Amazing food, friendly waiter, nice atmosphere, interesting decor. A great choice of dishes from many different African countries.

Very generous portions and delicious food made with fresh ingredients, not too expensive, and the service is very friendly and attentive. The portions are very substantial, and the pleasant music creates a nice, relaxed atmosphere. There was even a cat that wandered by.

This is an amazing place that I recommend to everyone! The food is amazing, very tasty and well prepared, the server was very polite and helpful. It’s super chill, great food, great atmosphere and I would recommend it to anyone who loves deep flavored food.

Came for the tea, stayed for the feast. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the prices were surprisingly kind to my wallet.🫡 The décor is pretty, the waitresses are absolute sweethearts, and the atmosphere made me want to linger a little longer. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food, and it definitely left me wanting more. Just make sure you arrive hungry, Ethiopian food has officially injera-ed its way into my heart.🫣

I wish I had pictures but unfortunately I ate their food too fast. It was one of the best places I ate on my visit to Amsterdam last October. The food was so good and the staff so very nice. Definitely wishing to go back one day.

It's delicious; it tastes like a thin version of steamed rice cake wrapped with various sauces and stewed meat.

Excellent, we absolutely loved this incredible cuisine. We ordered the mixed platter which allowed us to try everything, and we were blown away by how delicious it all was. One of us isn't usually a fan of spicy food, yet he ate everything because it was so amazing. The red wine was also superb. Bravo for this talented chef! And the service was top-notch as well.

Honestly, I would never go to this restaurant. I'd rather starve than eat the garbage they serve. The service is slower than a tortoise with asthma, and they're more unpleasant than breakfast salt. I hope they close, but NEVER GO if you want to eat decent food.

Well, this classic deserves nothing but 5 stars. For the delicious food (wonderfully seasoned, surprising, truly something different), the service (dedicated and knowledgeable), and the ambiance (simple but incredibly cozy). And the price-quality ratio is excellent!

I had such a lovely experience at this cozy restaurant! I asked for quite a lot of things, and the waiter was incredibly attentive and found a way to meet every need. Super sweet and thoughtful. I was also in a hurry and needed my food to-go, and even though they don’t usually offer that service, they packed everything into two glass jars and gave me a cloth bag to carry them (because the food was hot). I appreciate the attention to detail and the warmth of the service. And I’ll definitely be coming back again! 🩵🩵🩵

As a person raised eating enjera, I have to say I ate the worst injera I have ever had in my life. I ordered kitfo, the meat and butter are good; but it is just the meat and butter and so many ingredients that make kitfo outstanding are missing. The price for drinks is absolutely unfair and can be improved. Kitfo 6/10 Enjera 2/10

The food was amazing. I had a vegan mix with injera and it was super good. It was a nice mix of spicy and less spicy food. But all flavors were amazing. Highly recommend. Also you can have more of the injera for free as long as you finish it. Amazing!

Excellent food and great service! We had a vegan and a selection of meats with and injeras. Everything was delicious! Also, the waiter was really friendly, we had a great time here. The best thing: You get free refills for the injeras (Ethiopian bread), which I as someone who leaves most restaurants hungry, really appreciate it. 🙌

Delicious food. I was there at 5 pm and was really hungry and had not eaten enough that day. I told them this and got my food quickly. It was a delicious vegan meal, super healthy with many types of vegetables, nicely prepared with special herbs. I can cook from all countries but not African yet, so it is fantastic to eat something that you can't make at home. The waiter was very hospitable. The cardamom tea is delicious for the throat.

We stumbled across this great family run restaurant. We have eaten Ethiopian food before so knew what expect and this didn’t disappoint. Packed with flavour I had the mixed Injero a bit of everything both the meat and vegetable dishes served on the Injero a flat bread bit rubbery with small holes in, tastes a lot better than my description makes it sound. My wife chose the Temtemo which was delicious and prob the best dish. Staff are excellant to.

The staff was quite nice, they opened it so we could eat, but I didn't like the food very much, but the truth is I don't know about African food, the atmosphere was good, but I asked for a meat without anything and they put it with onion and they also took a while to put the food out.

The best-est Ethiopian food in The Netherlands!!!!! From the time you enter the restaurant till you leave with your stomach and heart full of the amazing food and experiences you will be blown away!!! Shoutout to the waiter who goes the extra mile to meticulously explain the menu, the dishes on your plate amd pairings as well! Can't wait to visit again

Good food, great service and very warming

First time trying Ethiopian food. It was a great experience! We ordered the mixed plate. A huge plate was served with a big pancake at the bottom. On the pancake are different dishes in small portion, so that we can try a bit of everything. There are different kinds of meat and veggie. All of them were nice. I especially loved the pancake (bread?) that tastes very airy chewy and a bit fermented flavor probably from the yeast. The homemade piri piri sauce was incredible.

Excellent comfort food with all the flavour and spice one needs in a cold evening (I'm sure it's great on a warm one too). Quite a nice gem of a restaurant with a good selection of dishes and to finish it up don't pass on the cake of the day (we were lucky to have the vegan chocolate cake with date syrup).

Eventhough the place is small, it is really cozy with different decorations. The vibe was really nice. The food is okay as I tried other African cuisines before. The service of the waiter is really appreciated as he needs to attend all the tables and explains about the dishes but it comes with slowness. One advice is to reserve the seats before going.( response to the comment from owner- three star rating is given because of food. After having the food, I got bad stomach pain which was not expected. Now I have take out that appreciation as well)

Off the beaten track Ethiopian gem. Totally authentic, wonderfully delicious, made fresh for your plate, with a fantastic vegan range, so there's really no need to eat meat. However, the lamb is really delicious, so if you're a part-time vegan, take the evening off. If you haven't tried this kind of food, you definitely should. You eat it with injera, this spongy rubbery slightly sour flatbread that tastes so much better than it sounds. Finger-licking lekker. And yeah, it's not always swamped with tourists. But sometimes it is. So book.

Sympathiek restaurantje op loopafstand (10 minuten) van Artis, dat daar al zo'n 30 jaar gevestigd is. Met ons vriendengroepje hier neergestreken. Leuk idee om eens wat verder te kijken dan de directe omgeving bij die mooie dierentuin in onze hoofdstad. Zo hadden we een paar gezellige uren en kozen gezamenlijk voor een Mixed injera (check de menukaart) zodat we met onze "10 geboden" de schotels deelden. Omdat we met ons zessen waren, besloten we dit gerecht voor 5 personen te bestellen dat ruim voldoende was. Dat werd ook bevestigd door de vriendelijke medewerker die alles kundig uitserveerde. Ook bestond de mogelijkheid om voor een meer pittige variant te kiezen. Maar wij gaven aan dat de meesten van ons dat niet graag wilden (en ik persoonlijk daar niet tegen kan). Helaas bleek dat sommige stews, die onderdeel uitmaken van de Mixed injera, sowieso van een behoorlijk pittig gehalte waren en dat was jammer, voornamelijk voor mij want mijn tafelgenoten hadden daar minder last van. Blijft gezegd dat we het vooral super gezellig hadden, maar dat o.a. ik de verhouding prijs/kwaliteit (Injera per persoon € 21!). voor het gebodene niet in verhouding vind. Helaas voor mij geen volgend bezoek aan dit vriendelijke, kleine zaakje op het Rapenburgerplein...

Hi!! The food was super tasty, I also really enjoyed the juices and tea :) staff was very friendly. For the quality and quantity that was just delivered, the price could be higher. The overall atmosphere was relaxed, I almost fell down the stairs when I came back up from the toilet, but that was because of the platforms under my uggs. The appearance of the place was very warm/cosy. Anyways thank you I enjoyed it and will 100% come back!!:) Gem of 020

What a delicious meal we had! Mixed Injera with freshly squeezed Tamarind juice. The boy who served us the food gets a 10! He provides very good service, a winner!
