What you expect from a McDonald's

I was here recently, but unfortunately, I had the feeling there was a mouse tail in my mac and cheese, chicken, honey, and mustard. I checked, and it turned out to be a mouse, so I highly recommend against it.

Good food. Just off the highway. Didn't quite get what I asked for, but still always tasty.

It's getting easier and easier with the ordering kiosks, and now also with those numbered signs that bring the food to your table. Now all we need is thuisbezorgd.nl...!

They often forget to put something in a takeout order. If it's a Happy Meal, they always put the same toys in the same order. I've told them this several times...no use. Now I immediately open it and tell them to exchange it for different ones.

The waste bin wasn't working, causing chaos; papers were piled on top. It wasn't that busy, so that should have been cleaned up immediately, along with a sign saying it was defective!!!

I went through the McDrive today, Friday evening, around 10:00 PM, and it all went quite smoothly. Half of the food is disappointing; half of the cheese is crooked on the filet o fish, as is so often the case. But my biggest annoyance is that I'm missing my large fries. I do have the fry sauce, but when I get home, I realize I didn't get any fries at all that cost me more than €4. How do I get a refund for this? Do I have to sift through everything in that bag every time as if I actually received everything? Disappointing.

I ordered 6 cheeseburgers and I had two, and on one the cheese was next to the bun and my pickle was hollowed out, and the other one didn't even have a burger on it. And there was a rat running around.

There is often a group standing there playing very loud music through their car subwoofers, which you can hear throughout the entire McDonald's. Nothing is done about this group. Also, the food isn't always ready quickly; I have had to wait 30+ minutes multiple times for lukewarm or cold food.

Ate here yesterday. My friend and I had practically the same order. While my friend had already been eating for 15 minutes, I still hadn't received my order. I went to ask about it anyway, and was told it was still being prepared. After a few minutes, I went back, and finally, after 25 minutes, I was able to pick up my order (which was probably just forgotten or due to poor communication?). I also didn't receive a single apology or sorry from the staff/manager I spoke to. This needs to be much better.

Always cold fries and very little sauce on the burgers.

Had a scandalous experience. They gave me a chicken burger even though I ordered the vegetarian option (I am severely allergic!!! And yes, I am absolutely sure of it!!). Mistakes can happen, of course, but afterwards I got into an argument with the manager who claimed it wasn't chicken. She walked away afterward, and the kitchen most likely told her it was indeed chicken because she suddenly came back a little less mean. Received no apologies whatsoever, and had to fight to avoid being poisoned. The staff is completely unhelpful and grumpy. There was one blonde guy who was cheerful, but that was the only positive thing... also given too little sauce. I am never coming back here. Definitely don't go either if you don't want to be poisoned.

Completely overcrowded. Staff overwhelmed. Table service only occasionally available. Waited 45 minutes in front of the counter. Then our number briefly appeared as "ready" and disappeared again after a few seconds. Only after asking did we get anything. Of course, something was missing or the wrong thing was packed. Dirty floor. Dirty tables. Dirty toilets. Stressed customers. This McDonald's will never see us again. Fast food should be different.

I am personally not a fan of McDonald's, but when I do go there, I notice a clear difference between the branches. In my opinion, the food at the McDonald's in Duiven tastes better than at the one in Doetinchem. At the Doetinchem branch, I often get the feeling that the orders are prepared somewhat hastily, resulting in lower quality. Additionally, I find it unfortunate that there are regularly a lot of loitering teenagers in the parking lot. That creates an unpleasant atmosphere. For me, this is not a branch I enjoy visiting. Therefore, I give the McDonald's in Doetinchem a 1/10.

The quality of the burgers has improved over the past few years. The cheese empanadas were very disappointing. The children loved the McFizz Sakura.

Waiting 45 minutes in a small queue at the drive-thru is really ridiculous.

This is a very good place to enjoy a nice meal, and the great thing is that there is a nice, clean parking lot here, where there is also a drive-in to pick up your food quickly and easily. Furthermore, I found the service to be very good and the staff very friendly. I think the price is getting a bit on the high side for what you get. But then again, it was a delicious feast. I would definitely come back here again. Update 2026: The food is fine, but I was addressed in English in the Netherlands, a bit strange, hence 2 stars less.

A regular McDonald's, very busy, but what do you expect? Saturday, 5 p.m.

Cold, soggy fries, waited almost half an hour, and the burgers were tough and inedible.

Are you coming into the drive-thru, want a drink? Sauce? Man, oh man, they shouldn't get any more customer-friendly... I always had to ask, "What would you like to drink, sir or madam?" Sounds much better already 😅😅

Burgers were good, warm/nice staff. The only thing was that there was a lot of noise in and around the location.

I was satisfied with my visit to this McDonald's restaurant. After ordering at the kiosk, the food arrived very quickly and was freshly prepared, even though the restaurant was very busy. The food was hot and delicious, and the quality was significantly better than at McDonald's in Germany. The restaurant and restrooms were clean, as was the parking lot. The staff was friendly and attentive. It's conveniently located right off the highway.

I stopped by the drive-thru yesterday and got two ice creams. Sandra helped me. What a sweet and friendly person she is! She is truly an example of how a small act of kindness can brighten someone's day. Sandra, I hope that all the good you do comes back to you. Thanks for the great service!

Their mcflurries are 35% filled. Literally less than half. Very greedy behaviour for €4,35. Never again with these shitty practices.

You order coffee and there are 10 staff members standing there and nobody is making coffee! So there you are, standing there waiting and waiting. But yeah, we have to move on.....so you paid, but no coffee! Great, we won't be doing that again.

That website says open until 02:00, but you close it at 01:30.

Got a milkshake via the McDonald's drive-thru. Unfortunately, poor management. Stood in line for 20 minutes just to order. If you can't provide service, then close the place down, and if you're late in line, there's nowhere to get out.

A neater version of the fast food chain. Tables are mostly clean. Helpful staff. And I have actually always received my order warmly. That has been different at other places in the past.

I ate a Big Mac today. What a disgusting experience. Contrary to what the advertisement suggests, I received a cardboard box containing something that was supposed to look like a Big Mac. A limp bun with a dollop of lettuce, a few pathetic "hamburgers," and a so-called sauce. Cheese that wasn't melted because the whole thing was too cold. A pungent smell of grease could already be smelled outside the restaurant. I am never coming here again.

Very bad! A few friendly people, but I hate anyone who works after midnight!

The milkshakes here are a real disaster! I drink them all over the country. But at the Mc in Doetinchem, it always looks just like cold strawberry yogurt. Always a difficult, thin sludge. Adjust this machine a bit less stingy. So that you actually get some texture. This has been going on for years now and I've mentioned it multiple times already.

I found lettuce in my Happy Meal, but I had ordered chicken nuggets, so I don't know why there was lettuce in it. It was a mess.

Just quickly ate a tasty McFlurry M&Ms with caramel.

This time it was very unhygienic, in other words a mess; nothing cleaned, lots of food scraps on the floor, tables, and floor, very dirty. The only thing that was still clean was the children's corner. The food was a bit on the cold side. After this, we ordered dessert and told a staff member that we found it very gross, who said they are busy, that is no excuse; someone is supposed to keep the restaurant area clean.

The quality and taste are always excellent.

I ordered a nice Big Arch, I'm almost on my last bite when suddenly I have something tough in my mouth. I go to see what it is. I just find a piece of cardboard or paper in my mouth. I am never coming back here again.

Our grandchildren entertained themselves for hours on the slide. After the meal, Grandpa and Grandma waited patiently until the children wanted to go home themselves. That was three hours later, haha. In the meantime, the staff provided us with delicious lattes and coffee. Where else do you find that, so sweet! At McDonald's in Doetinchem 😊

Food is fine, burger menu vague so that instead of an extra cheeseburger you get this as the main burger, a shame.

Well, if you don't know the Mac yet... keep it that way. Otherwise, just get a Mac with a drive-in like everywhere else, and I believe that is exactly the intention.

It's the same every time; no matter what I order, it's never right. They say they'll send a voucher. But I always have to chase that up too, so for everyone, please check your order to make sure it's correct.

My experience at McDonald’s Doetinchem was genuinely top-notch. What stands out immediately is how well everything is organized: the restaurant is clean, well-organized, and you are served quickly, even during busy times. The staff really makes the difference here. Friendly, sharp, and clearly well-coordinated. My order was ready quickly and everything was spot on — warm, fresh, and exactly as you would expect. What I appreciate most is the consistency. You know what you’re getting, but here they go the extra mile in terms of service and speed. You don’t see that everywhere. In short: this is how a McDonald’s should operate. Definitely recommended if you are in Doetinchem and just want to be served well and quickly without any hassle.

Flurry is becoming increasingly rare these days (nationwide). A Quarterpounder always goes down well, even though it costs 6 euros.

Cold fries... Ordering a cheeseburger, getting 6 nuggets, long wait and dirty seats... It used to be decent here.. But right now....

A good McDonald's. They are quick with your food, especially the drive-thru is well organized. It is as you expect. A fine experience if you want to grab a quick bite.

Great McDonald's! It's just that not everyone speaks Dutch. It's sometimes difficult when something goes wrong with the order...

I don't get any fucking cheese or sauce on my quarterpounder, I only get the quarter pound. Just hire better staff who can at least build a Lego set.

First they let me order at the McDonald's drive-thru, then I stood there waiting for a while, got to the window to pay, and they told me I wasn't allowed to order because I was on a bike. I asked if it really wasn't allowed, since I'd been there on my bike before, but I don't think the woman understood much herself, and in the end, I just didn't get any food. Five minutes later, cycling home, I called McDonald's and asked if I could go through the drive-thru on my bike. I was told that it was perfectly fine. What a rotten company; just sell your food, you want to make money, right?

A huge mess, the parking lot is unsafe at night, lots of young people loitering, and the staff is useless. But what can you expect when you put toddlers in charge of a restaurant?

It takes a long time to get your food. You're always just directed to the parking lot, even if you order two McFlurries. The food is fine, but poorly prepared. Furthermore, some employees don't even speak Dutch or English. Ridiculous. It's also getting really expensive. February 17, 2025: Unfortunately, I'm hearing and experiencing increasingly worse service. Management, but mainly staff, don't seem to enjoy their work, and it really shows, except for a few! Unfortunately, Dekkers prioritizes quick and easy service over good service. As mentioned above, it's still one of the slower McDonald's in the area. You're always directed if you come through the drive-through. If you eat inside, it's still reasonable, but the restaurant itself isn't clean or tidy. It's a real shame, as I used to love McDonald's Doetinchem. 25/10/2025: Apparently, a number of new managers have been appointed to Doetinchem. Since this change, the drive-thru service and the ordering process have become much faster. Therefore, the service rating has been changed from 1 to 3 stars. 23/02/2026: The service is improving steadily; they don't make a fuss about simple questions. The cleaning of the restaurant is often quite overdue, partly due to the busy hours between 4 and 5 p.m. The food is good and perfectly adequate for a quick visit to McDonald's. The service is still grim in the evenings, even in the restaurant. They would do well to stop allowing people to eat in the restaurant after 10 p.m., for example, but to open it for young people (men and women) to order in a quiet and safe environment.

Clean restrooms with fresh air. Fresh fries. Service is polite and respectful. Plenty of parking. Close to the highway.

Everyone was sitting with their coats on because it was so cold inside, so the food wasn't really warm and the staff was clumsy and rude.

It's McDonald's, so you know what you're getting. The staff just really needs training in taking orders at the Drive-Thru. There are two kiosks, and the left kiosk consistently waits much longer than the right because there's no logical order (order taking, order paying, etc.). It gets very congested in the Drive-Thru very quickly. Also, the parking lot usually isn't very welcoming in the evenings, but of course, there's not much the owner can do about that. Oh, and please remove those three curbs that are supposed to be speed bumps! I understand you want to slow down, but this is ruining my suspension even when I drive over it at almost a standstill!

The cola cup wasn't clean, but thanks to the friendly staff, we received a new one. It was also very cold inside, and not every table and chair was clean. Otherwise, the food was excellent.

People under the influence are walking around here begging, and there's absolutely no security. McDonald's should do something about that.

I ordered a burger and asked for no onions, but when I took a bite, they were there. I'm allergic to them. When I went up and asked for a change, I waited in line for a long time for a replacement....just terrible service!!!! There was no apology. While I was waiting, half of the employees just stood there and joked among themselves.

Had to wait 15 minutes for two cheeseburgers. And they were still cold. The staff walk so slowly they're practically walking backwards. What terrible service. The drive-thru staff are very disinterested and rude. Keep it up, McD.

The big tasty was cold and just thrown on the bun. The French fries were also cold. Bad experience with this McDonald's. I've had better McDonald's.

After visiting Amphion, I ate here. It's a spacious and well-organized McDonald's with plenty of seating. The Big Mac was exactly how I like it. The burgers were cooked perfectly, and the added lettuce, pickles, and cheese enhanced the flavor. The staff are friendly, and the burger I ordered was delivered quickly. The best McDonald's I know!

Employees just messing around with each other. Waited 45 minutes for 9 chicken nuggets. Wrong order... ordered a cheeseburger WITHOUT cheese and then delivered WITH cheese. No attention to the customers.

I was there this afternoon. First, they took the order incorrectly, okay, that can happen due to language barriers. Then they served lukewarm fries. I complained about this, and they brought me new, again lukewarm, fries with the rest of my order. It's really disappointing, even though they included a free 9-pack of chicken as an apology for the initial complaint. The cleanliness of the restaurant floor also left much to be desired.

The mack has become really expensive

Very disappointing experience for Modelo at this McDonald’s. He paid €0.85 for mayonnaise, and they simply forgot it. €0.85 × 1 = €0.85 wasted. Then, his 9-piece Chicken McNuggets came with only 8. That is 1/9 missing, or approximately 11% of the order not delivered. If you charge for 9 pieces and deliver only 8, you are providing 88.9% of the expected product. This is not about small amounts of money it is about accuracy, reliability, and respect for the customer. In Germany, we expect things to be correct and in order. This McDonald’s failed completely. I request a refund of €0.85 for the missing mayonnaise and the proportional cost of the missing nugget. Careless, sloppy, and frankly, shameful.

It was quite busy, but the order didn't take long, and this was our first McDonald's ever where the fries were still hot! Delicious.

It was relatively quiet, midday on a weekday. Friendly service, and the missing fries were quickly brought to the table. Clean, open, and well-maintained restrooms. A great McDonald's.

Everything was perfect the stuff was nice until I park to consume my order my car got surrounded by rats first it was only one and then suddenly 3 to 4 showed up I got disgusted by all of this I try to scare them but they keep coming so I do not suggest coming to this McDonald’s or mcdrive until they keep the rats out.
