Very nice place to have lunch or just a cup of coffee with very friendly staff

A fantastic spot for a delicious lunch, with a beautiful view and delicious food! Last Saturday, we celebrated Grandma's birthday with a wonderful high tea featuring a wide variety of Italian delicacies. Four courses, each perfectly timed and served with a smile from the server. The parking was also great, and there were no steps for Grandma to climb on or off, which was very convenient.

On Sunday, July 13th, we celebrated our 20th anniversary at MED. The entire afternoon and evening were perfectly taken care of. We were welcomed with coffee and delicious pastries. Following this, we enjoyed drinks and drinks, which then led to an excellent hot and cold buffet. Every additional request was immediately converted into a promotion. Compliments to the kitchen and the service at MED.

It's been a while since I was last here. The location is great. The food is good. The service is friendly.

Spaghetti carbonara was erg kleine portie, moesten erna de pizza delen om een beetje fatsoenlijke hoeveelheid te krijgen. En de Carbonare met ei was spekjes met roerei vanwege de foutieve bereiding. Bediening was erg junior, druk met elkaar en reageerde niet op ons aangeven dat de maaltijd niet smakelijk en te gering was.

I like to drink coffee here on the terrace overlooking the sea and sailboats. A light breeze blows in your face, peace and quiet. But I see that there are always a lot of people here, which means the food is good. And yes, in order to eat, it is advisable to book a table in advance... especially on weekends. The staff is young, the guys are handsome and polite. The surroundings are clean and atmospheric. I really like it here!!

Cosy evening. Good food. Worth repeating.

The food is good, we thought there should be more vegetables with the main courses. Also a somewhat bare presentation of the plates. Tiramisu as a dessert was delicious. Inside it is cozy and the conservatory is wonderfully light with a view of the terrace and the harbor. Service is also fine.

Very excited about the melanza, but it turned out not to be there. Risotto was very tasty, pizzas not special, were ok. Didn't taste like freshly made in any case. Staff friendly.

Had a lovely high tea. The only point I can think of is that the sandwiches were very big for a high tea, and therefore very filling. But super tasty!

Reasonable Italian. Friendly service and quiet atmosphere. Long waiting time. Pizza base a bit thick and too much cheese, tastes good. Stuffed pasta was not fully cooked. A small piece of tiramisu for 9.50 is disproportionate. Soup was watery. Lots of flies in. Salad was good, as well as the melon, pasta and drinks. Nice for once, but not again.

Beautiful spacious restaurant with a view over the marina and IJselmeer.

It's a great location. Nice family restaurant and also they don't charge for the food and drinks of your kids. Which is really sweet of them. The food is served in big portions, so keep up your appetite before you go there. I ordered a pizza but the knife given along with it was so blunt that I had to use all my energy in cutting. The service is extremely slow and hence the 3 star

A beautiful place on the water, with very friendly staff.

We had a great time with excellent food and lovely friendly waitresses, the 4 stars was because the glasses and knives and forks weren't as clean as expected See you all again Been again a year later everything was fantastic thank you

Had dinner here on the terrace this afternoon. Nice service and delicious sandwiches. If I ever come to Medemblik again, I will go here again.

Ordered a Cesar salad with chicken. Received a container of mainly lettuce with a few pieces of chicken, no dressing and a few halves of candy tomatoes. Was more like a bunny's lunch. Definitely not recommended.

Lunch viel enorm tegen. Een cesar salade besteld. Bleek een bak met voornamelijk sla te zijn met 5 stukjes kip een paar halve snoep tomaatjes en wat schaafsel van kaas. Dressing zat er niet in. Wellicht een prima lunch voor een konijn.

High tea is highly recommended We forgot to report our allergies so unfortunately this could not be anticipated, but that is my fault :)

Great food. We sat on the terrace. After the music was on, it was completely great. Reserved with social deal. Price of the deal an eat you got was a lot, so perfect deal. Iced coffee was delicious btw in this sun.

We houden niet van tocht en konden na enige tijd gelukkig een andere tafel krijgen. In tegenstelling tot eerdere goede ervaringen was de lunch dit keer een drama. Dieptepunt waren de broodjes Caprese met tomaat/mozzarella die zo droog en smaakloos waren dat wij smeekten om olijfolie, balsamico en een beetje pesto zodat er in ieder geval iets van dressing op de eenvoudig belegde broodjes zou zijn. Nee, er bleek helaas geen pesto in de keuken voorhanden. Onze vraag naar de dessertkaart werd door de vriendelijke jongedame beantwoord met “ik weet niet of dat wel mag” en later, toen wij teleurgesteld bleven kijken, “maar misschien wilt U een bolletje ijs?”. We schaamden ons voor onze gasten die wij een heerlijke lunch hadden beloofd. Nadat een van hen de lauw geserveerde koffie snel had opgedronken zijn wij vertrokken.

The service was good, the food not. Only the vitello tonnato as a starter was very tasty. The pasta of the day, ravioli with mortadella, was a real low point. It was cold, dry and tasteless. The rest (burrata and spaghetti carbonara) was mediocre, sloppily put together and not at the right temperature. We finished with tea and lukewarm coffee. We have pointed out the problems with the operation. They indicated that they were sorry and that they would let the kitchen know. We were left with a hangover from this. A bad experience, especially considering the prices.

Cozy restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was tasty and well prepared. However, the sauce with the fish was very salty for our taste. But that is a different experience for everyone. Other than that it was great.

Delicious high tea, variety and plenty!

Ik had hoge verwachtingen van de high tea bij Med Trattoria Medemblik, vooral omdat we met een groep van 8 meiden waren en gebruikmaakten van een Social Deal-aanbieding. Helaas viel het resultaat behoorlijk tegen. Ten eerste was het aantal potten thee voor zo'n grote groep karig – we kregen slechts twee potten voor 8 personen, wat absoluut niet genoeg was. We moesten regelmatig bijbestellen, wat nogal ongemakkelijk was. Het eten begon met drie mini-canapés, waarna we echter meer dan een uur moesten wachten op het volgende gerecht. Dit was een lange wachttijd, vooral voor een high tea. Wat we daarna kregen, was teleurstellend: een klein soepje en 1,5 boterham met beleg. Daarna kregen we een mini-quiche die in één hap op was, gevolgd door een bolletje ijs als zoetigheid? Dit is echt niet wat je verwacht bij een high tea. De tiramisu was heel weinig en de cannaloni had weinig smaak. Het voldeed totaal niet aan de verwachtingen. Het personeel was wel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Hoewel de gerechtjes zelf wel smakelijk waren, was de hoeveelheid veel te weinig voor een high tea. We hadden na afloop nog steeds honger. De lange wachttijden en de minimale porties zorgen ervoor dat ik de ervaring niet als positief kan beschouwen.

Never again! Waiting 2 hours for a mediocre sandwich. Next time we'll go to the gas station and get a sandwich. The quality of the food and service there is much better than in this worthless establishment! 1 star rating is still very enthusiastic!

This was my first visit to their local and my buddy has been there several times. I was really pleased how quickly we were served and got our seats. The food was very tasty & the prices were okay. There was a bit of a strange smell in the anteroom, which is why there was only 4/5 stars for ambience. Gladly again!:)

Had a delicious high tea in this beautiful restaurant. Very good service and nice atmosphere. The staff was very nice, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. The food itself was also very good.

Staff is very friendly, but I am very disappointed in the fact that they had not arranged vegan cheese as promised, so I ate a pizza with grilled vegetables and that's it... Bread board is very little for the price, we will not come back because it is not vegan friendly. Luckily there was salt and pepper on the table so I could still make the pizza okay, but I didn't enjoy my food..

Beautiful restaurant with a view of the water. The food was disappointing. The pizzas were not warm. In terms of taste it was fine, but not like you eat a pizza in Italy. The bottom was on the thick side. Furthermore, three people had the Tartufata pizza, which did not contain forest mushrooms as indicated on the menu, but mushrooms as on the Funghi pizza. The staff eventually resolved the matter nicely by offering us a coffee on the house.

It looked a bit gloomy when we came in, but we were very early (5:00 PM). Excellent food, relaxed environment. Unfortunately few guests. Service was very friendly. Recommended!

The starter is on the menu as antipasti for two people for the price of € 16.50 But that is not the price, you have to pay €33.00. This is certainly not nice.

The staff is extremely friendly and personal. You will be treated in a friendly manner and will provide explanations if you have a question. Very customer-friendly, but what really struck me was that the cups on the coffee machine were upright on the warming plate and covered with a tea towel. You are one of the few who know how it should be done. In addition, one of your employees is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to coffee. She apologized that the espresso had a little too much water, unbelievable. The espresso was excellent by the way. Chapeau!!!!! We will definitely come back and it won't stop just once.

Excellent food with a very good price/quality ratio.

Pizzas were anything but tasty. Serivces took a bit long. Atmosphere fine.

We had pizza, although it was priced higher, but it tasted good and the beautiful view made up for it. Dogs are allowed. Only the service girls could have been a little more attentive. We had to get up ourselves to order more drinks because no one came to ask if we had anything else.

Recently had a High Wine at MED Trattoria. Delicious dishes with tasty matching wines! It was a fun afternoon activity to spend with my friends! Also very nice staff, highly recommended!

Very tasty food, friendly service and beautiful views of the IJsselmeer.

Ambience very nice. We waited a long time for service just to pay. But unfortunately the price/performance ratio for the food isn't right at all. Pizza with vegetables for 17€. Seafood spaghetti had 3 small shrimp and nothing else. Lots of cocktail tomatoes for €22. Lasagna was good but also 22€.

Delicious food, beautiful view of the harbour. And with regard to the food, we can highly recommend this restaurant. A really delicious meal, with a nice taste and at the end the tasting, which was delicious. We will definitely come back here again. 👍

Lovely view, great food, slow service

Never experienced anything like this before. There was a young woman who served well. But the other lady grumbled because it got so busy. But in the meantime, people walked away because it took too long. The bread was so hard you couldn't cut it with any knife. There was so little salmon that you were lucky if you could fill the bread. I'll never go there again.

Not what it used to be! Apparently recently taken over. The place and building are still great, also friendly young staff who do their best, but are fairly inexperienced and do not pay attention to empty drinks, etc. Negatives: - Lukewarm bottle of rosé, ice cubes as solution - Beer not cold - starter carpaccio, very little for the price, balsamic vinegar is liquid sugar, no further flavour - dishes (main and after) do not come at the same time, each time 1 of us got the dish when the rest was already gone - calamari would be fresh, but also possible for €24. Especially from the freezer. Rubber and tasteless, served almost cold - main course took a very long time, room 30% full - fries 1 small bowl for 4 people, and almost cold and limp when received, but good mayonnaise - “Grilled veal ribeye” was not grilled, tough, almost lukewarm, no ribeye and completely tasteless. A little salt and pepper wouldn't be a punishment. - desserts look nice, but are only ok at most. Not for €9.5 each. I have been satisfied before, where Italian cooking was done with passion. Delicious fresh dishes. There's nothing left of this. The passion probably lies in the yield and saving on a good chef, but that is an assumption on my part. €260 for 4 people was certainly not worth it, you won't see us again. Too bad, it was a nice restaurant!

It would be nice if it became a smoke-free terrace (outside). Not pleasant when you are enjoying the food and someone is smoking behind you.

Two stars because of the nice service and the pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately pizza wasn't good. The edge is so hard that it is not edible and the topping is quite dry. It's a shame, we used to eat much better here.

Let's start with the good. Ambience and location at the harbor is good. Restaurant also beautifully designed. Unfortunately the food was bad. Raw(!) and cold salmon on the pizza. The edge is so hard that you can't eat it. The burger wasn't more than average either. Very few fries. Price/performance in the end a disaster with pizza 17 euros and burgers 18 euros. Service OK, but a bit disorganized. I would definitely not dine here again. The shop probably lives from the visiting sailors...

Was super bad. The service. But certainly also the food. It was undercooked and cold. Have eaten here before and it was good. But now.....

June 14, 2024 Lukewarm pasta with no taste. Lukewarm meat. Vegetable that looks unappetizing and should pass for grilled peppers or something similar. And a rack of lamb that is so overcooked, dry and tough that it is impossible to get through. The diamond tenderloin was well cooked. A waste of the evening and money, but we will not dine here again. Just a shoutout to the staff because they remain friendly and do their very best....

Vanavond gaan dineren hier na een goede ervaring met een lunch. Helaas was dit helemaal geen goed idee. De lamskoteletten waren zo droog gebakken en taai en koud. De pasta was lauw en smakeloos . De diamanthaas was gelukkig wel heel goed gebakken maar kwam ook lauw aan tafel. En de groenten ( gegrilde paprika of zoiets ) zag er zeer onsmakelijk uit en was ook bitter. Het personeel deed wel hun best en was ook zeer vriendelijk chapeau! Maar de prijs kwaliteit verhouding was hier ver te zoeken dus voor ons was dit een teleurstelling en we komen dus niet nog eens dineren.

We regularly dined here and were always completely satisfied. Unfortunately, today's lunch is a joke. The sandwiches were unimaginative, very sparsely filled and arrived after a long wait with intervals of at least 10 minutes, so half of the people were waiting, two sandwiches received raw mushrooms and cold chicken. We had called in advance to request fireworks in the meal as it was a birthday. Unfortunately that doesn't happen either. The service did their best, but did not even offer a cup of coffee in compensation. Unfortunately disappointing. We also saw that something went wrong with several guests, causing the service to continue to make excuses.

We had to wait a long time for the menu and for the food and drinks. The service is very nice, but possibly too few staff. Dinner was not always tasty, and not much for a lot of money. It is a very beautiful place.

What an unexpectedly nice place. Beautiful terrace overlooking the harbour, good coffee and delicious dishes (from (shrimp) croquette sandwich to tasty filled salads and more..). Restaurant and terrace are wheelchair accessible (unknown whether there are adapted sanitary facilities). We will definitely come back someday.

1h30 wait for a simple piece of mediocre meat is extremely disappointing and the prices are outrageous

Ate here tonight and it was not good. The starters arrived in good time after about half an hour, but in my opinion far too expensive for the portions you get. After the starters we had to wait about 1 hour and 45 minutes for the main courses, much too long of course. I had asked for medium well, but it was far too well done and therefore very dry and also cold and it was also far too little for the price they ask. My children had spaghetti that was also not warm and had a very bland taste. The side dishes we ordered did not arrive at all. The lasagna was tasty and also warm. Had to pay over 200 euros for this bad service and bad food.

Once again we had a wonderful evening at MED.

Excellent food and friendly service. Doesn't take too long. It's a shame that they only serve dark brown bread, I would like white bread myself. That doesn't seem difficult to realize...

Wir waren zu viert mit einem Baby in diesem Restaurant nach der Empfehlung von TripAdvisor! In der Karte wurde ab vier Personen ein 3- Gang Menü angeboten. Nach einem großen gemischten Vorspeisen Platte wurde zum Hauptgang alle Hauptgang Menu von der Karte aufgetischt. Neben unfassbar leckerer selbst-gemachter Past wurde auch hochwertiger Thunfisch Steak und ein Black Angus Steak serviert. Zum Abschluss gab es für jede Person drei kleine Gläser Nachtisch. Der Service war super freundlich und wir könnten unsere Getränke auch noch zu Ende trinken, obwohl das Restaurant ab 22 Uhr eigentlich schon geschlossen hatte. Das übrig gebliebene Essen wurde uns eingepackt und wir konnten es am nächsten Tag nochmal genießen.

On Easter Sunday, we spontaneously went out for dinner after visiting family in the area. We ended up at Trattoria Med. We chose the monthly menu and had a delicious meal. Everything tasted good, good and friendly service, attractive restaurant!

Die Bedienung eine einzige Katastrophe. Nur nach Aufforderung bekamen wir eine Speisekarte. Die Pizza war nicht zufriedenstellend, der Thunfisch war kalt und der Pizzaboden war nicht richtig durch.

Tried serval times after the take over by the new owners. But the quality it had, left with the previous oweners. Service is bad, waiting times after ordering is way to long, prices to high. Atmosphere is also going down. We where frequent guests but now i do not know... may be we try next summer outside on the terrace..

Pity! Been here once before for a tasting and received a very warm welcome from the owners. Wanted to come back to eat for a while but think this will be the last time. What bad service!! Very long waiting time to get the card and take an order. Due to the long waiting time for drinks, we immediately ordered sandwiches. Unfortunately it never arrived. Ultimately it turned out that this had not been ordered either. You are then also told that the prices on the menu are not correct. Left early. Sad end to a beautiful day.

I can only agree with some of the reviews here, the restaurant is beautifully located on the harbor and is nicely furnished, but unfortunately that's it... There were about 10 tables occupied by guests and about 5 waitresses. Nevertheless, the service wasn't exactly professional. Apart from the fact that the ladies were visually well styled, their motivation to work could be greatly improved. The time from the first conversation at the table to receiving the menu felt like forever... the ladies had to chat behind the bar for another quarter of an hour. In the end we ordered three pizzas and three drinks, although my 0.5 liter beer was a really cool price at €7.10. The pizzas were good, but nothing special. Not even a lot of stuffing, but for €16.80 a piece we would have expected more. Someone next to us had ordered a “large” salad. The only thing great about the salad was the bowl, but not the contents. I think because of the location you want to go for a high-end restaurant here, but unfortunately this is only reflected in the prices... No thanks, we won't be coming back...
