La Cubanita Ridderkerk in Centrum

Went there last night, but what a disappointment. We had to wait half an hour for bread and our drinks. It wasn't busy, but I think there was too little staff. The food was bad. On top of that, in the 3rd round I was still served food from the 1st round, and I had ordered the corn on the cob; there are supposed to be 2, but there was only 1 on my plate. Strange. The shrimp were completely shriveled. There were just 2 drops of chili sauce in the bowl next to the overly dark onion rings. The bowls of food were placed at the very edge of the table, so you had to watch out that they didn't fall off. Table numbers got mixed up, so we received food from our neighbors and had to pass it on ourselves. Well, we won't be coming back here; it was a waste of money.

Waiting 50 to 60 minutes for the ordered tapas. The waitress asked: "Is everything to your liking? Can I do anything else for you?", to which I replied: "No, certainly not everything to your liking; it is all taking a very long time." This was completely ignored, and we were asked for a drink. Had to ask twice where the chicken skewers were; nothing was done about it. Subsequently, I ordered and received them again. Received chicken skewers again an hour and a half after the original order. When I asked how much longer it would take for the last two dishes of the four ordered, after I had already been waiting for an hour!, the standard answer was given: "I will report it to the kitchen." Subsequently, absolutely nothing happened about it. Eventually, I asked to speak to the supervisor/manager and indicated that I am very dissatisfied with the waiting times and the communication, that I have previously expressed my dissatisfaction, and that this is not being responded to. She herself had not heard anything about this from her staff. A table next to us indicated, after he got a bit angry and this was apparently not appreciated by the waitress in question; Okay, then send someone I am actually allowed to get angry at. Apparently, the supervisor hadn't been told this either; the staff could certainly use some better communication. At least two tables around us left in anger. All in all, very long wait times, poor communication, and bad staff who don't know how or when to deploy a supervisor. For a reservation at 17:45, for which you normally get 2.5 hours, I eventually left at 22:00, purely due to extremely long wait times.

We were there last Friday. The food was pretty okay, especially the camembert with honey was very tasty, but there was much less choice than at La Cubanita, where I normally always go. The reason I am writing a review now—which I normally never would do because complaining on the internet afterwards isn't my thing, but am doing so anyway—is the fact that a silverfish was crawling around in my bowl of the Cuban cigar with whipped cream and Oreo. I almost threw up. I walked over to the staff with it, and she was startled and came to give me another bowl, remarking that normally that really doesn't belong in there... (duh🙄). In other words, they don't work hygienically. And I had somehow expected some kind of apology afterwards, or compensation, or something, but no... also, the staff couldn't tell me which red wines were available, so we just got a red wine, and they weren't really friendly, and a colleague's glass was slammed on the table. At the end, one waitress dropped a coffee behind us, and it took about fifteen minutes for it to be cleaned up. Which means someone at the table could slip on this without immediately noticing. I normally always go to La Cubanita Dordrecht, which is really top-notch, but I'm not going there anymore😕

Last Tuesday, we had dinner together at Lacubanita in Ridderkerk. A very pleasant experience, friendly staff, delicious food. Quite good value for money. It wasn't very busy, but we certainly weren't the only ones in the restaurant. We will definitely come back to eat here again!

The food is very good, but it is a shame that the tasty items I come specifically for are often out of stock, such as the squid rings, and you only find out about this when you get there; very disappointing.

We had an all-inclusive package and had to wait a very long time for both food and drinks! The dishes themselves were fine, but most of them were lukewarm or cold. The waitresses were slow and clearly weren't enjoying themselves... In short, we won't be coming back!

You can easily wait 2 hours for your food and still not get it after pointing it out. Even ice creams take a very long time and turn out to be milkshakes upon arrival.

This is a really bad place; they make people wait outside in the cold. I reserved in advance and waited outside for 15 minutes because there was no room. In the end, I went home without food.

Nice, it wasn't busy. We came to celebrate our son's birthday; he was super surprised by the fireworks dessert and the singing staff. We also observed 2 minutes of silence to commemorate him, which we thought was very respectful. The reason we gave the service 4 stars was that out of the 4 steak on bread orders, I received it twice, with the added comment that it wasn't included in the round. That was a shame. Otherwise, we had a delicious meal and we are going to Bobbejaanland with the tickets🥳

Had a nice evening. Most of the dishes were tasty. A few could use some adjustment, such as the kibbeling: the outside was fine, but the inside was much too wet.

Went to eat in Ridderkerk today and had to wait more than an hour for our ice cream. What a terrible place!! Never this branch again.

We tried it once, since we do like the food and receive good service at the Gouda branch, but unfortunately. The Ridderkerk branch is just really bad, sorry, but I have no other words for it. Food takes an average of 45 minutes per order round, you are lucky if you actually get half of what you ordered, and if you ask for it and it eventually arrives, it is cold 9 out of 10 times. Experienced the same thing again tonight... The staff act and look friendly, but are all very inexperienced and seem to receive zero guidance. Had to wait 50 minutes for a red wine (we didn't have the all-in completa menu so it was just extra revenue) while all the tables around us had already ordered drinks twice and received them immediately.

I went here for dinner with my family on Friday evening. The staff was very friendly, but the food—I can be brief about it—was not good. All the hot dishes were cold, lukewarm, or overcooked. I find it very disappointing that my daughter and I were both throwing up last night. It's a shame; I had expected more.

The staff was friendly, but we had to wait a very long time for our food. We did not receive some items. Orange juice, red port, and decaffeinated cappuccino were sold out.

We were the first in the restaurant. We placed our first order at 17:05. We received our food after 18:00. When we mentioned this, we were told that it was too busy. Very strange; if you can't handle it, why accept reservations? Also, the drinks were not served until 30 minutes later. When paying, we were asked if everything was to our liking. We indicated that it wasn't. We were told that we should have just mentioned it, even though we did so twice. It's a shame, because we visit La Cubanita often. However, we will never go to Ridderkerk again.

The restaurant was packed with people. You're practically sitting on top of each other! Hot tapas were served cold. The beef patties were very tough. The shrimp were too soft and didn't seem fresh. The nachos were also cold, but they were listed with the cold tapas. Nachos should be warm from the oven. A dish was also served that wasn't ordered. The ice cream had melted considerably by the time it was served, and after dessert, other dishes were still being served. Never again!

The food is excellent. Tasty snacks. The service could be better, but it's adequate. The atmosphere could be better.

We were previously very satisfied with La Cubanita in Ridderkerk. We're still satisfied, but unfortunately, we've lost a star. The reason for this is that the availability of dishes has been somewhat limited over the past three visits. During these visits, the pasta salad, the honey chicken pieces, and a few other dishes were always unavailable. The service remains the same; very fast kitchen and friendly staff. Therefore, 4 stars! Hopefully, the supplier can improve on this, as things have always been good before.

Another wonderful evening with my wife. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and super helpful at every table. We enjoyed three hours of delicious food and drinks.

The food was very good, nice and hot, and tasted great! The person serving the food was very sweet and made sure everything was perfect. The person serving the food, however... upon arrival, she was very vague and didn't give us a table right away. It took ages to ask for our first drink. Furthermore, we had a complete meal, so we couldn't order drinks ourselves. However, she never came by to ask for them. We had to keep asking, and then she'd sigh and look irritated.

Bad experience, long waits for drinks, and the food is cold. I don't recommend eating there anymore. At checkout, they were rudely helped, charged drinks you didn't order, and then you get your receipt thrown in your face and they say, "We don't want that hassle." Definitely not going to eat there again. It's a real shame. It used to be a very good place. Handled well, but still had a great meal on January 8th. Regards.

After two disappointing experiences, tonight was fantastic! After responding to the previous review and email, La Cubanita really put things right tonight. Thanks for that! The food was good and hot, and everything we ordered arrived. Excellent, and thanks!

The food was mostly cold. It was clear that it had been sitting ready for a while before it was served. The service is very slow and clearly unmotivated. They also constantly deliver the wrong dishes to the wrong tables. After being spoken to, the manager blames customers for the problems (ordering faster in succession). This “manager” loudly proclaims this lame excuse to all customers complaining about the waitresses' slowness. Received two drinks on the house as compensation, but this does not compensate for the extremely bad service. Truly a failure. Other Cubanitas are much better. The lighting is also far too white, reminiscent of an emergency room. Never had such a deplorable experience. The highlight of the evening was the jokes made with other guests about the cold, soggy steak tips and the forgotten orders. Had to ask three times for missing cutlery. Truly deplorable.

We ate here last night, and it was unfortunately a disappointment. The food was lukewarm or just cold, and every time we ordered, we were missing a dish. We definitely won't be back because the price-quality ratio was very poor.

My wife and I usually like going to La Cubanita in Gouda and Schiedam, and it's always good. We thought we'd try Ridderkerk because it's easier to park the car. Well, we regret it. The food was absolutely terrible, and everything was cold or lukewarm; nothing was properly hot. Spicy steak slices were swimming in liquid and weren't spicy at all. This is a real shame, especially for the staff, who are willing to help but can't improve because of their colleagues. I won't be coming back here again, hoping they get their act together, and if they do, you can call me—it's a waste of money.

The food was cold and all the orders were mixed up. When you mention it, the response is, "I hope you'll come back again so we can show you how it's done."

Don't eat here!! Terrible! The service is terrible; your food is literally thrown on the table. The staff can't properly explain what they're offering. Shrimp, calamari like bouncy balls, patatas bravas lukewarm and tough. Everything here comes straight from the microwave. Dirty lumps in the chocolate milk, and then the staff responds that it's no big deal. "I just drank it too." Toilet doors black with grime, the menu covered in sauce, the walls next to the table dirty, and the chairs covered in stains.

We had very good experiences with la cubanita…. When we came here our opinion changed…. Our food was cold and my boyfriend had a long black hair in his chicken salad the cocktails have 0 alchohol (not talking about the virgin ones) the menu is very poor for the prices u pay. Its all based in bread fries and cheap snacks…. The only positive thing is that they have nice staff and they try their best!

We went to dinner with the family yesterday. We had to wait for anyone to even come to us. We finally ordered our first round at the table, but one person still hadn't eaten anything from the first round by the third round. The Smashburger was just a cheeseburger, but the cheese hadn't even melted. The nachos were stone cold with a blob of sour cream and guacamole. There was also a glitch, so the dishes suddenly stopped coming. No, unfortunately, we won't be returning to this restaurant again.

I don't find the food particularly special; it's a bit generic, everything tastes the same. The service was good. I find the system with the QR code very unsettling. You spend the whole evening checking if you're ordering on time. We were with a group, so it was certainly sociable, but I wouldn't choose it myself.

The food was often not warm, there was really no effort put into the dishes, and we were both eating alone all the time. It's not a big deal if everything didn't arrive at the same time, but this time it was really bad. The staff were not enthusiastic, and the quality of the food had significantly declined. It's a shame, because we had a really good meal there once.

Birthday party at Cubanita. Good food. The drinks service was a bit slow, partly because we were so many people. But the rest of the evening more than made up for it.

I used to love coming here for a nice meal. Unfortunately, last night was the second time I experienced a shortage of staff. The first time, there were only two cooks instead of four, and last night, a waitress was absent. As annoying as that is, and there's nothing you can do about it, maybe consider hiring more staff in the future? It's not pleasant for anyone. The staff is working themselves to death, and customers have to wait too long. I had to wait 40 minutes for a drink and 50 minutes for three croquettes. I got a discount at the checkout, which I really appreciate. But unfortunately, I won't be returning. If there are enough staff, it's definitely a fun and enjoyable place to eat!

Went for dinner twice recently. We had Cuba Completa both times. The food and drinks were delicious. Drinks were offered regularly. The food arrived hot and relatively quickly.

We ate at La Cubanita in Ridderkerk yesterday. The service was unfriendly; we couldn't order for ages. We literally waited almost half an hour for drinks. The food arrived very late, and we didn't even get some dishes. The food was also cold, even if it arrived at all! I find this a real shame, because tapas should be a cozy and enjoyable experience, and the atmosphere should be too. It was also very stuffy inside. Not a pleasant atmosphere. We had to get more food elsewhere afterward because we weren't full. We also mentioned the all-you-can-eat policy upon arrival, told the staff, and also mentioned it on the ordering app, so basically, you should be able to get everything you want, because that's what you pay for. The food arrived late, as previously stated, and the food arrived cold at the specified time. You want to leave as quickly as possible, because this is the ultimate frustration.

Clearing away food takes a long time, which attracts fruit flies. Not everything is cooked evenly.

We noticed they were also experiencing staff shortages, which meant we sometimes had to wait longer for our food. But the food was good and the staff very friendly.

I didn't really enjoy the food. I think there was a staff shortage, which meant it took a very long time for the dishes to be served. During one of the rounds, a dish was missing. We waited for over half an hour, and after asking repeatedly, we only received the missing dish during the last round. We also had to send back a cocktail twice because it wasn't made properly.

Cold food, waiting 45 minutes or more for two mini-meals, which were served late and cold, paying for all-you-can-eat and drink but not being able to order a drink, and the number of times we didn't hear "my colleague will be there shortly" is uncountable. Even between tables, there were complaints. That was the "best" part of the evening, a bit of shared suffering. Seeing many customers give up, their tables long empty, and then dishes still coming for years. There were three of us, we had made reservations days in advance, and it took from 5:45 to 10 hours to get something to eat... where normally 1.5 to 2 hours for yogurt is plenty long enough for us. Not something we'll be back. Plenty of choices in (and around) Ridderkerk for a good meal.

When one menu finally arrived, there was a hair on the tapa. After it was returned, I had to wait another fifteen minutes. Never before!

The food at La Cubanita was delicious, but the wait was way too long. After waiting an hour and a half, we still hadn't received the dishes from our first round. Finally, we got dessert, but even that was a long wait because there was no spoon. By the time it arrived, our ice cream had already melted. It's a shame, because the food itself made up for a lot, but the long waits detracted from the overall experience.

We ate here on August 7th. We had a wonderful evening. Delicious food and great service. For the price you pay, you really get your money's worth. Due to the sudden crowds, we sometimes had to wait a little while. But this was resolved quickly and efficiently. I admire how the staff, despite what I think are far too few people, kept things running smoothly. And the staff were nothing but friendly to the customers. The food was delicious. It's amazing how a few kitchen staff can quickly serve such delicious dishes for a very full restaurant. 😃👌🏼We'd love to come back♥️Thank you, dear people!

It's not what it used to be. Made a reservation for 6:15 PM, and by 6:45 PM, still no food or drinks. There was a young woman with an arrogant and unprofessional attitude. "Just pick a table," she said, "and then we had to move again." Super weird. Would they have shown us to a table right away?! But no, we chatted happily behind the bar, and still no welcome. Then we had to wait at the other table for a good fifteen minutes because she hadn't activated the app at our table. I was bold enough to say something about it. By then, the other woman behind the bar had activated it, and they only brought a sandwich. It was almost 7:00 PM by then. Then the food... It had really gone downhill from what it was a few years ago. Tough meat, not properly cooked, everything was either extremely salty or tasteless, almost like a ready-made reheat. We didn't get the impression that it was all fresh. Mediocre and meager. They kept "losing" appetizers, so they had to retrieve them from the kitchen. It was chaos. When paying, the ambidextrous woman almost asked for a tip and remarked to my 70-year-old father that he could come work as a dishwasher in the kitchen. She was so rude, and the child acted as if she were the owner, but she couldn't care less about tipping! I saw her take our drink orders twice throughout the evening. We had to repeatedly ask the staff who brought the food. It was like a children's club at work, with no supervisor or manager directing the situation. The other woman behind the counter eventually took over from this strange, arrogant young woman and was much more professional! The staff who brought the food, on the other hand, were very polite and polite. The wait time for each round was also very long. Next time, we'll definitely choose a different restaurant; it was all really disappointing. It used to be much better there!

Food from the grill was burnt, even the order that was redone. It was not that busy so take care of the food. Ready-made things fine. All the meat was not okay and even the squid rings were limp. Unfortunately we have been coming there for years. Last time for now.

Meager food as in the quantities per portion. The girls who served us were very nice, but clearing the table immediately after putting down new dishes is strange to them. And sitting outside on a cordoned off piece of square was also quite atmosphereless. No music, and then without sun, in the wind it is quickly unsociable.

There were staff walking around that were not interested. One walked like a snail and constantly tugged at his pants. The food: downright mediocre. Late, cold, rushed.... Sometimes you were waiting 30 minutes for something while the next round had already been brought. BE SMART, SKIP THIS LA CUBANITA!

I had dinner here on a Friday night with 1 other person. The food tasted very good, although some dishes came much faster than others (sometimes up to a round later). Furthermore, the service was also good. It was not very busy for a Friday night so you could easily hear each other. All in all a nice and tasty experience and definitely recommended.

We had a great meal, but you notice that the service is not yet fully trained, putting dishes on the table without any knowledge of it. Most dishes were good but some meat dishes were below average and not warm. Furthermore, I advise to keep the restaurant clean. There is dust behind the benches and you can also see the cobwebs along the ceiling and speakers. So not a bad experience but room for improvement. The food at la Cubanita is always good, this time again we had a delicious meal. The atmosphere of this restaurant is a bit less than I am used to from other Cubanita's.

Service worse than bad. Despite online reservation only a 2 person table for 3 people. No other place because unfortunately we are full. Sorry sir have a nice evening! So that means never making a reservation at La Cubanita in Ridderkerk again. That will be Delft or Dordrecht. Advice for everyone... La Cubanita is always good but definitely don't go to Ridderkerk!

We enjoyed the delicious dishes! Was our first time here and had a nice experience. Delicious virgin cocktails too, not expensive. Can recommend this restaurant to everyone. Even though they forgot our cheesecake :(

Delicious food. All tapas were nice and warm. Friendly staff. Due to a malfunction we could not order via our mobile phones but in the old way. This worked fine, staff often walked by to collect the order forms so it was solved well. Unfortunately we really miss a few dishes from the old menu... hopefully they will return someday. The only downside we find is that the music is often just a bit too loud, which makes you all talk louder and louder.

We read some bad reviews, so we were worried. We thought it was fine, better than expected. It does take a long time to get the food. But if you order in the 10 minute flow, it will be fine.

Not good... I had to wait half an hour from the first order and it kept getting longer. The food also became increasingly lukewarm and tough. The desserts didn't come at all. We had been there for almost 4 hours and we were more than fed up. Terribly disorganized in the kitchen. I felt sorry for the 2 young girls serving. What they all have to endure and have to justify while they can't do anything about it.

Well that was another setback. Reserved for 2 people, upon arrival it turned out that there was only room outside (where it was too chilly) or at the bar next to each other. I think it would be better if you could indicate when making your reservation whether there is still room at a table inside or not, which will save you an unnecessary trip.

Ate here on Thursday 5/1/2025. This location is very disappointing for La Cubanita. After asking several times, we received the QR code to order 50 minutes after arrival. Drinks regularly took a long time. Also having to wait an hour while eating or having a cocktail and sangria. In the meantime, of course, ask questions and get a bottle of water. And then get an angry look too. Ordering food just didn't go well either. Waited 40 minutes for the first course. We did not receive several tapas, we were served hot tapas cold, etc. All in all, even at McDonald's the service is better than here!

Went here for dinner today (26/4/25, on King's Day). It was quiet at first, but later it became pleasantly busy. Ordering must be done via a QR code on the telephone. The food was delicious and the service was extremely friendly and quick. Until next time! 💪🏻
