It was pure coincidence that I came here because these wonderful people picked up my phone from the street and safely put it back home. Everyone should give this a try; the food was insanely delicious and there was so much to it!! Nothing but praise for this place 💗

Try it! We didn't read on Google that we needed to make a reservation in advance, so we found the door locked. After a phone call, they opened it especially for us—it was really nice and delicious! 👌🏽

The food was delicious, tasted really authentic. Very nice people and a pleasant atmosphere.

Finding this almost by accident was a God Send! Greeted by the Chef/Owner and welcomed in reminded me how much 1st Impressions count! I opted for takeaway as I was working at a venue opposite. Had a Pattie and an Oxtail Meal with Salad! Wish I could give it all 10 Stars! The complimentary (Martini) Glass of Sorrel was a nice touch and very much appreciated! 150% would visit again and eat in!

Let’s start to say that Joy is a beautiful soul and human being. I brought my dad in little Jamaica. And we’ve got the best experience. We immediately felt a warm and welcoming feeling. The interior, the music and the vibes. And thennn the food!!! Oh god, it’s amazing! Literally the best Jamaican food what I’ve got! The Chef Joy welcomed us very hospitable and the food was super fresh and delicious. They even have a VIP area where you can eat intimately...we will come more often.

Authentic, Delicious and Great Hospitality!

We tremendously enjoyed the food here - it was absolutely delicious. The chef herself welcomed us hungry guests. The stew and chicken, bean rice, plantain, dumpling and patty are packed with flavour, colors and textures. The dumplings are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and the taste remains in your mind even after you finished eating. Be advised to reserve your spots and pre-order to ensure you get your preferred menu items! They also do catering.

Yesterday, we had an amazing time at Little Jamaica! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Joy, the owner, a truly kind and heartwarming lady. The food was absolutely delicious, tasting just like a homemade meal. Each dish was thoughtfully explained, with stories behind them that added a special touch to the experience. The mocktails were fantastic, complementing the flavors of the meal perfectly. Not only did we enjoy great food and drinks, but the entire experience gave us back a touch of our Caribbean heritage. The atmosphere, flavors, and hospitality made us feel right at home. Overall, we had a blast, good food, good laughs, and a truly special connection to our roots. We had ackee and saltfish and jerk chicken. As an appetizer, spinach with shrimps and patties. How wonderful the food is! Super tasty and delicious. The owner is super attentive and likes to have a nice chat. We also received 2 Pathe vouchers as a surprise gift. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Jamaican food.

We had dinner here last Valentine's Day and it was delicious! From the curry to the jerk chicken and the oxtail – the meat literally fell off the bone. 😍 The hostess was wonderful, just like your favorite aunt. The location is also easy to reach by public transport or car. Definitely recommended!

I am extremely disappointed in the service and customer friendliness, even though I have not even eaten there. I called to ask what the options were regarding reservations. When I go to the website via Google, I am immediately redirected to a contact form where you have to leave your phone number for reservations and where you can call a number for requests. This made it unclear to me, so I decided to call to be sure and out of curiosity about the possibilities. To my surprise, I was asked repeatedly and in an irritated tone if I had read the website yet. I didn't have that, because the link does not point directly to the homepage. Instead of kindly explaining to me that they are closed in January, I was redirected curtly and disinterestedly. This could simply have been done differently, by saying it clearly and kindly. My enthusiasm for eating here has completely disappeared after this experience. Too bad, because I really wanted to give it a chance.

What a lovely experience! I ordered the jerk chicken menu, curry goat menu and patties for pick up the next day. The communication with Joy was very pleasant as she explained what was included in the menu's and also what time would be best to pick up my order. Pick up went smoothely and the food was packaged well and still warm after an hour drive! The patties were very easy to warm up in the oven according to Joy's instructions. Everything was delicious, well-seasoned and had the authentic Jamaican taste as you would expect. It made me feel like I was back home in the Caribbean☺️. I'll definately order again.

How nice to discover a little piece of Jamaica in Haarlem. I picked up curried goat patties and beef patties. Baked in the oven at home (with the clear instructions that came with it) and then enjoyed. Recommended! The delicious Jamaican coffee is also not to be missed. Thanks Joy!

Tafel voor 2 personen gereserveerd. Door file en omleiding in het verkeer zijn wij 30 minuten te laat gekomen. De eigenaresse reageerde na onze verontschuldiging direct onvriendelijk omdat iedereen maar laat komt. Na nogmaals geprobeerd te hebben wat ons overkomen is, Liep zij weg naar een andere ruimte. Wij zagen een aantal tafels welke niet gebruikt werden en hebben een tijdje staan wachten tot de eigenaresse hopelijk terug zou komen. Na een tijd lang wachten hebben wij boos besloten om deze bistro te verlaten. Zo zijn wij nog nooit behandeld. Daar rijd je een klein uur voor om Jamaicaans te kunnen eten. Eens maar nooit meer!!!!

Definitely worth repeating! The food that was served was delicious. The restaurant is not very big, but that actually adds to the atmosphere and homely coziness. Tip: There is paid parking on the street, so I recommend using a parking app.

Absolutely delicious Jamaican food! Wonderfully spiced, great flavours, and just overall fantastic. I was really happy to finally eat Jamaican food after having that wish for quite some months. Wish I lived closer so I could eat it more often haha. Oh well, I will definitely come back whenever I'm in Haarlem :)

Because we were staying in Haarlem for 2 weeks, we were looking for something that you don't think of first. So we ended up at Little Jamaica on Sunday evening. Wow! What a nice spot this is. We were kindly helped by the owner. On her recommendation, we started with the beef patties, which came with a delicious salad. Main the chicken curry and the jerk chicken. Again very tasty. Next time we will eat less in the afternoon to have room for dessert. Super nice to have discovered this and a reason to take the train from Amsterdam to Haarlem more often. Top!

Wat een fantastische plek is dit! De supervriendelijke eigenaresse en tevens kok neemt de tijd voor je, maakt een praatje en grapje met je en geeft je goed advies over het eten. De ambiance is erg knus met uiteraard de fijne reggae muziek op de achtergrond.Met zelfs een gedeelte achterin de zaak waar je 'in private' kan eten met je partner. Het is niet heel groot, dus even bellen voor een reservering kan handig zijn. Het eten is simpelweg fantastisch. En exact zoals het in Jamaica smaakte tijdens een eerdere vakantie. De beef patty bijvoorbeeld is goddelijk (spicy op een goede manier). Deze patty's kan je ook afhalen. Helaas voor ons niet op het tijdstip dat we weg moesten, anders hadden we ze zeker meegenomen. Hopelijk gaat Joy dit online aanbieden met een webshop, dan bestellen we 1000% zeker. Bij een volgend bezoek aan Haarlem komen we hier absoluut terug.

We truly enjoyed our food here. The amount of rice to my opinion could be more. My Jerk chicken was very good. Tastefull and marinated perfectly! The owner Joy makes the food with love and joy! That was traced back to the taste. The little salad on the side also caught my attention. Loved the cranberries in it! Good combination.

Incredibly tasty food with perfect portions, the menus come with a lot of different things but it wasn't an overwhelming amount of food. The flavors were great and everyone working there was very friendly. We will definitely be back. One thing is that if you want to come it's definitely worth making a reservation.

I reserved this via social deal. my reservation was canceled twice shortly before time. When I was finally allowed to come, I was fifteen minutes early and an unpleasant comment was made about that a few times!! even though I had canceled twice and had not made a big deal about it. the soup was very tasty. I had the jerky chicken. the portions were very small. I certainly didn't go home with a full stomach, the chicken was very dry. the rice and coleslaw nothing special. I was super disappointed after I had only read good reviews. a friend had a reservation via social deal last weekend and this was also canceled. very unreliable

Heerlijk lunch in een gezellige ambiance. Aardige eigenaresse die je echt op je gemak stelt en aandacht schenkt. De Pompoen/kippensoep was erg smaakvol. Evenals de Jerk Chicken en de gevulde pannenkoek. De vulling bestond uit ijs, rum en vruchten. Het is ook mogelijk om te bestellen en af te halen.

The atmosphere is very cozy. The restaurant feels like a living room. Joy is a wonderful hostess who immediately makes you feel very welcome. In addition, the food is very tasty. Authentic and everything is fresh. My Jamaican dining companion felt like he was eating at his family's kitchen table at home in Jamaica. Highly recommended.

One 2 occasions now, Joy has prepared my christmas dinner for myself and my family. On both occasions her service was excellent. She was so kind and beautiful and has such a great spirit. The food was on both occasions also very good. My christmas dinner this year was so delicately prepared and I'm am so happy and grateful for her service and food for making me and my family so happy. We recently visited you and specifically requested oxtail. Upon arrival there was none and we were given jerk chicken. This one was cold after I had to wait for my table companions' plates. Taste was hard to find. Side dishes also taste not as they should be. Beef patties are offered afterwards, but unfortunately not seen... all in all a major disappointment!

The food is good, but the service takes around 2 hours if you have no reservation. Other table was reserved and the people arrived at least 45 minutes after, but they also were served 45 minutes before. It totally kills the experience. The prices on site are higher than in the online menu, so be ready for that.

What a treat to have eaten here! Can safely recommend everything I had: rum punch cocktail (well balanced with the sweetness), Jamaican patties as a starter. The brown stew was great but the jerk chicken was the star of the show with all the different flavours. Do yourself a favour and drop by here.
