Lunchcafé van Drimmelen in Centrum

Today, after browsing some shops, we decided to grab a bite to eat at @lunchcafevandrimmelen. Beautiful day today, and plenty of choice for whatever you prefer... Espresso isn't coffee, but hey, they're still people. So thank you for the warm hospitality and the good Norman.

A wonderful spot in Hilversum! Van Drimmelen is highly recommended. The sunny terrace is a lovely spot to sit, especially on sunny days. The service is always friendly and helpful—they even recognize you and remember what you ordered last time, which makes it extra personal. Inside, the decor is cozy, warm, and stylish. Don't forget the apple pie; it's truly delicious!

This almost feels like a hidden gem in Hilversum. It's honestly one of, if not the, best lunch place. The service is super fast and great, the staff is friendly, the food is delicious and there's plenty of choice, and the price is very good too. Sometimes they do evening events as well, and you can really tell the owner loves and cares for his restaurant - it makes the place very homely. I'd absolutely recommend going here if you want to have a lovely time.

Unfortunately, we only had a drink, but the service and staff were great—nice, sweet, and friendly! Sitting outside is lovely, the atmosphere is very relaxed, and the inside is very chic! The toilets and restrooms are very clean!

There was a bit of a wait despite the wide range of staff. Apparently they have a code of conduct there, if you don't fit in, you are simply ignored. Fine, but that was not known at the time. Finally, after waiting (too) long, I received a bowl of ditch water that most closely resembled warmed-up piss served by an extremely unmotivated latent unkempt niece. Well, it was a day out in our own home, but the hospitality is hard to find there. We did not feel comfortable there, which became apparent when paying. Then again ignored for many years despite the understanding looks. After fifteen minutes of looking for attention like a rejected seal and being ignored for so many chain, we just left... Well, then they come into action. We did not intend to walk away without paying, but in other ways we were systematically ignored while the money-makers around us received the necessary attention. Apparently you have to throw money in a decadent way to get attention. And, put on the right clothes because if you don't like them you will be completely ignored by the male. This camp executioner is more suited to selecting individuals based on appearance than to manifest themselves as a decent host/operator. After a few visits I can say that this establishment has dropped from a 9 to 4.5. Very insufficient nowadays where "the male" has the most biased attitude. Evil creepy type...

Delicious lunch on Sunday afternoon. The food was very tasty, albeit a bit plain. Staff was very nice and friendly.

Rude staff, I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you want to have your day ruined.

Had a nice lunch on a beautiful sunny afternoon. But unfortunately that was not the case Ordered a 12 hour deluxe Dry casino sandwiches with croquette, some lettuce and ham, cheese and a little soup for €15 We said something about it, but we heard it with a bunch of whining faces So we won't go here anymore

Terrible service, very customer unfriendly! When I ordered two double espresso’s, after explaining that it was for two persons, I received a quadruple espresso in one big glass. Mistake, can happen.. after explaining that this wasn’t my order, i decided it would be a waste to send it back. Afterwards I was presented with a four double espresso (4 times espresso) of 10+ euro’s on the bill. Insane if you ask me. After, again, explaining that this wasn’t my order, I was answered that it was what I ordered and that I should pay for it… Not the slightest sense of customer friendly service.

Have had lunch here several times and had a delicious meal every time! Super friendly and fast service, even when it's busy.

The 4 of us were sent away because 1 person didn't have to order anything. Then a bald dude intimidates my girlfriend. (which you just shouldn't do, being respectful is not very difficult.) 3 people wanted to order something so they didn't even make a profit anymore. Antisocial and just disgusting how we were treated. Don't come here!

We had dinner here after the recommendation of De Bunker. The Italian and the Salmon were very tasty. Very sufficient in quantity. Coffee was good too. Customer friendliness top. The toilette is in good order. Nicely decorated authentic. I think a dog in a restaurant is a bit less, but for someone else that is very nice. The employees are an asset to the company.

Ordered 2 croquettes with bread, got them instead of fries. Croquettes were fried far too dark, so that very little filling was created. Owner said that a new croquette was in the fryer. After waiting about 15 minutes, I asked the owner where my croquette was. The 2 croquettes were cut, they were of the same quality, so I didn't get new croquettes. An older waitress claimed that the croquettes were always served this way and that the croquettes were good. After much unpleasant discussion, my grandson paid the bill. Conclusion clearly stated, that I will not have lunch here again!

Nice place, good coffee and pastries, but the service is not exactly friendly. Especially the owner and the sturdy lady who greets you with a "Well, enjoy it!" seems to be fooling you in the end and therefore does not mean what comes out of her mouth at all. Find another job if you don't like your job; Customers are your salary, mortgage, vacations.

World business. Operator with his heart in the right place. Where the customer is still central! If you are in Hilversum, definitely recommended!

Heerlijk gegeten Vreselijke bediening Ongemanierd, kortaf, totaal niet klantvriendelijk

Hier geluncht met mijn moeder. Ze had een lekker broodje met carpaccio. Ik had zelf een broodje met zalm en tonijn. Prima broodje maar de tonijn was zo uit het blikje op het bord gelegd niets mee gedaan. Een kwak mayonaise er naast. Verder niets mee gedaan. Heel jammer. Maak er een lekkere salade van was veel lekkerder geweest. Toen de serveerster vroeg heeft het gesmaakt en ik zei hier wat van. Ja tonijn in olie. Idd niet meer en niet minder. Dus heel saai. Das 1 keer en Nooit meer.

Halve dag in Hilversum geweest en uiteraard een Uitsmijter Kaas ( op wit Brood ) genuttigd. Een geweldig groot terras daar, met andere woorden daar wil je gewoon zitten.

Lekker gegeten . Aardige bediening

Eten was super lekker. Maar bediening moeten ze snel vervangen. Kort af, kon geen lach van af. Vragen niet of het lekker was en toen we eerst naar de kaart wilde kijken werd gezegd...nou ja je bent er al dus.. duidelijk niet geschikt voor horeca. De kok was wel erg vriendelijk.

Vriendelijk personeel en lekkere broodjes, wij gaan hier graag regelmatig naar toe, ook voor een glaasje wijn......

Heerlijke lunch met vis, service was uitstekend en vriendelijk. Mooie locatie.

Het klinkt misschien raar maar mijn hart was na twee keer gestolen zo vriendelijk en gezellig heerlijk om op het terras te zitten.

Wij hebben op een fijn terras een heerlijke krab en eiersalade gegeten.De jongen die ons hielp was vreselijk onaardig.Zelfs groeten bij vertrek kon niet.Maar de dame die de drankjes bracht was super aardig..dus zij maakte het weer goed.

Wij zaten heerlijk buiten op terras.Krab eier salade besteld..echt heel lekker.We werden door een zeer onaardige jongen geholpen...de dame die ons de drankjes kwam brengen was precies het tegenovergestelde en heel vriendelijk.Bij het afrekenen weer heel vriendelijk geholpen.De jongenman kon zelfs niet eens groeten bij weg gaan.Jammer

Lekkere koffie, goed eten en lief personeel.

Zeer goed gegeten! Je krijgt veel waar voor je geld. Vriendelijke mensen en leuke plek in de stad. Aanrader.

Zoals altijd vriendelijke personeel en gezellige mensen om ons heen, en tegelijkertijd een lekkere lunch genuttigd.

Fantastic terrace and cool ambience inside. Food is meh. Uitsmijter on white bread comes with untoasted wonderbread and hard cooked eggs.

One of my favorite lunchrooms in Hilversum. A diverse menu, so something to everyone's taste. The coffee is tasty and good, the beer cold and fresh. The personnel -who are always friendly- has a lot of steady faces, people who work there for a very long time, which in my opinion speaks highly of the place.

Was top weer en topplek. Fijn erg fijn.

Wr voelde ons niet echt welkom. Het was niet druk. Niet even helpen met mijn moeder die moeilijk ter been was. Sfeerloze bediende. Te kleine tafeltjes , zeker als je er met 2 of 3 personen van moet eten. Wc boven wat lastig is voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. Voor mij niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

We hebben een cappuccino hier gedronken. Verder was het een eenvoudige tent.

Ik kom hier 1 tot 2x per week. Gewoonweg goed.

Het gezelligste en meest vriendelijke lunchcafé in Hilversum en verre omgeving. Een heel gevarieerde menukaart en hartelijke mensen in de bediening.

Heerlijk genoten van de Dudok appeltaart met echte slagroom. De jasmijnthee van Peeze was ook erg lekker!

It was cold outside, looked quite from the outside, amazingly, once you enter the inside.. full .. ambience is so cozy, spotless . . Food was simple but so delicious, portion is nice for simple lunch 👌

Eigenlijk gaan we nooit naar Hilversum terwijl redelijk in de buurt wonen. De stad is gezellig. Hangt een lekkere sfeer. Leuke winkels. We zijn naar van Drimmelen gegaan omdat het er leuk uitziet en het personeel ons uitermate vriendelijk uitnodigde. Er is dan ook niets aan te merken op het personeel. Ze zijn vriendelijk en attent. Helemaal prima. Alleen de lunch. Gewoon onsmakelijk. Het broodje van de maand was pikante kip. Het bleek een prut van overgare kip met snotterige - veel te lang gegaarde - groenten. Wat vies. Het broodje carpaccio rook een beetje vreemd. Hebben we maar niet opgegeten. Wijn kan veel beter en te weinig keus. We gaan uit van een “bad hair day” van de kok….. kan vast veel beter.

How is it possible that when ordering lunch you can not have a glas of tap water? We ordered tosti and kroketten and when we asked for ketchup and mayonaise, 75 cents was added to our bill! Outrageous!!! Will never go there again!
