well worth a visit for some asain cuisine. Staff were all so friendly and helpful! Took time to explain how to order etc then took our meal and drinks order. A good variety of dishes and drinks on the menu to suit all tastes. Fast service for food and drinks. A lovely lunch and would recommend a visit.

Food was quite tasty, but portion is rather small for the price you paid. Well it's airport food so you can kind of expect the price, but giving just a bit more food/rice won't cost you that much also. I am quite small myself and I am also not a big eater, but I was still hungry finishing the meal. Service was not the nicest. My table was not properly cleaned or set up. I can still see pieces of food visibly on the table. When food was given to me, there was no napkin or cutlery accompanied. There was also none on my table. I had to get them myself elsewhere... Not once the waiter/waitress came over to check if everything was okay also. Probably one of the nice ones at the airport, but for the price you paid, it should have been way better, and it also costs the restaurant almost nothing just to give more rice in the pokebowl and set up tables properly in the future. Would I be coming back? Maybe not, unless there is no better option.

We’ve come here many times before. We arrived early in the morning so they did not have sushi available. The place next door did. My kids and I were going to order from Kebaya while my wife would eat the takeout sushi. They would not allow her to eat inside with us even though the rest of us ordered from the restaurant. I am all about rules, however, not when they make no sense. I get not allowing people to bring other food in if they are just trying to find a spot. But the rest of us were literally ordering from their restaurant. Always recommended this place in the past, never again.

The breakfast menu is available until 11 a.m., with three inexpensive dishes; otherwise, it's more expensive (typical for airports). I found the vegetarian noodles very tasty; the portions were modest but carefully selected. You order from a tray, and then the drinks arrived incorrectly. Overall, the wait wasn't long (about 20 minutes). Very tasty, only 4 stars because I think the €28.50 teriaki noodles are too expensive, and the service was okay.

I had a terrific experience at Kebaya on a not-busy Saturday morning. Service was quick and friendly. The quirky colorful modern decor is fun without being annoying. My ramen bowl was plenty large and filled with the usual goodness. Let’s be honest, food options at Schiphol are awful. Their current highest Google rated restaurant is a cheese store that is not even a restaurant. For me Kebaya easily wins my vote for the most delightful enjoyable cuisine between flights.
