Great place for a cozy dinner. The vibes inside are very comfortable, the service was fast, and we didn't wait a lot. The chilaquiles was the highlight! The meats on the the tacos, very flavorful. They have a margarita deal, and it was really refreshing.

Very bad. They refused to serve us on a Saturday at nine o'clock at night, even though the place was full of people eating

Delicious, but you need about four tacos per person to feel even slightly full. That makes it quite pricey for a few corn tortillas with pumpkin or a little meat. The pumpkin tacos were very good, the beef was okay, but the cochinita pibil was disappointing.

Pretty good tacos, filling is a good amount and the taste is good. All-in-all a good meal. The flan could be a bit more stiff and the caramel coin can be a bit thinner. But still good though. Simply a solid choice that’s slightly on the expensive side.

Delicious tacos! A little gem or a find in Amsterdam. Great for gluten and dairy free. The staff were super helpful and there were lots of options including a very tasty orange and almond cake.

Delicious food and a warm atmosphere. Although it's not large, it doesn't feel like you're sharing a table with others. We'll definitely be back.

I've been living in the area for quite a while and only now discovered this place. It's really good. Highly recommended, both food and margaritas!

The atmosphere was great, small place, we had reserved for inside but were able to sit outside. Great service, friendly staff, the chef’s menu tasted excellent, the highlight was the beef taco All in all a perfect spot.

Watered down pre mixed drinks, not recommended for people who enjoy margs :(

Lovely place and lovely food! I went crazy for the chilaquiles but also everything else was really enjoyable. We shared every plate (next time I won't share my chilaquiles!), tacos carnitas, barbacoa, cheese... From 17.30 to 19.00 margarita's are half price

This is one of my fav taco places in Amsterdam. Would be great if they would double up on the tortilla (which I asked for but did not receive). Also the portion of chips with the quac is quite sad… unfortunately today I went with a friend to be disappointed from the moment we arrived. We asked for a table for 2 only to be told they were fully booked, the place was clearly not so I booked online a table for 2. After being seated we had to wait 20 min to get an order in, no drinks were offered to compensate. We were told with a kind smile that is was just very busy today. Even a drink with a discount was not possible. A bit disappointing to be honest. After finishing our dinner we waited for 30 min, even tho I would’ve loved another taco I asked for the cheque

I love this place! Staff is really friendly, menú is small but delicious and fresh, and the mezcal Paloma is one of the best I’ve ever had.

The margarita and tacos here were great. I also loved the vibe of the place. We enjoyed happy hour margaritas on a hot summer’s day which was lovely. On Thursday they had a special menu and we ordered the fish tacos and the mushroom ones- both really good. The service was also great. We came back the next day because we loved it here.

These are some excellent and tasty corn tacos, with -changing- fresh fillings with a lot of flavor. No need to visit Mexico no more -for tacos at least-. Please open shop in Oost!

it’s just not a good place. we weren’t seated, then had to change seats a few times because “there were complaints” (but why didn’t you seat us right way straightaway..) food was odd - one of the tacos was super hot without any warning on the menu or by the waiter. drinks were alright. one of the most confusing places in this city that doesn’t get not cuisine nor service right. i’d suggest to avoid at all costs.

Wat een heerlijke buurt Mexicaan. Een chefs menu genomen. Van gegrilde maiscorn met verrassende topping tot een fantastische gevlinderde zeebaars en alle daar tussen was zeer smakelijk. De bediening attent.

Best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. Fantastic chef's menu where each course is served separately, which does justice to each dish. The nachos beforehand are still relatively standard, but the tacos (pumpkin, pulled pork and beef) were really great. Very nice service, a nice vibe and another part of Amsterdam to discover: a really great place!

Amazing margaritas and some dishes are also very tasteful. Only point of feedback is that the tacos tend to be soggy while it’s nicer if firm and even grilled a bit. I am sure the owner choose a certain Mexican city to inspire his carte on. I would say half of the carte is on point taste versus price quality. I hope it becomes a place open to later but the very bulky dark door isn’t helpful. Often people think it’s closed or very distant feeling.

Quite disappointed in a number of very basic things that a taqueria should get right: the tortillas for the tacos were cold, the agua de jamaica tasted like cough syrup, and the barbacoa was at best flavour-less and dry, and at worst, like a bad English beef roast; and no micheladas(!) - I don't understand what taquerias in Mexico this is based on. It was not all bad - the pumpkin tacos were tasty! We went for our wedding anniversary (my wife is from Mexico City) - which I noted on our reservation - and we were sat at the bar, and no recognition of the occasion. Last year, at a taqueria in Noord that starts with a C, they brought us a special cake with a candle as a surprise - it was so nice! MasMais has some things to work on!

Visited for the first time for dinner with my partner (Valentine's Day). The food was great, the service by all waitstaff was wonderful, and the atmosphere was also very nice. Half of the seating was around the "bar", which was actually very nice and I preferred this over sitting at a regular table (it was nice to observe the food and drinks preparation). Would definitely recommend visiting.

Such a great experience here last night! Some of the best tacos I’ve had in Amsterdam and the staff went above and beyond for us. A particular shout out to the chef - we ordered the veggie chefs menu and he’d over heard one of us ate meat. Although off menu he offered a meat taco to try too. The flavours were amazing and I was particularly impressed as the waitress told us it was one of their busiest nights. Our favourites: pumpkin taco & flan for dessert. We will definitely be back!!

Nonfussy leeeekker taco joint with great vibe. Drinks are on point. Menu is changing a few times a year so dont miss out. Small menu and everything hits perfectly. Sit on the right side of the bar so you can hang out with the chef ;)

Pretty good tacos, they offer both vegetarian and meat choices. Pumpkin is my favorite from the vegetarian menu and Tinga de pollo from the meat selection.

Lovely atmosphere, somewhat feels very pricey like everywhere else in Amsterdam. But cozy and local, with a cool vibe. We booked two weeks before and they put us at the counter, squeezed with everyone else. So book well in advance and maybe specify not to sit you at the counter if you don't like it

An excellent place to eat with a good range of taco options to pick from. This is a very high 4 star rating. We had the three vegetarian options: pumpkin, beans and mushroom. They were all very good. The pumpkin and mushroom had good savoury flavours and were tasty but the flavour profile was a bit muted. The stand out was the refried beans taco (which I would rate 5 stars). It was so fresh and just the perfect combination of South American fresh flavours. Definitely the taco to finish on as a refreshing palate cleanser. The tacos seem to come in two sizes, with the smaller sized dishes coming in tacos about the size of your open palm. Note: for people who don’t like coriander, tell the staff members this when you order because some garnishes and ingredients in the tacos are heavy on the coriander. As a plus, we were pleasantly surprised when we were told that Thursday was 5 euro margarita nights. The staff were exceptional. They were super friendly and so eager to give us some advice on things to do during our visit to Amsterdam. Maximum stars for service. Overall a great experience and a place I would recommend.

The staff at MasMais were so enjoyable to talk to. It’s super casual. We got three kinds of tacos and the refried beans one was definitely the best. I would almost say that taco was life changing. Also, they do €5 classic margs every Thursday! I loved this place.

Nice place with authentic Mexican tacos. The €35 chef's menu is great value for money: two types of nachos as a starter, 4 richly topped tacos and a dessert. All delicious! In addition, tasty cocktails and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Honestly I was expecting much more of a good reviewed restaurant like this one. We ordered the tuna tostadas, the carnitas and the beef barbacoa tacos + 2 house beers (pils + blonde). The blond beer was nice, don’t bother with the Pilsner (tastes like water). The food was good flavor-wise but I would have expected to get at least some salsa on the side, all the tacos were dry. The tuna tostadas were considerably smaller than all the other tacos. No cutlery, no napkins, no glasses (we received water but cups), and plastic plates. Don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Food is average but service is lazy/deficient. The order never came, we had to ask for it again we waited approx. 30 min.. and when the food came they forgotten one of the only 2 items we ordered. The last one never came … it seemed very unorganized. Overall is quite expensive for the bad service and average food.

What a mockery. Many dishes were crossed out on the menu. All 5 of us ordered a different taco. These were served at different times. There was no less than a 2 hour time difference between the 1st and 5th taco! My lukewarm chicken taco was tasteless and the cilantro flavor was dominant. Then waited another hour for the 2nd taco. The portions are small and comparatively overpriced. In the meantime, 2 tables were pooped by seagulls who apparently like to sit above the terrace. However, the sun canopies were not deployed. That would have been useful anyway because of the bright sun. We came home disillusioned and hungry.

Met 4 vriendinnen hier naar toe enthousiast geworden door de dingen die op Insta voorbij kwamen. Per 2 tostada’s betaal je ong €15 en je hebt er zeker 4pp nodig. Bij het bestellen werd gezegd dat alles beetje na elkaar op tafel komt, omdat het de bedoeling is dat je shared. Op zich niet erg, maar er moet wel enig tempo in zitten. De eerste portie tuna tostada kwam al vrij snel, daarna duurde het een halfuur voor het volgende portie kwam, barbacoa dit keer, weer een half uur later het derde portie en uiteindelijk na anderhalf uur de laatste 2 bestellingen. Heel jammer dit, de tostada’s waren erg lekker maar deze traagheid verpeste alles. Is ook lastig om 2 tostada’s met 5 te sharen😉meer eten bestellen kon ook niet want de keuken ging dicht. Met rammelende magen huiswaarts dus. Ook werden wij (en ons eten) evenals een tafel naast ons bespat door poepende meeuwen boven ons. De bediening verontschuldigde zich en zei dat ze meestal de zonwering uitdeed om dit te voorkomen. Waarom ze dat nu niet deden?🤷🏼‍♀️ Samenvatting:eten lekker, niet goedkoop maar duurt veel te lang voor het op je tafel staat

Food was ok- on the simple side, some tacos were a bit dry. Missing all the typical add-ons like salsa, chili peppers etc They also served a pumpkin taco which was absolutely terrible, a plain roasted pumpkin is a great side dish but has nothing to do in a taco, especially without any salsa or literally anything else. It was not really authentic. The staff is nice but wouldn’t go back for the food. The menu is really simple so you would expect an authentic taste, but that was not the case. Chilaquiles were nice.

Amazing place! We walked in without a reservation and the staff accommodated us quickly. The vibe was great and the food delicious— the kind Italian girl was supper attentive with us and knew just what to recommend. Sweetest people and unreal food. New favourite!

The best tacos I've ever tasted! It’s a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for sunny days but also very cozy inside for colder days. The menu is incredible, special mention for Pumpkin and Barbacoa tacos and of course the Margheritas! I strongly recommend!

Been a few times now and sat both inside and outside in the sun. Super friendly staff, great music and the food was really delicious. Portions are a good size for me and surprising combinations.

Poor service, 1.5 hours for 2 margaritas, 1 starter, nothing else came out, asked for the bill and overcharged. This was the second time I tried this place. I was hopeful I could find at least one place that passed as decent Mexican food. This is not it.

Mexican food forever has been sold as some quick snack full of saturated fats, covered in liters of sauce. Finding a place that doesn't treat this type of food with so much disrespect is really hard. This place is different. It is probably the best meal i've had this year. The chefs menu is so, so good. This place is amazing if you want good flavours. I usually feel so bloated and tired after eating taco's but after my meal here, I didn't at all. It was such a pleasant surprise. I'm def returning. The service was so good too and you can really see that the owners of the place really care about their food and workers. What an awesome experience :)

Service was really good and friendly and the atmosphere was very inviting. I will definitely visit this place again! Oh, I don’t want to forget to mention the yummy drinks they have to go with the tacos 😋 I will definitely go there again, that’s for sure!

Nice informal good tacos!! Good music and tasty cocktails. Already an established name for us. We have been several times since it opened and have never been disappointed. The only downside is that they have now also started a fish restaurant so we have to choose between the two 🤤🤤

Not only the place is super cozy, but the food is mindblowing! The menu is not too big but wonderfully curated (never had tacos like this, my favourites were the ones with pumpkin and pork), and you can really tell that the drinks are high quality. It was a 10/10 experience, surely recommend!

Great place for drinks and a bite to eat with friends. The terrace has lots of sun in the summer. Loved the pumpkin taco with a mountain of cheese on top. Highly recommend if you crave Mexican food!

Best tacos I’ve ever had. What an amazing gem of a place.

Nice taco place in West Amsterdam, worth the visit if you’re staying nearby. We went on a Monday evening and they had delicious Margaritas for a 5€. The tacos themselves are tasty -generously filled, will a good seasoning- but with just 2 tiny corn tortillas a 12€ the portion, we found it a bit expensive. We kept ordering more courses and ended up paying more than initially expected for a taco night. If you are in the area considering whether to go to the Taqueria or their Marisqueria place, choose the Taqueria for sure: the seafood sister place has the same theme of small portions, very similar menu but a rather slower service.

The food looked good but the service left a lot to be desired. Of the 3 dishes we ordered, we only managed to try one since the waiter apparently forgot our order. After having brought us the quesadilla (the only dish we tried) more than 20 minutes passed and the tacos did not arrive, we called his attention to remind him that we still needed an order and yet another 20 minutes passed and they never brought us the requested so we stopped and settled the bill. Painful experience because we had gone with high expectations to try them. I hope they improve in that aspect.

The tacos are really delicious. But that says it all for me. I miss side dishes (there are none), and the portions are very small. This makes it quite expensive, which you would not expect in such a business. The terrace outside is without atmosphere and the tables are far too close together, which causes practical inconveniences. Also inside, little attention has been paid to the interior, which makes it not very pleasant to sit.
