Mercatu - osteria, coffee & bar, meetings in Wijk 07 Reeuwijk Brug

We used the large hall at Mercatu for a corporate event with approximately 50-60 people. The waterfront location creates a pleasant atmosphere and is easily accessible. There was ample space for all the guests, and the entire venue felt comfortable and professional. The service was excellent: always present and attentive without being intrusive. The snacks were delicious and there was plenty of food. All in all, a very pleasant experience and an excellent venue for our event. Highly recommended!

We initially had a reservation for Wednesday, September 10th, but the weather forecast was terrible, and since Igor, our Jack Russell Terrier, wasn't welcome inside the restaurant, we had to eat outside. I actually find it discriminatory that, as a client, you want to eat in a restaurant but have to eat outside because you have a dog with you. Even if it's freezing and pouring rain, you have to eat outside. The major drawback of this is that you're shivering outside and your meal cools down even faster. Not only that, we'd already finished eating 10 minutes earlier, so I went inside to ask if we could have dessert. I also wondered why clients with dogs were being discriminated against. Well, I got an answer I didn't agree with, but I have a feeling that clients with higher status are more welcome there than the average man or woman with a dog. You would expect that for all this inconvenience there would be some goodwill/service for all this because both of us and Igor were freezing from the cold. The temperature outside was 14 degrees and a strong wind. That is not how you treat clients.

The food was simple but good, and the portion sizes, especially the lasagna, were also good. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is somewhat reminiscent of a cafeteria (we sat in the front section).

Unique place. We had a wonderful lunch in the sunshine. Their priority was to make sure we got everything we wanted. They demonstrated that with conviction. A place to return to again and again.

In warm(er) weather (20+ degrees), consider serving the red wine a little chilled.

Had a delicious lunch at Mercatu. My uitsmijter (Dutch fried eggs) was delicious on brown bread. A little salt and pepper added, and it was perfect. The tomato and arugula on the side was also delicious. I mixed it with my uitsmijter. My friend had white bread with a croquette. Also delicious. The tomato and arugula were also on the side. The service is friendly and professional. The ambiance is cozy and warm. The terrace by the water is unique. I'm impressed with the pizza oven.

This restaurant is large. It has a large terrace at the front and another large terrace at the back overlooking the water. It's cozy and the staff is friendly. The food was delicious, but it was strange that one of our group ordered soup and lasagna. We were told that lasagna was prepared in a traditional way and would therefore take a bit longer. Okay, no problem, we had plenty of time. When the food finally arrives, you expect the soup some people had ordered to be the first. But no, the lasagna was served first, along with all the other main courses, and the soup arrived 10 minutes later. So the lasagna was put aside. It was a really small portion, by the way. By the time the soup was finished, the lasagna had cooled considerably. What a shame. The fish salad was very large and well-filled with all kinds of fish. The 12-hour fish and meat platters were okay.

Fast and friendly service, tasty pasta dishes, spacious terrace

We had a truly wonderful wedding here. The staff was incredibly helpful and thoughtful. The price-quality ratio is truly excellent. You get so much for your money. We had beautiful weather and spent the entire evening on the terrace by the water. Inside, we had a wonderful dinner. A delightful dinner at a long table. It looked amazing, and the food was plentiful and delicious! We've had nothing but positive feedback from our guests.

Delicious ice cream, but ridiculously expensive. And then they charge 5 cents for a cup. Of course, it's not about the 5 cents, but the overall price. Just because everything has become more expensive doesn't mean you can just make everything expensive everywhere. That's why I'll be cycling elsewhere from now on. Keep things somewhat normal in Reeuwijk.

What a huge sound box it is. It was so noisy that we moved to the reception area. Very kind of the service! And we were not alone. Two more tables followed. Perhaps arrange the space better?

We had a whole day of meetings here in one of the spacious rooms. Service was great and the lunch was also delicious!

We were here for a workshop and were guests all day. What an experience. I have seen many business locations, but few where everything was right! Hostess Nancy, what a topper! So friendly, thinking along with what we needed, good IT, delicious (gluten-free) food and a beautiful place. Very pleasantly surprised and would love to come back. Again: Nancy is the example of total unburdening for the guests with a laugh and joke here and there.

Yesterday I ate at Mercatu for the second time, because I liked it so much the last time. Nice on the terrace by the water. The dishes are delicious. I had the marinated sea bass earlier, and this time the delicious tender beef tenderloin skewer. I understand that that is Mercatu's favorite. There was a small mistake with our order, it can happen, but that was quickly and professionally (more than) made up for. Really my compliments to the people in the service. Definitely worth repeating. Thanks for the nice evening and see you soon!

Had a cup of coffee with something nice here last Monday. Top place, good coffee and delicious cake. But a big downside is the acoustics, you go crazy from the sound of people chatting, please do something about the insulation on the ceiling and walls. We were sitting with 3 people at a table and you just can't hear each other and we were not the only ones who had this problem, most people probably don't report it but here it is.

Less content, watery taste and not warm. Whipped cream bite of air. Good for the figure. For those who go for the taste and really tasty three times nothing.

The food here was fine, the staff was also very friendly. What disappointed us was that empty glasses and plates on the tables around us had been there for at least 45 minutes to an hour. Also drinks had fallen over and this was sort of wiped off with a tea towel, which left a dirty floor and table. There was also one of the staff members walking around with a short skirt/shorts where her buttocks almost stuck out, it was a mega hot day but when you are eating this is not a very fresh sight.

I have been here before and the experience has been very mixed. Had made a reservation and had to find a table myself, were not taken to it. It turned out to be a place in the bright sun (tropical temperatures). Asked for another spot and was given a hard time for another spot, had to be discussed while there were many empty tables. People without a reservation came around me and could sit down right away. I waited for over 5 minutes, was completely ignored and did not get an answer and found a spot myself. Had to wait quite a long time, again, before the order was taken. In short, not a good experience.

The food and drinks are certainly tasty. But the portions are small. We had already noticed this in the restaurant itself. But if you are in the park you can also have it delivered. As you can see in the photo, I ordered the lasagna bolognese. Even if this were a starter, it would be too small. However, this is a main course for €17.95. 6 good bites and it's gone. An average of €3 per bite. The prices of the restaurant are really unprecedented in terms of food.

When the weather's nice, you can sit outside. Service is friendly and prompt. I'd be happy to go again.

Delicious food and friendly service!

Asked for a table inside, and we were put outside. Since it is next to the water, it is full of mosquitoes. Ordered pasta, and received a salad instead. Then we also had to pay extra to get the pasta. The food tastes okay, but it is nothing special. Ordered starter and main courses. Waited about 40 minutes, then the starters arrived at the same time as the main course.

Food was fine, but allergies were not taken seriously Although the food itself was fine, food allergies were handled carelessly. When taking the order, we clearly indicated that my son has a serious allergy, and this was neatly noted by the staff. Unfortunately, nothing was done with this information, and we were served a dish that contained the allergen in question. Fortunately, I was able to pull it out of my son's hands just in time, before he ate it. I immediately spoke to another employee, who confirmed that the allergen was indeed in the dish. This could easily have resulted in a life-threatening situation. Despite the fact that the food was otherwise good, we will not take this risk again. We will therefore not return here.

Company meeting. But the projector didn't work and the constant hum of the air conditioning made it difficult to hear. Not enough seating for the amount of people booked. No coffee available. But the snacks were tasty. EDIT:- I don't need a resolution. I need you to get the projector working and provide a decent sound system.

Had coffee “with” here with 16 ladies. The service was friendly and relaxed.

The location is perfect, so close to the lake and with ample parking and easy to reach. On a sunny day, the terrace is lovely. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the food is, mwah.... I had a pasta Fungi Tartufo. It was a bit of a soggy mess with overcooked pasta, little Fungi and no truffle (flavour) anywhere to be found. My table companion had a pasta salad. That too was soggy, a bit wilted and also very salty. The prices of the food are way too expensive for the quality. The restaurant itself could use some love. Everything looks a bit dirty, messy. The toilet stinks and there is no soap. It was also very quiet, which makes the entire large restaurant a bit lacking in atmosphere. For a drink in the sun or an ice cream, fine. For food, I will skip Mercatu next time.

Listen, I just got an ice cream, but I still have something to say, I always get an inimini scoop when I'm here, and you still pay 2.20 for that, just plain absurd!! It happens to me every time!

Easter brunch, unfortunately we did not get what was promised afterwards. We saw that people also had a salmon sandwich, which we got when it had already been cleared. But when I got home I took a look at the menu and we were also missing fresh fruit, muffin, cannoli and the crispy croquette... it was tasty, but I paid 6x 35 euros for a completely incomplete plank. So too bad! Maybe should have checked it when we were there, but that's a lesson for next time.

We spent a quiet Easter Sunday for dinner. The weather was outstanding and the view while eating was great. While we probably order far more than needed our wait staff were very accommodating to allow us to pack it up for later. All in all, a perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing meal. Thank you!

Was very busy with Easter brunch, we saw when we left that they had many more things on the shelves on other tables than us. A bit strange, we also had to ask for the drinks that were included in the price. Furthermore, it was cozy and well cared for.

Restaurant Reeuwijkse Hout is and remains a fantastic location. My stars speak for themselves. Thanks to the staff for a delicious lunch on the beautiful terrace by the lake!

Unfortunately, another more stripped-down card. It is now really a pasta restaurant aimed at the holiday crowd of the adjacent park, instead of an 'Italian'. No more specialties on the menu, but your standard pizza and pasta. Tagliata? Away. A carbonara? Can't. Good luck Mercatu.

Cozy table, good service and delicious food. It's just a pity that you didn't have any advice on the site on how to get to your place during the road closure. Had to drive an extra half hour and drove to places where that was actually not possible.

Rarely had that you are just completely ignored on the terrace. Wave and ask twice and no one comes to take your order. If you can't handle the crowd, keep your terrace partially open. Then at least you are honest about what you can handle

Today we got half a scoop of ice cream for €2.20 per “scoop”. Until a few weeks ago you could get a decent ice cream here. No idea why this changed. But we won't come back for this again.

Mercatu is a nice spot for a relaxing afternoon or evening, especially thanks to the beautiful terrace on the water. A big plus is that dogs are welcome, making it easy to take your four-legged friend with you. The menu is small, but offers a selection of tasty dishes prepared with care. Although the choice is limited, the flavors are good. In short, Mercatu is a cozy place!

The pizza was very tasty, the tomato soup a bit on the spicy side. Waiting time was a bit long but the service was very friendly.

Reeuwijkse hout is regularly visited by me and my relations. Great food, atmosphere is good, but it is very noisy. The people are friendly and hospitable. I continue to be amazed by the way of serving. Four people are sitting in the conservatory by the window, drinks are served for the people on the aisle and the person concerned asks if we would like to pass it on.

Delicious lunch, worth repeating! The lasagna is highly recommended:-) and the 12 o'clock meal, a soup, croquette sandwich, and a salmon sandwich. Yesterday, January 25, we had lunch with you for the 3rd time and will definitely come back.

We were kindly received by the ladies and were given drinks and a delicious sandwich. They were patient with us because we were so busy that we "forgot" to make a choice from the menu. The pizzas were deliciously fresh and richly topped. Highly recommended.

During our visit to Mercatu in Reeuwijk we experienced an absolutely unforgettable evening. The food was of exceptional quality, each dish a true work of art in taste and presentation. The ambiance radiated warmth and coziness, perfect for a wonderful evening out. What really made the experience extraordinary was Nancy's service. Her sparkling personality, attentiveness and professionalism were of a rare high level. Thanks to Nancy we felt very welcome and spoiled. Mercatu and Nancy together provided a culinary experience that cannot be surpassed!

Good food. Service was friendly, but the reservation went from 7 to 2. Vegan was neatly communicated and was also stated on the confirmation. However, the waiter did not know this. It turned out well, by the way.

Pizzas were not tasty, weak bases and too much cheese. Has nothing to do with a real Italian pizza. Chicken dish lacked taste, herbs could have been added in my opinion. Luckily the service was okay.

They do have pretensions, given the prices, atmosphere is lacking, a lot of reverberation from other tables is therefore unintelligible at your own table. That large pizza oven is nice, but if you order tenderloin, they simply forget you. Friendly service, that's for sure. Professional organization is lacking. Routes for operation are cumbersome. I felt out of place.

We went here for dinner because dogs are no longer allowed at the Pavilion further down. A nice terrace in the shade, a nice spot for a drink and after dinner you can also pick up an ice cream at the front. We ordered pizzas for dinner, unfortunately they looked much tastier than they were. Little to no flavor and not the best soil. Not worth repeating for us.

Unfortunately a negative experience for us. We went there on the last day of vacation. Nice to end the holiday with a dinner. My 4 year old daughter, husband and I. Reserve early, order as soon as possible. 4-year-old daughter has to go to bed on time for the first day of school. Order: a bottle of spa red, an apple juice, an ice tea. A sandwich and 3 pastas. The lady who later sat next to us and ordered had her pizza in no time. That went very smoothly. We were still sitting quietly so nothing happened. After a while we moved inside. The girl who served us came to change the table number. She didn't ask anything else, I wanted to ask something else but she immediately left (without showing interest at all) After a while I spoke to another waiter, I had the feeling that it took quite a while, especially when I thought about the lady who was eating her pizza next to us and who had already paid for it. The waiter said there was a large table just in front of us, but he was going to take a look. A few minutes later he told me that the food was in the pan. We thought great, then it will arrive soon. 15/20 minutes we asked the girl who served us again where the food was and said that it still had to be clicked through... clicked through????? It was in the pan right???? Then I got angry. And why click through? Because we had a sandwich "beforehand"???? We had been looking at an empty plate for half an hour! In addition, no one came to ask if we wanted something to drink or if we were doing well. Well, greetings then. Indicate that we were leaving. Then when paying (where we had to wait again) to make a fuss about the food that was almost ready. Yes, bye, we couldn't and didn't want to wait any longer, our 4-year-old daughter also has to go to bed on time. Greetings, no, we don't want to take it with us anymore either!! She wanted to make us pay the entire bill....instead of compensating us (which we didn't even ask for but having the entire bill paid is quite ridiculous, this obviously didn't happen). All this due to "miscommunication" as it was so cutely called. I'm a bit disappointed and sad about it. So not enough attention is paid to you and there is also cheating... Nice to have a last evening out for dinner...

Service seemed very inexperienced, several times they forgot our table. Spaghetti Carbonara was literally gone in three bites, it looked like a child's portion. Sauce was quite watery and there were hardly any bacon bits on it. Fortunately, my table companion had a lot of bacon, so I shared it. Left hungry.
