Lucas in Wijk 06 Binnenstad

We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and an avocado sandwich. The avocado sandwich had large chunks of feta, which was really out of proportion. No special taste and no special bread. The grilled cheese sandwich was nice and crispy but there was red cabbage on it and for the rest you didn't taste much else. I've wanted to go here for a while but we won't be back. Too bad. There was also a man smoking outside and the smell came all the way inside, very nasty.

Very nice café with a few tables. Not too small, not too big. A very friendly waitress who even served us in German, even though our English is relatively good. The breakfast was delicious and enough for five people. Thank you very much 😁

What a nice place this is! We were greeted nicely upon arrival and got to taste something that was pineapple hummus... delicious! We had a lunch voucher and were surprised with a delicious bread board! Everything fresh, the taste of the different dishes that enhance each other. I asked for something nice to drink, she asked if she could surprise me... and wow... super tasty drink! And also the closing cappuccino with chocolate cake... delicious! The atmosphere, the hospitality, just great! We would love to come back soon!!

I quickly stopped by for a latte. Super good and fast service (it was quiet, but still!). Most importantly: the coffee was delicious. If you say "f*ckkk" to yourself very softly after every sip, you know it's good. I will definitely come back 🫶🏼 (and the cup certainly doesn't leak and is easy to hold)

Very tasty food!! We had the kimchi sandwich, delicious sourness and spice, highly recommended! Nice, casual atmosphere and quick and very friendly service.

Tip: take the breakfast board (available until 3:00 PM). Fresh, tasty and portions for the good eater. People friendly and attentive. 🙏

The fermentation and pickling workshop was great fun! Learned a lot, all questions were answered and I was able to make a lot myself. There was a good cozy atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

It's a cute little spot, but the food left something to be desired. My friends got the lunch platter and I got the pea spread bowl (sounds better in dutch). We also got kombucha, matcha and coffees. The kombucha (both rose and coffee flavours) were very good though on the small side portion wise. The matcha was too earthy for my taste. The lunch platter looked boring to me, to be honest. I could whip up something similar out of my own fridge. My smashed pea spread was generally flavourless and required quite a lot of pepper to make it interesting enough to want to eat — even with capers and other stuff, it was super bland. The bread it came with was also soooo toasted it was basically a cracker. That's not my preference. I got the chocolate cake as well, and it was just OK. That's kind of the general impression I had: just OK. Everything could have used just a bit more attention to flavour and spice. I eat vegetarian and vegan most of the time, and I know it doesn't have to be bland, so that's no excuse. Service was also lackluster. We had to wait a long time to be served and didn't get things very quickly either. Maybe Lucas was just having a MEH day 🤷🏼‍♀️

Cozy breakfast spot with yummy food. We had the breakfast platter to share and it was amazing. The staff was also really nice and helpful. Can totally recommend!

The fresh ingredients are rich in taste and the presentation is so exquisite. I feel that every breakfast is nutritious and made with care. My friend ordered the white asparagus soup, which was very sweet. In addition, his jams are also excellent and made from real ingredients. If you like jams, you must buy a bottle. It's just that the menu is a bit ridiculous...even it's in English😅 The only weakness is that the meal service time is quite slow. After we ordered, we had to wait for more than half an hour for breakfast😴🥱

My favourite hidden little gem in Utrecht. Lucas has such a lovely atmosphere, two lovely owners, and the food and coffee is simply great! We keep coming back here, week by week, sometimes day by day, as a great coffee in a great coffee house with a great conversation can make your day!

Best Kumbucha in town with lots of variety

My favorite brunch spot in Utrecht. I’ve been coming here for 5 years now at least once per week when in NL. Love the quality of their products like coffee, tea, matcha, fermented natural kombutcha , the creative and passionate food and off course for the warm atmosphere Recommend it 10 out of 10 :D

We order for 4 people and everything was very good quality. Many options, vegan or not. We will definitely gonna come back.

Very, very delicious baked oats, but the bowl was somewhat small, and I was still hungry afterwards. I wouldn't consider it to be a full lunch meal. Other than that, the place was very nicely decorated and the staff was friendly.

Attended a pickling and fermentation workshop, it was fantastic. Especially because Lucas spoke passionately and inspiringly about the processes and that it is mainly about experimenting and tasting. We immediately started using Kombucha at home 😁

Finding high-quality sweet treats that are both gluten and lactose-free has proven difficult and scarce to find. I was excited to try both the chocolate and carrot cake - they were both exquisite. The chocolate slice in particular was moist and memorable and will be the one to bring about my return. I also ordered a chai latte which was genuinely spiced. The space is small but cozy and fairly quiet. There is a single desk/table that can be used by a customer that wishes to work with a laptop otherwise laptops are not allowed in the eatery. Sit quietly by the window with your thoughts while the intent staff prepares your order.

Met een broodje eiersalade en een broodje geitenkaas. Lekkere broodjes en royaal belegd. Fijn plekje met vriendelijk personeel. Tip voor de eigenaar, pas je menu op de website aan, prijzen en opties zijn niet actueel helaas.

We had a very good experience at Lucas for our breakfast. The staff is super nice/helpful and the food was matching what we were looking for! Nice vegan/vegetarian options and we loved the Banana bread :)

Fantastic breakfast, with such excellent coffee, I had to have a second cappuccino. Interesting offering of kombuchi, brewed on site... I think they offer classes.

Lovely veggie and vegan restaurant - really friendly staff who spoke great English which is a plus for me! I can't comment on the food myself but I think people were saying they wanted a bit more flavour to the pickles and hummus! Drinks were lovely, particularly their home brewed kombucha!

I had a really good breakfast here. The cappuccino was pretty good and the yogurt was quite tasty. The fruit seemed fresh. The staff was great and really welcoming. I suggest to go to this place, it’s worth it. *update: They have this (questionable) no laptop policy where only one table is allowed to have laptop. I had to leave because the laptop table was already taken, despite the fact that the cafè was basically empty! (There was only the customer with the pc).

quite good coffees. nothing special cakes. we were impressed that laptops were not allowed. as soon as we opened them the waitress came and told us that they are forbidden. let them tell us from the beginning not to sit down since we went to work.

De koffie is er erg goed en er is relax en fijne sfeer.

Hele fijne sfeer, super vriendelijke meiden en het bananen brood is echt een aanrader! De ijskoffie was heerlijk, je kan er goed en uniek eten krijgen.

Love love love everything about this cafe! The chill vibe, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff are topped only by the fresh, original food. Be sure to taste the unique, delectable vegan banana bread and (honestly!) any other vegetarian dishes. You'll be pleasantly surprised! I highly recommend taking a friend so you may share 2-3 different options. And the tea and coffee! All these pluses make Lucas worth visiting again and again.
