The tacos and Margheritas are delicious, and on Thursdays they even have a Margherita special for 5 euros! I always go there, and the price is fantastic :)

Food was great, so were the drinks and a lovely server called Tasman! Deserves a shoutout. Would recommend if you like Mexican food

The meat was absolutely terrible! And the chicken was also very bad. My stomach hurts from eating it. A terrible experience.

Thursdays margaritas are 5€ and still the same quality. The only issue is service was a bit alow but I think they are understaffed. My fav was shrimp taco, loved it. Beef was also great.

I found this spot while looking for a nice taco and tequila place to celebrate World Tequila Day. The staff sounded quite enthusiastic on the phone, and we managed to get outdoor seating, which was great since it turned out to be a quite hot late afternoon. We ordered all three Margaritas on the menu, plus a classic one again. For food, we tried all the non-vegan tacos and the tostada, and everything was delicious. The tuna tostada with smoked soy was quite special, and the carnitas was my personal favorite with its juicy pork and crunchy chicharron. The only downside was that one cocktail turned out extremely sweet. This happened even though I explicitly requested my drinks to go low on sugar. It must be due to the fact that we were helped by different waiters throughout the evening. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Very good food. But we had a bad experience because we were alone in the place and we asked to turn down the music, it was very loud and they practically left it the same!

What a fantastic experience on the Hoofdweg. The food was truly incredibly flavorful and everything looked beautiful on the plates. The tacos with the pickled red onions were an absolute must-try, in particular. I will definitely be back here soon to try everything on the menu.

Our first visit was on March 23rd and we had a delicious meal. We had the corn ribs (amazing), 3 different tacos (all very tasty), and for dessert, the corn ribs again (me Gusta mucho). We will definitely come back again. The staff was also super and attentive. 4.5 ⭐️ However, yesterday, April 2nd, we went to eat at MasMais for the second time, and that made for a completely different experience. Cocktails during “happy hour,” but mostly filled with ice cubes. We had ordered 4 different tacos, but the second round took so long. In short, 2 hours passed, we were still hungry, and they asked if we wanted to leave our table immediately while I still had a full cocktail. Which, by the way, I was allowed to drink at the bench by the entrance (the bench felt like getting punished at school or something). The person serving our table was not customer-oriented; it was quite rude to send us away like that, and there was no announcement anywhere about the last round due to the time. But you did have to ask for a review, so here it is: 2⭐️, this service ensures you won't come back!

Unfortunately our last visit can’t be compared with the previous ones. I fell every time I’m back the tacos are smaller. The carnitas tacos were very disappointing. I understand their process of bringing each plate at a time but this time it took a long time between plates, so it turns out a bit annoying of an experience when you are hungry (the place was not full, otherwise I would understand), also got my second drink by the end of my dinner, almost 20 min after we ordered, at this point I had regretted to order extra drinks since we had ended the dinner already. The drinks are the high point there. But for the price, unfortunately I don’t think my last experience there was worth it.

Amazing tacos as always. We live not far from here and they keep changing the tacos every so often so we will keep coming back. And the cocktail special Mezacal Montenegro Negroni deserves a spot on the main menu, what a drink !

It is a bit expensive, but compared to the price/quality ratio, it is a good deal. The Beef Barbacoa and the carnitas were amazing. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast.

best tacos e margaritas in town

It's Thursday, so the margaritas are 5 euros but very small; I think they do that on purpose so you order more. If you normally paid 10.50 for this, I would have sent it back. The food was tasty. Corn ribs and chilaquiles were good, and the mushroom taco was truly amazing. The Carnitas, Rajas con crema, and Chorizo ​​tostada were okay but nothing special. We knew our reservation was for 2 hours, but when chatting pleasantly, you sometimes forget the time. We had had one round of tacos, and the second round took a very long time, which was a shame because we actually wanted to order more tacos, but the waiter came over and (suddenly) announced that our time was up and we couldn't eat anything anymore or finish our drinks on what I considered a punishment bench. He wanted to sell us another round of drinks, but we said never mind, we'll do that somewhere else. I do think there should be a bit more leeway between reservations, because we, and other tables around us that ordered a lot, were simply kicked out. Even though we knew about a 2-hour reservation, you really need to handle this differently and present it to your guests, rather than begging for a 5-star review. It's a shame, but I won't be coming back.

We had such an amazing night at Margarita’s & Tacos, and a huge shoutout to Taz (T-A-Z)! He was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and full of great energy, he really made the whole experience next level. The drinks were flowing, the food was on point, and Taz made sure we had everything we needed all night long. He checked in at all the right moments and kept the vibe fun and relaxed. We told him we’d leave a 5-star review, and he truly deserves it. If you’re lucky enough to have Taz as your waiter, you’re in for a great night!

Great place for a cozy dinner. The vibes inside are very comfortable, the service was fast, and we didn't wait a lot. The chilaquiles was the highlight! The meats on the the tacos, very flavorful. They have a margarita deal, and it was really refreshing.

Very bad. They refused to serve us on a Saturday at nine o'clock at night, even though the place was full of people eating

Delicious, but you need about four tacos per person to feel even slightly full. That makes it quite pricey for a few corn tortillas with pumpkin or a little meat. The pumpkin tacos were very good, the beef was okay, but the cochinita pibil was disappointing.

Pretty good tacos, filling is a good amount and the taste is good. All-in-all a good meal. The flan could be a bit more stiff and the caramel coin can be a bit thinner. But still good though. Simply a solid choice that’s slightly on the expensive side.

Delicious tacos! A little gem or a find in Amsterdam. Great for gluten and dairy free. The staff were super helpful and there were lots of options including a very tasty orange and almond cake.

The atmosphere was great, small place, we had reserved for inside but were able to sit outside. Great service, friendly staff, the chef’s menu tasted excellent, the highlight was the beef taco All in all a perfect spot.

Lovely place and lovely food! I went crazy for the chilaquiles but also everything else was really enjoyable. We shared every plate (next time I won't share my chilaquiles!), tacos carnitas, barbacoa, cheese... From 17.30 to 19.00 margarita's are half price

This is one of my fav taco places in Amsterdam. Would be great if they would double up on the tortilla (which I asked for but did not receive). Also the portion of chips with the quac is quite sad… unfortunately today I went with a friend to be disappointed from the moment we arrived. We asked for a table for 2 only to be told they were fully booked, the place was clearly not so I booked online a table for 2. After being seated we had to wait 20 min to get an order in, no drinks were offered to compensate. We were told with a kind smile that is was just very busy today. Even a drink with a discount was not possible. A bit disappointing to be honest. After finishing our dinner we waited for 30 min, even tho I would’ve loved another taco I asked for the cheque

The margarita and tacos here were great. I also loved the vibe of the place. We enjoyed happy hour margaritas on a hot summer’s day which was lovely. On Thursday they had a special menu and we ordered the fish tacos and the mushroom ones- both really good. The service was also great. We came back the next day because we loved it here.

it’s just not a good place. we weren’t seated, then had to change seats a few times because “there were complaints” (but why didn’t you seat us right way straightaway..) food was odd - one of the tacos was super hot without any warning on the menu or by the waiter. drinks were alright. one of the most confusing places in this city that doesn’t get not cuisine nor service right. i’d suggest to avoid at all costs.

Wat een heerlijke buurt Mexicaan. Een chefs menu genomen. Van gegrilde maiscorn met verrassende topping tot een fantastische gevlinderde zeebaars en alle daar tussen was zeer smakelijk. De bediening attent.

Best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. Fantastic chef's menu where each course is served separately, which does justice to each dish. The nachos beforehand are still relatively standard, but the tacos (pumpkin, pulled pork and beef) were really great. Very nice service, a nice vibe and another part of Amsterdam to discover: a really great place!

Amazing margaritas and some dishes are also very tasteful. Only point of feedback is that the tacos tend to be soggy while it’s nicer if firm and even grilled a bit. I am sure the owner choose a certain Mexican city to inspire his carte on. I would say half of the carte is on point taste versus price quality. I hope it becomes a place open to later but the very bulky dark door isn’t helpful. Often people think it’s closed or very distant feeling.

Quite disappointed in a number of very basic things that a taqueria should get right: the tortillas for the tacos were cold, the agua de jamaica tasted like cough syrup, and the barbacoa was at best flavour-less and dry, and at worst, like a bad English beef roast; and no micheladas(!) - I don't understand what taquerias in Mexico this is based on. It was not all bad - the pumpkin tacos were tasty! We went for our wedding anniversary (my wife is from Mexico City) - which I noted on our reservation - and we were sat at the bar, and no recognition of the occasion. Last year, at a taqueria in Noord that starts with a C, they brought us a special cake with a candle as a surprise - it was so nice! MasMais has some things to work on!

Visited for the first time for dinner with my partner (Valentine's Day). The food was great, the service by all waitstaff was wonderful, and the atmosphere was also very nice. Half of the seating was around the "bar", which was actually very nice and I preferred this over sitting at a regular table (it was nice to observe the food and drinks preparation). Would definitely recommend visiting.

Such a great experience here last night! Some of the best tacos I’ve had in Amsterdam and the staff went above and beyond for us. A particular shout out to the chef - we ordered the veggie chefs menu and he’d over heard one of us ate meat. Although off menu he offered a meat taco to try too. The flavours were amazing and I was particularly impressed as the waitress told us it was one of their busiest nights. Our favourites: pumpkin taco & flan for dessert. We will definitely be back!!

Nonfussy leeeekker taco joint with great vibe. Drinks are on point. Menu is changing a few times a year so dont miss out. Small menu and everything hits perfectly. Sit on the right side of the bar so you can hang out with the chef ;)

Pretty good tacos, they offer both vegetarian and meat choices. Pumpkin is my favorite from the vegetarian menu and Tinga de pollo from the meat selection.
