MED Trattoria in Medemblik

A few years ago, after a very negative experience and a negative review, we never visited here again until today. Today we went for lunch outside on the terrace. Despite the strong north wind, we were comfortably sheltered from the wind. The lunch omelette (ham, cheese, and bacon) and the panini were delicious. Just like the Tiramisu Classico. The value for money is excellent. The service was welcoming and top-notch. Waiting times between ordering and serving were fine. Even though it was quiet, it remains a top location. I was able to delete my previous negative review.

Had a delicious meal at this fantastic location on the IJsselmeer. Beautiful to see all the boats coming in while enjoying a nice drink.

Plus + Nice ,cosy atmosphere inside the restaurant and outside ,view on boats and jacht . Tasty lunch, dessert -white wine -I do recommend. Waitress came every 10 min ( in 1 h time asked maybe 5-6 times if we want order more,more and more even when we went still with half full glass and busy with food.)

The pizza wasn't good. The wrong cheese and arugula on a Margherita pizza. The snacks and fries are okay though. The cocktails are a bit disappointing.

The food was very tasty; my girlfriend cannot eat gluten due to her celiac disease and was able to eat a pasta that was perfectly fine. My pizza was also good. So, for people who also eat gluten-free, this is a great place.

We had a 6-course dinner and it was fantastic 😋😋

We both ordered lasagna. It wasn't good. Lots of cheese and pasta sheets, and very little meat sauce (which also had very little flavor), and all this for a hefty price. Very disappointing. The service, by the way... could be a bit more customer-friendly!

Very nice place with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere & service

I have no idea why they are called Trattoria. The food is simply terrible. The lasagna is tasteless and meatless. The pizza dough looks good, but it is undercooked and the tomato sauce ruins the taste. The terrace hasn't been cleaned in a very long time, with green growth on the benches and bird droppings on the windows. I haven't experienced such poor value for money in a very long time.

Tasty food, generous portions, and friendly service!

We wanted to order food. The waitresses, three young women busy chatting on their phones, came quickly and brought us the drinks, but not the menu. Only after a long wait, and then only after asking for it, did we finally get it. More waiting, and again only after asking, were we able to order. We ordered an appetizer and a main course, but we hadn't even finished our appetizers when the main course arrived. The pizzas had absolutely no flavor. We complained about this. We've rarely eaten so badly. Not worth reserving a table for.

Unfortunately, our visit was quite a letdown. Given that the restaurant presents itself as Italian, we really expected more. That is precisely when you should be able to count on dishes prepared with care that approximate authentic Italian cuisine. The pizza was without a doubt the worst we have ever eaten. The crust was still partly raw and the sauce reminded us of instant pizza sauce, which was completely unsuitable for a pizza. As a result, it completely lacked the flavor and quality you would expect from an Italian pizza. Even an average frozen pizza is of better quality. The pasta carbonara was also disappointing. The pasta was undercooked and the dish was very dry, preventing the flavor from coming through properly. A carbonara is supposed to be creamy and full of flavor, but unfortunately, that was not the case here. The service was friendly and did its best; we have no complaints about that. But when you go out to eat, you want to enjoy a good meal. Unfortunately, things went completely wrong there, and we left full plates behind. For a restaurant that presents itself as Italian, we find this truly unacceptable. Hopefully something will be done about this, because at this moment we unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

Simple but good, opposite a small port

We went for lunch and were seated at 1:45 PM. We received our food at 3:30 PM. I had a salad with burrata pesto and ham. It was tasteless and had no dressing. The service was very sweet and helpful, but waiting so long for a sandwich and salad with our small group is not recommended, sorry.

There was no place outside in the shade, only in the full sun, so I went inside, but there was no service inside. Very disappointing, but I left.

We ate here last night, having made a reservation in advance. It took quite a while before we could order drinks and receive the menu. The waitress had already indicated that she didn't have enough menus due to the busyness. We ordered a surprise platter with appetizers. It took quite a while for it to arrive, but it was really delicious. Nothing to complain about. After that, we had to wait for our pizzas; this dragged on and on. Other tables were also becoming visibly impatient. Then we heard that no new guests were allowed to come in for dinner because the kitchen couldn't handle it. Eventually our pizzas arrived, but they turned out to be simply undercooked. Such a shame; by then our appetite had vanished, and we asked for the bill. Chaos in the kitchen, but that is never a reason to serve undercooked products, in our opinion. The waitress asked if we wanted dessert, but we declined. And she understood, she said. She was able to offer us 2 more drinks, which we had deducted from the total bill. Such a shame, this experience. Especially since there were almost exclusively positive reviews on the site.

Thank you for the good service and the chef's dedication, especially since I couldn't use olive oil for cooking due to my Crohn's disease. The meat was nice and tender, though I would have preferred the vegetables to remain a little crunchier. The service was super friendly, and they kept asking questions to ensure the food was prepared properly. We will definitely be back.

What was supposed to be a cozy and pleasant evening with good food for us and friends from Tilburg ultimately turned into a true disaster. Of course, I have no idea what was going on in the kitchen, but we were in the restaurant at 6:00 PM and didn't receive our main course until 8:15 PM. The spaghetti was "overcooked" and absolutely did not resemble Italian food. The service and attention from the wait staff were below par. The goings-on around and near the cash register were apparently more important than the guests present in the restaurant. One thing has become clear to us: if we go out to eat, we will not be returning to the MED.

We arrived at 5:15 PM; only 5 tables were occupied in total. We had ordered bread with dip and a mix of starters. This didn't arrive until 6:20 PM. We asked twice why it was taking so long, and the answer was that there was nothing wrong. Then the main course arrived after 30 minutes, which is OK, but we had already been in the restaurant for 1 hour and 30 minutes. None of the pizzas were cooked through, and the pasta was OK, though slightly overcooked. The meat was fine. Because everything took so long, we mentioned the pizzas at the end. No apology, or complimentary cup of coffee. I certainly would not go here again.

We had a six-course surprise menu. The dessert course was way too much, and the cheese course afterward was unnecessary. Other than that, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. It was very quiet for a Saturday evening, but it made for a nice chat.

The food was excellent and very tasty. The meat was super tender. The potatoes were heavenly. Truly delicious. The spaghetti with shrimp and mussels was truly fantastic. They were very accommodating to my intolerance. We really enjoyed it.

The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant, but we were disappointed with the food. The soup wasn't very tasty, and the lasagna was mostly overloaded with cheese (no pasta was found in the lasagna). A friend's dish was also disappointing. It's a shame, because the space is charming and the service is excellent.

The restaurant is lovely! The ambiance with the different lights creates a cozy atmosphere. The food was excellent! The pasta was piping hot yet perfectly al dente! The service was very friendly! We'll be back!

The service was friendly and very young. So, you can't fault that; it's just nice that people want to work in hospitality. That doesn't change the fact that the food was simply terrible. We all ordered pizza. When I apologized for the bad pizza, they immediately said that we were having a good time and that was the reason. The next day, we asked the other guest who hadn't ordered pizza if it was good. We were also told, "Never mind, we were having a good time together." In short, it didn't match the ambiance and the quality of the food.

Excellent service! They cater to our needs! :) Dogs are welcome and they even brought water for him right away. For my birthday, they even had a little surprise for me! I'd gladly come back again.

The ambiance is lovely. We had a table in the conservatory overlooking the harbor. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive. Our dogs were also warmly welcomed and immediately brought a bowl of water to the table. The food was consistently fresh and delicious. Excellent value for money. We would definitely go back. Highly recommended for a great meal with a special view.

The restaurant has a great location. That's about it. The tables hadn't been wiped. The food was terrible. My husband had the worst pizza he's ever had, and I had a fish dish with asparagus. It consisted of three tiny stalks and a minuscule piece of fish. It tasted awful. Never again!

The location is great, but we had to wait a very long time for the food and in the end it didn't taste good. We certainly won't be coming back.

Super nice spot for a delicious lunch, beautiful view, and tasty food! Last Saturday, we celebrated Grandma's birthday with a delicious high tea consisting of all kinds of Italian delicacies. No less than 4 courses that arrived perfectly timed one after the other and were presented with a smile from the server each time. Parking was also great, and there were no steps for Grandma, which was very nice.

On Sunday, July 13th, we celebrated our 20th anniversary at MED. The entire afternoon and evening were perfectly taken care of. We were welcomed with coffee and delicious pastries. Following this, we enjoyed drinks and drinks, which then led to an excellent hot and cold buffet. Every additional request was immediately converted into a promotion. Compliments to the kitchen and the service at MED.

It's been a while since I was last here. The location is great. The food is good. The service is friendly.

Spaghetti carbonara was erg kleine portie, moesten erna de pizza delen om een beetje fatsoenlijke hoeveelheid te krijgen. En de Carbonare met ei was spekjes met roerei vanwege de foutieve bereiding. Bediening was erg junior, druk met elkaar en reageerde niet op ons aangeven dat de maaltijd niet smakelijk en te gering was.

I like to drink coffee here on the terrace overlooking the sea and sailboats. A light breeze blows in your face, peace and quiet. But I see that there are always a lot of people here, which means the food is good. And yes, in order to eat, it is advisable to book a table in advance... especially on weekends. The staff is young, the guys are handsome and polite. The surroundings are clean and atmospheric. I really like it here!!

Cosy evening. Good food. Worth repeating.

The food is good, we thought there should be more vegetables with the main courses. Also a somewhat bare presentation of the plates. Tiramisu as a dessert was delicious. Inside it is cozy and the conservatory is wonderfully light with a view of the terrace and the harbor. Service is also fine.

Very excited about the melanza, but it turned out not to be there. Risotto was very tasty, pizzas not special, were ok. Didn't taste like freshly made in any case. Staff friendly.

Had a lovely high tea. The only point I can think of is that the sandwiches were very big for a high tea, and therefore very filling. But super tasty!

Reasonable Italian. Friendly service and quiet atmosphere. Long waiting time. Pizza base a bit thick and too much cheese, tastes good. Stuffed pasta was not fully cooked. A small piece of tiramisu for 9.50 is disproportionate. Soup was watery. Lots of flies in. Salad was good, as well as the melon, pasta and drinks. Nice for once, but not again.

It's a great location. Nice family restaurant and also they don't charge for the food and drinks of your kids. Which is really sweet of them. The food is served in big portions, so keep up your appetite before you go there. I ordered a pizza but the knife given along with it was so blunt that I had to use all my energy in cutting. The service is extremely slow and hence the 3 star

Had dinner here on the terrace this afternoon. Nice service and delicious sandwiches. If I ever come to Medemblik again, I will go here again.

Ordered a Cesar salad with chicken. Received a container of mainly lettuce with a few pieces of chicken, no dressing and a few halves of candy tomatoes. Was more like a bunny's lunch. Definitely not recommended.

Lunch viel enorm tegen. Een cesar salade besteld. Bleek een bak met voornamelijk sla te zijn met 5 stukjes kip een paar halve snoep tomaatjes en wat schaafsel van kaas. Dressing zat er niet in. Wellicht een prima lunch voor een konijn.

High tea is highly recommended We forgot to report our allergies so unfortunately this could not be anticipated, but that is my fault :)

Great food. We sat on the terrace. After the music was on, it was completely great. Reserved with social deal. Price of the deal an eat you got was a lot, so perfect deal. Iced coffee was delicious btw in this sun.

We houden niet van tocht en konden na enige tijd gelukkig een andere tafel krijgen. In tegenstelling tot eerdere goede ervaringen was de lunch dit keer een drama. Dieptepunt waren de broodjes Caprese met tomaat/mozzarella die zo droog en smaakloos waren dat wij smeekten om olijfolie, balsamico en een beetje pesto zodat er in ieder geval iets van dressing op de eenvoudig belegde broodjes zou zijn. Nee, er bleek helaas geen pesto in de keuken voorhanden. Onze vraag naar de dessertkaart werd door de vriendelijke jongedame beantwoord met “ik weet niet of dat wel mag” en later, toen wij teleurgesteld bleven kijken, “maar misschien wilt U een bolletje ijs?”. We schaamden ons voor onze gasten die wij een heerlijke lunch hadden beloofd. Nadat een van hen de lauw geserveerde koffie snel had opgedronken zijn wij vertrokken.

The service was good, the food not. Only the vitello tonnato as a starter was very tasty. The pasta of the day, ravioli with mortadella, was a real low point. It was cold, dry and tasteless. The rest (burrata and spaghetti carbonara) was mediocre, sloppily put together and not at the right temperature. We finished with tea and lukewarm coffee. We have pointed out the problems with the operation. They indicated that they were sorry and that they would let the kitchen know. We were left with a hangover from this. A bad experience, especially considering the prices.

Cozy restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was tasty and well prepared. However, the sauce with the fish was very salty for our taste. But that is a different experience for everyone. Other than that it was great.

Delicious high tea, variety and plenty!

Ik had hoge verwachtingen van de high tea bij Med Trattoria Medemblik, vooral omdat we met een groep van 8 meiden waren en gebruikmaakten van een Social Deal-aanbieding. Helaas viel het resultaat behoorlijk tegen. Ten eerste was het aantal potten thee voor zo'n grote groep karig – we kregen slechts twee potten voor 8 personen, wat absoluut niet genoeg was. We moesten regelmatig bijbestellen, wat nogal ongemakkelijk was. Het eten begon met drie mini-canapés, waarna we echter meer dan een uur moesten wachten op het volgende gerecht. Dit was een lange wachttijd, vooral voor een high tea. Wat we daarna kregen, was teleurstellend: een klein soepje en 1,5 boterham met beleg. Daarna kregen we een mini-quiche die in één hap op was, gevolgd door een bolletje ijs als zoetigheid? Dit is echt niet wat je verwacht bij een high tea. De tiramisu was heel weinig en de cannaloni had weinig smaak. Het voldeed totaal niet aan de verwachtingen. Het personeel was wel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Hoewel de gerechtjes zelf wel smakelijk waren, was de hoeveelheid veel te weinig voor een high tea. We hadden na afloop nog steeds honger. De lange wachttijden en de minimale porties zorgen ervoor dat ik de ervaring niet als positief kan beschouwen.

Never again! Waiting 2 hours for a mediocre sandwich. Next time we'll go to the gas station and get a sandwich. The quality of the food and service there is much better than in this worthless establishment! 1 star rating is still very enthusiastic!

This was my first visit to their local and my buddy has been there several times. I was really pleased how quickly we were served and got our seats. The food was very tasty & the prices were okay. There was a bit of a strange smell in the anteroom, which is why there was only 4/5 stars for ambience. Gladly again!:)

Had a delicious high tea in this beautiful restaurant. Very good service and nice atmosphere. The staff was very nice, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. The food itself was also very good.

Staff is very friendly, but I am very disappointed in the fact that they had not arranged vegan cheese as promised, so I ate a pizza with grilled vegetables and that's it... Bread board is very little for the price, we will not come back because it is not vegan friendly. Luckily there was salt and pepper on the table so I could still make the pizza okay, but I didn't enjoy my food..

Beautiful restaurant with a view of the water. The food was disappointing. The pizzas were not warm. In terms of taste it was fine, but not like you eat a pizza in Italy. The bottom was on the thick side. Furthermore, three people had the Tartufata pizza, which did not contain forest mushrooms as indicated on the menu, but mushrooms as on the Funghi pizza. The staff eventually resolved the matter nicely by offering us a coffee on the house.

It looked a bit gloomy when we came in, but we were very early (5:00 PM). Excellent food, relaxed environment. Unfortunately few guests. Service was very friendly. Recommended!

Not professional enough. (I wanted to but lacked quality) Food not good enough either Beer and wine were not all in stock.

The starter is on the menu as antipasti for two people for the price of € 16.50 But that is not the price, you have to pay €33.00. This is certainly not nice.

The staff is extremely friendly and personal. You will be treated in a friendly manner and will provide explanations if you have a question. Very customer-friendly, but what really struck me was that the cups on the coffee machine were upright on the warming plate and covered with a tea towel. You are one of the few who know how it should be done. In addition, one of your employees is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to coffee. She apologized that the espresso had a little too much water, unbelievable. The espresso was excellent by the way. Chapeau!!!!! We will definitely come back and it won't stop just once.

Pizzas were anything but tasty. Serivces took a bit long. Atmosphere fine.

We had pizza, although it was priced higher, but it tasted good and the beautiful view made up for it. Dogs are allowed. Only the service girls could have been a little more attentive. We had to get up ourselves to order more drinks because no one came to ask if we had anything else.

Recently had a High Wine at MED Trattoria. Delicious dishes with tasty matching wines! It was a fun afternoon activity to spend with my friends! Also very nice staff, highly recommended!

Ambience very nice. We waited a long time for service just to pay. But unfortunately the price/performance ratio for the food isn't right at all. Pizza with vegetables for 17€. Seafood spaghetti had 3 small shrimp and nothing else. Lots of cocktail tomatoes for €22. Lasagna was good but also 22€.

Delicious food, beautiful view of the harbour. And with regard to the food, we can highly recommend this restaurant. A really delicious meal, with a nice taste and at the end the tasting, which was delicious. We will definitely come back here again. 👍

Lovely view, great food, slow service

Never experienced anything like this before. There was a young woman who served well. But the other lady grumbled because it got so busy. But in the meantime, people walked away because it took too long. The bread was so hard you couldn't cut it with any knife. There was so little salmon that you were lucky if you could fill the bread. I'll never go there again.
