We eat here regularly. The food is always good and tasty. Unfortunately, the service during our last visit was exceptionally poor. We had to wait a very long time for the dessert kart and were "forgotten" several times by the same waiter. When I asked for a spoon, we were brought a decaf coffee, and desserts during the main course. Very strange and a shame.

We used to come here regularly; the service has really deteriorated. It's a real shame.

Tasty food. Price of side dishes very expensive

After 8 years, we were guests at your place again last night, all the way from Friesland. A quiet Monday evening, enjoying a lovely meal outside with the same menu as the first time. Everything was well taken care of and we had a pleasant conversation with one of your staff members. What a fantastic location it really is. And what a shame that your outdoor areas, with their borders and planters, look so neglected. It really detracts from the image you want to project. Advice: claim monthly maintenance from management once everything has been properly refurbished. Good luck with it, greetings from Friesland.

Mistake after mistake. - We had to ask twice if our table could be cleared. - 5 slices of bread for 4 people; asked twice if we could get extra bread. Extra bread arrived after 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the gravy was cold. - Ordered the classic 3 times and the small once; the waiter indicated that the kitchen had made a mistake, because we received the classic 4 times. It would be corrected on the bill. Later it turned out that we simply paid for 4 classic steaks. - The 2nd round of drinks arrived at the same time as the bill. A bit late! We come here regularly, but this was a really bad experience.

Fast and good service, and the food is, as always, delicious and of good quality. The steak, in particular, is truly amazing. Nowhere is it as tasty as here. Moreover, the surroundings within the Volkspark are very beautiful. In the summer, the view is stunning.

Last week, we ate at Loetje for the second week in a row. There was a problem with the food, but it was resolved more than excellently. The service was friendly. We will definitely be back. Delicious food, although next time I will order the sauce separately.

We had a gift voucher worth no less than 100 euros, but it turned out to be expired. We didn't know this because there was no date on it. Loetje was completely unwilling to compromise and referred us to their house rules. They were inflexible, any leniency proved impossible, and everything was handled in a cold and impersonal manner. They earned their money without delivering anything in return. Dramatically bad customer service!!! What an impersonal, customer-unfriendly company!!!

On July 15th, we dined at your restaurant with 8 people. Due to some car trouble, we arrived late, but were still welcomed. A few points of attention. The waiter almost dropped a steak while serving; the plate was crooked, and gravy spilled on my bag and on the floor. No apology; he corrected it quickly and I think we didn't notice. That was bad enough. But then he served the steak and wiped the edge where the gravy had spilled with HIS FINGER, then wiped it off on his apron. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. Additionally, my extra gravy was "forgotten"—that can happen—but the nice guy said, "I could ask the chef to make a pot, but that would take a while," so I said, "Never mind, because by then my steak would be cold." Next, the mushrooms were "forgotten," and we mentioned that. He came back with 2 (?) Portions of mushrooms and said... "Yes, these were from another table, but they can just wait a bit." Next, we mentioned that there were onions on the table that we hadn't ordered, and when we asked if they could just take them off the bill, his colleague said, "Oh, luckily they're just small onions." This comes across as, "Oh, it's only xx euros." No one can decide whether that is a lot or a little money for people, right? Maybe we had to save up for a very long time for this dinner... This is a shame. The whole place was almost empty, so it wasn't because it was mega busy. Both my husband and my son work in the hospitality industry, so I have more than respect for the hard work. However, when something like this happens, you always treat the customers with respect, offer a brief apology, clear the plate (in that situation), and clean the plate neatly with a clean cloth and say sorry. Or you take it to the kitchen and correct it, because the gravy was immediately much less good as well. Food 4 stars, because the steak and the gravy were still very "light." And so things didn't go quite right. Otherwise, a beautiful location! We went again today and had a delicious meal. I gave the points for 2 evenings. Spent 800 euros at Loetje in 2 evenings; we are big fans. But try not to do this...

Very disappointing experience. After dinner at Loetje, we wanted to pay with a gift card. To our surprise, it was not accepted. No expiry date was stated on the gift card itself. Fortunately, the employee understood the situation and contacted his manager. We were subsequently told that they could not do anything about it at that moment and that we had to contact headquarters. It was indicated that this would likely be easily resolved. The next day, I contacted customer service. There, I was told that, according to their system, the gift card had expired a few days earlier. Because the expiry date was registered internally, I received no refund or compensation. However, the problem is that this expiry date was not stated anywhere on the gift card itself. As a customer, it is impossible to know when a card expires if that information is not visible. What disappoints me most is that the thinking is primarily commercial and not from the customer's perspective. Given the circumstances, there was ample opportunity to offer a customer-friendly solution. Instead, internal rules were strictly adhered to, while the information on the gift card itself was incomplete. For us, this is a reason not to return. There are plenty of restaurants where customer satisfaction does come first.

Super beautiful little cafe in the heart of Enschede! The natural surroundings of the Volkspark make Loetje an ideal stop for a break. The extensive menu and options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks make Loetje a perfect destination for all occasions. With modern indoor spaces and green outdoor areas, Loetje offers plenty of options, just as many as the friendly staff. So, weather permitting, you can enjoy your break indoors or outdoors.

Very disappointing experience. Upon arrival, we asked if we could sit at another table where there were only two empty glasses. The waitress said she had to clean that table first and that we were therefore better off staying at the other table. We did not consider that hospitable. The staff was unfriendly and chaotic. We ordered one crème brûlée, but two were brought to the table. We immediately sent one back because we hadn't ordered it. However, it turned out afterwards that we had paid for two crème brûlées. We only discovered this after we had left, meaning we paid too much. Additionally, it took a long time for the food to arrive and for the dirty plates to be cleared. No more Loetje for us.

Terribly bad, expensive, and only open until 9 pm. Lights went out. We were there around 7 pm; you walked through an empty room, had to go to a reception desk, and were served after waiting 11 minutes. Very hospitable indeed. We were seated at a very small table in pink lighting. It was cold and very uninviting. The starter arrived immediately; we hadn't even finished it yet when the main course arrived. Poor quality, small portions, and we were rushed out at the end—the lights went out! We didn't know that the restaurant closed at 9 pm on late-night shopping evenings (Thursday). Afterward, garbage bags were dragged all over the floor. That was really unacceptable. Very unprofessional, and what restaurant closes at 9 pm? Then don't host people for dinner.

Friendly welcome. We had a truly delicious meal; both the fish and the steak were excellent. The food was served quickly. Pleasantly cool inside, even with 37 degrees outside. Friendly staff. The only criticism is that our drinks arrived when the dessert was already finished and the salad and fries plates hadn't been cleared yet. Otherwise, top-notch and definitely a place to come back to.

The very first time I ever ate at a Loetje was here. This was not long after they had opened. The carpaccio was tasty, but I wasn't impressed with the meat; even before I had finished half of it, the ‘gravy’ had dried up like curdled cooking butter in an old pan. Not very appetizing. And I didn't like the whole Loetje concept at all. After this, I went to Loetje in Gorssel a few times, where I didn't have this experience, so I thought maybe it was just a bad day. After all, I'm from Enschede, so I'd rather drive 5 minutes than 50. The second time here was also a very disappointing experience. The table was in a very uninviting corner with uncomfortable chairs, and the temperature wasn't very pleasant either. Additionally, the food was lukewarm (fries and meat), and it took a long time for everything to arrive; finally, the taste just wasn't the same as at the other location. And then you would think third time's the charm, because yes, I went here again, also for a birthday, so not my choice, but anyway, we'll play along. And once again, it was one big disappointment. The meat was lukewarm again and instead of medium rare, it was simply cooked blue; no wonder it was lukewarm then, of course. I like my meat on the rare side, but this just made me nauseous. Also, the food was served in a strange order, meaning one half had had their food sitting for a while before the other half arrived (group size 5 people). All in all, very disappointing at this place, and after giving it 3 chances, I won't be coming back. If you want good quality, you have to go a bit further, but then you really get what you pay for.

Last Saturday, as we do every year the weekend after King's Day, we went out for dinner with a group of 6. We ordered two glasses of Chardonnay. The waitress kindly explained the options: a French or a Californian. The Californian wine tasted so bad that I thought it was past its expiration date. I drink wine regularly and I really didn't like it. Everyone at the table tried it, and no one liked it. I mentioned this to the waitress, after which the waitress indicated that several guests had sent this wine back earlier. She went to consult and came back with the message that they could remove one glass from the bill because it was supposedly a matter of "taste." We found that a disappointing response. Even more striking was that another employee later told me that "he thought it was delicious and that I just need to develop some taste." I found that quite inappropriate. The waitress herself was otherwise friendly and nice, but this whole state of affairs made the evening less enjoyable for us. A shame, because we have enjoyed coming here for years. Unfortunately, we are choosing a different restaurant next year.

Nice staffs I can say different flavors of foods but overall in a good way I expected to sit outdoor with sun but even in sunny day there was no sun there

I had been looking forward to eating at Loetje so much; everything was fine and good... until my girlfriend and I both ordered a Coke but received the wrong drink. All I said was, "I ordered a Coke." Apparently, the waitress couldn't handle that and started yelling at me in the middle of the restaurant, telling me that I could just indicate that in a "normal" way. When he came back with the Coke, I asked him if he always has that attitude towards customers. And then he started raising his voice again, saying that he mirrors his behavior with customers (so he meant me). My entire appetite, experience, and atmosphere were ruined. Well, Loetje, that's really not how you keep customers, because I'm never coming back here if I can't even indicate what the correct order was without being personally attacked. The young man didn't come back to serve our table either... if you can get that emotional as a waitress, you'd be better off quitting your job. I was just asking for my Coke; I wasn't trying to treat you as inferior or anything like that. It's not that difficult to just indicate that something went wrong and that you will pick up the right drink. What a shame, what a shame, what a shame.

The food was warm and tasty. As expected at Loetje. Nice location and easy parking. Service could be better; we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken and they forgot about us several times when taking our drinks and dessert orders. Once the order was placed, it was served quickly.

Cold steak, swimming in a puddle of greasy mess supposed to pass for gravy. Served on a cold plate, causing the lukewarm steak to cool down even faster. "Otherwise the steak will keep cooking, sir…" If serving steak is your core business and you don't have this under control, then there is something wrong with your concept. Furthermore, a small bowl of greasy and far too salty fries and a container of salad dressing in which, after a good search, a few lettuce leaves could still be found. Smoked salmon as a starter was okay; steak tartare was a lump of glorified steak tartare, but less tasty. Add two beers and just like that, 124 euros poorer. Fortunately, the Volkspark in Enschede is a venue with history and atmosphere, but even so, they will never see me back here. Bad. Very bad.

Everything was covered in an extra layer of salt. But the service was fast.

We were there on a Tuesday evening. The place was half full, and the interior was empty and chilly. We had to wait a very long time for service, but we soon discovered this was because they hadn't anticipated the crowd. The starter came for one of the two people, and the other arrived 10 or 15 minutes later. The main course was cold, and we'd waited so long that we just accepted it. We ended up skipping dessert because we didn't want to wait any longer. We certainly don't blame the staff for this, but I wouldn't recommend anyone go there. The atmosphere is simply not cozy or pleasant, and the food isn't as special as it once was.

The steak was delicious, but the sauce (sambal gravy) was like a jar of salt, and I refused to eat it; it was truly inedible. The fries were completely covered in a BUMP of mayonnaise, which should have been served separately for diners who prefer not to have mayonnaise; I had no choice. The salad wasn't much, but thankfully it was tasty. €90 for two people was far too expensive for a glorified cafeteria menu. The service was friendly, but the ambiance was like traveling back 50 years in time—absolutely not exciting. All in all, a waste of time and a waste of money. A complete waste of time to ever go back there... And judging by other reviews on other sites, we could have saved ourselves this. So, it's our own fault for an unpleasant evening.

Great restaurant in a comfortable atmosphere. Good vibe and professional and friendly staff. Food is great, especially the sambal and garlic steaks. The cook on the steak is perfect. Seating in separate booths and tables is much more comfortable than on the bigger couches (if you get a chance to give a preference for either).

The food was delicious, and the homemade iced tea was also very good. The staff was friendly, but sometimes it took a while to get served. It was a Saturday evening, and it was quite busy.

We had a wonderful meal at Loetje Enschede! The atmosphere is warm and cozy, exactly what you'd expect from Loetje. Such a waste of money. I don't know what happened to Loetje, but it's nothing like it used to be. The service was incredibly poor and expensive. On a Saturday night, they closed at 9:30 PM, and the food tasted awful. Not a great evening for such a huge amount of money; I felt completely unwelcome. Such a shame for such a beautiful location.

Loetje Enschede is our local spot and it has never disappointed us. The food is always great, but it’s the service that truly stands out. The waitress even remembered us from months ago. It is the perfect place for a relaxed evening with good food and a glass of proper South African wine. Also lovely to visit in the Autumn when the Volkspark is at its most beautiful.

Last night I went to dinner at Loetje with a friend. It was great that we could arrive half an hour early after a phone call. We even asked if we could have a quiet spot, and they accommodated us. Everything was already in a wonderful Christmas atmosphere. We were quickly and friendly assisted, and the service was quick and very welcoming. The food was delicious and looked beautiful and well-presented. For dessert, we had a delicious cream puff with ice cream. One minor drawback was that the meat was lukewarm, but the flavor was excellent. I will definitely be back.

The food was top-notch, as was the service. Personally, I find the price a bit on the high side, but the quality of the food is simply very good.

Unfortunately, even though we enjoy eating there, it seems to be very complicated to place a "reserved" sign on a table when you make a reservation. With all sorts of strange excuses and reasons, they indicate in Enschede that this is simply not possible. So reserving and asking for a specific table is pointless! The only thing you know (almost) for sure when you reserve is that you will be assigned a seat. Is this when you are overtaken by your name of success and therefore feel that you no longer have to do certain things (which are possible almost everywhere, like reserving a table)? We will go to another "Loetje" where we can actually reserve a table and our wishes are truly honored. Good luck, but I don't think you can treat (regular) customers like that. They serve the best steak here at Loetje, and the service is also damn great

An experience I never want to have again, what bad, what bad food was cold even when they put it on the table for the second time when I said I was done with it, they brought it for a third time after putting it in the microwave for a minute. I will go to McDonald's, the food is better than here.

Great lunch at Loetje. We ordered a variety of sandwiches and we all were very happy. I had the best crunchy chicken with miso sauce. We dined outside; lovely atmosphere. Our waitress could have been a bit more welcoming but overall, a wonderful experience.

Price quality ratio not very good

There was no host or hostess in sight, and no guests at the tables. It was incredibly quiet upon arrival! After waiting several minutes at the entrance, we finally spoke to someone who told us to find a table ourselves. We ordered drinks and food and indicated that we had an appointment and could continue with our meal. This was no problem. Drinks were brought promptly. After a 45-minute wait (and no service in sight), still no food, so we searched for the waiter. The waiter was once again chatting with friends on the other side of the restaurant. The waiter inquired with the chef, who had forgotten to tell us what to do, so we had to wait even longer. We finally received two steaks, one of which was fine. Nothing special, but not bad either. The other tasted absolutely awful. The gravy was burnt, and the meat was burnt and tasted absolutely awful. We complained to the waiter and then had to leave due to other commitments. Never again for Loetje!

Our first visit to Loetsje turned out to be a disappointment. We had a reservation for 5:30 pm, and when we arrived the restaurant wasn’t very crowded. Our drinks came quickly, and we ordered nuggets with fries for our child. As a starter for ourselves, we ordered carpaccio. The waiter brought us two plates and, when they arrived, we asked if our child’s meal could be served faster since he was already hungry. The waiter kindly said “of course” and left. However, our food only arrived about half an hour later (past 7:00 pm), and our child’s meal came right after. Whether the food quality was worth the wait is debatable, but we definitely didn’t enjoy the experience. The service was extremely slow, and even when it came to paying, we were kept waiting. The waiter politely asked if everything was okay, and I explained our dissatisfaction. She mentioned it was a misunderstanding. While I can’t fault the waiter’s kindness, the service and overall quality were disappointing.

This Loetje has a beautiful location and is also very nicely decorated. The terrace is also highly recommended. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and very quick.

Hugely disappointing. Very little choice if you don't like steak. You can choose vegetarian, a few unusual options, mini salads, a poke bowl with cheap ingredients, or chicken satay skewers. The latter was tasty, but very simple and small, especially considering the price. Loetje uses a lot of tricks to squeeze as much money out of you as possible, but that alone spoiled the fun for me. High prices are okay if the food is good and the portions aren't too small, and please, no tricks. For example, they deliberately omit euro signs, and you order side dishes separately at high prices. If you want sambal jus, you pay an extra €2 for a spoonful. If you feel ripped off, you'll never go back. This is the most expensive restaurant in Enschede, so for these prices, you can choose from any restaurant; there are plenty of good alternatives in Enschede!

A truly beautiful location! The food and service were excellent! Definitely recommended.

The park offers a beautiful view from the terrace. The food was reasonable, a bit too greasy for us, with a lot of gravy and tasteless. Initially, the service was excellent, but after the third and fourth glasses, we had to wait, which was resolved promptly.

Heerlijk eten gehad, hele leuke sfeer alles binnen was top. Wouden we na de tijd nog een drankje doen in Enschede centraal dus de auto laten staan, komen we terug is de parkeerplaats afgesloten en moet ik mijn auto laten staan. Staat nergens aangegeven tot hoelaat de parkeerplaats open is.

Definitely the best steak I've ever had. Nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The just with white bread is also super tasty! And very nice staff.

On Sunday around half past two we came in. It was very quiet at that time. We immediately got the impression that the staff did not enjoy their work because of the many tables that were still full of plates, cutlery and food leftovers from previous guests. Waited 20 minutes until someone was at our table for the first time. The meat on the sandwiches was floating in the fat. For us the first and last time loetje enschede.

The food was delicious. The interior could use an update. It could all be a bit more atmospheric.

We had a great meal at Loetje in Enschede. Our reservation was at 5:00 PM. That gave us plenty of choice of places. We sat in the conservatory by the window (back of the building). For us, the chairs were a bit less, but that is personal of course. The food was great. A steak tartare as a starter. Great taste and also a large portion! The steak bali is recommended. Please note that the steak is served in a plate full of gravy. If you don't want that, ask for the gravy separately! We will definitely come back.

Entered through an uninviting entrance, pointed to a recently used table that smelled of rotten eggs. Helped by noticeably unmotivated staff. The first plates that were put down were not for us, and were simply put down a few tables further after a few minutes (yuck). The meat was soft and tender, but the gravy was excessively salty. Amazing if you can still taste meat at all. All the salty food made me thirsty and ordered a drink that was then not brought. Service is inhospitable, slow and messy. Beautiful location, pleasant service and especially delicious food, we were with 9 people, and we all agreed that this was not the last time for us, Some references are neither here nor there, if we had wanted to drink for an evening, we would have gone to a pub, if you order a steak with gravy, you also get gravy, and that is how it is on the menu! Pretty okay, but could be even better: Since Loetje opened in Enschede, I have been there once before. This was a mediocre experience, but since it was a new restaurant I thought it was unfair to leave a review. Unfortunately, after more than a year, everything has not changed. I remember very well that a year ago I had to wait half an hour for drinks and had to pick up my own cutlery for dinner, but today exactly the same thing happened again. It is not the fault of the staff but clearly the management, the staff are friendly and do their best. But there was 1 person serving the terrace with perhaps 50 customers. Customers at the table next to us also had to pick up cutlery themselves and walk to the bar to order something to drink, because otherwise it would take too long. The food itself was tasty, but I thought the gravy contained a lot of oil to the point that the gravy was more green/yellowish than brown in the middle of the plate. The leaves of the lettuce were really gigantic, in my opinion they could have been a bit smaller. But the steak was well prepared and really medium rare. A huge plus: a great terrace outside.

Extremely bad service, we waited a long time until we got a table, while many staff members were already walking past us but they did not help us. It then took a very long time for them to request drinks and it was not busy, so we ordered drinks via the QR, then someone came and told us that we had ordered via the QR, but that was not good because according to the system we were on the other side of the building. The food is tasty, but very little for what you pay. 40 euros for a 300 gram steak, not normal!!!! Then a dessert with praise that it is tasty and then ask if it is strong because we didn't have much room left, but it did look tasty. And she had never tasted it before, she then said. So it's all very strange. All portions very small and extremely expensive. This was my second time and this was also a 2nd attempt because my first experience was much worse. In my opinion, not recommended, at least not in Enschede.

We visited Loetje for the first time and had mixed feelings about the experience. The service was friendly, but seemed rushed and not always attentive. For example, we had to beckon twice before the first drink and after the main course before anyone responded. The burrata starter was tasty, but the eel seemed to come straight from the package and the tartare was very large. Clumsy. The steak was tender, but unfortunately not well prepared. Medium was actually raw, and the raw-medium variety was only seared. The sauce was way too salty for all of us; sprinkled too liberally with the salt shaker. Unfortunately, this was not compensated with, for example, a cup of coffee or another gesture. For the high price of the meat (195 grams), we also thought it was poor that you had to pay more than €3.50 extra for a bowl of apple sauce (not compote, as stated on the menu). The fries and sweet potato, also on the pricey side, were limply fried and noticeably saltless, which was almost ironic after the salty sauce. The dessert was generous and okay, but it wasn't good enough to make us come back. After that there was no more staff to serve a drink. All in all a once in a lifetime experience for us.

Met z'n tweeën naar een buitenafplek genavigeerd. Waren nog veel gezellige plekken. Werden aan een schoon gemaakte natte tafel geplaatst. Fles wijn besteld. Blijkt met glazen ben je goedkoper uit (raar). Eten besteld geen brood bij geserveerd. Salade besteld. Niet ontvangen. Biefstuk was goed ondanks deze afgekoeld lauw was. Met honger gevoel naar huis. Als compensatie. Fles water inkoop 65 cent gratis. Kost op de kaart 6.50. Bediening bijna niet gezien. Klinkt negatief, is het ook je betaald de hoofdprijs. Niet voor herhaling.

Heel kort maar krachtig: Waardeloos vlees Waardeloze bediening Overdreven duur voor wat je krijgt en waar je zit. Het vlees zwom in een bad van vet en boter, smaakte naar absoluut niets behalve verbrande boter en was ondanks het (te) rode midden net een stuk leer. Verder vind ik voor de prijs de presentatie van het eten lachwekkend, het is gewoon een blok vlees in een bad van boter. Heb ik al gezegd dat er meer boter dan wat anders op mn bord lag? Bediening was meer bezig met haar vriendjes aan de tafel er naast en wij moesten maar wachten want ze was nog aan het kletsen. Na het eten allebei hartstikke misselijk en uiteindelijk kwam alles er zo weer uit. Nadietijd maar als troost naar de mcdonalds, zelfs dat was beter

We hadden 6 weken van te voren gereserveerd omdat we in de buurt op vakantie waren. Nog 2x een herinnering via de mail ontvangen, komem we daar aan op 30 april krijgen we te horen dat de manager te weinig personeel heeft ingeroosterd zodat er wachttijden van een uur waren voordat je eten klaar zou zijn. We zijn toen net zoals meerdere klanten weggegaan. We zijn al in heel wat Loetjes geweest maar dit nog nooit meegemaakt. Nu we de recenties lezen is dit al een langere tijd aan de gang. Zonde dat je z'on leuke zaak zo om zeep helpt.

Voor mij nooit weer, zit je rustig met je drankje wil je eten bestellen. Probeer je 40 minuten een ober aan te spreken maar ze kijken nergens na. Heb je hem eindelijk te pakken. Is er een opname stop voor de keuken kun je nog langer wachten. Het is dat de rest perse wou blijfen anders was ik direct opgestaan en weg gegaan

It was actually disappointing. Messy operation. Food took way too long. Forgot fries, wrong steak and they rarely came by for a drink. Had to wait more than an hour for a steak in a plate of fat (no gravy!). And it wasn't even busy. You can't argue with overtaste, the steak is otherwise fine, but that plate of fat was really overdone. Expected more for that money.

Had dinner with 2 people on Saturday the 18th. Extremely disappointing experience. Staff is friendly, but very rushed. There doesn't seem to be any order in who does what or manages which tables. We ordered drinks twice, and of course meals, but each time we almost had to tackle a staff member running past to place an order. The specialty (steak) was disappointing. We were also not asked how we wanted the steak cooked. Mine turned out to be raw-medium, my partner's was closer to raw. Not really tasty either, and a lot of threads in the meat. The price/quality ratio was completely lost. Together we paid just over €90 for 2 steak(s), salad, fries, 2 soft drinks and 2 wine. If the quality is good this is not a problem, but that was not the case here. The (sweet potato) fries (€6.75) and mixed salad (€6.75) also do not live up to their high price tags. The white wine was quite tasteless. Had eaten at Loetje once before years ago (Utrecht), and unfortunately that experience was not much better than this. Also considering many other reactions here, I am afraid that this is our last Loetje 'experience'.

Restaurant oogt prima maar de ossenhaas biefstuk Bali was niet te eten. Wat ongelofelijk zout. Melding gemaakt na twee happen maar reactie was dat dit de Bali biefstuk is. Later nogmaals melding gemaakt bij collega met excuus en dat het een veel gehoorde klacht is en dat ze het zou melden…. Ik lees hier veel reviews met zelfde melding en jammer dat er dan niets mee wordt gedaan. Geen Loetje meer.

If you like a nice piece of steak, it is definitely recommended to visit Loetje. The restaurant is attractively decorated, the staff is friendly and not unimportant, they have their own blond beer on tap, "Loetje Blond". Food is good with a traditional concept that does not deviate from. Thought it was a bit pricey, but certainly nice to have eaten once.

Vandaag bij Loetje gegeten, maar helaas was het allesbehalve een fijne ervaring. We bestelden twee biefstukken, maar de bediening, een jonge man, vroeg niet hoe we deze gebakken wilden hebben. Niet veel later kregen we ze rare geserveerd. We vroegen op een vriendelijke manier of ze medium gebakken konden worden. De biefstukken werden meegenomen, maar vrijwel identiek (nog steeds rauw) teruggebracht. Toen we nogmaals vroegen of ze iets meer doorgebakken konden worden, zagen we de kok zichtbaar geïrriteerd met z’n handen op z’n hoofd terug naar de keuken lopen. Vanaf dat moment kwam er niemand meer aan onze tafel. Er werd niet gevraagd of alles naar wens was en we kregen ook geen gelegenheid om nog iets te drinken te bestellen. We voelden ons niet welkom en hebben ons eten snel opgegeten, vooral omdat we het gevoel kregen dat we zo snel mogelijk moesten vertrekken. Wat ons het meest verbaasde, was dat we later zelfs tot twee keer toe de schuld kregen: we hadden zelf moeten aangeven dat we de biefstuk medium wilden. Bovendien werd er boos gereageerd toen we vroegen of de biefstuk nog wat meer doorgebakken kon worden, omdat de keuken al schoon zou zijn. We voelden ons daardoor bezwaarlijk, alsof we iets verkeerd deden door het terug te sturen. Bij andere Loetje-locaties wordt altijd gevraagd hoe je je biefstuk gebakken wilt hebben. Echt jammer dat deze vestiging daarin zo tekortschiet. We zijn uiteindelijk met een rot gevoel naar huis gegaan, en dat is natuurlijk niet hoe je een etentje zou moeten afsluiten.

Ate at Loetje today, but unfortunately it was anything but a pleasant experience. We ordered two steaks, but the waiter, a young man, did not ask how we wanted them cooked. Not much later we were served them strange ones. We asked in a friendly manner if they could be cooked medium. The steaks were taken away, but returned almost identical (still raw). When we asked again if they could be fried a little more, we saw the chef walking back to the kitchen with his hands on his head, visibly irritated. From that moment on no one came to our table anymore. We were not asked if everything was to our liking and we were not given the opportunity to order anything to drink. We didn't feel welcome and ate our food quickly, mainly because we got the feeling that we had to leave as soon as possible. What surprised us most was that we were later blamed twice: we should have indicated ourselves that we wanted the steak medium. Moreover, there was an angry response when we asked if the steak could be cooked a little more, because the kitchen was already clean. It made us feel bad, like we were doing something wrong by sending it back. At other Loetje locations you are always asked how you would like your steak cooked. It's a real shame that this establishment falls so short in that regard. In the end we went home with a bad feeling, and that is of course not how you should end a dinner.

The service could have been better, got the wrong order, then waited a long time for the right one. The steak tasted slightly burnt, while last time it was perfect. The dessert was delicious. Mixed feelings about this restaurant.

I visited with my daughter, her husband, and two grandchildren, and the staff were friendly and the food and service were both good. There was a mistake with the bill, but they dealt with it right away. I recommend this restaurant.

Loetje is just so nice sometimes, you know what you're getting and that's great.

I was here today at 5:30 PM with my family and waited 30 minutes for service. I raised my hand for them to serve us. Two employees looked at us and turned away, as if we were not seated. We left the restaurant without eating or drinking anything.

Food is great, service is very friendly and goes above and beyond. But organizationally a disaster today, such a shame! We had made a reservation, but you had to wait in line for at least 20 minutes. Then we waited a while at the bar and then we got a table. That's what I expect if I haven't made a reservation. Then everything continued at the same speed unfortunately.. Had 1 drink all evening simply because you couldn't order more, and we didn't dare to do it anymore at a certain point because I don't think it will be served until tomorrow. This does not seem to me to be a very good revenue model, and in any case we will not return after such an experience. It also seems very frustrating for the employees themselves, it really wasn't their fault.

Loetje's steak Bali with white bread is highly recommended! The steak is super tender and perfectly cooked, and the spicy gravy gives it that little bit extra. The white bread is ideal for dipping up the delicious sauce. Simple, but incredibly tasty!

At Loetje Enschede the steak was really great, tasty and definitely worth the price. Unfortunately, the hamburger was quite disappointing, it had no taste at all - even a McDonald's burger was tastier. We also thought it was quite expensive for what you got, especially the extras such as fries and salad. We ordered sweet potato fries, but they were far too little for the price. The staff was friendly, but it became a bit disturbing that they were recommending extras all the time. All in all, it's a bit of a shame that the extras got the focus, the location is otherwise very beautiful

Delicious food, and very nice service by Yael. He helped us a lot and we could also laugh with him. Besides that, the food was delicious, highly recommended. We will be back!

Its story is interesting. About 45 years ago, Café Loetje's aim was to become a successful billiards hall. The story begins when founder Ludwig 'Loetje' Klinkhamer, who dreamed of a place where the occasional omelette or meatballs would also be served, accidentally put tenderloin steak on the menu. Partly because he had worked as a butcher in his past. It has been a great success. Delicious fries with a delicious variety of meat and potatoes in a sauce with its unique aroma. It was delicious.

8:00 PM reserved. After several minutes someone came to 'greet' us. Not very professional or nice, he asked us to take a seat at the bar because several couples already had to take a seat in the front area to wait, despite the fact that there are at least 10 tables free, but not in use, in the restaurant. After waiting 10 minutes, a colleague came out stressed and asked if we would get the appetizers because we had to wait so long, it was meant for someone else... after waiting 15 minutes we were still not asked for a drink or how long it would take. . Ended up eating somewhere else. Good food normally but shame about the service and professionalism. Lots of improvement potential.

Beautiful location, beautifully spacious, super friendly service and delicious food! What more could a person want?

Everything we ate was tasty. Just thought it was very pricey. Especially if you also have to pay for the side dishes.

I knew Loetje from Rotterdam and was blown away by the restaurant there. When I saw that Loetje was also available in Enschede, I decided to surprise my mom with a meal there for her 60th birthday. The food was also very good, only the lunch menu was a bit small. Bread was supposed to be served with the beef fillet, but there were only four slices of untoasted sandwich toast, which were carelessly placed on a plate, which was a shame and didn't really look high quality. The service was super friendly, quick and accommodating. The ambience wasn't great as half the restaurant had been cleared out, perhaps because of the Christmas parties, but it didn't look inviting at first. The toilets also urgently needed cleaning. Nevertheless, the restaurant is very centrally located in Enschede next to a large park.

We ate a good steak, very tasty. The dessert was also tasty. Where the service lagged behind is the drinks. We had a drink during the main course, but then it took a long time until someone from the service came to us (whom we tried to call/signal) to answer something. After dessert we were asked if we had enjoyed our meal and then the waitress quickly walked away. We wanted to have a cup of coffee afterwards, but this took at least half an hour to three quarters before we were contacted again by someone from the service. What I thought was a shame is the atmosphere in the restaurant, the building used to be very attractive, beautiful dark wooden accents. Unfortunately, Loetje tried to make something modern out of it. With emphasis on tried, there is no atmosphere due to the lighting and the incorrect layout of the rooms. This also means you enter a large empty space, which immediately creates no atmosphere. Very unfortunate.

Mooie locatie, in het Volkspark. De ontvangst was zeer hartelijk en de verdere bediening ook top! Je kunt hier rustig met je tafelgast praten, zonder dat je buren de gesprekken kunnen horen. Het is ruim, met hoog plafond, waardoor geluid goed weg kan. De biefstuk was goed gegaard. De balisaus (met sambal) was op zich lekker en sambal/biefstuk een goede combinatie, maar men zou de zoutpot bij de balisaus met veel meer beleid moeten gebruiken. Verder tipte de bediening de saus los te vragen vanwege de scherpte. Goede tip: ik vond de saus niet scherp, maar ik bepaal liever zelf hoeveel saus ik op mijn biefstuk doe, dan dat mijn biefstuk in een heel bord saus drijft. Ik ga ook wel eens alleen uit eten. Dat zal ik hier niet snel doen. De bijgerechten zijn niet inbegrepen, waardoor je patat en groente los moet bestellen. Deze porties zijn echt veel te groot voor één persoon. Als dessert hadden we het gouden toetje van Loetje. Deze smaakte heerlijk.
