Super nice restaurant, with a real Mexican atmosphere. The portions are huge and delicious. The two of us struggled to finish a third of the platter for two because there was so much food on it. You get to take everything home. Excellent value for money, and if you love Mexican food, it's a must!

We've been here twice now. Delicious food, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, you can really taste the Mexican dishes. By the way, a little tip: if you plan to eat here, go on a diet two days beforehand, because if you leave hungry, something's not right. Enjoy your meal!

The food here is truly delicious. The enchiladas are a favorite. I've never had such delicious ones. The homemade garlic sauce is also superb. And all for a good price. The only downside is that the wooden chairs aren't very comfortable. A cushion would do wonders.

What a beautiful interior design. You'll feel like you're in Mexico, with the music to match. The platter for two with meat, beans, fries, and fruit was far too much, but incredibly delicious, and the corn soup as an appetizer was also wonderful. The service was very friendly, and the owner even chatted with his customers.

I'd never experienced anything like this before. I thought it was super special, and it really enhanced the specialness of my birthday. I think it's amazing!! Today we went to El Comal for the first time because we'd heard from several people that it was supposed to be a good restaurant. Well, that wasn't a lie. On the recommendation of friends, we tried a platter for two, choosing the "Cancun." Suddenly, a platter appeared that made me wonder if it wasn't for more people... Lots of delicious meat, Mexican fries, rice, beans in a delicious sauce, corn, a tortilla wrap with vegetables, fruit—the large plate was completely filled with delicious treats. When we finished, we felt more than full; the food was delicious and definitely worth going back. I only found the meat on the skewer a little dry, but it was delicious. Next time, we'll try a different platter for two 😉

I love watching Gordon Ramsay, and he always says it's bad to have too many dishes on your menu, but that's not true at El Comal: the selection is enormous, and you always get delicious food for a very reasonable price!

Delicious and cozy restaurant! However, we ordered shared platters, and the menu said: "served with Mexican fries." Once home, however, we discovered that these portions of fries were simply billed separately, and we paid extra for them. It's a shame, and not entirely fair.

Simply a wonderful evening of delicious food at a great price! And something for everyone! From quesadillas to enchiladas, quesadas, fajitas, steak, and vegetarian options. Seriously, if you can't decide, it's not the menu! The portions are more than generous; we even took two doggy bags home! But there's always room for dessert, too. Here too, there's a wide selection of ice cream sundaes, baked tortillas with fruit, chocolate mousse, or a delicious coffee or tea.

Was looking forward to having Mexican but disappointed with the food itself. It’s not Mexican but more so what a European thinks Mexican might be. If you wanna save money, just google “Authentic Mexican” and then make that at home instead.

A really nice place with amazing ambiance. Cozy and dimly lit, friendly staff and plenty of food. No one left hungry ;). The food was amazing. The staff was a bit swamped. Several of our requests were forgotten by the staff, like a drinking glass, cutlery etc. For this reason a star off of the service category.

Had a great meal, as a starter I had the nachos, and calamaris both delicious. as a main course I had the ribeye 350gr. Served with corn, beans, and rice. It was very tasty. It only took a bit too long and I missed some Mexican music, instead of the radio. But it was worth it. We will definitely come back.

NOT MEXICAN. My husband and I recently moved to Brunssum and had been wanting to try this place. However, we were quite disappointed from start to finish. We had to find someone to tell us where to sit. We finally talked to one of the servers who told us to sit in one of the tables near the front door. As soon as I was about to sit, another server came out of nowhere, placed his hand on the chair as I was about to sit and said the table was reserved and that we had to sit closest to the door. That server made a point tell us that it was because we didn’t have reservations that we had to take that table. It took approximately 20min to get someone to come to the table to hand us the food menu and immediately asked what we wanted to drink without having seen a drink menu. From the moment we sat down to the moment we received and finished our starter and had only had 1 drink, 1hr had already lapsed. We waited and waited for the server to bring our mains or at least ask if we wanted more drinks. Finally, when the food came, I was expecting Mexican food. I didn’t hate it, but it wasn’t Mexican. Everything came at different times.The guacamole is not made in house, it’s what you’d get from the grocery store. Fajitas? I got a stir fry with 80% vegetables that did not have any of the staple ingredients from a Mexican dish. My husband who got the “American Tacos” which did not even resemble half of what a texmex taco would look or taste like. May I point out, this is the only taco selection on their mains. They don’t do substitutions for their sides (rice and beans) and the beans were terribly undercooked. There were too many unnecessary ingredients given in a tower for the fajitas. Pineapple? Cucumbers? Olives? Nowhere on the menu did they have Al Pastor Tacos so why the pineapple? Mexican food does not need to be complicated. We paid €85 and left about 60% of the meal. Being Latinx, I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but it disappointed. My suggestion is that if you require reservations, please make that more overt and staff appropriately if you know you have a high influx of customers which would solve some of the complaints regarding time. A restaurant needs more than just servers, how about a hostess? Ah! And please, it’s “Bienvenidos” not “Bien Venidos”, you may need to proofread your menu.

Yesterday we had another delicious meal at El Comal. The owner and staff are friendly and really pay attention to their guests. The portions are certainly in proportion to what you pay. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy. We will eat here more often. Oh yes, not to forget, thanks to the owner about the bird: he is not pathetic or unhealthy. He is now 24 years old and has plenty of room, beauty comes from within. We can confirm that he still flies around happily and chatters a lot hihi.

I have been coming to El Comal for years, especially for the delicious steaks, and this evening my father and I were really looking forward to being pampered at El Comal again. After we got our drinks I asked about the chips with dip that you get as standard. "After you order" it said. Ok, we were chatting for a while with our drinks, so waiting for the chips is no problem. A little later the same waitress came by to take our order. We were still in full conversation, menu cards open, and said we hadn't made a choice yet. A little later another waitress came and again we were not ready to order. Soon afterwards we had made our decision and the menu cards were placed close to the corner of our table so that the staff could see that we were ready to order. Then it took and took before someone came along again. Eventually a waitress comes by with drinks for another table and walks past us with the empty glasses. I tell her that we are ready to order. "I'll be right with you" is the answer. Then the original waitress comes and takes the order at another table next to us, to which I say; Excuse me, we are also ready to order and the response was "I will be with you shortly". Then I was done with it and asked for the bill. The staff then suddenly asked what was wrong and claimed to have been to our table 4 times, but it was once this waitress and once another, after which they made us wait extra long and then first took another table even though I had already indicated. be ready to order. A HUGE bad service today, and a ruined evening. Waitress ladies, please learn how the catering industry works because this was crazy

Extraordinary! Very attractively decorated restaurant. Nice service and especially the owner himself. Very generous portions of very good quality. We had a wonderful meal for over 2 ½ hours and never had the idea that we had to "go away". Highly recommended if you are in the area, make sure to make a reservation.

Sorry, but this was a big NoGo, went in without a reservation a few weeks ago and were sent away, not so bad, our own mistake FULL IS FULL, now I made a reservation 1 week in advance and reserved my wife's favorite table for her birthday. owner arranged it would be fine the round table at the bar unfortunately on arrival table forgiven said that this was for my birthday wife, owner due to his mistake didn't even wish me congratulations or offered a drink for the mistake nothing at all I say this really can't eat stays there good As for drinks, order a Mexican beer and get a Spanish beer put in front of me, even this was not straightened out, I just had to pay for it. As regular customers, we thank ourselves and they will not see us again for a while.

Very good Mexican-oriented restaurant! Nicely decorated inside, just a bit too dark for my taste and the wooden chairs are not the most comfortable to sit on either. The food (the most important of course) is really good and fresh! From the homemade dips to the very extensive main courses, there was literally nothing that didn't taste good. You rarely find the size of the portions so generous in restaurants, a really big plus! The prices are also more than reasonable. Unfortunately, there is one point of criticism: the service could really be a bit more alert. We sat for half an hour before the drinks were taken.

The service is very long. The quantity of dishes is the same for 1 for 2. The prices are not justified at all.

Delicious food in generous portions, but the first 3 tables are not conveniently placed. At the entrance everyone walks past your table, sometimes even exuberantly, making it difficult to have a conversation with your table guests, and at the third table everyone who comes in announces that they have been assigned a table.

Well, what can I say about it. The interior is outdated, we sat on rather uncomfortable wooden chairs without cushion or backrest and it was cold; the cold rose from the floor. It took a long time for anyone to come for drinks and even longer - almost an hour - for the food to arrive. That's called: the meat. The side dishes arrived (rice, corn and fries) when the meat was almost gone, despite us asking for it before. By the way, it was virtually impossible to order a drink during that hour of waiting. The rice turned out to be cold, the fries were fried in old fat, so we left both alone. The staff we saw were only young girls. We won't be back there again.

Ate here with 5 people. The environment was nice, the food was good. The downside was the service, very young, inexperienced. Forgot to serve the side dishes (beans, rice and corn). After asking twice, we finally got some fries, which we also ordered separately. had to pay. We were accused of having complained earlier and then the waitress must have misunderstood. This is not possible for me and it is therefore not worth repeating.

Very cozy restaurant, had dinner here with family during a weekend away, the atmosphere in the restaurant was very cozy and pleasant with a clearly Mexican theme and music. We had chosen a number of dishes in advance to share, much tastier and certainly not too much to eat beforehand. There was a very wide choice of main courses from vegetarian to meat and dishes for 2 people to share. You will certainly get enough to eat here because there are some really large dishes. We were quite full so didn't get around to desserts, but they will undoubtedly be very tasty too. This was definitely recommended and recommended to everyone because of the good price-quality ratio!

Erg lekker gegeten, helaas niet alles op gekregen. Tip: bedenk goed of je wel een voorgerecht moet nemen, porties zijn erg groot. Was alleen jammer dat de temperatuur binnen erg laag was, is niet fijn als je tijdens het eten zit te koukleumen op ijskoude stoelen.

Het eten is hier echt fantastisch. Beter vind je niet hier in de buurt.

Sfeervol ingericht, lekker eten en vriendelijk personeel. Echter wel een minpunt te noemen dat anders aangepakt moet worden, anders verliezen jullie klanten. Op zaterdagavond gegeten, 19.45u aan tafel met 6 volwassenen. Aperitief, voorgerecht hoofdgerecht en drankjes. Na het hoofdgerecht kwam niemand vragen of we een dessert wilden er kwam ook niemand meer vragen of we nog iets wilden drinken. Toen we er zelf om vroegen (22.30u) was het niet meer mogelijk om nog een drankje te doen, de bar was gepoetst! Gevraagd of de eigenaar nog in de buurt was, maar nee die was boven en bezig. Dus m.a.w. we willen eigenlijk dat jullie nu oprotten. Tip, al gaan wij niet meer terugkomen. Kondig aan dat een laatste drankje te bestellen is omdat de zaak gaat sluiten, probleem opgelost en geen ontevreden klanten.

Heel gezellig en leuke service. Prachtig interieur en heel gezellig op tafel, zo onze stijl. Goed verzorgd.

Eten was ok, Service was zeer slecht , moesten lang wachten op drinken , totaal niet geïnteresseerd in de klant , was koud binnen en muziek stond veel te hard.
