The pizza was good and large, and the service was wonderful. The atmosphere was average, but perfectly fine. It was a bit noisy, but that's to be expected when the place is full. :) We would definitely recommend it.

We've vacationed in Zandvoort several times now, and we've gotten into the habit of either eating at Fontanella's restaurant or getting takeaway, mostly pizza – absolutely delicious, generously topped, everyone there is friendly, and the restaurant in town is also much more attractive compared to previous years on the road to the beach.

Having now tried four Italian restaurants in Zandvoort, we can say: this one is definitely our favorite! The restaurant's decor is rather simple and cozy, creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The service was attentive without being intrusive. They regularly checked to see if everything was alright and if we needed anything else – exactly as you'd want it. For starters, we had bread with herb butter and a Caprese salad. Both were delicious and expertly prepared. We were particularly impressed by the pasta primavera. The fruity tomato sauce was perfectly seasoned and a welcome change from the often dominant Bolognese or cream sauces found on many menus. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, well-seasoned, and had a pleasant hint of garlic. The pizza was also a complete success. The crust was by far the best we've had in Zandvoort so far: beautifully crispy, flavorful, and baked to perfection. We had a salami pizza, and you could immediately tell that they used high-quality salami. The slightly salty seasoning harmonized perfectly with the dough and further enhanced the flavor. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable visit with excellent food, pleasant service, and fair prices. We'll gladly return and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

We used to eat here a lot back in Alfredo's time, and that is what most of the good reviews are based on. The quality has really gone downhill. Two days ago, we ordered 3 pizzas for takeout. The first one was small. And I mean really small. The second one had chunks of dough in the middle with no sauce on them. 2 large air bubbles, 4-5 cm in diameter each, which, if you "prick" them, are basically just holes in your pizza. The third one was also small and burnt. Very disappointing. No more Fontanella for me. This isn't the first time this has happened, and apparently it's not an isolated incident; the quality has really declined.

We ate there on a recommendation and received a very warm welcome. We had a pizza with salmon, a Caprese salad with arugula and burrata, and pizza bread. Everything was delicious and fresh.

A bit pricey, but the pizza was incredibly delicious!! The tortellini were also great.

A cold, damp winter evening. We left Center Parcs to grab a snack. Since all the snack bars were either closed or looked unappealing, we spotted Restaurant Fontanella. It looked lovely from the outside, and there were already other guests inside. So we went in, even though we only wanted a snack. It was a great decision. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter. This impression was confirmed throughout the evening. The waiter spoke several languages, was very charming, funny, and attentive. For example, he pointed out that if you were very thirsty, it was better to order one large bottle of water instead of several small ones, as it would be significantly cheaper. This continued throughout the evening. Instead of offering an expensive grappa at the end, as is common in many restaurants, he offered us a small grappa to try, on the house. Very thoughtful. For our meal: We had bruschetta as a starter. At first, €9 seemed a bit pricey, but the portion was very large, the bruschetta delicious, and the accompanying oil and vinegar cream were of excellent quality. The pizzas were good, but not outstanding, though definitely recommended. The spaghetti carbonara was also good. To finish, we were offered a complimentary limoncello, a nice touch that isn't always offered. All in all, the visit was very enjoyable, and we will certainly return. Highly recommended.

The food (pizza and pasta) was freshly prepared, and the pizza had plenty of toppings. After ordering, it took about 10 minutes for the hot food to arrive. For our personal taste, it could have been a bit more seasoned...but that's purely a matter of taste. The seating was great, and the service was also prompt!

The pizzas were okay—not particularly good, but not bad either. What was truly subpar, however, was the service. Yes, the restaurant was full, but you shouldn't make your guests wait 30 minutes to order. Also, the cutlery was forgotten.

La Fontanella simply serves good food. My husband and I ate there twice and would certainly have gone back if we hadn't left. I highly recommend the Tagliatelle alla Romana (the best I've ever eaten). But otherwise, we only saw good things that were served. Whether it's pizza or pasta, you won't be disappointed here. Reservations are recommended; we only ordered a takeaway pizza the first time and then decided to eat there again the next evening. Super friendly and personable service, the pasta and pizza were excellent. They were flexible about my request to leave out the ham on the pizza and charged less for the pizza accordingly! The tiramisu was truly outstanding! The best we've ever eaten - we absolutely recommend it!

I ate Aglio e Olio with Peperocino. Neither the olive oil nor the garlic was particularly good, but both were very, very good. The garlic was cut very unevenly. The Peperocino didn't even taste like peppers. Unfortunately the noodles were cooked a little too long. There was some parsley. No spices - which is okay if the remaining ingredients were of better quality. After the service staff sent the food back, the same plate came back with slightly burnt garlic, spaghetti sticking together but better peporocino. In summary: Unfortunately the ingredients were of poor quality. The service tried very hard to compensate for the “mistakes”. They were very friendly and offered us a drink as compensation.
