Went here recently for my birthday - and it was like stepping into a dream! The afternoon tea was beautifully curated, with charming details, dreamy decor, and the most delicious bites and desserts ever! The host was warm, welcoming, and incredibly creative, she truly made my day special. If you’re looking for a magical, cozy celebration spot, this is it!

We had high tea for our wedding here. Lavinia was very careful with all insane dietary restrictions and preferences. Everything looked and tasted wonderful. She is very professional, yet friendly, easy going and funny. Her personal touch and the fantastic interior created a wonderful atmosphere. Everyone had the best time and we made a lot of cute photographs. Thank you for your hospitality, Lavinia!

The experience from start to finish was immaculate. Lavinia was very friendly and helped organise a little surprise party, the food was lovely, with a nice variety of tea and every corner of the place was the canvas of an artist. I’m hoping to come again :-)

Lavinia is a beautiful story. Starting with the cakes she serves and finishing with the wonderful person which she is. Her sweets are made with exquisite ingredients and a lot of love and this you can feel from the first bite. If you want to escape from reality and become part of a fairytale, this is the place to be.

Always a lovely atmosphere, a place close to my heart

A fantastic place, everything is superlative. Such a warm and beautiful atmosphere, a sweet and friendly host, all the desserts are sensational. I recommend it with all my heart.

We had booked a high tea here with friends. It looked fantastic, decorated and served with attention, but I would not recommend Lavinia or come back again because the price/quality is out of balance. Three friends had paid €7 extra for dietary requirements (vegetarian, lactose and gluten-free €46 p.p.), nice that this could be taken into account in the first instance. But in practice there were hardly any vegetarian savory toasts, the vast majority contained meat and fish. In terms of sweet snacks, there was mouse, spirula mouse and chocolate cakes, which crumbled as soon as you put your fork in it. Little choice or variety. Because the coffee machine was broken, only coffee diluted with cardamom was available. The teas were fine, and those without allergies had more choice, but they too were disappointed by, among other things, a lack of taste. We had a pleasant afternoon, but if you have to pay extra while you get much less for it, that is not entirely appropriate. Maybe at least some pastries or fruit for high tea in the future?

Yesterday I had my bridal shower, and it was too notch service! I loved every detail and care it was given in the food and with the hospitality and love of the owner, it made my day even more unforgettable! Definitely recommend, me and my girlfriends enjoyed it to the max (also halal in food which made it for us even more amazing)!

We visited Lavinia’s beautiful café yesterday for my son’s 7th birthday high tea, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Lavinia organized everything wonderfully and was an excellent host, welcoming us warmly into her stunningly decorated space. Her lunchroom feels like a fairytale—almost like stepping into Alice in Wonderland! The high tea selection was incredibly varied, with everything handmade and crafted with care. Each bite, especially the mousse treats, looked straight out of a food magazine. The homemade cake with mousse filling was divine…. You won’t easily find this level of quality anywhere else… for a special birthday cake, Lavinia is definitely the one to go to! She even takes care to present everything beautifully, and the coffee was great too. She truly goes above and beyond to pamper her guests. Lavinia also offers workshops, and I’d love to join one to learn how to set a festive table for my own guests at home. Being there gave us such a wonderful feeling; I genuinely felt happy in that space. Her cakes and pastries are unique, exclusive, and absolutely delicious. All the praise to her! Een verschrikkelijke ervaring! Werden gediscrimineerd door de eigenaresse en zijn vervolgens opgelicht. Toen we aankwamen liep ze na het brengen naar onze tafel gelijk terug naar haar vriendin en bleef daar kletsen. Er was dus totaal geen service. Vervolgens begonnen we met eten en letterlijk alles was mouse en niet vers. We gaven aan dat we het jammer vonden dat er geen service was en dat we het eten niet zo lekker vonden. Vervolgens gaf ze aan dat ze altijd andere soort typen klanten heeft en dat wij daar niet bij paste. Het kwam hard aan bij ons. Vervolgens na discussiëren gaf ze aan dat we niet hoeven te betalen en weg mochten. Vervolgens een week later kregen we een brief van de politie dat we het volledige bedrag moesten betalen. Een echte oplichting want we konden nu niet meer aantonen aan de politie dat we letterlijk 2 hapjes hebben gegeten van het eten en heel veel over was. Jammer dat ze zo met mensen omgaat.

Tasteless food and a very bad experience. We feel completely ripped off. Everything was mousey and you couldn't call it mainly savory high tea.

Bad experience with very bad service. At the start of our high tea we had to make contact several times, while we chatted with friends the whole time. We then gave feedback on the food, which was very disappointing. It was indicated that we did not have to pay anything and that we could leave. A few days later we received a message from the police and we still had to pay the amount. Definitely not nice considering it was not our initiative to just leave. Very sad and very unfortunate. Unfortunately I can't give more stars

Horrible experience! We got robbed from our money! Food is not tasty and after she said she understand and said we could go and not have to pay since we did finish the high tea. She also made us feel like we were discriminated because she called us out that we are not her “ normal clients”. A week after she send the police and we had to pay the full amount if they have come that time they could have seen that we did not finish the high tea this is a SCAM PLACE!

We spent a delightful afternoon at Lavania’s who fitted us in at short notice and was a delightful host. An afternoon tea with a difference, a secret find!

Zwaar ‘overrated’. Afternoon tea slaat nergens op. Kant-en-klare cupjes en toastjes van Haust met mousses die nergens naar smaken. Geen sandwiches, geen mooie patisserie (die je juist bij haar zou verwachten) en ‘bonbons’ die gemaakt waren van ‘mousses’ waar teveel jelly in zat en ook geen smaak hadden. Mevrouw zelf had het te druk met andere zaken. Dit was de tweede keer dat ik er was. De eerste keer was precies het zelfde. Mevrouw had het toen te druk met haar laptop. Beide keren was ik uitgenodigd.

This is a review of the high tea I had here. I don’t understand the positive reviews here, but maybe I have a different palate. While the interior, the table and the food looked absolutely amazing, the taste of both the savoury and the sweet foods were totally bland. All the food was already on the table as we arrived, which I don’t like but that is a personal preference (how long has the food been sitting out there? The toastie with the fish??) The sweet foods consisted mostly of mousse. No cakes, scones or anything else that actually had flavour. Just things that looked like fruit (it did look fantastic) but was actually mousse and tasted like nothing much. The tea was good, the cappuccino was below average.

Just had a delicious High Tea. Everything was made by hand, pure products and with attention. And personal and friendly service. Recommended!

Went there for High Tea with 8 people and everyone was amazed. The cakes and savoury snacks were delicious. We all skipped lunch and nobody left hungry. Lavinia herself was super friendly and attentive and the place itself is almost magical. I can only recommend going there!

Personal attention and good quality food.

Overall, over visit was excellent and the decorations were very 1800's. I felt like I was Marie Antoinette - vintage objects, cosy cushions and magnificent paintings. The food was also delicious! The tea was served in fancy pots and cups that made me feel like I was in a palace, too!

Oh, a must-do once in a life time memory we will never forget. So beautiful! We all felt like we were in Alice in Wonderland. For a special birthday celebration, we ordered the high tea -- rose petal tea, ginger and lemon and divine black coffee -- highly recommended -- which was served in priceless Royal Albert China (we peaked under the cups), hand-embroidered white-lace tablecloth, on top of which were served exquisite sumptuous savoury and sweet divine perfections -- all made with natural ingredients. We were in heaven! I highly recommend visiting Lavinia when in The Hague, bookings in advance via text, indicating time and number of persons was well received. A perfect birthday experience that will definitely never be forgotten. Thank you, Lavinia, for making it perfect. Forever grateful, Jean

For a beautiful birthday, with perfect savoury and heavenly sweet perfections made with natural ingredients, the best high tea I have ever had, far surpassing London and a Dubai high-end hotel that I was lucky to visit -- I hate to name drop, but it was special. The white lace tablecloths and Royal Albert fine china and beautiful fresh flowers put me back in a time and place when my mum was alive. She would take my sister and I to high teas on our birthdays. Lavinia is a true artist, and indeed, it was a pearl in my necklace of divine life experiences. Highly recommend.

We had a high-tea at Lavinia's this weekend, and we had an amazing time! What other people are saying is completely true: Lavinia doesn't just serve fabulous pastries, but creates a stylish, cozy atmosphere all while staying really genuine and welcoming.
