La Cubanita in Wijk 02 Almere Stad

Yesterday we went to eat. Upon arrival, we waited 10 minutes when someone came. We sat by the window. It was very cold. I put my coat there. We received bread, which wasn't baked properly. The dishes weren't really optimal, lacking flavor. A lot of sauce was too much. Over-portioned: four pieces of melon with two small pieces of ham and steak. The hamburger hadn't melted the cheese. A lot of mess on the floor. Tables weren't cleared immediately, which made for a nasty sight, even for customers. Then you order your dessert. The lady who came told you that you had ordered cheesecake; it still had to thaw. It wasn't very professional. When it arrived, it was still frozen. I paid and left. Bad experience for me, I'll never eat here again.

Disappointing. It was busy and the staff worked very hard...but the food wasn't good and had very little flavor.

You walk in and see three staff members standing around happily doing nothing. You ask if there's room... You're told you can't eat due to staff shortages. If you don't feel like it, don't work.

The dinner here was dissapointing on so many levels.Please stop naming this place as tapas bar as it has nothing to do with tapas known from Spain. It is a Dutch version of tapas- tasteless dishes and portion as small as you can eat using microscope. Change the chef,go to Spain and understand what tapas actually is. I was shocked and suprised how bad quality food you can serve asking for high price for it.Even the coctails were bad- hardly no alcohol in them and as sweet as hell. Meat was dry, fried too much,not fresh quality. The design of this place looks nice and the staff is friendly,but it won't cover disappointing experience with the food.

I found it very noisy. And the staff put everything on the table right away, even though there were ten of us.

We actually had a great experience here. We really enjoyed most of the tapas. However, we had to wait a really long time for some of them. The restaurant is quite small, and the tables are all very close together, which made it quite noisy. For the price, it was okay! :)

I was here for the first time and I must say it was very nice, tasty, cozy and the food (concept) was also good, there were definitely some things that were a bit less, but overall it was good and definitely worth repeating.

Tried it on recommendation, but was disappointed. Many of the dishes were fried (this wasn't the case before, according to my friends). The first course was spare ribs, three ribs, but they weren't warm enough, so I'll order them again later. This time, the dish was warm, but unfortunately only one rib. The carpaccio and the patatas bravas were reasonable to good. It's also very noisy (loud talking and screaming children). Of course, the staff and La Cubanita can't do anything about it, but perhaps they should install sound-absorbing panels. There were five of us seated at a table that, in my opinion, was too small. All in all, not recommended; we certainly won't be returning.

It's difficult to have a conversation because it's incredibly noisy. And the music wasn't even on yet. The staff is incredibly rude. It's a shame about that fake nail that came with the food. Perfect for bachelor/bachelorette parties or birthdays where people want to eat and drink.

La Cubanita in Almere Centrum offers a fun dining concept in a lively location. The restaurant is styled with Cuban influences, which makes for a nice theme, although the interior felt a little bare at times, it seemed like some greenery or plants could have made the space warmer and more inviting. Also the lighting at our table (near the entrance) was harsh and not very cozy, which made the experience feel less atmospheric. With just a few tweaks to the ambiance, the restaurant could feel much more welcoming. The overall concept is great though, especially considering the value for money. For a small extra charge (€12,50), you can include drinks like wine, beer, and more, which makes it quite an affordable night out. The staff were a real highlight of our visit! Very kind, friendly, and attentive. We felt well taken care of and the service was quick and smooth. The setting on Belfortplein is also appealing, surrounded by other restaurants right in the heart of the city. As for the food: unfortunately, this was where the experience fell short. Many of the dishes didn’t taste particularly fresh. The salmon and meat, for example, were overcooked and lacked quality. While the variety is good and it’s fun to try many small bites, it’s not the place to go if you’re looking for refined flavors or high-quality ingredients. Also, despite the Cuban name, the tapas lean much more toward Spanish-style small dishes. Overall, La Cubanita is a good option if you want a casual evening out, lots of food for a reasonable price, and you’re not too concerned about top-tier quality. With friendlier lighting and a bit more freshness in the dishes, it would be perfect!

The dishes were delicious. It's just a shame there wasn't any steak. We had to wait a long time for someone to come and explain how the concept works. It was our first time. Otherwise, it was fine.

Worthless... food was cold... steak was not on the menu... a lot of noise... ice cream in a cardboard cup was frozen solid... in short, never again... la cubanita

It was busy and especially hot, but the food was fantastic. Every dish was fresh and flavorful. Well-seasoned, and the desserts were also a treat. It's a shame the ice cream is served in a paper cup.

Great concept. Lots of selection and tasty snacks. Tip: remember what you ordered. It can sometimes take a while to get it.

The busier it gets, the longer you have to wait for your food. The first round came within 6 minutes and by the 4th round we had to wait 20 minutes before we got our food, so definitely take your time!

Wat een zooitje daar in almere alles moet 4x vragen lopen daar kinderen te bedienen die er geen zin in hebben 2x dienblad met drinken over kleding laten vallen ja sorry wat een zooitje daarna 4x vragen of ze de vieze vaat weg willen halen en dan staat er zoveel dat ze ook dat op de grond laten vallen. It's a bit of a shame if you choose the drinks concept, but there's too little staff, so you could only order two drinks... and the food was usually not warm. Of course, the staff that were there couldn't do anything about that and were also working incredibly hard.

Food was not really tasty, you can better go to a snack bar for the same quality!!! Especially the shrimps were not always cooked properly. But what do you expect when you have a little boy of between 17/18 in the kitchen!!!

Uiteraard weer heerlijk gegeten. De Virgin Cocktails zijn hier ook altijd heel lekker. Helaas zelf een beetje ziekig geworden na hier te hebben gegeten - maar dat maakt het voor mij niet een mindere ervaring! (Kon namelijk ook gewoon een slechte dag zijn geweest en niet eens afkomstig hier vandaan!) Personeel was echt super vriendelijk, ze hadden een leveringsfout gehad en moesten ze aan iedereen vertellen. Deden ze met klasse!

Been coming here for years. My experience also differs every time. One time a bit better than the other time, but generally tasty, cozy & cozy. Depending on how busy it is, it can sometimes be that a dish is overlooked and that is human. Only that does not make it less annoying with 2 dishes per round. When reporting, action was taken immediately.

Service was friendly but they should say what they put on the table. Atmosphere of the restaurant is okay, could use a bit more atmosphere. Food was good but could be much better.

Food was small and not tasty, it was full of sauce, nachos were bad, fries were not tasty, chicken was tasty, bread with aioli was leaking only 1 piece for 3 people 🤨, service was nice and they did their job well. Desserts were just whipped cream with a sauce I won't be coming back here.

Not really familiar with "cuisine / dishes" hence 3 stars... tables are quite close together which is not nice... service (food) also felt quite messy... ordering drinks went smoothly... not really a feeling of "this is worth repeating".

Loved the variety and quantity. Worth the price tag. Steak, burrata, croquettes, clams, chicken, ribs are good but could be considered sub par. The drinks are sweet. Loved their tartare, and spanish burger patties though. It was a fun dinner.

Eaten there twice in a month, the first time it took a very long time before we got our food. The second time it went faster. After eating we ordered an iced coffee, more than 25 minutes later we got it, the ice had completely melted, it was not tasty. So I am not really satisfied😒

Received a cold dish a few times and everything took a very long time. Ordered mussels and were told after 30 minutes that they were gone. Can happen. There were also few staff and it was very busy. But dishes were tasty.

Nice concept (ordering food via an app). Wide choice, not too expensive and nice food. Service is very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Young audience.

Truly bizarre experience! Employee drops mayo container. I'm completely covered in it, my bag is covered in... This can happen of course. But how do they solve it... have to ask 3 times for a wet cloth, no gesture like a drink or something like that. Really very disappointing!!

Delicious dinner tonight. All you can eat for less than thirty euros. Everything is prepared super well, good Quality and came away feeling good and full. This was the first time at this la cubanita but it certainly won't be the last. Staff super good, friendly and attentive. Finally (personally) I miss a little extra atmosphere in the store with that little bit of extra decoration or something decent..

What a disappointment it was this time, cold chicken pieces, I was supposed to get new ones but never got them again, Salmon with dill on toast was inedible, toast was incredibly tough, Cuban stew could just do with 5 fries with 2 mini pieces of meat, 2nd time Ordered again but didn't receive anything, and I could go on and on... We sat next to the door, which was incredibly cold! A real disappointment

Het eten was van slechte kwaliteit maar ook echt slecht bereid! De carpacio was meerendeel truffel mayonaise, kip was super droog en de bediening luisterde niet naar de klacht. Heel jammer!

Helaas na ons laatste bezoek, flink achteruit gegaan. Wij aten met z'n tweeën, tafel was oke en aan het raam. De gerechten: - elk gerecht slechts 3 stukjes - gerechten niet warm of lauw - zit geen goede smaak aan - inktvisringen half rauw en geen smaak. Wij spraken de bediening aan op de halfwarme garnalen. Dat werd meegenomen en wij kregen direct een andere schaal die voor een andere tafel bedoelt was. Deze schaal was vervolgens nog kouder. Hoewel de bediening haar best deed en vriendelijk bleven, slaan wij dit Tapas restaurant in vervolg over. Tip aan de directie: verdiep je in de Spaanse Tapas keuken. Het kan echt beter!

Nice atmosphere, tasty food and good cocktails. Ordering is done via a QR code, which I personally think is a bit of a shame because you always have to sit at the table with your phone. This ensures that your order is quickly passed on to the kitchen. This all went very smoothly. The price/quality is very reasonable. We have been there a few times but will definitely come back. Great concept.

Dined with a group of 5 total. We noticed that we had not yet received items from the first round, while dishes from the second round were already arriving. Some dishes we have never had. We also received dishes that we had not ordered. When we pointed this out, the clerk said I'll be right back. Then she came back but didn't get back to it. There was also a dish where the sauce was on the outside of the container. Possibly because the dishes were all placed diagonally on a tray. Most of the dishes were standard and therefore not special. I expected a bit more because it was Christmas. Two people ordered dessert from the menu. The clerk indicated that this was not included in the price. Then another clerk returned to report that these desserts could not be ordered. You could only choose between two Christmas desserts. Afterwards we felt sick to our stomachs and felt nauseous. This kept us awake at night. We would have preferred to end Christmas differently. Too bad about this experience because I have been before (a few years ago now) and I was satisfied and had no complaints afterwards.

Had dinner on Friday evening with a group of friends. Atmosphereless tent. Cold food, plates are barely picked up. There were whole piles of it and when we ask if it can be taken away, a grumpy girl tells us yes, it will happen soon. Excuse me???? After 20 minutes it was still there. Food cold, still half raw salmon, steaks fried until tough, dishes that are not brought, drinks you have to ask for several times, rounds of eating and drinking are mixed up. Very bad experience. Kevin is the only one who walked around cheerfully, helped well and still wanted to arrange everything well. Big kudos to him! We won't be back again.

The entire (1st) experience was substandard. It was quite chilly and we had been given a table right on the draft. When eating, we often got the impression that it was not freshly prepared, came from a can or had been prepared in the microwave. Little time was also spent on the presentation of the food; this was very flawed. The tomato-mozzarella skewers were not on skewers and the ham-melon was simply a plate of huge pieces of melon with a few loose pieces of ham on top. The numbers of the ham also did not correspond to the numbers of the melon. The chicken with honey did not seem to be inferior in quality to the chicken nuggets from McDonalds and the honey sauce looked more like pancake syrup. The carpaccio with cheese and lettuce was more like cheese and lettuce with a little carpaccio. We were also not pleased with the Sangria. This one also looked like it came straight out of a ready-made suit. Despite the circumstances surrounding the Corona virus, we experienced that the staff was friendly and provided fast service. Finally, we unfortunately ended this evening with a nauseous feeling and pain in the stomach.

We had to order our food 3 times and it was always brought to different tables. 1000 apologies and it went wrong again. We received a message that the hot kitchen was closing even though we still had not received our order.

Good atmosphere and delicious food

The ordering system was down. The employees couldn't do anything about it, they took over with a piece of paper with the numbers written down, but it took quite a while before you got food. Also missed something a few times. Then I got half portions, it seemed (see photo). Even the toast with salmon was more like toast WITHOUT salmon... Prawns which were cold, not in the oil and the pan was also completely cold, was this heated in the microwave or under a heat lamp? Order your special coffee; Italian coffee. So if you also pay for the liqueur, you don't get dissaronno but the kuyper amaretto!! Ridiculous !!! We love coming to la Cubanita in Amersfoort, Bussum and also Utrecht. But Almere NEVER AGAIN.!! A waste of our evening and money.

The food was not good at all. Almost everything we got was either cold, or not fresh and soggy. We had to wait for quite some time, some dishes came 20 minutes after we ordered them. The atmosphere was okay. Would not recommend it, especially when you have to pay this much for this quality.

I thought the food quality was really mediocre. Service was okay and the atmosphere was nice.

I found ordering extremely vague and not clear. Hamburgers were cold and the food was mediocre. I also felt there was little choice. Apparently you also had to make a reservation, but luckily there was still room. We ordered 4 tapas, but would have to pay a high amount at checkout. Fortunately this was handled well

Menu so terribly simple, 2 dishes per person per round....so you think about round 2?!.! Uhmmm it takes a long time, never mind, we didn't eat anything that made us say wow, delicious... everything was mediocre, the food looked like it had been under a heat lamp... it wasn't!! (2nd bad experience...never again)

The four of us went to dinner today (Wednesday). Very tasty food, very friendly staff, quick service. Giant lady blanche.

We ate several dishes from the new menu and they were very tasty. Due to Father's Day, almost all tables were occupied, but this was not noticeable due to the smooth service. We had a delicious meal and the hot dishes were at the right temperature. See you next time.

We have already eaten at la cubanita in many places, but Almere remains a bit disappointing and that has to do with the unrest due to the loud music. As a result, we simply don't feel comfortable there and it also becomes difficult to talk.

Not the Best, we had to wait forever for our food. No comunication to the guests, let them know if you having dificulty, that way we will be more understanding. Some of our orders never came, sometimes we got what we did not order..so abit of a mess. i cant get over excited about the food.....

Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. It was busy and so we had to wait a little longer for the rounds, but that was no problem.

Really happening again. After half an hour I asked where the food (steak) was. After waiting another 20 minutes. The steak is gone. Thought it had been said, said a waitress. Not. So this happens more often. If you wait for an order, it won't come. Then I wouldn't have ordered red wine and ordered something else in the meantime. Don't go there anymore.

We wanted to eat at La Cubanita, but one of my 5-year-old sons has a serious eating disorder. He was not allowed to sit at our table if we did not pay 12.50. According to the employee, we also had to pay for him even if he didn't eat. She also didn't understand when we told her that this was his first time in a restaurant so he could experience it for the first time even if he didn't eat anything. She had absolutely no understanding of that because you take away all you can eat. What a disappointment!!

No Spanish/latam tapas but... something that isn't that expensive to eat. Atmosphere is good. Flammkuchen as a dish? You can't find it in Cuba or Mexico... And what is "la cócteles"? That's not Spanish...

As true La Cubanita fans, we had dinner in Almere for the first time tonight. Modern building but still managed to create the Cuban atmosphere. Smooth, neat service and all tapas of very good quality! Compliments!

Als we gaan shoppen in Almere boeken we standaard La Cubanita helaas viel het dit keer tegen. Bepaalde gerechten waren niet lekker op smaak, te vet of gewoon over de datum zoals de ham bij de meloen. Ze waren voorheen gewoon goed helaas nu maar gemiddeld. daarnaast amper beweegruimte doordat er een hele lange tafel opgesteld stond voor een vrijgezellenfestje. Bediening was voorheen ook beter nu leek het of men je weg wilde hebben. Cocktail was wel erg lekker.

We were 6 people. In the beginning after the first order, not everyone immediately has their order because that depends on what you ordered. But after the second order everyone is happily eating. You can order two dishes (tapas) per round. There is plenty of choice, perhaps a little less for vegetarians. The dishes and drinks are brought. We were there on a Sunday evening. Almost all tables were occupied but the service was good. The portions are easy to share, which makes dining even more enjoyable. The spare ribs and steak tips were excellent, as were the cheese croquettes. The mushrooms could have been seasoned a little more. Cozy atmosphere, good service and attention. Recommended!!

Delicious food, first experience with tapas, but definitely worth repeating!

Yesterday we had a delicious meal with the 3 of us. Food arrived quickly, hot and of excellent quality and was delivered quickly after ordering. Hard working staff, customer friendly. Staff answers questions with ease, despite the crowds. I therefore cannot agree with the less good reviews.

De gerechten werden redelijk snel geserveerd na het bestellen, wat we erg fijn vonden. We hebben lekker gegeten en de prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding was ook in orde.

We went to celebrate a family birthday and it was almost impossible to speak to each other. It was incredible crowded for a Thursday but it seems is quite normal because of the all inclusive price they offer during the week which is cheaper than during the weekends. The food was good and fresh can't complain. Just is not the real Spanish tapas that you will expect, this ones are made for Dutch gastronomic taste. The waiter's we're very friendly and helpful. I do love the music and most say the environment is also good.

The food was not always warm and the table was only cleared when the next dishes were already there. This made it a bit chaotic and not really worth ordering something a second time. It was nice for once, but won't be back anytime soon.

Looked nice, but was very noisy, several dishes were reasonable, but most of them very greasy, for example the meatballs seemed to come from a token, this restaurant is certainly not worth repeating for us

Terribly noisy restaurant. We previously had dinner at La Cubanita Harderwijk and it was significantly better there.

Cozy tapas restaurant on Belfortplein in the center of Almere. Like all other 'La Cubanita' locations, they have a nice choice of dishes, which you can view and order via QR code on your phone. The ambiance was excellent (nice, cozy interior with comfortable seating areas). We opted for the All-in package, for this price you really get an excellent deal. The staff was also super nice and hospitable. Dishes were also served quickly. A minor drawback for me was the somewhat small toilets. But otherwise a great restaurant!

It was pleasantly busy for a weekday. Management is very professional and service-oriented. Highly recommended.
